Café-Restaurant am Rubbenbruchsee in Osnabrück

We used the café as a starting and ending point for our walk around the lake. We warmed up with tea and coffee in the café. The selection of cakes and tarts looked very appealing. It was the wrong time for us, otherwise we would certainly have ordered this too.

Great for a drink or a waffle on the terrace. Unfortunately the breakfast is bad. Little choice, people crammed tightly together at a table and very loud. Unfortunately never again!

Unfortunately not recommended. We were there with a larger group. First there was soup and sandwiches. Neither was particularly good... soup way too salty and the slices looked like they were made and served within a minute. The cake was partly still frozen. The service was nice. However, it is not appropriate to take slices of cucumber from a plate with your finger and then leave it for the guest... Accordingly, it was the last time we were there. It's a shame actually. You could get a lot out of the restaurant!

Leider eine totale Enttäuschung. Preis 28,90 und alle 20 Minuten wurde ein Hauch nachgefüllt, obwohl es restlos ausgebucht war. Viele Fertigprodukte, geringe Auswahl aufgrund leerer Platten. Preis Leistung haben deutlich Luft nach oben. Für uns keine Wiederholung!

Essen mittelmäßig, Preise im oberen Bereich, unehrliche Abrechnung. Wir gehen da nur etwas trinken, und sogar dann wird der Zahlbetrag vom Personal aufgerundet

Dear Ms. Kenk, dear Team Café am Rubbenbruchsee, our extended family experienced a wonderful celebration with you on August 24th, 2024 on the occasion of my 70th birthday! The reception with a non-alcoholic cocktail was perfect for all 3 generations! The brunch was very rich and very tasty with soup, fish platters, cold cuts, cheese, egg dishes, chopped vegetables, fruit, quark and mousse. Crispy rolls, fine bread and delicious juices complemented the offering. Our vegetarians and vegans were also very satisfied. And with the best: 18 children aged 18 years to 18 months had great fun outside, were able to run, ride a pedal boat, splash around in the water and have fun in the playground. Then a finger of water against the sultriness! Therefore, the celebration was also a success for the parents and grandparents. The youngest, however, slept through the final leisurely coffee with freshly baked apple and plum cake and vegan chocolate cake, after she had previously eaten her big brother's sumptuous chocolate mousse. We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful day!

The food is OK. The prices too. The atmosphere outside (in summer) is great. The service is OK if you don't expect much. The only problem is when you want to eat something. It feels like every other time the sentence “the kitchen is about to close” or “the kitchen is already closed” comes up. We had problems twice with cake to go on Sundays. For example, the cream on the cream cake was bad.

It's been a long time since I went to that coffee today. I had my dog ​​with me and was looked at stupidly and asked if my dog ​​wouldn't make a mess or go here either. Of course I denied this. Then I sat down at a larger table with a companion so that I could sit on the bench. The coffee was empty at this time. The waitress then came to tell us that if a larger group was coming, we would have to sit somewhere else. In order. But as I said the coffee was completely empty. For €8.90!!! we ordered a waffle with Nutella. (see photo) We could have bought two Nutella jars for that price. Since it was very cold in the coffee (conservatory), I asked if she could please turn on the heater above us. This was denied. It was really freezing cold, the heaters next to us were also off and the outside temperature was 8 degrees. Overall, the service wasn't really friendly or tried to be friendly. Really a shame! We could have saved ourselves the visit.

A beautiful place that we have visited many times. From October onwards there are always waffles there, which is why we went to the café again a few days ago. Unfortunately, we found that the waffle portions were halved, but the price remained the same. Instead of two waffles like last year, you now only get one - and that for 8.50 euros. When we asked, we were told that the portions were too large for many guests. You can understand that, but we still find it a bit outrageous to keep the price.

Was there for the first time. The surrounding area invites you to take a walk and linger. In the café/outdoor area I had a coffee ☕️ and fresh waffles with cherries 🍒 and ice cream 🍨. It was very tasty 😋.

During my vacation I wanted to experience something special. Since I wanted to explore the lake, this cafe was perfect - they even offered boat rides! From the water I was able to fully enjoy the beauty of the lake. Afterwards I sat relaxed on the bank and treated myself to an ice cream. The staff were super friendly and both the food and drinks were fantastic. The cafe really has a magical atmosphere. I've even been there several times because there are always exciting events going on. Definitely a must when you are in Osnabrück! :D

€3.70 for a half-full cup I think coffee is outrageous. This is called shaving without Foam, once and not again.

We celebrated a company anniversary with our company in the restaurant at Rubbenbruchsee and were completely satisfied. We received professional advice in advance when planning. The celebration was wonderful, the buffet was very tasty and something suitable for all tastes was served, the service was very attentive, friendly and accommodating. We all felt completely at home and would love to come back!

We had nice weather and were able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings outside on the terrace. The food was tasty. Menu is manageable. Even though there was a lot of activity, the food was served quite quickly. It was a pleasant stay.

Ordered a coffee to go with oat milk. You get a coffee créma and when you ask about the oat milk you are told that it is already in there. However, the coffee is simply a créma without oat milk. We felt really ripped off and then had to pay €4.00 for it. Absolutely overpriced.

Price-performance ok, but nothing special in terms of selection, fast food, cakes and drinks are pretty standard. It's not worth the trip, there's hardly any parking space directly at the café... a no go... traffic lights and entrance systems are still not in operation. P+R 750m away. It is of course the excursion destination in Osnabrück. But - and that's nice - you don't just rely on this advantage of Roth's location, but rather convince you with good service, good cake, and of course the great ambience.

