Loud pop music in the background, friendly service, no door to the restrooms—a table for five people is directly adjacent. No one takes care of the restrooms during the evening, and the wastebasket overflows. Tables are clean, counters dusty. Lighting is dim.

Solid sushi in a relaxed atmosphere. You can do it well, it was delicious. The plates for two are more for one person.

We love it here. It's like in Japan. Very nice staff and the food is simply a dream. We will come here very often. Were here last week with our Japanese daughter-in-law...she was thrilled 🥰

Solid restaurant with good food The food here is very tasty and tastes good. It is not the best place in Stuttgart, but definitely very good. I can recommend the miso soup, it's really tasty, and the salmon in it is also good. The salmon curry dish tasted good, but was unfortunately very oily. The salmon was basically swimming in oil, which I didn't really like. But the fried rice was really tasty and made up for it. The sushi was also very good and solid. One small point I would like to note is that the vegetarian sushi was served on one plate along with the salmon sushi, even though it was ordered by two different people. It would have been nice if a separate plate had been provided for each sushi. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the coconut soup was sold out, which I thought was a shame. Overall, I would definitely come back and can definitely recommend the restaurant!

We made an online reservation for a table for two for 7 p.m. and were immediately given a small table upon arrival. Unfortunately, we didn't like sitting right next to other guests. Unfortunately, we were unlucky because the two guests next to us were extremely loud and we could hardly hear ourselves and basically didn't feel comfortable. I looked around and saw that it was extremely crowded everywhere and the noise level was unpleasant. We got the food pretty quickly and in half an hour we finished eating and we didn't want to stay longer due to noise. When paying, the staff kindly asked us why we wanted to leave so quickly and we replied that it was very unpleasantly loud, especially because of our neighbors at the table, who also didn't understand when we asked them about it. The food was really very good but we would only come back in the summer when you can sit outside, because inside there is not a nice atmosphere, no privacy and a very high noise level. Therefore three stars deducted.

Very tasty, very attractively presented, fresh sushi and a good selection of starters. Modern atmosphere and very attentive and friendly service.

The staff is well informed about which dishes are gluten free and which are not. I was able to eat a very tasty noodle soup without any worries and I will keep coming back because I like it so much :). The room feels a bit dark overall, I would like one or two more lights :). But that's complaining at a super high level

Despite a reservation, we didn't get a table after waiting 35 minutes, the restaurant was completely overcrowded, there were more than 20 people in line behind us, all with reservations. Nice place. We then went to Perbacco for dinner.

Sushi was prepared very quickly, 20 minutes. But it didn't taste like anything Baked bananas are 3 small balls in an oversized box Miso soup was good, but way too small for the price. It's soup. Hardly any seaweed or tofu in it. 100€, there is a restaurant (to be fair, I won't name it) that serves 8 maki for 2€ that are brutally good. That doesn't have to be the case

We had four different meals from duck to beef with rice noodles and everything tasted mediocre. Like in a simple Asian restaurant. Service was okay.

We had made a reservation for 3 people today at 9:00 p.m. (on a Saturday). Unfortunately we were about 15 minutes late because we were looking for a parking space. However, we communicated this by telephone. When we were there, we had to wait in the entrance area for about 10 minutes until an employee noticed us. He then accompanied us to the table. However, this was very small for 3 people. Also, there were only 2 chairs at this table. I was therefore provided with a small stool, which was placed in the middle of the aisle, which is why several people logically stuck to me. When I pointed out the miserable situation to several employees, one said: It's normal on Saturday that 3 people would sit at a small table and he couldn't say exactly whether a larger table would be free in about 20 minutes or more . To appease me, he offered us free appetizers as a “compliment.” However, I politely declined and then left the store. Never again!

We went to Okyu yesterday to celebrate a birthday and it was just amazing! All the waiters were extremely friendly and the service left nothing to be desired - attentive and warm at the same time. The food was an absolute highlight: from the sushi to the avocado crisps, everything was incredibly tasty and fresh. We also loved the cocktails. A restaurant we will definitely visit again!

