Went there twice yesterday because we liked having coffee at lunchtime. Waffles very tasty, baked potatoes too. Great ambience. Then cocktails in the evening. When we are back in Ulm we will definitely come back. We found it very nice with you.

Beautifully located at Ulm Minster. Waiter very slow. Don't look for drinks. It's a shame it could generate a lot more sales.

I've been to the breakfast buffet several times now. The ambience is nice, slightly American, cozy, large outdoor terrace with a direct view of Ulm Minster. The buffet offers a lot of choice: bread, rolls, pretzels, croissants, butter, spreads, jam, Nutella, sausage, cheese, white sausage (only on Sundays), pork, orange juice, fruit, vegetables, scrambled eggs, bacon, mini meatballs, fried eggs , hard eggs, mini pancakes, mini pudding rolls, mini dounats, red and green jelly pudding, gummy bears. Don't know if I forgot something. Fried eggs and pancakes tend to be a little cold; the warming plate cannot get through every layer of the stack. But that's just a small subtraction of the whole thing. You have to pay extra for warm or other drinks, which is completely okay given the price (Mon-Fri €12.95, Sat/Sun €15.95) of the buffet. I'll definitely come back.

Please open a Café Extrablatt in Schwäbisch Gmünd too ❤️😍❤️ In North Rhine-Westphalia there feels like a Café Extrablatt on every corner 😉 We miss it sorely!!

Very crowded with tables/chairs. despite buffet reservation with !5! Kids we got a table that was quite far away from the children's corner. It's great that something like this even exists for the little ones - but I also have to be able to supervise them - unfortunately I don't have eagle eyes. The waiter didn't come to the table to take our order for a whopping 15 minutes, even though there wasn't much going on. Food is varied, even for Muslims (tasty Mennemen!) where you don't always have to pay attention to what's in it.

We really enjoy being at Café Extrablatt! They are all very friendly and you get the things you ordered very quickly. We really like eating something with sweet potatoes and waffles with cherries because they are so delicious. And the quality of the food is great. We can only recommend the café.

It's a nice restaurant overlooking Münster's square. I've been there before. This time I went for the open buffet breakfast. It was very nice and sufficient.

Long waiting times, then unfriendly service. Also at the neighboring table :-) Take your time to look around. There are smaller cafés around Münsterplatz with great service and food ;-)

Worst place in Ulm to have a coffee! Don't ever come!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. It’s so beyond the definition of mediocre and the service staff is very rude. Not to mention the food is awful. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Staff very pushy, almost annoying and unfriendly. It was said that the tomato soup was homemade, but it was obviously a packet soup.

The breakfast buffet is very good. The food is delicious, there is a large selection. 1 star deducted because there are no gluten-free rolls and little vegan selection. The atmosphere is nice, very central and right next to Ulm Minster. The service is top. Recommended if you eat traditionally and have no intolerances.

First of all, the location is predestined, you are directly at the Ulm Minster with a huge window area that can be opened. The staff is very nice and accommodating, but the breakfast buffet is mega. I have never seen as much choice at a breakfast buffet as here. Price-performance is enormously exceeded here.

Very busy on the weekend. There's a different way to have a quiet breakfast, so fewer stars for ambience. But the employees were super friendly and attentive despite the stress. The buffet was constantly replenished and the food was of very good quality and very varied.

Large cafe with a wide variety of food.. We both started with a aperol spritz then we had beer with our fajita wraps.. Staff had a English speaking waitress who was very helpful with the German menu..

Unfortunately not child-friendly at all! There were a total of 8 people today...two of them children. The food was OK. You saved a lot on fries, there was only a handful on the plate, but otherwise it was really okay. Our children played outside after dinner...so did other children. Just because one of the waitresses didn't see my two-year-old daughter and she was in his way at that moment, he yelled at us. I really understand a lot of things, but not for staff who react extremely annoyed and raise their eyebrows. He was very provocative and said he had to teach us. Finally my husband became louder and made it clear to him that we were definitely not eating there anymore. The young woman who served us, however, was very nice.

I left my glasses behind a month ago, and despite repeated requests to send them to me in Cologne, they are still in Ulm. I would have covered all costs plus tips. Soulless cafe. I'll happily change the rating when I get my glasses.

Basically good breakfast with a lot of choice. Unfortunately, my husband and I got food poisoning from it. Spent the rest of the lunch and evening on the toilet. Therefore never again!

