Café Restaurant Schwarze in Bad Wildungen

A good kitchen that, at 9:00 PM, only serves main courses and refuses to offer appetizers. By 9:45 PM, they had even stopped serving coffee, and there was no cognac either. All this despite being open until 11:00 PM. A mixed experience.

The cakes here are very good and handmade. There were four of us, one in a wheelchair and two with walkers. We had no problem sitting on the terrace, but we could have sat inside as well. However, it was extremely hot and very crowded, and therefore quite noisy. Unfortunately, we had to wait a while for service, and I had to ask for yours. Despite that, we enjoyed our visit.

Very tasty, absolutely recommendable

We went to the game buffet at Schwarze last night and were delighted. The buffet was beautifully presented and offered a wide selection of delicious dishes. The service was quick and incredibly friendly; our table was checked regularly, empty plates were cleared, and we were asked if everything was alright and if we were enjoying our meal. Many thanks to the young server and the young man who served us.

The food and drinks at Cafe Schwarze are very good. However, the coffee arrives 20 minutes after the cake 🍰. It's a very popular cafe, but because of the large number of guests, it feels more like a cozy subway station.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. The cakes and pastries at the counter also looked extremely delicious, but we didn't eat them. Highly recommended and good value for money. We would come back, and if dogs can behave, they are welcome (some have sofas at the tables).

Very nice breakfast buffet, friendly service and absolutely ok price

I highly recommend the Saturday brunch with orange juice for €15.90 because it's truly worth it. The buffet was extensive and stocked with every delicious treat you could wish for. Refills were frequent, so you never felt like you were running out. Coffee isn't included in the price and is an extra charge, but the cappuccino tasted wonderful. The service was very friendly and welcoming and gave me a table for four right by the buffet so I could easily reach the buffet with my crutches. I thought that was great. The afternoon cake is also not to be missed. I'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience at all. The waiter was very unfriendly and even raised his voice. My latte tasted like coffee grounds and was simply undrinkable. When I asked, I was told they didn't have any new coffee and that I would still have to pay for it. Absolutely outrageous! I certainly won't be back.

The breakfast buffet was delicious. The selection was huge, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, very attentive. The buffet was constantly refilled. There were four of us. Three people bumped into the lamps, hence the deduction for ambience. 😉

Even when busy, the staff remains friendly and strives to please everyone. The food (cheese spaetzle) was delicious. Reservations are recommended, otherwise you'll need to be prepared. The value for money is good.

The service was very good, and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious, but I would have liked more vegan options. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't offer much. That's disappointing. The vegan burger was good, though.

Great café The service was really great. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food was also quite good. I had Kaiserschmarrn, which was delicious, but unfortunately didn't quite live up to my expectations. I was expecting Austrian Kaiserschmarrn, but it was more German, but still delicious. Otherwise, my companion and I would have appreciated a larger selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Another drawback was that there was a mushroom risotto with Parmesan cheese, which was labeled vegetarian, but Parmesan is not vegetarian. A problem that many restaurants also have, however. The ambiance there was also very inviting. It was extremely cozy, and you immediately felt very comfortable.

Great. I'd love to come back! If you're not familiar with the place and you enter, you think it's a nice place, and you don't even think you can get hearty food there. It also smells completely neutral, so I thought they didn't serve schnitzel! Even a small mistake when taking my order was promptly taken care of to satisfy me! But I want to mention one thing in particular!!! Warning!!! This men's restroom is by far the best, the most amazing, the most stylish, the most brilliant, the most impeccable, the most well-maintained, I've never seen anything like it!! If they put a bar table there, I'd eat at it!! That alone, besides the food, is worth a visit!!!!! Hats off!!!!! I would post a photo here, but you have to see it in person and in color!

A lovely, cozy atmosphere with beautiful decorative accessories. Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. The food was a seasonal menu with a good selection and was very tasty. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time during rehab.

Delicious cakes, delicious coffee, and a wonderful ambiance are also included. The all-you-can-eat grill option is also very appealing.

The food was delicious 😋, but the service was practically nonexistent. The plates were only cleared after the meal upon request, there were no drinks available, and when we wanted to pay, we were rudely asked to go to the counter after asking twice. Even though the food was delicious, service isn't what you'd expect from us. They could have earned more from us, too bad 🤷‍♀️ two stars just for the food.

We had steak and a pulled chicken burger. Kudos to the kitchen. The steak was medium (perfectly cooked). The burger is highly recommended. Service was very good, friendly, and courteous. The server could have smiled a bit now and then 😃... (he must have been stressed), but he was still very attentive and quick. We highly recommend this restaurant, though. The cakes are simply divine.😍 P.S. A quick note (no offense!) Check the women's restroom more often; some guests think the sink is a shower 🙈😉

I cannot recommend this restaurant...service...the staff didn't feel like working...the food was nothing special, but the price was worth it...my plate for the meal was damaged...I was not satisfied at all, including my companion...I will not be visiting this restaurant again...

Very good value for money at the breakfast buffet (see photo of the receipt). The vegan selection was rather tokenistic—a spread and a bowl of eggplant something. The portion of almond milk with coffee costs an extra 50 cents. However, it's foamy and smells of marzipan.

