Café Le Théâtre in Stuttgart

We finally made it to Café Le Théâtre. This establishment is a true hidden champion, especially since we hadn't even seen the entrance. Convinced by the online photos, we headed out ourselves to try some dishes. Unfortunately, the salmon wasn't available with potatoes, so we opted for bruschetta, a small salad, steamed bacon, a club sandwich, apple fritters, and Kaiserschmarrn. Everything tasted excellent, with the dessert being particularly noteworthy in terms of presentation and flavor. Given the location and the excellent taste, the final price of €75 + €5 tip (with two shandys) is absolutely reasonable. The only thing we had hoped for with a meal was the side salad. The service was friendly but seemed a bit busy due to the high volume of guests. We'll definitely be back soon to try breakfast, schnitzel, meat platter, cheese spaetzle, and hopefully the salmon with potatoes (instead of rice?), and we can recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there yet. However, it's advisable to make a reservation in advance on a weekend, despite the fact that there's plenty of space (we were lucky and got a table straight away without a reservation), so we'd be happy to go back!

It's a shame what has become of Cafe Le Theatre. The old management was better.

The place is really showing its age. The chairs are wobbly, the table is uneven and wobbly, and there's a meter of dust and dirt in every corner. It's a good thing we were there with the lights dimmed... To compensate, the latte was served cold, and any warning about it was simply laughed off. We deliberately decided not to eat! It was once a great place, but unfortunately, nothing remains. What a shame!

Even one star is too much! We just wanted to sit down in a café and enjoy a hot drink. Right at the entrance, the unfriendly waitress showed us to a table. Not even a minute after we sat down, she came to our table to take our order, even though we hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu. When we asked her for a minute, she left, rolling her eyes in annoyance, only to reappear at our table a moment later. It seemed like she wanted to get rid of us. Out of four people, three ordered something she didn't like. She insisted that it was a place to eat and drink, and that we had to order something, even if it was just water. Where does that happen? I would have understood if we hadn't actually ordered anything, but it was only one person who didn't want anything. Somehow, I got the feeling that we weren't welcome as customers and that they were trying to demonstrate this in every way possible. That was enough for us, so we just left and she didn't care at all. I don't understand the hype around this café; the decor is really cheap, the staff is awful, never again! I wouldn't spend a single cent there.

Things have unfortunately changed. New concept, with a new menu and dishes. I liked the old concept much better, and the tarte flambée was always great. It's no longer on the new menu. Furthermore, the new dishes are very small and far too overpriced. The service also leaves a lot to be desired. At first, we were turned away because they said everything was reserved, but all the tables were free. So a few minutes later, we made our own reservation online, and lo and behold, everything was free. When we went back later and got our table, after 1.5 hours, all the tables (except for 2) were still empty. So we had the strong feeling that we weren't welcome. A real shame. I won't be coming back.

Wasn't anything special Long wait for drinks

The café is nicely decorated and cozy. There is an extra charge of 1.50 euros for oat milk! Unfortunately, I think that's far too much, considering that it's now often the same price as normal milk in stores...

It's now called Hygge and is really recommended. Well-stocked menu and very friendly service.

Service is desperately poor, staff are rude and bad jokes are commonplace. The coffee is undrinkable and the iced coffee is a disappointing brew. Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have experienced such disrespectful treatment at this location. I definitely can't recommend it.

I love Le Theater🥰.One of my favorite cafes in Stuttgart to relax, I always like to come. The staff is very friendly🙂

We went to have a coffee in the afternoon but the waiter was trying to make our experience as bad as possible. Ignored us as long as possible, served us the worst ice coffee after we insisted and only after we asked for ice and coffee separately. At the end the card machine was not working but he made clear that the problem was me and my card. I will not come back to this place

The food blew me and the other 10 people who were eating there with me away. I haven't eaten such a great roast roast in a long time. The meat on the plate is beautifully presented without any tendons or flax. We will be back definitely

Somehow we have a worm in here. The service was slow, inattentive and not particularly friendly on several occasions. Update 3/2024: We wanted to give the restaurant a new chance after a long time and thought - cafe in front of the cinema - wonderful. After we waited almost 20 minutes for service (several times, yes, I'm coming straight from the waiter), even though it wasn't that busy, we moved on... without ordering anything.

The food was ok. But it used to be a lot better. You can tell that portions are being saved. The female waiter was ok. We were happy that we still paid her. Later we had a male waiter who was completely overloaded. He didn't manage to serve us even after we waved several times. But he found time to talk to the female guests! We then left. To the tenant or owner: How can you have so few staff on a Sunday??? Parts of the cafe were even cordoned off, and some of the tables hadn't even been cleared! After this experience this cafe died for us. There are other cafes in Stuttgart. They will be happy about our visit!

