Okyu Restaurant in Stuttgart

Really recommended, it was very, very tasty. We were very lucky to get a table without a reservation on Friday evening, it was very busy. Fast service, the food looks and tastes simply great😊👍.

Okyu is one of those restaurants where I can say: A lot is going very right here! The sushi, as well as warm dishes, are very good and the decor inside is incredibly beautiful! On the other hand, the outdoor area is not designed with attention to detail - there is a lack of privacy. In addition, something needs to be done about the overall organization of the service. Everyone is super nice and friendly, but it seems as if someone else is constantly coming. Not a huge drama, but if Okyu wants to improve, it's a point that could be considered. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Okyu! :-)

Both service and food are first class

Service was more than subpar, we waited over an hour for our food, and they were also very comfortable with the drinks. Despite having a reservation, you have to stand in line and wait until a table becomes available, which took 30 minutes for us and we only got the table because we asked again. I don't understand the logic of a reservation. The restaurant is nice, as is the spot in the Calwer Passage, especially if you can sit outside. The food was good, but it couldn't compensate for the poor service (table not wiped, annoyed waiters, very long waiting times). For me it's just hype.

Japanese food very tasty, the hot food good but not very good. Good price for the location and good service.

Sushi is very tasty, elaborate and imaginative. The large plate for 4 people should be more generous so that everyone is fed. Service is good, sometimes a little rough. The restaurant has tight seating and quickly becomes noisy.

The sushi restaurant Okyu offers delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, our enjoyment was marred by the intrusive service. While we hadn't finished all of our food, we were asked several times by various waiters if they could clear away. This was disruptive and interrupted our conversations unnecessarily. After I politely asked that we would like to finish our meal in peace, they understood our request and were more reserved. Despite this incident, I would still recommend the restaurant as the food is really delicious.

Food was just “okay” for the price. There are better sushi restaurants. Very uncomfortable atmosphere (the seating was far too tight and the music was very loud). All in all, I can't understand the hype and rush surrounding this restaurant. Totally overrated.

The food is really great, the place is packed. The demand is therefore very high and there is no sign of inflation among the population. Unfortunately, you sit incredibly close to each other like in speed dating, which is a bit irritating. In addition, when you make a reservation you only ever get one time slot. Usually long enough for me, but the feeling in the back of my head is annoying. Otherwise good service!

I went to Okyu with friends for the first time today. Unfortunately I have to say that I was very dissatisfied. At first we were told that we could only stay for 90 minutes because there was a follow-up reservation. That was absurd because we also had a reservation and no one had informed us beforehand that we only had 90 minutes. The service was terrible. The waiters were unfriendly and obviously annoyed and overwhelmed. Some of them didn't understand us because they didn't speak German. Our order came after an hour. To make it easier to understand, my food came at 8:30 p.m. The waiter came at 8:40 p.m. and informed me that the subsequent reservation was there. This made me understand that I should leave. Here I notice that the restaurant doesn't care about customer satisfaction. It's simply outrageous! The food itself tasted very good, unfortunately I had to hurry and couldn't enjoy it. Therefore the restaurant is not recommended!

Despite having a reservation, you often have to wait 30 minutes with other guests who have also made a reservation... the food is quite expensive (€60 per person) and you have to expect another 40 minutes for the meal Overall, people simply over-book and the service is completely helpless

Food was great, service was super friendly, but I found the seating to be very tight. Contact with the neighboring table is guaranteed 😉

As a sushi fan, this restaurant is a great experience to enjoy a quality sushi in a first class restaurant.

We had reserved a table and still had to wait about 15 minutes until we could sit down. It was very crowded and narrow. A lot of avocado was used on the inside out rolls. When our plates were taken away straight after eating, we were told to leave in the next 10 minutes so that the next ones could go. We hadn't even finished our drinks yet and we didn't want any more dessert.

The atmosphere is nice, but very loud (music) and the tables are quite close to each other. You mainly get a sushi menu, but upon request there is a menu with warm dishes. We had a sushi platter for two people with a selection of different starters, we ate for three and it was good. The price is high (sushi is usually a bit more expensive anyway) but the food is really great. The service is also very good. Reservation is recommended

Wonderful. Been there 5-6 times now... The sushi is served quickly and is super tasty. A little tight, but once you're seated everything's great! The playlist could be cooler 😉 See you soon!

Very, very nice atmosphere, very tasty food. Was the perfect Valentine's Day date. The sushi was very nicely prepared. And for this quality the price is justified.

Had an excellent lunch menu, with a small starter beforehand. The sushi quality and taste are very good. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is nice, but the tables are very small for two people. The distance to the next table could also be greater. It all seems a little cramped. However, there are individual group places that have a lounge character and offer enough space. The price-performance level at lunchtime is great. I'd love to come by again.