Very nice restaurant. We had tarte flambée and the cheeseburger made with Hessian beef. Tasted good, nothing exceptional, but technically the cheeseburger was unfortunately a disaster. The burger bun was rock hard on the top, the bottom was good. The patty was tasty, but only on half the burger. If there was no meat in the first three of seven bites, it was simply a technical failure. (It was simply prepared incorrectly; it was more like a small, thick meatball in a bun than a burger patty.) Regular fries were served in a mini fryer. 5 stars visually, 4.5 stars for taste, BUT The portion size of the fries was more for a 40-kilo pensioner, so 1 star, not for a 100-kilo man, even though I already had a large soup with Maultasche (a kind of dumpling) as a starter. Overall, 3 out of 5 stars, barely. The service and dessert earned the points here.

Cafe was nice enough. Cappuccino and cake were good. Service distant and robot like. No smiling. Nice terrace though and can recommend to visit. We were walking on the pavement in front of this cafe, when a German car thought he would park where we were walking. As we didn't jump aside, he even honked. It was a very strange situation. An elderly man (75-80)exited the vehicle, when i was already inside the cafe to choose what cake I wanted. When I went back to the terrace, he was there and tried to say something, but I replied I didn't understand him, as i don't speak German. I said this in German obviously. He should have spent some of the money his car costs on some manners.

We came here for dinner and then again for cake. Both were good. The atmosphere was a bit more upscale.

The food was good, but not amazing. The salad arrived after we reminded them, after we'd already eaten half of our meal. It wasn't particularly tasty. Overall, the price was rather inflated.

Luckily, I was there alone today, and my timing was also good. I got the last available seat inside. Both the black burger and the cappuccino were delicious. Considering the crowd, the waiters were relaxed and barely showed the stress of lunchtime.

Great restaurant/café! We went there for lunch and it was delicious. The surf and turf burger was amazing. The sodas and spritzers are delicious. The ice cream and cake selection is excellent. The menu includes gluten-free dishes, which is nice. There are plenty of kids' dishes and even children's cutlery. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is highly recommended. The menu offers savory and sweet dishes, as well as coffee and cake. The dishes are very tasty. The service is generally good, but on our second visit, we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to take our order.

I was really pleasantly surprised. We were there with a group of 13 people. I spoke to the lady who brought us drinks about my gluten intolerance. She said I'd check if we had gluten-free rolls. Long story short, I had a full breakfast from the buffet (including gluten-free rolls). It's a bit of a shame that there's no coffee at breakfast, and only drinks outside the menu have to be paid for separately (the price might have to be raised a bit). I was definitely pleasantly surprised.

The food was delicious, but the waiter was very taciturn. After the main course, we asked for the menu again to order dessert. The waiter walked past us several times, and we had to wait so long that we went home without dessert.

Even though we arrived without a reservation on a Saturday evening at the busiest time, the staff were very friendly and even managed to get a small corner table for us (two people). After a short wait, we were served two perfect veal schnitzels at a reasonable price, along with a freshly poured beer. They tasted very good (should a slightly larger veal be available on our next visit, we wouldn't be upset either), so we devoured all the side dishes and were satisfied. We were here for Sunday brunch with our dog. The buffet was good, with everything you could imagine, both savory and sweet. They also offer fruit, yogurt, pancakes, etc. It was good to have made a reservation in advance. It was busy, but that didn't pose a problem for the service. Any extras, like coffee or tea, were always quickly ordered and brought. We'd be happy to go again!

We've been there twice, for coffee at lunch and dinner in the evening. The service was excellent, especially Mr. Jamo. We asked him his name. He's incredibly hardworking and incredibly friendly. We're from Mannheim and know the industry, and he's a great employee at the restaurant. The food selection and quality are also 5 stars, and the decor is very nice. Staff very friendly and nice, a younger employee spreads unnecessary hassle, runs to individual tables several times to do new work, moving chairs, clearing the table, bringing cutlery to the table and then realizing that napkins are still missing. You just have to organize yourself better. Maybe just a snapshot?? But the restaurant is definitely recommended.

Good service, nice atmosphere, burger top, vegetarian dish (Asian vegetable pan) bad: frozen vegetables, overcooked and over-salted, fried noodles too greasy. For me, a meal is only really good if I feel good afterwards. This was not the case here. A plus for the fresh sprouts, however.

Personal total unhöflich. Haben uns zwei Hugo bestellt, leider war im Hugo Zitronenscheiben, das heißt Hugo hat mehr nach Zitrone geschmeckt als nach Holunderblütensirup. Obwohl ich nur zwei kleine Schluck davon getrunken habe und mich auch beschwert habe, kam keine Entschuldigung, im Gegenteil der Kellner wurde immer lauter, sehr unangenehme Situation. Meine Begleitung hat ihm auch bestätigt, dass durch die Zitrone den Geschmack vom Holunder kam vorhanden und es säuerlich war. Als Zitrone Limo könnte es gut durchgehen. Mein Fazit nie mehr dort hin.