The restaurant, it has to be said, is designed like so many of these hip places where naked modernity is showcased through minimalist furniture - a place that is probably more pleasing to the eye than the palate. The service? Quickly, no doubt. You can literally feel the trained haste of the service, like a well-oiled machine. I ordered just one glass of wine – a Knipser, a Chardonnay-Pinot Gris blend that I hoped would be enjoyable. But the taste was, shall we say, reserved. Maybe a wine that has adapted to the hip atmosphere and doesn't want to stand out too much. In total? A nice address for everyone who is looking for a meeting point near the S-Bahn and enjoys the scenery.

I have always been happy with this restaurant, but my last visit left me very disappointed. Unfortunately, I found a hair in the food, which completely ruined my appetite. After I brought this to the attention of the staff, I was merely persuaded in a friendly manner but no further solution was offered. Given the prices are quite high, I would have expected at least a small compensation. Unfortunately, the sushi was also not convincing this time and was disappointing in terms of taste. Overall, this visit was unfortunately a negative experience. I give the 2 stars for the beautiful ambience.

The pan chicken was so salty I am still reeling from tummy ache, 8 hours after eating it. Please don’t treat your customer’s health so bad.

Since my first review wasn't published or was deleted, probably due to a negative review (even though I gave a good review overall), I'm trying again. It seems that my criticism at the time has been received, as I have noticed a significant improvement in this area. I really liked the food from the start, which is why I've eaten here several times. You can really taste the quality, especially with sushi and gyoza. The normal plated meals are less convincing. The prices are not cheap, but definitely justified for what is on offer.

Brilliant location and very good location... and that's exactly what Okyu + Service relies on... Luckily the rabbit hops differently in Stuttgart... Intentionally creating 30-40m queues by making guests wait 30-60 minutes, even though it feels like half of the seats are unoccupied, a Stuttgarter or Schwob will only put up with it if the rest is absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the Okyu is miles away from that... The arrangement of the seats is almost a catastrophe, even the small, tiny doll tables (max. 2 people or children) are usually occupied by 4 people and are unreasonable for people with a height > 1.70m. When making a reservation, we were explicitly asked for a high table or a normal table and were confirmed on the phone, but on site such promises are consistently rejected... Ended up in discussion and drama in 4 out of 4 visits. As soon as the main course has been served (and you politely decline a second helping), you are basically escorted out. Unfortunately, the kick and the incentive to create as many seats as possible is noticeable and not nice. Be sure to ask for the evening menu (otherwise it will not be handed out) if you want to have inexpensive (comparatively speaking) and good, really tasty alternative dishes (peanut chicken recommended) instead of sushi. The sushi itself is not exciting and rather below average in the Stuttgart & price comparison. Aperitifs are super tasty, unfortunately here too they are a deceptive package (¾ of the contents spread with ice) and very expensive. Hugo at the same price level as a dish from the above-mentioned evening menu (15€ Hugo / 16€ Peanut Chicken). However, why it will remain 4 out of 4 visits is due to the arrogance and lack of sympathy/empathy of the head waiter/boss: If guests follow up OR (legitimately) complain after 15 minutes of unnecessary discussions upon arrival + 45 minutes of waiting for the first drinks/appetizers, you should not respond (verbatim): "If you don't like it, you can go somewhere else. We don't depend on you. Look at the entrance - there are enough people who would like to eat here." If you read through some of the more recent reviews here and look at the now (and deservedly) yawning emptiness (except on Saturdays) while walking through the city center, other guests will probably take it to heart... Actually a great shop in the wrong hands...