We were desperately looking for a place to have lunch in the Osnabrück area and found it in the Café Restaurant at Rubbenbruchsee. The restaurant has had busier and better times. The food was okay, but a lot of it came from the freezer and the can/bucket. But it was still tasty. The waiter who brought the dog a bowl of water was very nice and attentive. The whole thing was kind of bleak, in this case a little background music would have broken up the depressed mood. I know that the catering industry is struggling and is desperately looking for staff and guests. It is not easy. But you can also clean signs and remove cobwebs and it will look a little more inviting. And when the motorhome parking space opens, there might be more to do again 😉

Breakfast was good and plentiful

The Rubbenbruchsee is beautiful and definitely worth a trip. But if you want a cold drink, you not only have to spend a lot of money, but you also get wine from plastic cups and only when the service wants to (it was a quiet day without many customers), which is a real shame, as it's a restaurant /Bar by the lake could definitely get more out of it.

The food was cold. Price-performance ratio not acceptable. Used/dirty beer glass was brought to the table. With every comment we made, the waiter became more and more unfriendly. After a short discussion with the shop owner and the waiter, we were given a schnapps and dessert as a courtesy. That was very nice and ok. We will not visit this restaurant again, but this review is not intended to influence other visitors. It is only intended to improve the points of criticism.

We sat on the terrace. There are mainly places in the shade here. Unfortunately it took a very long time for the food to arrive. I cannot recommend decaffeinated coffee here. The salad was disappointing in terms of price and value (just standard ingredients... nothing creative/special). The vegetable curry was ok; However, there is very little meat.

Oh well, - Cake was frozen in the middle - Raspberry lemonade was so sweet that it was inedible. I didn't drink it, but it was charged despite the note ("inedible") - Coffee was marginal and the note that if you ask for milk you will be charged something more was meant nicely, but why charge €1? - for 2x cake, 1x coffee, 1x latte, 1x undrunk soda €24.60 😫 Thank you, goodbye Thanks to the location, you can afford a lot here. Really sad.

We went for a walk by the lake and just had a drink on the terrace. The service was friendly and quick. However, the seating is so simple and uncomfortable to sit on that I wouldn't come back for a longer visit to eat.

Very good breakfast. Coffee and tea included. Sometimes a bit loud when there are large groups. With a view of the lake...it's always great there.

This visit was an absolute disgrace! The service was simply unacceptable. The waiter, an extremely unmotivated gentleman with glasses and a shirt, was not only disinterested but downright rude. When I politely asked him for sugar and a straw, I was met with a snide "Do you have one more wish?" fobbed off. This condescending manner spoiled the mood of the whole evening. My colleague and I were appalled by the rudeness and lack of respect. I've never experienced anything like this in a restaurant! If you value good service, avoid this place at all costs!

We went there for brunch on a Sunday and were disappointed. No croissants, the bacon strips weren't fried, the mini grilled sausages could have been a little darker. The potato rolls, scrambled eggs and the chocolate mousse, on the other hand, were very tasty. After the chocolate mousse was served, there were other desserts whose traditional taste I couldn't understand. It's nice to sit on the terrace and look out over the lake, but unfortunately we won't be going to brunch again.

I celebrated my wedding at the weekend in the café at Rubbenbruchsee. The atmosphere is great and the owner and the restaurant management are also very attentive and friendly. They are transparent and friendly in their communication and try to help you wherever they can. On the day of the celebration, the location stood out because of the always friendly and attentive waiters who had a good eye on everything. The space was beautifully decorated, the food was good, the people were friendly and the value for money is unbeatable! Gladly again at any time!

Location am See sehr schön. Frühstück reichlich Auswahl, aber leider hat man auf einiges länger warten müssen. (Croissants, Lachs). Getränke (0,4 Liter) recht teuer. Tisch bestellt für 8 Personen, wir kamen aber nur zu siebt. Mussten dann für das nicht anwesende 8jährige Kind die Hälfte des Preises bezahlen (leider unverschämt und so auch noch nie erlebt). Zahlung sehr unübersichtlich, es gab keine Einzelabrechnung. Kein Kassenbon ! Nur Ausdruck des EC-Beleges. Somit Berechnung nicht nachvollziehbar!

Plenty of tables available, we wanted a table in a more quiet corner because my wife cant handle too much noise. It was not reserved but we were told we couldnt sit there without explanation. We left as we didnt feel welcome.

The bratwurst had already absorbed the salt, so only one flavor dominated here: salt. When paying, the friendly service asked about it; The answer was that the trainee was alone in the kitchen and was definitely in love. No thanks, I won't eat here again. It was our first time having breakfast here and we were quite disappointed. The entire furnishings seem a bit careless and clearly outdated. We sat in the winter garden and froze there. The buffet was ok, the many homemade salads were very tasty. However, the final bill of over €60 for breakfast for two people shocked us. But the price/performance ratio doesn't fit at all here. We won't be coming back.

The visit to the café-restaurant at Rubbenbruchsee was the most terrible "gastronomic" experience I've had in years. I ate the “seasonal vegetable curry with chicken breast strips” for €21.80 and was served a ready meal. Frozen vegetables in a ready-made sauce with a sauce thickener, a terribly dry chicken (probably convenience food) and warmed rice (possibly from the day before). My partner ate the “linguine with broccolo chicken” for €16.90. Also half a ready meal with frozen broccoli and a cream sauce that did not contain any cream but was also an industrial product. The only positive thing about this place is the atmosphere on the terrace, which is not thanks to the operator but to the surrounding nature. Unfortunately, you have to leave at least one star on Google, which this establishment doesn't deserve due to its poor performance.

Und der Besitzer hat alle 1 und 2 * Sterne Rezensionen bei Google anwältlich löschen lassen. (Mail noch vorhanden!)