Great café located right opposite Ulm Cathedral. The restaurant has a large internal room and a large outdoor area. There are two formulas for breakfast: buffet and à la carte. The buffet offers a wide range of sweet and savory, fruit and yogurt. Prices not high compared to other German cities. The restaurant is in a pedestrian area, so I suggest you park in one of the multi-storey car parks in the area and take a walk in the streets of the centre. NOTE FOR FOREIGNERS: they do not accept credit card payments, so if you want to have breakfast while admiring the cathedral, bring cash.

We were in the Extrablatt for the second time, this time we had the breakfast buffet with 5 people. It was good to very good and there is everything from cheese to fried eggs etc. The staff is very friendly and stays calm even when the whole cafe is full, respect !!You have to make a reservation because our place was full and many guests couldn't get a table.

Food was great, really tasty and great... you would be able to enjoy it. If you want to save money on air conditioning and prefer to open all the windows in the summer, there will always be 2-15 drinks on your plate or buzzing around you. You can't enjoy the food or the ambience.

11€ for a very good lunch with a drink, that's unbeatable, even at Münsterplatz.

Very nice place near the beautiful Ulm cathedral, competent and kind service, good food, wide choice at the breakfast buffet, the only flaw is that sometimes there is a lot of noise.

The breakfast was very varied and good and unbeatable for the price. The service staff were nice and attentive. During the week you can have breakfast for €12.95 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Drinks are in the €12.95 not included except orange juice. I would recommend making a reservation.

OK terrace and excellent coffee and accessories. Beniening is all about searching and waiting. Unfortunately, you can only pay with cash or a German giro card.

First it took 10-15 minutes for the order to be taken, then another 20 minutes for 1 glass of wine is quite intense.

I ordered a roll with Brie and one with Mett.... The picture says it all... I got a roll with Brie and one with onions. Well measured is different.

This is a subjective evaluation: The coffee tasted “burnt” to me. Unfortunately, the bread from the breakfast buffet crumbled when it was cut. The pepper pan was very tasty! The bacon is also better than at most other breakfast buffets. Otherwise there is a nice large selection at the buffet and the price is also okay. But there might be a little more fish for my taste.

Decent coffee. Great view when you get a table with a "Münster" view. Inside it's just too stuffed and the space between tables is a bit too narrow in parts. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is great. Reserve a table on weekends seems mandatory.

Great location, terrible and expensive food, misserable service. When you try to pay with card, they say the machine doesn't work.

The type of food in the buffet was leftovers. We waited a long time for our order to be taken, even longer and with repeated reminders, after about an hour and breakfast already eaten, we received our water. I find it unacceptable that you offer a lot, for many places, and not have enough staff and good organization. I find it unacceptable and unprofessional for the staff to justify themselves by saying: "es dauert noch kurz", which literally translates into an hour, as well as: "but you are telling me for the first time". Teamwork without an empty course would be very good.

Chripy Chicken Burger was just Chrispy, nothing else. Two thin slices of breaded chicken, so heavily fried that it was far too dark and dry. Only breading, there wasn't much to taste of the meat. Chicken Chrispys with fries was exactly the same chicken product as on the burger, so no nuggets, just dark, dry slices. The whole thing served in one basket!!. How are you supposed to cut that?? Plus cold, fluffy fries without salt that taste like they've been kept warm for 2 hours. The iced coffee looks really nice, but tastes like a disaster... soggy, tasteless waffle, sour coffee and cheap ice cream.

Seldom eaten so badly. I had the fitness plate with baked potatoes, mixed salad and an extra portion of chicken strips. The salad consisted mostly of iceberg lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, 2 strips of pepper and very little dressing. The potato was tasty at first, you just couldn't dig deeper into it. Underneath the peel, a thick layer of potato had dried up so tightly that only the soft center could be eaten. I immediately complained about the “meat”. It was probably some kind of cheap molded meat. Totally slippery in the mouth. Inedible. Not fried, but probably warmed briefly in the microwave. My daughter had cheeseburger with fries. The burger was so-so, but the fries were fried to pieces. Looked like they had been warmed up several times. Dry as dust. I would have liked to give 0 stars, but 2 stars for the delicious homemade ice teas and the friendly service, who apologized several times for the obviously bad food. I wasn't charged for the meat. That was a failure. Never again!