We were there today at 9 p.m. to have a drink and maybe a snack. Unfortunately we were greeted with: “The last round has already happened and the kitchen is already closed”. Without a greeting, despite the store being full and the official opening time being until 11 p.m. Then the waiter went to the next table and said: “last round”... We felt very unwanted! We've actually enjoyed going to Le Theater for years. It would be nice to have a statement here and to find out why we were "scared away" straight away

Long story short, wouldn't recommend this place! For a café, bad food may be overlooked...but bad (terrible and disrespectful, outright rude) service is inexcusable.

The place is nice but the waiter who worked today was rude and misbehaved. The other waiters are very nice and attentive.

We were there for breakfast in the morning and we all loved it. The food is nothing extraordinary, but very tasty and fresh! The waitress we had was also super accommodating and friendly.

We were there for breakfast yesterday and ordered the "2" avocado toasts with scrambled eggs once and the Mediterranean breakfast with scrambled eggs once. The service was friendly and accommodating - but apart from the fact that the prices on the website were no longer correct, the price-performance ratio was absolutely not right either! For 1 toast split in the middle with scrambled eggs almost €15 is in my opinion absolutely not appropriate! After years we gave this restaurant another chance, but it quickly became unnecessary. The prices are disproportionate.

It's somehow no longer what it used to be. Inside, areas are cordoned off and you can't sit where you want. Unfortunately, the waiter absolutely stank of sweat.

Really nice service and good cocktails

That was an emergency solution. On Saturday at breakfast time in Stuttgart all the cafés are full. So the café was empty, apparently there was a good reason for that. The staff tries hard, but the baked croissants are simply not appropriate for the price. Location and staff are good. The food quality is not recommended.

Tastes like it's freshly thawed...

Unfortunately the service experience was really disappointing!! We had to wait forever for our food and the waiters were extremely unfriendly. Then they just bring us coffee that no one had ordered, and in the end we have to pay for it too! It wasn't clear at all! It wasn't really possible to talk to them either - totally rude! It's a real shame, we had hoped for more. Something really has to change! Never again!

The waiters were extremely rude, the order was delayed and we were served unordered food. Even though we returned it, we were forced to pay. I have never experienced such bad service.

Very nice atmosphere in the Gloria Passage. Nice selection of coffee, smaller, tasty dishes and a few Swabian dishes. Friendly staff, well attended. There is also a separate smoking area

I actually like being in the theater, but the way this one waiter behaves is a disgrace. I noticed him several times with his rude and intrusive manner. Recently, when my friends and I asked for a table, this particular waiter boldly lied to us that there was no room left, even though we could see through the window that the café was almost empty Not only that, at the same moment some people even stood up and he still didn't give us the table.

Rude staff, you were interrupted several times in the conversation and asked to leave (9:20 p.m.) even though the store wasn't supposed to close until 11 p.m., according to the website. “Another wish?” “No thanks, not right now” - the answer “Pay!” Afterwards our drinks were taken from the table and I frantically drank my drink (half full). Unfortunately, a very unpleasant experience today, we were otherwise very happy there, but after something like that you think twice about coming back.

I have often been here alone or with friends but also in groups. The staff is very friendly and tries to be there for you promptly and fulfill all your wishes, even when it's busy. The food is delicious, although sometimes not quite hot. The restaurant/café is located in the Gloria Passage and can be reached from König, Bolz and Stephan streets. There is something like a terrace in a small courtyard. It is heated in winter and you are well protected from the heat in summer. Especially since the decoration with all the umbrellas is hanging. There is also a spacious, comfortable room for smokers.

Wollten kurz vor 21 Uhr rein wurden aber weggeschickt da zu wenig los war und die schließen wollten obwohl die Öffnungszeiten bis 23 Uhr sind

Leider haben sie uns um kurz vor 9 weg geschickt, (obwohl das Café bis 23:00 geöffnet hat), da nicht viel los war und sie zumachen wollten. Schlechter Service und unfreundlich.

Gibt nichts besser Café Restaurant in Stuttgart wie Café le Theatre !

Absoluter Tiefpunkt. Unbedingt meiden! Was für ein schrecklicher Laden.

Waren innerhalb der letzten Tage 2 mal im Theatre. Jedesmal wenig los. Trotzdem fast alle Tische reserviert, außer einiger 2er Tische. Wollten gerne auf Bank sitzen, waren aber alle reserviert. Auf Anfrage ab wann, hieß es "bald". Während unseres ganzen Aufenthaltes kam natürlich kein einziger Gast zu den reservierten Tischen. Absolut unmöglich. Früher gab es sowas nicht. Nachdem der "freundliche" Kellner von uns aufgrund seines dummen verhaltens natürlich kein Trinkgeld bekam, bekamen wir einige zynische und pampige Äußerungen zu hören. Hat wohl seinen Beruf verfehlt.

Der Bruder bringt immer auf Wunsch Kamillentee mit Honig. Damit bekommt ihr die 5 Sterne :)

Das Personal ist unfreundlich, ansonsten ein schönes Restaurant mit schönem außenbereich.