I won't go there anymore. Staff totally unfriendly. Two Hugo were ordered, the Hugo was cloudy and served with lemon slices, I generally don't like lemon, but the Hugo should have the taste of elderflower syrup and not lemon and sour. After we complained about the service, there was no apology - on the contrary, the waiter got louder and louder, so we simply paid and left without drinking our lemon soda. Very unpleasant situation. It's a shame, the food wasn't bad, but with that kind of service, no thanks

We had lunch. Steak resembled the sole of a shoe. Had to wait an hour for the food order to be taken. We also had to wait 45 minutes for dessert, ice cream for the children. The rooms were bright and friendly. Waitress was also very friendly.

Highly recommended! Very nice and fast (sometimes too fast 😊) employees. My food wouldn't even be warmed up when I went to the toilet (which is not a given). The interior is super pretty and modern. The food is a little more expensive, but very tasty. They have a large selection of cakes and tarts!

My “bruschetta” arrived ice cold – as if the bread had been taken straight from the fridge. The salad on the plate was dry and looked anything but fresh. The burger meat was cooked through on the outside, but still cold on the inside. Really bad food, I'm even afraid it'll make me sick. A really sad performance from the kitchen of this restaurant.

The atmosphere is great. We were disappointed with the food. Salmon with curry is all put on one plate with the fat dripping down it. The plaice fillet is breaded and fried. My daughter got food poisoning from it and is now in bed on our holiday day.

It's bustling and lively here. But that doesn't matter because there is plenty of space and you never feel alone. However, if you are looking for peace and quiet with a low-stimulus environment, you are definitely wrong here. There is a wide variety of food; the place is definitely more than just a café! Unfortunately, I cannot comment on this.

Bruschetta wasn't toasted enough, my cheese patties were almost cold and were warmed up again in the microwave. The salmon wasn't grilled, the noodles weren't fried just boiled.🙈🙈🥗

I can only report positive things. We went for breakfast on Sunday. I recommend: urgently reserve in advance. It's full! Breakfast time is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. So absolutely sufficient. We had a very nice spot in a corner by the window. TOP! Now to the important thing...The buffet left nothing to be desired. Even though it is probably very busy on weekends, I think that's understandable after what we've had over the last two years, everything was orderly and quiet at the buffet. Despite so many guests, the entire café was nice and quiet, so you didn't have to feel disturbed by the conversations of other guests. Of course, it can happen that you stand in line at the buffet for a short time. But we had time. The selection of dishes is absolutely great. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, meat loaf, tomato/mozzarella, countless types of rolls, and what I really liked was that FRESH fruit salad was offered. It really is that easy. You don't have to put anything out of a can there. Fresh fruit and that gives the whole buffet an additional touch. Great! The price includes one glass of orange juice per guest. Coffee/tea is exclusive. But it's not a problem. Two large coffees and the buffet doesn't cost €20, I think. A really perfect breakfast. I also liked coffee. Including a small jug of hot milk. I also noticed that all the employees were very attentive. Don't be alarmed, but with well over 100 guests it was still calm and organized. If something at the buffet ran out, e.g. bacon, it took less than 5 minutes for bacon to be refilled. Having a team like that makes me a little humble these days. When everyone is motivated and understands and loves their work. When everyone works together and prepares such a great breakfast for the guest... I can only say THANK YOU to the team at Café Restaurant Schwarze. Keep it up......!!!!! Finally, a little criticism. I was looking for hand disinfection. After I was at the buffet and touched the cutlery that all the other guests at the buffet use, I asked for disinfectant stands to be set up in the restaurant in the still prevailing pandemic. I touch the cutlery like hundreds of other guests at the buffet and then my food at the table. This is how the virus continues to transmit. Then I go to the toilet every time. Luckily there was a disinfectant dispenser hanging there! Please set up parts in the restaurant so that the guest has the opportunity to disinfect their hands. Thanks! Update 02/2025: Breakfast is simply PERFECT even on weekdays😋 The selection at the buffet left nothing to be desired. In my opinion, really high quality products. Liver sausage and Stracke sausage tasted really good and in my opinion they came from the local area, without me naming a name 😁 Fruit was made from fresh fruit. No canned fruit! Very tasty fruit. I love it like I'm on vacation with mango, pineapple, melon etc. These are real tropical vitamin bombs. Café was also great. Overall, the breakfast, the quality of the food and the service/friendliness/attention of the staff are really worth mentioning 🙏❤️

We wanted to have breakfast there with 10 people on Easter Sunday. I was told on the phone that the check-in would be at 11:30 a.m. and then we had to leave. When I politely asked if we could stay seated because we would like to chat a bit and have a drink, I was slightly annoyed and replied that that wasn't possible and that we would have to look for another restaurant and then simply hung up. Nothing so unfriendly has ever happened to me. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

A restaurant in Bad Wildungen worth visiting. They have a varied menu and a wide variety of cakes and desserts to taste. The waiters are very friendly and there is a very good atmosphere. The food is very delicious and well presented.

We've eaten there several times and it's always been great. Last time I ordered a roulade, which unfortunately didn't taste that good. But other than that I only have positive things to say.