Can't believe I'm saying this, but it is one of the worst sushi experiences I've had in Stuttgart. Let's start with good things: - Our order was taken in a timely manner. - The server (Asian guy, no glasses) who took our order was very nice. - The location is amazing, good music, not too loud. Why we will never come back: When we arrived, a Vietnamese server with glasses barely greeted us, saying we could choose a table, handed us a menu so we can bring it to the table ourselves. Mind you, they brought the menu to other guests like in any other restaurant. While looking at the menu (they only gave us one), we overheard the server with the glasses speaking very loudly in Vietnamese. I'm Vietnamese myself, so I could hear him speaking and cursing loudly with the other servers. We were very uncomfortable as it should have been a romantic dinner experience. We were served the food and drinks quickly. We ordered Scallops, Dragon Roll, Tiger Roll, Rainbow Roll, Tuna and Salmon Sashimi, 2 drinks. The tuna sashimi (as in picture) is sth you don't serve like that. Pieces only with tendon and chewy. Just bad quality. The fried shrimp in the rolls tasted like deep fried hours ago and then served and were a bit sour. The check was 95,60. The server with glasses came to hand over the check. If it was the nice server, we would have tipped more than 40ct... If you're the owner, feel free to contact me and I will let you know what exactly your server was saying while other guests were listening.

I've been there several times and have always been very satisfied. The food is really delicious and the service is great too!

Was there for the first time. Friendly service (female). Wanted to drink something other than a soda or cola. The waitress (male) recommended the in-house limo. A 0.2 liter wine glass arrived with what felt like 20 ice cubes. It tasted like a regular lemon soda. 5 sips and she was gone. (Great trick to put lots of ice cubes in = less drink). The joke comes: the whole thing cost €7.90! With all understanding for price increases (for whatever reason and whether justified): at a price like that I feel completely ripped off! I quickly said yes, next time I'll ask in advance how much it costs. That doesn't retain customers! Too bad. I've never paid so much for a few sips of sugar soda in my life. Sushi was delicious.

They changed their menu and with that the quality of sushi changed (unfortunately not in a good way) and the prices increased! Yes the location of the place is still very nice especially sitting outside but the head waiter has no respect for the customers which he was really kind in the beginning of this restaurant opening !

We visit Okyu often. The food is quite good, could be a little better (I'm not saying it's bad) I mention this because the prices are accordingly. During my last visit I noticed that guests were being overlooked. Two tables got up and left because they weren't served!! Strange. The staff can be a bit friendlier for my taste.

Already eaten there twice, but only outside, inside it is much too narrow. The food is very good, but tastes much better in the partner restaurant Enso. The disaster is simply the service. Every time! Slow, uncoordinated and above all unfriendly at its best. Conclusion: that was the last time!

Not recommended!!! We ate here but were unfortunately very disappointed. When we were there, the ambience wasn't particularly nice. The tables are shaking (and some of them haven't been cleaned) and very loud music is constantly coming from somewhere. The service was average, but it didn't give the impression that it had been well trained. She dropped her food once and spilled her drink once. In addition, there is a lot of staff, but they are poorly coordinated. For example, we were once given food from the next table and then taken away from us and given to the others, which is a "no go". In addition, one meal was served 10 minutes after all the others and was still completely cold. The food was average, but the portions were very small. Unfortunately, the high price was not justified. Conclusion: The food is good, but the price is unreasonable. The staff is poorly coordinated and the atmosphere is not particularly nice. We will never go there again. It's an absolute waste of money. The two of us paid 50 euros each for substandard service and bad sushi. We waited for 1 hour and after we asked where our food was, we were answered with 10 minutes and the food only came to the table half an hour later. Nobody apologized or offered us anything as compensation. The service staff ate before us and the food looked freshly cooked. So how can it be that we only get our food after 1½. The restaurant was empty except for 2-3 tables A few more personal words for you: First take care of your customers and then you can talk however you want. Having had this experience as a guest and lover of sushi makes me very disappointed. I worked in the catering industry for years and that's not how you work.

Okyu Restaurant far exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting, perfect for a special evening. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, which makes the entire experience even more enjoyable. The food is a real treat! Every dish, from the freshest sushi and sashimi creations to the warm, savory dishes, was superbly prepared and beautifully presented. The quality and freshness of the ingredients are clearly noticeable. I was particularly impressed by the creativity and care that goes into every detail. Every bite was a taste experience that I won't soon forget. Okyu Restaurant is a must-visit for any Japanese cuisine lover and anyone seeking a first-class culinary experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The sushi is solid but the whole atmosphere is just not to my taste, modern and rather chic/hip but the authenticity is missing. The service was mediocre several times, the wrong dish was received or long waiting times despite a reservation. There are better options in Stuttgart for good sushi or Japanese food.