Had a yogurt cup. Unfortunately the ice cream was very bad. It tasted like it came from a 2l Metro cup. Chocolate sauce was also missing. A sensible mug would have been nice too. On this record, everything seemed very lost on it.

Normally I am well advised with the extra sheet (especially in Ulm). Today I was massively disappointed. 25 minutes after I ordered, I asked how long fries usually take (answer: about 10 minutes); After checking in the kitchen, our fries were brought. Unfortunately, they must have waited a long time because they were only lukewarm. At least the replacement was delivered quite quickly. (Incidentally, the whole thing was after two thirds of the guests had already left the extra sheet after the football game.) Similar game when paying: the same waitress took a long time to pass it on to the person authorized to pay. But it was probably more interesting for them to watch the football fans leaving on the pitch. Next time I visit Ulm I will consider other restaurants.

This morning I took an early train to Ulm so that I could enjoy the highly praised breakfast buffet myself. My expectations were more than met. The buffet is very varied and offers a large selection for every taste. Orange juice is part of the buffet and only the other drinks are charged additionally. Nevertheless, I deducted a star. Apart from a bulgur salad, there was not a single other salad, neither from fresh ingredients nor in cooked form. My service was very friendly and quite quick. Unfortunately, cutlery was somehow in short supply so I had to ask for a small spoon and there seemed to be only a few knives and forks.

Nina was very friendly and patient. Excellent service from her side; it made our Ulm trip very memorable :D

The staff is very friendly, except for one deep-seated and complex person who thinks he has to discipline guests. Wants to be boss, but is probably a bit of a small light. Not the brightest candle on the cake.🤦‍♂️

Plus, they have a rich buffet that's packed with a variety of great options. The coffee is excellent too. The staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. It's a great spot to chill and enjoy some good eats. Highly recommend!

Have been here several times in previous years and have been very satisfied. When we come back to Ulm, we would like to stop by here again.

There's not much to say. Location is great right next to the cathedral, service is very good and super friendly staff. Food is a dream, everything you could wish for is there. The ambience is also very great. Opening times excellent. All in all a great cafe that leaves nothing to be desired. We will definitely come here again.

I've been there several times and am always fascinated by how incredibly delicious the food tastes there. No matter what I ate there, I was always pleasantly surprised. The smoothies and lemonades are amazing. You will be served quickly and very friendly. Plus, everything is really cheap. I always enjoy coming back. Totally recommended!

Cafe Extrablatt Ulm has a very unfriendly owner. Not recommendable.

Despite a reservation, no table was available. Had to wait until another family was evicted from their table. Extremely long queue at the breakfast buffet. Many things were not replenished enough. Extremely high volume level. But the store is constantly overcrowded, especially with girls from Generation Z. So the concept seems to be a hit with me, never again 🤷‍♂️

Great place but a bit crowded and noisy

A nice restaurant for breakfast (there is an all you can eat breakfast). If something is missing, it will be replaced very quickly. Most of the employees are nice and competent. I really liked it, would love to do it again.

A brasserie in Ulm. We already like the ambience of the extra sheet. We were there on a Saturday evening, well attended, reservation is required, at least for 4 pax. The menus offer something for everyone. We all decided on a burger, they were all very tasty and the portions were very large. Very friendly service.

Right next to the cathedral, something like that has been missing so far, perfect Christmas decorations are awesome Well, you don't have to come here for the food, but drinks are good and the location is very nice. This year 2024 they have increased the prices extremely, half a beer is 5.20 and an ice cream sundae is almost 10 euros, I think that's a lot

Hello, we had breakfast at the buffet today and it was delicious 😋 the plates were just too small 😉 the service was also very nice. Oh yes and the cocoa has to be made with milk and not water, sorry but that's the only mango. We will be back definitely.

There were three of us today (2 adults, 1 small child) for a breakfast buffet in the extra sheet. Every time we wanted to reorder a drink we had to wave wildly to get anyone to respond and the young waitress was incredibly unmotivated. After I pointed out the incorrect bill to the young woman (three adults were billed), I got the outrageous answer: should I smell that she is under 10! I think you can tell a toddler from a 20 year old, was my answer. They then said that it was my job to tell her that!! I will never enter this store again and hope that many people read this!!!

Nice café right next to Ulm Minster. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is friendly and very attentive. Food and drinks arrive pretty quickly after you order and are consistently good, if not outstanding. The price level is fair.
