California Sushi in Aachen

At the beginning, it didn’t come to my and my friends attention. What really surprised us was the discounts and the prices, so we decided to try it. I would definitely come back, good prices, the staff very kind, the place just a bit quiet for me, but ok. The sushi tasted very good 🍱 🍣 😋😋😋😋😋 and the prices were cheaper, in comparison to other places I have gone.

Think this is the best sushi I’ve had. My daughter had the Wakame salad, which she always has, and said it was the best she’d had. We had a couple of the mixed platters, it was fresh and tasty and it was excellent value too. We ate on a Monday evening so it was quiet, service was attentive. Only in Aachen for 2 days, but may come back here for lunch or dinner on day 2.

Small restaurant with delicious sushi and great prices. Service was friendly and quite quick. They offer relatively few drinks (no beer, nothing alcoholic). Nevertheless, we enjoyed it. You can pay by card.

Looking for a good sushi restaurant, I stumbled upon California Sushi. It turns out to be a small restaurant with delicious sushi. For two people, I chose gyozas and a wakame salad as an appetizer, followed by a sushi maki mix, a maki with tuna and avocado, and a California roll. It was more than enough. We finally found a great place to satisfy our sushi cravings :) They serve drinks like Fritz (Cola). Our favorite. Dine-in and takeout are available. Payment by card or cash is accepted.

Never been disappointed at the other previous locations, on the contrary. Here the boss himself stands behind the counter and prepares the sushi. We always order a platter for 40 euros for 2 people and that's what we get in the photo. A recommendation!

My girlfriend and i always come here whenever we feel like getting sushi as the Set menus are very affordable and we could share them. Overall quality of the sushis are excellent, the taste as well. The staff are also very friendly and quick to service. The chef sometimes even gives us complimentary cucumber makis. Would definitely recommend if you are craving sushi but are still on a budget. The price-taste ratio is excellent

A super nice, clean atmosphere with relaxing music. There aren't many tables, but that also makes it feel a bit more intimate. The food was super fresh and delicious. The salmon was particularly great, as was the eel. We had sashimi for starters and various rolls for main courses, all perfectly seasoned. The staff was friendly and kept asking if we needed anything else. Definitely one of the best value for money in Aachen. We paid €85 for two people, including sashimi, two drinks, and several different rolls. We were stuffed and very satisfied. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Food taste good and very affordable. Compared to the price, I was very satisfied. The only critique I have is I didn't expect that the gyoza would be deep fried instead of pan steamed/fried and it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but otherwise great. The chef/owner also informed me that all their products are halal, so my muslim folks can eat here without hesitation.

It is a relatively small restaurant but with a very calm and pleasant atmosphere. The food is very delicious and the fish seems fresh. The food delivery was fast, except that there is only one waitress for the entire place who also has to be in the kitchen which means that she is not always present or attentive, however that does not make the experience bad at all because the food is very good.

Went there for the first time today, ordered locally. The preparation was really quick and the employees are all super friendly. For us the best sushi in Aachen, we will definitely come back :)

The baked chicken sushi was delicious! They should leave out the toppings on the sashimi, as it spoils the flavor. Service was fast and friendly! According to the sticker on the door, the meat is halal; perhaps they should add a certificate or write it on the menu, but otherwise, it's great.

Beware, a lot of the reviews hereunder are from a different restaurant called the same. I fell prey of the 4.8 stars and decided to book for my husband s birthday. It was possibly one of the worst sushi restaurants I have eaten in. The sushi was mediocre at best, the people were kind and for that I m grateful, but the service was not really good. The lights are too bright which really spoiled the ambiance.

Is it even legal to cook such delicious sushi?) Now I have to travel 150 kilometers once a month to visit this establishment.

I haven't been there in years. To be honest, that's a good thing. In terms of style, it's a matter of taste. But the rest is just made and good. By the way, I was particularly disappointed with the products offered there. Whether hamburger, cheeseburger or Big Mac. Everything just tasted like cardboard and industrial. I am firmly convinced that things used to be better. The prices are also not compatible with such poor quality. Conclusion! Another visit No thanks.... For the money I paid there, I get better quality in a castle restaurant and it probably tastes better everywhere, even in the simplest chip shop.