Unfortunately, the taste of the food didn't meet my expectations based on what I had heard. But very attentive service. The food came pretty quickly. I didn't have to wait long for the bill either. Pleasant outdoor tables with seating in the sun and shade.

Wanted to make a reservation at the window, but couldn't make it, only with a minimum consumption?! I think with 4 people something comes together, but apparently that's not enough.

I had reserved in advance, but we still had to wait in the entrance area after we arrived on time. Eventually we were seated at a large table with eight seats, which we (2 people) had to share with six other people. The normal tables for two are also so close to each other that you have zero privacy. The service is clearly overwhelmed. The food was delicious, but the prices were clearly too high.

Unfortunately you don't get what is on the menu. The menu has 6 nigiri for €6.50. Only two pieces came to the table. When asked, the employees said “that you only ever get two pieces of nigiri. The employees didn't want to agree on a compromise and we didn't get an apology, even though according to the menu we ordered 6 pieces for €6.50. Instead, unfortunately, complete lack of understanding. The food itself was delicious, but the service and the restaurant's willingness to compromise were unsatisfactory.

There are significantly better sushi restaurants in Stuttgart.. the many tables make you sit in the restaurant very stressed and feel uncomfortable.. the service was also unfriendly and visibly stressed. The sushi was okay so far! But not worth it for the price... there are much better ones.

Really recommended, it was very, very tasty. We were very lucky to get a table without a reservation on Friday evening, it was very busy. Fast service, the food looks and tastes simply great😊👍.

The Okyu is one of those restaurants where I can say: A lot is going very right here! The sushi, as well as warm dishes, are very good and the decor inside is incredibly beautiful! On the other hand, the outdoor area is not designed with attention to detail - there is a lack of privacy. In addition, something needs to be done about the overall organization of the service, everyone is super nice and friendly, but it seems as if someone else is constantly coming. Not a huge drama, but if Okyu wants to improve, it's a point that could be considered. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Okyu! :-)

Service was more than subpar, we waited over an hour for our food, and they were also very comfortable with the drinks. Despite having a reservation, you have to stand in line and wait until a table becomes available, which took 30 minutes for us and we only got the table because we asked again. I don't understand the logic of a reservation. The restaurant is nice, as is the spot in the Calwer Passage, especially if you can sit outside. The food was good, but it couldn't compensate for the poor service (table not wiped, annoyed waiters, very long waiting times). For me it's just hype.

The sushi restaurant Okyu offers delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, our enjoyment was marred by the intrusive service. While we hadn't finished all of our food, we were asked several times by various waiters if they could clear away. This was disruptive and interrupted our conversations unnecessarily. After I politely asked that we would like to finish our meal in peace, they understood our request and were more reserved. Despite this incident, I would still recommend the restaurant as the food is really delicious.

Food was just “okay” for the price. There are better sushi restaurants. Very uncomfortable atmosphere (the seating was far too tight and the music was very loud). All in all, I can't understand the hype and rush surrounding this restaurant. Totally overrated.

The food is really great, the place is packed. The demand is therefore very high and there is no sign of inflation among the population. Unfortunately, you sit incredibly close to each other like in speed dating, which is a bit irritating. In addition, when you make a reservation you only ever get one time slot. Usually long enough for me, but the feeling in the back of my head is annoying. Otherwise good service!

I went to Okyu with friends for the first time today. Unfortunately I have to say that I was very dissatisfied. At first we were told that we could only stay for 90 minutes because there was a follow-up reservation. That was absurd because we also had a reservation and no one had informed us beforehand that we only had 90 minutes. The service was terrible. The waiters were unfriendly and obviously annoyed and overwhelmed. Some of them didn't understand us because they didn't speak German. Our order came after an hour. To make it easier to understand, my food came at 8:30 p.m. The waiter came at 8:40 p.m. and informed me that the subsequent reservation was there. This made me understand that I should leave. Here I notice that the restaurant doesn't care about customer satisfaction. It's simply outrageous! The food itself tasted very good, unfortunately I had to hurry and couldn't enjoy it. Therefore the restaurant is not recommended!