Toller Laden und Tolles Ambiente, die Nüli ist eine Top Bedienung !

Leider war eine Bedienung nicht sehr Kundenfreundlich :( Die Bestellung kleiner Getränke reichte nicht aus, um im Restaurant länger sitzen zu bleiben. Wir wurden deshalb aus dem Restaurant mit einem unfreundlichen "Tschüss" verwiesen. Außerdem mussten bei der Bestellung des zweiten Getränks schon alle Rechnungen bezahlt werden. Danke, nein Danke

Nette Location. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis durchschnittlich. Personal unverschämt.

unhöfliche Bedienung, Caffee ganz gut… Wurden angefahren wieso wir uns nicht beschwert haben, dass sie das Falsche gebracht haben…

Sehr nette Location, schönes Ambiente drinnen und draußen. Der Service ist wirklich nett und sehr freundlich, aber bei vollem Haus auch ein bisschen überlastet. Das Essen war bei meinem letzten Besuch nicht so toll. Das Clubsandwich war echt katastrophal. Die Pommes total weich und nicht kross, das Sandwich selbst trocken, die Gurkenscheiben zentimeterdick, die Pute ebenfalls komplett trocken. Ich wollte dem sehr Beschäftigten Personal keinen Stress machen, sonst hätte ich es komplett zurückgehen lassen. Bei fast 16.00€ sollte das besser sein! Trotzdem komme ich gerne wieder, denn bis aufs Essen war es sehr schön!

Tolles Ambiente, leckeres Essen und freundliches Personal.

Wollten Freitag morgens Frühstücken, sollte im CAFÉ Le Theatre ja kein Problem sein. Leider hat die Küche erst um 12 Uhr auf und somit war kein Frühstücken möglich… sehr schade. Bedienung war trotzdem sehr nett, Ambiente bissle alt und abgeratzt aber an sich gemütlich.

Es war mal ein nettes Cafe.. wird nur stark runter gewirtschaftet...kein Flair mehr

Wir waren heute Mittag im Le Théâtre und hatten eine wundervolle Zeit. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr schön und entspannt (trotz Innenstadtlage), der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, die Getränke und das Essen waren sowohl preislich vollkommen in Ordnung als auch geschmacklich wirklich lecker!! ❤️ Unser neues Stammcafé !! Jedem weiterzuempfehlen ❤️

Bin sehr gern im Café. Die Auswahl deckt jeden Geschmack.

The environment of the cafe is very nice and pleasant. However the drinks were not up to the expectations and the worst part of the experience was our waiter. It seemed more like he was mad at us for some reason, angry and unforgiving :) He didn't even thank my friends for tipping him. Although I saw another waiter who was very friendly and professional, so it might depend on your luck which waiter to receive, and when I'm meeting friends I don't want to count on luck for my afternoon not to be ruined :) He even asked us to pay 10 mins after we got our order, saying that it's because his shift ends soon, but for the rest our stay there, which was more than one and a half hours he was still there, serving tables. This was my first time going there, but my friends said they have been there before and the staff have not been the previously as well.

The food is ok You have to look for the waiters The bathrooms are dirty 🙈 The athmoshere is good but if the place is full then it is very loud and you have to yell in order to have a conversation, and headache is guaranteed in a couple of hours 😅

Sehr gemütlich und nett. Kaffee war lecker, gegessen haben wir nix. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Allerdings finde ich den Preisaufschlag von 1,50 Euro für Hafermilch unverschämt. Normalerweise bezahle ich dafür 0,50 - 0,70 Euro mehr, das ist angemessen und akzeptabel. Dieser Aufschlag ist frech. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne, hätten sonst 5 werden können.

Das Theatre war ja mal eine Café/Bar und somit bei mir und meinen Kumpels immer ne gute Anlaufstelle.Seit sie nur noch ein Restaurant sind,warn wir nur noch einmal da,das Essen war okay,und die alte Einrichtung ist halt noch immer Kult.Leider ist das Personal echt nicht der Burner und das es halt auch keine Cocktails mehr gibt ist mega schade.

Essen geht noch, aber was die Bedienung an geht ist es ganz miserabel. Als wir ankamen war der Tisch dreckig und ist auch so geblieben bis wir gegangen sind. Da gibt es ein Kellner der fragt ob alles in Ordnung sei, aber wenn er sieht, dass man mit essen fertig ist lässt er alles noch da. Abgeräumt wird hier nichts, da an anderen Tischen das gleiche war. Service geht anders.

Bin seit vielen Jahren ein treuer Kunde aber das was die letzten Male war ist ein Zustand. Wir warten mindestens 20 Minuten bis jemand kommt, dazu werden Bestellungen vergessen. Und das Essen kommt nicht zeitgleich entweder einer isst kalt oder alleine. Für mich war es erstmal das letzte mal das ich gekommen bin.

Essen und sonst stimmt die Qualität. Service war schon besser hat etwas nachgelassen und allgemein das strukturierte ist etwas verfallen