Unfortunately, this time we were not as enthusiastic as last time (see previous report). As always, it was very full, but we had a reservation. You get a time slot of max. 2 hours. Orders are taken immediately, drinks and food arrive straight away. There is a constant push to move on to the next course. As soon as you don't order something else immediately, you are asked to pay the bill. They seem to want to get rid of you quickly, the next ones are already waiting. Mass processing like at a snack bar, not suitable for a comfortable stay for us. An hour later we were already outside again. However, the food is still excellent.

Waited 1 hour for the food... but it was delicious. Service was ok to good (except for the forgotten drink) The bill was difficult... the table wasn't in the system!

Food fantastic, service good too. Unfortunately, the comfort when eating is not there. We sat on a high table on a kind of beer bench for over an hour, without a backrest everyone had problems after 30 minutes.

Positive: Food very good. Negative: Poor organization and service. Very narrow table spacing and no waiting area, which is annoying when you're waiting there and also when you're sitting at the entrance. Orders from subsequent tables were taken before us. Forgot the starter first. Asked for coffee four times to make it clear that others were waiting for the table. Further notification that you still have 10 minutes until the 90 minutes for the table are over. Three minutes later asked to go to the bar. If I forget appetizers and guests drink the bottle of wine that isn't cheap, then that's a no go at these prices. No recommendation

Service is now underground. Our food was forgotten and we ended up almost being pushed out because the next reservation was waiting. At that price I expect a different service. The good sushi can't get that out of it.

Very good lunch. It was very busy, but the service was still very quick.

We haven't been there for a while to see if anything has changed. Unfortunately no! There were three of us and we had reserved. Since the tables are always for two people, the head waiter must have miscalculated. We waited over 30 minutes. Twice they tried to offer us seats that were so narrow that someone had to break under the table. When we finally got a table, I told the head waiter that we didn't think it was very good. The first time he just ran away. The second time he replied "Then just stay away" This is unpleasant, arrogant and cheeky. In the end it's about greed and 110% utilization. You do it because you can. From now on without us!

Excellent value for money. The dishes are delicious and look very fresh. I'll be back.

Very good, top 3 sushi in Stuttgart

Good sushi, nothing particularly outstanding but everything was ok and tasty. Our waitress was very friendly but a bit unplanned, brought the wrong drinks and an aperitif after the starters were served - no drama but not outstanding.

Best price value ratio for sushi in Stuttgart. Great modern interior design and comfortable seatings. Service has to be really improved, e.g. table setting arrives in a box after the ordered food has been served. The sashimi and nigiri selection is special in Stuttgart with O-Toro and Chu-Toro permanently available. The nigiri would need a thinner cut and a longer retangular rice paddie. Overall very satisfying for the very good price ratio at lunch time.

Great new modern sushi restaurant in the heart of Stuttgart. Particularly worthy of mention is the top quality of the kitchen. The interior is also great. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

Das japanische Restaurant Okyu in der CALWER Passage in Stuttgart hatte uns sehr enttäuscht. Der Service war unprofessionell und es war klar, dass das Personal nicht wirklich Interesse an den Gästen hatte, da sie einem nicht in die Augen schauten. Leider setzte sich diese Erfahrung auch in der Qualität des Essens fort. Das Sushi, das wir bestellten, war von niedrigster Qualität und überhaupt nicht frisch. Besonders der Unagi, der als warmes Gericht serviert werden sollte, war kalt und abgestanden, als ob es eine Nacht im Kühlschrank gestanden hatte. Die Gyosa waren lasch und ungewürzt, und der Wakame Salat, der normalerweise eine leichte Vorspeise ist, schmeckte so süß wie eine Nachspeise. Insgesamt muss ich leider sagen, dass das Restaurant auf ganzer Linie versagt hat. Wir hatten uns auf ein tolles japanisches Essenserlebnis gefreut, aber wurden enttäuscht. Okyu ist definitiv kein Ort, den wir empfehlen würden.

Essen war sehr lecker, leider gab es bei den Hauptspeisen Abends nicht ein Gericht für nicht Sushi esser. Schade 5 Personen waren wir, 2 davon mögen Sushi nicht wirklich. Das Elter Flower Getränk ist ist sehr lecker, leider bekommt man nur ein kleines Glas, enttäuscht.