As a sushi fan, this restaurant is a great experience to enjoy a quality sushi in a first class restaurant.

We had reserved a table and still had to wait about 15 minutes until we could sit down. It was very crowded and narrow. A lot of avocado was used on the inside out rolls. When our plates were taken away straight after eating, we were told to leave in the next 10 minutes so that the next ones could go. We hadn't even finished our drinks yet and we didn't want any more dessert.

The atmosphere is nice, but very loud (music) and the tables are quite close to each other. You mainly get a sushi menu, but upon request there is a menu with warm dishes. We had a sushi platter for two people with a selection of different starters, we ate for three and it was good. The price is high (sushi is usually a bit more expensive anyway) but the food is really great. The service is also very good. Reservation is recommended

Very, very nice atmosphere, very tasty food. Was the perfect Valentine's Day date. The sushi was very nicely prepared. And for this quality the price is justified.

Had an excellent lunch menu, with a small starter beforehand. The sushi quality and taste are very good. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is nice, but the tables are very small for two people. The distance to the next table could also be greater. It all seems a little cramped. However, there are individual group places that have a lounge character and offer enough space. The price-performance level at lunchtime is great. I'd love to come by again.

Unfortunately, this time we were not as enthusiastic as last time (see previous report). As always, it was very full, but we had a reservation. You get a time slot of max. 2 hours. Orders are taken immediately, drinks and food arrive straight away. There is a constant push to move on to the next course. As soon as you don't order something else immediately, you are asked to pay the bill. They seem to want to get rid of you quickly, the next ones are already waiting. Mass processing like at a snack bar, not suitable for a comfortable stay for us. An hour later we were already outside again. However, the food is still excellent.

Waited 1 hour for the food... but it was delicious. Service was ok to good (except for the forgotten drink) The bill was difficult... the table wasn't in the system!

Food fantastic, service good too. Unfortunately, the comfort when eating is not there. We sat on a high table on a kind of beer bench for over an hour, without a backrest everyone had problems after 30 minutes.

Service is now underground. Our food was forgotten and we ended up almost being pushed out because the next reservation was waiting. At that price I expect a different service. The good sushi can't get that out of it.

Positive: Food very good. Negative: Poor organization and service. Very narrow table spacing and no waiting area, which is annoying when you're waiting there and also when you're sitting at the entrance. Orders from subsequent tables were taken before us. Forgot the starter first. Asked for coffee four times to make it clear that others were waiting for the table. Further notification that you still have 10 minutes until the 90 minutes for the table are over. Three minutes later asked to go to the bar. If I forget appetizers and guests drink the bottle of wine that isn't cheap, then that's a no go at these prices. No recommendation

Very good lunch. It was very busy, but the service was still very quick.

We haven't been there for a while to see if anything has changed. Unfortunately no! There were three of us and we had reserved. Since the tables are always for two people, the head waiter must have miscalculated. We waited over 30 minutes. Twice they tried to offer us seats that were so narrow that someone had to break under the table. When we finally got a table, I told the head waiter that we didn't think it was very good. The first time he just ran away. The second time he replied "Then just stay away" This is unpleasant, arrogant and cheeky. In the end it's about greed and 110% utilization. You do it because you can. From now on without us!

Excellent value for money. The dishes are delicious and look very fresh. I'll be back.

Good sushi, nothing particularly outstanding but everything was ok and tasty. Our waitress was very friendly but a bit unplanned, brought the wrong drinks and an aperitif after the starters were served - no drama but not outstanding.

Best price value ratio for sushi in Stuttgart. Great modern interior design and comfortable seatings. Service has to be really improved, e.g. table setting arrives in a box after the ordered food has been served. The sashimi and nigiri selection is special in Stuttgart with O-Toro and Chu-Toro permanently available. The nigiri would need a thinner cut and a longer retangular rice paddie. Overall very satisfying for the very good price ratio at lunch time.

Great new modern sushi restaurant in the heart of Stuttgart. Particularly worthy of mention is the top quality of the kitchen. The interior is also great. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.
