Klosterkeller in Stuttgart

Quite a strange place with a weird vibe. The food was OK, but they somehow didn’t had beer?! In Germany?! Not to mention that the waitress wasn’t the most friendly person. Definitely first and last time there.

Unscheinbares Lokal in einem urigen, Jahrhunderte alten Keller. Sehr gemütlich. Sehr freundlicher Chef und Team. Sehr gute Lokale Weinauswahl, die perfekt auf die Speisekarte abgestimmt ist. Und jetzt kommt der Hammer: super leckere Salate, Maultaschen vom Metzger nebenan und perfekt zubereitete Rostbraten und Steaks. Ein Geheimtipp mitten im alten Ortskern von Zuffenhausen, wir freuen uns schon aufs nächste Abendessen dort!

Beautifully and lovingly furnished vaulted cellar. Were immediately served in a friendly manner. Had roast beef with bread once, monastery cellar toast with pork medallions and mushroom cream sauce (with fresh mushrooms), both with a delicious side salad

We felt very comfortable, the food was excellent. I had onion roast and my wife had pork tenderloin. Both were fried to perfection and delicious. Since I was still interested in the sour tripe, I ordered a portion, which I also really enjoyed. Service was friendly and accommodating. I can recommend it!

Food very tasty, authentically Swabian and freshly prepared. Staff very friendly, price/performance is great, I'll be happy to come back next time. Spezi had a bit of a strange aftertaste, otherwise absolutely top, clear recommendation.

I was there on July 8, 2024 with 7 colleagues based on a recommendation. I had previously made a table reservation and was surprised that the reservation was confirmed without my name being asked. We arrived on time at 7 p.m. and were the first guests. When we entered the basement it smelled damp and musty. Since there was seating in the entrance to the building, I asked if we could sit outside, to which the waitress replied that she would have to bring the food up (she wasn't really happy with it). Nevertheless, we took a seat in the open area. The drinks were recorded in writing: 4x Pils, 2x Cola and 1x Cola light instead of zero. First there were 3x Pils and then 1x Pils, then we asked what was still missing... The food order was similar, with 2x rib-eye steak with salad and farmer's bread and 5x Swabian treats being ordered. After 30 minutes the two rib eyes arrived. The remaining dishes took a while to arrive and the colleagues began to eat. There were two slices of brown bread in a bread basket, one slice had clear traces of mold. When I complained, the service staff took the bread basket and apologized with the note. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see that." She disappeared and shortly afterwards brought the same bread basket with two other slices, which of course were not consumed. The 5 missing dishes took another 40 minutes to arrive. This was excused by saying that the boss was alone in the kitchen today. N.B. There is no room for more people than just the cook. Finally the 5 plates arrived, arranged differently. The Käsespätzle (industrial goods with a hand-scraped look) were sometimes hard. No trace of onions on an onion roast. Mushroom cream sauce flavor Ready-made sauce enriched with canned mushrooms. The roast did not consist of a piece of rib (7th to 13th rib), but simply of a beef neck steak. Charging €24.50 for this is out of the question. During the entire time we stayed, the service staff sat smoking in our immediate vicinity several times and also fed the cat, which probably belonged to the restaurant, several times. During the removal, another complaint about the moldy bread was met with iron silence. There was no reaction whatsoever. Finally, while clearing away, a fork fell off the plate and caused a noticeable sauce/grease stain on a colleague's pants. Again, no comment or apology. There was also no request as to whether a drink on the house could be offered as an apology. At the end it was not possible to pay by card, and there was no proper receipt for entertainment. To do this, the service person first had to be explained what exactly this was. Electronic billing was also non-existent, although there was a cash register. It remains to be seen whether my employer or the tax office will accept the receipt. If you want a cozy evening in a nice cellar atmosphere with acceptable cuisine, you would have to choose another restaurant in our opinion. To speak of one-off imponderables here would be a highly overstated chain of unfortunate circumstances. As sorry as we are, the overall picture leads us to advise you to completely rethink your catering business, otherwise we can only advise against visiting the monastery cellar. Completely indifferent opinions have been published in the reviews so far. We do not want to comment on whether the massive fluctuations can be verified. What was significant for us, however, was the fact that no other guests visited the restaurant during our 1.5 hour wait. Only three younger people briefly descended into the cellar and left the location again after two minutes. We should have followed suit after the first round of drinks.

