Calma in Frankfurt am Main

Ordered two Pizza without really looking at the menu as we knew what we wanted. One margherita and one with buffalo mozzarella. As the pizzas arrived they surely looked good but there was a weird smell in the air. As soon as we tried it out we knew something was off. It didn’t really taste like a normal margherita but it had an extra flavour to it, an unordinary flavour. Since when does Parmigiano belong on Pizza. We are Italian and we KNOW that shouldn’t be the case. There shouldn’t be Parmigiano on Pizza never if not explicitly ordered, it isn’t part of the base of it. We checked the menu out and it indeed was written in it. We suggest you stop doing it if you want to serve authentic italian pizza.

The pizza was delicious. The spicy pizza (or the extra chili oil) could have been a bit spicier. Unfortunately, the background music was much too loud, and if you're going to use Spotify, please use premium. Loud ads are really annoying.

The owner/boss was really unfriendly, even though he deserves a fortune. He yelled at his pizza bakers for no reason. The food was okay, nothing special.

Although it was full, they managed to find a table for six people without a reservation. Unfortunately, they didn't have any dishes for fitness enthusiasts, but that's really nitpicking. I ordered tagliatelle with salmon, and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant pleasantly surprised me.

Pizza frutti di mare was better than Pizza frutti di mare in Tenerife. We ordered pizza and Italian salad, both dishes 5 stars, and apple juice 4.8 stars. Highly recommended! 👍

We went into this pizzeria around lunchtime in the center of Frankfurt, Germany, and it was a great choice. The spaghetti Bolognese, pesto, and lasagna were all delicious, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly, and they even gave us a complimentary glass of Apfelwein, a Frankfurt specialty.

Attempted theft by the Old Male Server Theft is the only way to describe what happened. The older male server many reviews complain about tried to overcharge us (aka a forced tip) and behaved aggressively. We waited 15 minutes for the bill because only the server who took your order can process payment (what a weird rule). He kept pushing us to pay cash even after we said card. First red flag. He told us the total was 37.30 but refused to give the itemised bill until we insisted and mentioned that it is not legal to withhold it (this whole process was a good 2 min debate with him). The real total was 34.30. Second and third red flags. Really, if he did not do this, we would have tip at least 10% like how we always do. When we asked why the amount was different, he shushed us loudly and snapped. Completely unacceptable. We paid and did not further pursue the matter only because we are tourists and did not want to spoil our trip. The food is fine and the younger servers are great. If you visit, please please request for the younger staff to take your order to avoid this experience.

We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The service was quick and professional. I think the price-performance ratio is excellent for such a location. The pizza was delicious. The restaurant offers many vegetarian options, but these aren't indicated on the menu (by a symbol?), nor are allergens. Otherwise, everything was great. I'd gladly come back.

I'm giving it fewer stars because I can't. The food was good, the flavor was good, so my complaint isn't about the cooks, it's about the waiters. The service was appalling, absolutely terrible, the worst service I've ever received in Germany. The oldest waiter treated us very, very badly. He gave us a dirty look, answered us rudely, and stopped serving us to start eating himself. I understand that as staff members he has his lunch break and I don't mind that, but he was eating next to our table and didn't come to serve us so we could eat. The food took quite a while, and he served people who arrived after us first. I asked for a bottle of water, and he brought me sparkling water. When I politely asked him to change it because it was fizzy, he gave us a dirty look, huffed and puffed, and complained. He brought us the dishes very reluctantly, even when we were ordering and asked about the size of the lasagna or the pizza, he wouldn't tell us and just told us to order whatever we wanted. They gestured a lot and spoke quite rudely. Finally, to top off this awful experience, I asked for the bill and he told me the amount due. I politely asked him to show me the receipt so I could see what each item cost; I don't think that's unreasonable. He responded with a very sour face and told me no, that I had to pay first and then he'd bring me the receipt. I told him I wanted to know the price of each item, and he refused, saying I had to pay first and then he'd give me the receipt. When I went to pay, I obviously wasn't going to leave a tip, as the service had been terrible. His response was to tell us that a 15% tip is usually expected and that it was the least we should do. I replied that you leave a tip if the service is good, but in this case, it wasn't, and he complained again. I never leave a negative review, but I don't think I've ever been treated so badly in a restaurant. It's a shame because the food was good.