Waren hier zum Mittagessen. Sehr leckeres Essen (insbesondere das Sushi) und toller Service! 🍣 Mir ist eines meiner Stäbchen auf den Boden gefallen und mir wurde ohne Nachfrage ein neues Paar gebracht - wirklich klasse! 🥢 Zudem finde ich es toll, dass man alle Gerichte auch vegetarisch bestellen kann und dann Fleisch / Fisch mit Tofu ersetzt wird 🌱 Ich komm auf jeden Fall wieder ☺️

Das Essen ist sehr gut, frisch und ansehnlich zubereitet. Das Ambiente ist ebenfalls sehr gut gelungen, tolles Interior. Der Service ist nett, jedoch sprechen viele Mitarbeiter kein deutsch/englisch. So werden Wünsche wie „zu wenig Besteck, Gabel fehlt etc.“ leider nicht verstanden. Insgesamt ist der Service bemüht, jedoch noch sehr holprig im umsetzen. Kindergerecht ist das Restaurant leider nicht, es gibt keine Kinderstühle. Kann man jedoch nachholen. Im gesamten eine klare Weiterempfehlung.

Wunderschönes Ambiente mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Das Essen wird mühevoll und sorgfältig angerichtet und schmeckt gut. Man sieht selten Restaurants die Sushi so schön darstellen. Ich hatte eine Sushi Rolle mit Garnelen und Avocado, Ingwer und Wasabi. Die Zutaten waren alle sehr frisch.Top👍

Sehr lecker auch für diejenigen, die keine Sushi Fans sind. Die vegetarischen und Fleischgerichte sind sehr zu empfehlen. Mein Favorit: Tofu in Mango Sauce

Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen. Eine Reservierung ist mittags erforderlich. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und der Service schnell und freundlich. Es kann zur Spitzenzeit etwas laut sein.

Könnte ich 6 Sterne geben, würde ich es tun. Das Essen hat hervorragend geschmeckt, die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und das Restaurant war innen sehr schön eingerichtet. Danke für das tolle Essen und den guten Service. Absolute Empfehlung.

Sehr leckeres Sushi, preislich in Ordnung. Auch gute vegane Varianten. Der Laden ist sehr geschmacksvoll eingerichtet, das Ambiente super. Beim Service ist noch viel Luft nach oben, man merkt den jüngeren Kellnern und Kellnerinnen die mangelnde Erfahrung an, aber nett sind sie alle.

Tolles Asiatisches Restaurant mit toller Ambiente. Es gibt sowohl einen schönen innen und außen Bereich. Wir waren zum Mittagstisch dort. Die Preise sind fair und die Portionen gut. Es gibt verschiedene Reisgerichte aber auch Sushi zur Auswahl. Wir kommen wieder.

Food and ambient is good, but takes ages to be notice by the waiters, they are always running and not very polite.

Gemütliche Atmosphäre, war mit einigen Personen dort. Sushi war absolut gut. Abrechnung war etwas langwierig, aber es ist ja noch neu. Kommen wieder!

War das erste Mal zum Mittagslunch dort....sehr vielfältige Auswahl an Speisen zu einem günstigeren Preis als abends...schneller Service und geschmacklich hervorragend. Habe für das Essen EUR 11.50 bezahlt.

Gutes Essen. Leider über 1 std auf unser Essen gewartet. Sonst alles gut. Vielleicht schauen das man es besser organisiert was das Timing angeht.

Für die leckeren Sushi und freundliches Personal eigentlich 5 Sterne. 2 Sterne Abzug für den unbequemen "Katzentisch" und zuviel Eis im Getränk. Dazu bekam ich zwar einen Esslöffel zum Entfernen, was technisch schwierig war und kein Schälchen für die Sosse. Dass die Tischnachbarin durch die beengten Verhältnisse fast ihre langen Haare in mein Essen hängt nicht schön. 2. Versuch am 25.8.23, da es nicht so voll war. Von dem Sossenkännchen ist der Deckel runtergefallen , da sehr locker drauf. Zum Glück keine Spritzer auf die Kleidung. Der Rucola war gammelig. Service Dame total desinteressiert als ich ihr das sagte. Schade eigentlich!

Essen ist bei vielen anderen Asiaten die nicht auf diesem Niveau aufmischen sogar um einiges besser, Entengericht war trocken mit viel zu wenig Soße, daher konnte man den Reis auch nicht super runter bekommen, zuzüglich hatten wir eine Sushiplatte für 2 Personen, dieser war gut aber jetzt nicht dass beste oder was man eben von so einem Restaurant erwartet. Da ziehe ich das N14 , Sushi Böhm und das Enso bei weitem vor

Sehr, sehr leckeres Mittagessen, gut bekömmlich. Preis-Leistung stimmen hier total, wesentlich günstiger, besser und leckerer als andere Restaurants in der Innenstadt. Wir kommen regelmäßig zum Mittagstisch. Ganz klare Empfehlung!