Were there months ago. The food was okay and we sat comfortably with a glass of wine. We wanted to do that today at 9 p.m. when they were closing. You don't have to go out to eat there again... Two stars just for the history.

Tiny restaurant in an old vaulted cellar. There are only a few tables, but everything is very rustically decorated. The service is nice and attentive, the food is ok.

Food really wasn't good. Meat burned and some of the spaetzle were still a bit hard.

Schönes Ambiente mit gutem Wein von der Felsengartenkellerei.

Visited 1700 on a Friday. Waitress was very friendly, speaking both German and English when we couldn’t speak German back. Food was amazing and defiantly fresh and authentic. We sat outside and the view on the street and atmosphere was quiet and intimate. Downstairs was the same, with lots of trinkets and very cozy lighting. The waitress apologised for our wait, which was only slightly longer than usual, saying they were one cook and one waitress. Nevertheless she was very attentive and we were happily in and out with full stomachs in 1hr.

Das Essen war ganz okay, hatte Maultaschen mit Salat. Der Salat hätte etwas frischer sein können. Im großen und ganzen aber für den Preis okay. Pils gab es in Flaschen, hat mich nicht gestört. Die Bedienung war freundlich. Das Ambiente ist Geschmacksache, mir hat es gefallen. Leider funktionierte die Toilettenspülung nicht.

Really cozy and friendly ambience, lovely decoration and ideal portion for what you pay! We had this one our list as we walked past this place many times and we always wondered how this place would be. The food was really delightful! Totally not fatty, clean mouth feel unlike typical local food you get. We had Käsespätzle, saure Kutteln and Ochsenschwanzsuppe - we definitely recommend all, especially the last one!

Tolles Ambiente mit nettem Wirt und Personal. Besonders die Sahnelinsen sind zu empfehlen.

Die guten Jahre scheinen der Vergangenheit anzugehören. Ein Dekowahnsinn vom aller feinsten. Und dazu auch noch alt und mega verstaubt. Die schwäbischen Käsespätzle hatten mit diesen nicht wirklich was gemein. Eine echte Enttäuschung.

Ich war heute Abend zu Gast im Klosterkeller. Es ist ein liebevoll eingerichteter Gewölbekeller in dem man sich auf Anhieb wohlfühlt. Der Service ist aufmerksam, freundlich, schnell aber nicht aufdringlich. Die Speisekarte ist klein, übersichtlich aber ausreichend und die Preise angemessen. Auch die Preise für die Getränke sind vollkommen in Ordnung. Das Essen war frisch, lecker und die Portion ausreichend. Fazit: Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert, empfehlenswert.

Super freundlich. Das Ambiente passt zur annehmen, lockeren Art. Es wird nicht mein letzter Besuch gewesen sein. Sobald ich wieder in der Gegend bei Stuttgart bin, werde ich dort essen. Rustikale Einrichtung in einem ehemaligen Weinkeller des Klosters Bebenhausen. Gute schwäbische Weine. Essen sehr schmackhaft und in sehr guter Qualität. Freundlicher aufmerksamer Service. Stadtbahn-Haltestellen in kurzer Entfernung.

Sehr freundliches Servicepersonal und schnelle Bedienung urig eingerichtete Gaststätte. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist okay unser Essen - Kässpätzle mit Salat war frisch zubereitet und lecker.

Warm stone Monastary cellar. Built in 1601. The food was wonderful. Pork cutlets with homemade Spaetzle in wild mushroom sauce and a first-rate mixed salad. Service was memorable and comfortable. And try the Ox-tail soup. My Schwabian MIL left nothing in the bowl.

Kleines feines Lokal gutes Essen

Hier kocht der Koch noch richtig!!! Hier gibt es Essen vom feinsten in Gewölbekeller Atmosphäre. Nicht zu vergessen die freundliche Bedienung und die angemessenen Preise.

Als Exilschwabe in der Heimat und Zuffenhausen ist sicher kein kulinarisches Paradies. Durch Zufall stiessen wir auf den Klosterkeller. Draussen sassen ältere Semester, was für mich ein Qualitätsstempel war, da ich weder auf Döner noch halbgare Pizza Lust hatte. Als in den kühlen Keller gestiegen und nicht enttäuscht worden. Leckere Maultaschen bestellt, vom örtlichen Metzger, geschmelzt mit Salat. Meine Freundin hatte Zwiebelrostbraten bestellt. Klingt banal, aber alles frisch zubereitet und lecker. Vermisse diese solide Küche, die vielleicht nicht überrascht, aber noch eine Ehre darauf setzt, ordentliche Gerichte zu liefern. Der lokale Wein, zweierlei trockene Rieslinge, ließen nicht zu wünschen übrig. Und nette Bedienung. Fühlten und willkommen. Leider wohnen wir weit weg, aber empfehlen es gerne weiter.