It was my first time at this restaurant, and I ordered a Caesar salad and a vegetarian pizza. I didn't like the Caesar salad at all because it was very dry and dressed only with mayonnaise. I barely ate it. The pizza, on the other hand, was very tasty and juicy. The service wasn't particularly good either, as our waiter wasn't very friendly.

We were a couple at the Italian restaurant and were delighted from start to finish. Both dishes were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. A place we would definitely recommend and would gladly visit again!

The food (especially the spaghetti carbonara and the gnocchi bolognese) was delicious, and the portions were generous (almost too much 😅)! Unfortunately, the orange juice wasn't homemade, contrary to what the menu stated. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food arrived relatively quickly! The atmosphere is generally pleasant, however, the conversation and overall comfort are somewhat disrupted by the occasionally loud music and various noises (cutlery, appliances) from the kitchen, as it isn't separated by a wall, and you can hear every clink of dishes. 🙂‍↕️ Otherwise, the restaurant generally gives a clean impression, and the restrooms are also kept spotlessly clean. There's plenty of seating, so a reservation doesn't seem necessary. Despite the noise, I can recommend the restaurant, especially considering the reasonable prices (around €13 per person)! 😋🍝

We had pasta pollo and pizza pollo. Everything was brought fast to us and tasty! We really liked the establishment. The odd thing was that they first asked to pay cash and when we declined and wanted to pay by card they added, without noticing, 5 euro’s as a “tip”. That’s something you don’t do. I even had to ask for the receipt myself because they knew…

We spontaneously decided to go to this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered two pizzas and I was truly impressed. It's rare to find such good pizza right in the city center. We felt very comfortable and would definitely come back on our next visit to Frankfurt.

Check your receipt! I had a good time at this place because of my friends’ company. But my dish (the tortelloni Gorgonzola) was very disappointing. Very mild Gorgonzola taste and the filling was simply very bad. My friends were luckier with the food. That’s why the two stars. The atmosphere was Ok because we liked the music and the volume was low enough to have a conversation without yelling to each other. The service was Okish but… everything changed to one star when I checked the receipt some time after leaving this place. They charged me 10 euros tip without my approval. Very unprofessional and scammy. As I have read in other reviews, I also think that this place’s owner changed recently. So, the good average review is not a reliable indicator anymore.

The pizza at NONNO is truly delicious! I used to always eat the meat version, but now I prefer the vegetarian version—it's just as good. I haven't tried the pasta or salad yet, but I'm sure I will. I thought it was especially cool that they allowed me to take the pizza home, even though that's not actually possible with the voucher. Very polite and friendly! 👌🍕

Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The quality of the food was also only half-decent. Card payments weren't accepted, which should have been mentioned beforehand (it wasn't stated anywhere). We wouldn't recommend it, and this was the first and last email here.

Unfortunately, it's not as good as it used to be. The owner seems to have changed. The pizza is tasteless. Also, the service is very poor. The employees eat with their hands at the table next to them. Hygiene needs improvement. Furthermore, vouchers from the "B-My app" are not accepted for flimsy reasons. They lure people into the store with vouchers, but then don't accept them. Not recommended!

Great pizza. Very delicious. Portions were great for the price. Drinks were good and service was prompt and courteous. A nice standout in the multiple places to find pizza in Frankfurt.

The food is been amazing, we got an extra cheese for free for pizza and sweet cookie for green tea. The service and atmosphere inside is perfect and very kind and calm. Excellent pizza for 2 evenings we had dinner at this restaurant, a pizza this good with excellent ingredients from Italy is difficult to find even in many Italian pizzerias, excellent bill.

The ambiance was good and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. The lasagna consisted of nothing but cheese and what felt like no sauce, and the tagliatelle with prawns and wine sauce was more like aglio e olio.