California Sushi offers a solid experience, but there were lights and shadows. My dish was initially over fried, which was disappointing. However, the chef was very friendly and re-prepared it without any problems. The second version was significantly better and showed their commitment to customer satisfaction. Overall okay, but with room for improvement!

prices are very student friendly, there is a wide variety of food to choose from, they also have rice bowls (though the karaage bowl was a little dry) the sushi is immaculate for the price!! For 3 (very hungry) people we paid around 53€, including drinks and multiple sushi plates and a rice bowlYou also have to note that it is quite a small restaurant so if it gets full there is a waiting queue, and also not that much staff, but we wouldn’t say that it was slow! So thats a great plus! We really loved it and would definitely come back again 🍣😊

Perfect as always! They can always surprise you by delicious tastes of their sushi’s. Even they welcomed us with an extra dish to taste a new kind of sushi.

We went there tonight, after checking all the sushi restaurant in Aachen on google. This one was really close to the Christmas market so we decided to have a try! Best decision ever! The team is really welcoming, the service is quick and clean! The plates are all beautifully served and all the food we tried was extra fresh. We had the « surprise menu » for two. The price was more than correct! And all the sushi were different and delicious. We also took some sashimis, that were fresh and tasty! We are sushi lovers and we tasted that the chef was also someone who loves his job and is proud of what he cooks. It was our first time there but we will definitely drive the 30mn from Belgium to Aachen to eat there again! Thank you for this amazing meal.

This was the fourth time visiting this fantastic sushi house. I have to say the sushis, the way of serving and the staff manner was the best. All the four times i visited i was completely satisfied. A small, family run sushi shop! The sushi was very good and was always freshly prepared. You had to wait a bit, but it didn't take long. There were very fair prices and special features that were not yet known. Everything was clean and hygienic. In the display you can see the ingredients and the work in progress. This is very transparent! The furnishings are also nice. They got very creative with the ceiling. However, there are not many places available, so it can be a bit tight. The service was very friendly. In addition to the owner, his daughter also served us. The drinks were all served correctly - there was no need to ask who ordered what. It was a very good visit!

My favorite sushi shop in Aachen. Very, very tasty no matter what you order. Everything fresh and prepared with a lot of passion. Sitting outside is nice, it could be a bit stuffy inside (small place) so I recommend take-outs or eating there if the weather is good. I hope they deliver soon too!

Delicious sushi at fair prices! We were there for lunch and were not disappointed. The “chef” was super nice and served us at the table since the service staff was unavailable that day. The sushi we prepared was very tasty, and we particularly liked the tempura prawns as a starter. But the Dragon Rolls are also recommended. There were also 4 extra rolls. Thank you for that! Excellent sushi - freshly prepared in front of you, of course - at an acceptable price. We had dumplings and crispy chicken as starters and a large California sushi plate each. A very friendly service. The restaurant is not big - more of a sit-down restaurant, but we felt very comfortable. Thank you.

Inside it's "just" a small snack bar, but the food is great at a very fair price and the service is super nice. We sincerely apologized for any minor inconveniences and at the end we got a few extra sushis on the house. Absolute recommendation! :)

Ramen Chicken miso soup with no real chicken, instead fried dough with chicken skin. We ordered rolls with baked eel, but in fact they got them with fish skin. I attach a photo. The Maki were delicious, everything was ok.

I was positively surprised by Gyoza, the feeling was juicy and the outside crunchy, also a fair portion. There is a great variety of sushi and I like their take on Californian rolls. I'll be back for the Tiger special with the flammed salmon. Friendly staff and good location, definitely will revisit.

The service and the boss are super nice, fast and friendly. When we were there on Saturday, the restaurant was completely booked - a reservation is recommended. P.s.: I've been there three times and found the food excellent every time. It is still a clear and unequivocal recommendation. It's worth making a reservation, even on working days, as it's very small.

Whenever I visit Aachen from Hamburg, my first stop is California Sushi. Always nice and friendly and of course super delicious. I can only recommend it to everyone.

This small restaurant offers everything your sushi heart desires. The chef puts his heart and soul into it and even on busy days, like when I visited, he has time to make a little small talk with the guests present. The food was incredibly tasty and was delivered quickly. I'll definitely come back to Aachen for this restaurant!

Best sushi in Aachen. We always put our records together ourselves. This way you get what you like the most. The boss loves his sushi and you can taste it too. In addition, with his practiced skills, the preparation is really quick, so you can get your delicacies on the table in no time. In terms of price it is also absolutely great. So far we have always paid less than €50 for drinks for two people and were completely full and happy afterwards.