Schönes uriges Restaurant im Kellergewölbe mit einer kleinen schwäbischen Speisekarte. Das Essen wird frisch zubereitet und ist sehr lecker. Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Wer mal echt Schwäbisch erleben möchte ist hier richtig.

Wer abends eine kleine und gemütliche Gelegenheit zum Essen, Trinken und Verweilen sucht ist hier richtig. Tolle Atmosphäre, gute Weine, leckere schwäbische Gerichte wie Käsespätzle oder die mir bis dato unbekannte Tellersulz, ein sehr zuvorkommender Kellner und Koch, sympathische Stammgäste die fremde Leute nicht scheuen... was will man mehr! Wir haben es sehr genossen und kommen gern wieder! In jedem Fall zu empfehlen!!

Leckeres Essen, nette Bedienung, Tolles Ambiente. Ich persönlich würde nur die Deko überdenken. Diese passt irgendwie nicht zu dem urigen, alten Gemäuer.

I found the place accidentally while looking for a very late lunch option (4pm) near there. I was pleasantly surprised, the waiter was very polite and extremely friendly, the food arrived very quickly and was very tasty. I took the rib eye stake with homemade salad. Both were delicious and the stake was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend it if you look for a nice small place with local homemade food.

Die leicht überschaubare macht klar, dass es nicht wirklich Variationsmöglichkeiten gibt. Und das Steak kommt dann mit einem Salat und einer Scheibe Brot,aber das Brot und Steak waren außerordentlich gut!!! Deutsche Hausmannskost: Kutteln, Maultaschen ...

Super Essen..Freundliches Personal...

Wir wohnen seit über 20 Jahren in Zuffenhausen und wir gehen immer wieder sehr gerne in den Klosterkeller. Der Service sehr freundlich, das Essen gutbürgerlich und klassisch schwäbisch. Das "Leckerle" (Zwiebelrostbraten mit Käsespätzle) hat seinen Namen durchaus zurecht und wir haben hier die beste Tomatencremesuppe überhaupt entdeckt! Eine urige Atmosphäre begleitet das leckere Essen, ein wunderbares kleines Lokal!

Wir sind auf Empfehlung der Rezeption unseres Hotels in Zuffenhausen in den Klosterkeller eingekehrt. Das Lokal ist sehr klein, aber dafür auch sehr urig und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Personal empfand ich als überaus freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist den Möglichkeiten des Lokals angepasst recht übersichtlich. Der Liebhaber der schwäbischen Küche wird aber sicher fündig. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist in Ordnung, die Preise sind nicht überragend günstig, aber angemessen. Ein Manko ist, dass keinerlei Nachspeise angeboten wird.

Ein ausergewöhnliches Restaurant, im ürigen Gewölbekeller. Wir waren mit einer Gruppe da, sehr schnelle und freundliche Bedienung. Essen war super, das Preis leistungs verhältnis ist sehr gut.

Small restaurant in an old cellar recommended by the receptionist in our hotel. Being in a cellar there was no telephone signal and since we were expecting a fairly important email I asked the barman if they had WiFi. He clearly wasn't familiar with the term and looked at us like we had just landed from the planet Zog ! I ordered a rib-eye steak which was cooked to my liking but served with salad and bread . . . yes bread. When I asked about the possibility of some fries and vegetables I was told that they didn't offer those. Just a guess, but I am sure there must be many better restaurants in Zuffenhausen.

Ja zeker goede service eten tegen een juiste prijs. onder genot van een heerlijk glas wijn en bier hebben we de menu kaart ingekeken. Geen friet en andere vette hap maar juist gerechten die echt traditioneel zijn. we waren met 7 personen en hebben bijna llem,aal iets anders besteld en alles was allemaal even smaakvol. Zwiebel rostbratten was gewoon super. maar ook anderre gerechten heerlijk. En een compliment aan de bediening vriendelijk. Hadden hond bij ons en ook geen probleem.

Really friendly and best cooked steak around in a uniquely decorated and cosy beer cellar. Very accommodating to my food allergies as everything is cooked fresh. We will definitely go back for another steak!