The food tasted really good, but unfortunately, the service was very poor. The waiter, a blond young man, was unfriendly and answered every question I asked in a sarcastic manner. Furthermore, there was an unpleasant sewage odor from the terrace area, which severely spoiled our appetite and the entire experience. It's a shame, because the food itself was excellent.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. I ordered pesto verde, but it had nothing to do with pesto; it was simply too watery, and it felt like you were eating pasta with salt and Parmesan. I also had to pay for the food, which was of poor quality.

A must-try when visiting Frankfurt! The pizza is incredibly delicious. The best ever. High-quality ingredients, not from a can, simply an explosion of flavor. It's a cozy place, with lovely background music and very friendly staff.

The 2cl limoncello is very strong. I threw up and am slightly tipsy. That's why I left my phone at Rewe. The pizzas are fantastic, and the bruschetta is the best bruschetta I've ever had 😃

The food (we had pasta dishes) was good, and the portion sizes were decent. I can recommend it with a clear conscience. I think the price is on the upper end of what's acceptable. The ambiance is average; you can also sit outside. The service was friendly and attentive.

We wanted a delicious pizza, but unfortunately, the pizzas were very salty and dry. We were surprised how this restaurant got such good reviews. It was also very noisy because of the neighboring café. It's not possible to sit there in peace with your family. The only positive thing: the servers were very friendly.

My wife and I witnessed the degrading and humiliating treatment the staff gave the waiters. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any establishment and is simply disgraceful. Without your waiters, you would be nothing. Just think about it!

I rarely write reviews, but this place truly deserves a warning to others. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was atrocious. A man around 50, who seemed to be the host or manager at the front, was extremely cold and unwelcoming. He insisted on seating us at the worst possible table, right by the entrance, despite the restaurant being half-empty. It wasn't until we told him we were about to leave that he reluctantly offered another option. Unfortunately, things didn’t improve. Our waitress was shockingly rude and dismissive throughout the evening. To make matters worse, she walked between tables coughing openly without even attempting to cover her mouth — completely unhygienic and unacceptable, especially in a hospitality setting. There was absolutely no sense of professionalism. The whole atmosphere felt like they were just trying to make a quick buck without any care for the customer’s experience. We left feeling like we had just been part of some poorly run operation, not a proper restaurant. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else!

Best pizza place. Absolutely delicious pizza and patata, and the salad was great too. We were in Frankfurt for four days and went to Nonno's three times.

The pizza was okay, relatively tasteless, and a bit overpriced. The "homemade" tiramisu was inedible and most likely frozen and thawed. The service was amateurish. Our drinks were simply forgotten, and we had to remind them again. In the end, the iced tea was the best part of our visit.

Everything was perfect! We came here because of the reviews and were not disappointed. Honest, good pizza, great service.

We had a delicious meal here on Friday and Saturday. Pizza was tasty (Friday) and pasta was good too (Saturday). Both were nice and hot in terms of temperature. I like. The pizza and pasta both had a nice spicy taste. We were very late on Saturday. Warmly received. And we also got a coffee on the house, even though they had already cleaned the machine. Very simple. Atmosphere 4 stars. The music is quite loud with a strong beat. Otherwise nice thing.

They had a racist attitude, they never attended to me, they didn't even look at me. It could have been a great meal but it is terrible service for tourists.

They threatened us with racist attitude when we asked for food to take away. Plus, they made us wait to take our order when they served others before us. It was the worst experience I've had in Europe in so many years.

We had a pizza and an Italian salad. Both were super tasty. Pizza was very reminiscent of Italy. The salad had a very tasty basal mico dressing. The service staff is very friendly. Price-performance ratio is okay for Frankfurt. The ambience is very simple.

The pizza was good, no question. But overall no better/worse than other pizzas from such an oven. The service bothered me: it doesn't always have to be super friendly, but I think it's important to be attentive and courteous. When the neighboring table asked, we responded with snappy answers and our payment process was also dragged out with a moral sermon. The ambience was rather wildly thrown together and the crates of drinks were piled up everywhere. Doesn't have to be.

Where should I start? - The waiters are just amateurs and cannot behave professionally - Pizza Tonno was soggy and not edible - sometimes a long waiting time, sometimes you are completely forgotten while other guests who ordered before us have already received their food... - Cutlery was dirty, that's not possible!!!
