Cafe Extrablatt Ulm in Ulm

Definitely worth a visit. Since we were there at lunchtime, Extrablatt was extremely busy, and the wait for the food was correspondingly long. However, the food was truly delicious and more than worth the wait.

Drinks are good and the atmosphere is great too, unfortunately it's no use when you place an order at the beginning and no one shows up for 40 minutes to ask if you want anything else, even though we had placed the empty glasses so that you could see them.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend the extra leaf. The service was really super friendly and nice, but unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for our food. I had a salad with chicken, which tasted really bad and wasn't worth the money at all. Such a small portion of salad for so much money – that's outrageous in my opinion.

I ordered a fresh orange juice, as it was stated on the menu, as they brought me one from the bottle. When I told them that it’s not what I ordered they insisted with audacity that “yes, it’s freshly made”. I found it very offensive that they tried to make a fool of us.

The service was excellent, the food (two different schnitzels) was okay, but nothing special. It was incredibly loud, so you could barely hold a conversation.

Delicious breakfast in combination with a beautiful city

Unfortunately, I don't recommend it. I drove 60 km and found myself standing in front of a half-empty café, but ALL the seats inside were reserved. So if I spontaneously decide to go for breakfast, I, as an INDIVIDUAL, absolutely have to make a reservation? That's never been the case before. And I'm there often in the summer. But it won't happen again. I left without saying a word and will stay away in the future. Sorry guys, one less regular.

The breakfast buffet has a large selection and the service is friendly, but unfortunately, everyone seems very stressed. It's very tight inside, but it's super pleasant outside.

It's always nice to have Cafe Extrablatt in the city center. And it's certainly the case in Ulm. A lovely, large terrace and friendly, fast service. There's always something delicious on the menu. And the cocktail menu is huge.

Across from Ulm Minster, it's the perfect place to spend some time. At lunchtime, there's a special menu with a meal and a drink for €11.45. It was spot on and delicious. The service is very fast and friendly, helping you choose. Simply great.

Okay... The chain is similar everywhere. Good small plates... Everything's getting more expensive...

We spent a few days in Ulm and went to Extrablatt every day. The service was super friendly and open. One server even asked us after we paid if we were satisfied with his service. We were pleasantly surprised and found it quite delightful—especially in the service desert of Germany. Thank you so much for that. The food (starters, main courses, cakes, and ice cream) was top-notch. We're also big fans of Extrablatt in Berlin/Potsdam.

What I liked best was the staff; everyone was super friendly and always had a smile on their face. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. We only had a snack (parmesan fries), but they were really tasty. I actually wasn't expecting that. I do deduct a point for the ambiance, though, because the restrooms were so-so. All in all, highly recommended.

I warmly recommend this café! The girl named Nina is incredibly friendly and personable – her smile literally draws guests in and creates a pleasant atmosphere. I came all the way from Jena, and it was absolutely worth it. The service is excellent and the food tastes simply amazing. A truly great café – highly recommended!

We already knew Extrablatt from the branch in Aachen, and now in Ulm. The same nice atmosphere, the same interior, the same delicious dishes. This time tomato soup (with whipped cream, served separately) with pizza rolls (mmmmm!!!), always just as delicious!

We were here for lunch. The food was delicious, the staff friendly, and the price absolutely reasonable. A very large selection of food. Clean restrooms. Would eat here again anytime.

Great place for breakfast. They have a breakfast buffet with eggs, pancakes, bread, cereal, fruit, bacon, different sorts of cheese and ham, and desserts, all for 12.5 euros. It is right next to the cathedral, friendly service, and with space for big groups.

It's right in front of the Minster and you have a lovely view of it. It's nice to sit outside and there are plenty of umbrellas to protect you from the sun. The waitress came within a few minutes (even though it was packed). The food came much quicker than expected. The bacon burger tasted 10/10. Strangely, it was better than in any burger place I've been to. The fries were 7/10. The portion was very large and the ingredients were fresh. My girlfriend had a salad bowl which was also very good and fresh. At the end I ordered an espresso. It arrived after 2 minutes with a free glass of water and tasted good. The atmosphere is 10/10. It looks very nice inside and the toilets and the stairs down look really special.

The cocktail is great and so is the food. If you have no idea which cocktail you want to drink, just ask the waiter Musti, he has the best taste :)

We went to Extraplatt for lunch today. I ordered goulash soup, which was pretty quick. There was a lot of broth and not much meat, and when I had the first bite in my mouth, I thought I was chewing on hard rubber. With the second spoonful, I fished out an unidentifiable piece. When I stirred it, another piece came out (it might have been a blood vessel; it looked disgusting). The soup was simply inedible. We called the waitress and I told her the problem. Her answer was: you've already eaten too much out of it, and now I have to pay. Unbelievable, almost 8 euros for goulash soup that was inedible and three-quarters of it went back. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Ordered a Baileys, paid €6.60 for less than a finger with an ice cube inside, when on the menu it was €3.30. Spille, dishonest, never seen such a thing. And the waitress didn't understand anything even though we spoke simple English.

It's a very stylish but usually crowded place in Meydan. The cold drinks are good but the breakfast options are limited.

Very large selection at the breakfast buffet - I wouldn't have expected that at all on a Monday morning! It seems to be offered every day. The price is completely reasonable, the staff is very friendly and child-friendly (a high chair was brought straight away and the stroller was even stowed away). Everything was delicious and fresh – we would love to come back!

Had to wait forever for our order to be taken. Then it took another eternity until she brought 2 simple coffees and an ice cream scoop each, which were as small as a tablespoon. We won't come here anymore. Unfortunately there wasn't a cent tip for the service. That's just the way it is, poor performance, no tip.

We ate there as a family with our two kids. Even though there wasn't much going on (3 p.m.), the service took a long time before we could order. We only got the children's menu (a coloring and puzzle book combination) upon request and then it was already filled with. Food only came after 45 minutes. As I said, there was little going on. The salad was disappointing. Drinks as well - the lemonades read great, but are more water and mint than anything else. In a soda I had rosemary instead of mint - disgusting in the combination. The service just said that the bar was probably out of mint so they would have used rosemary. Honest!!! And don't you ask the guest beforehand before serving an alternative? The orange slices were completely missing. And the drinks are overpriced too. Overall I was pretty disappointed. The only good thing is the location on Münsterplatz.

Worst restaurant of all Extra Blatt stores. The owner just sits around and observes his employees in a very strange way. Us customers too. You actually want to eat in a relaxed manner, but that's not possible if you're constantly being watched. An employee left all the outdoor spaces untidy and while sorting the cutlery, she watched YouTube. Incredible! Food tastes okay, although the salads are mostly soggy. At least the toilets are clean. Back then the store was of respectable quality but this has really declined. It's too bad for me to spend my money there, but if you like it, you can still go there and waste your money! These are just my experiences. A pure disappointment the store…

Café right on Münsterplatz. Relatively loud and busy. There is not only cafe and cake but also smaller dishes. Due to high frequency service, constantly on the move. But orders come quite quickly. In addition to many seats inside, there are also many tables outside.

Good location right next to the cathedral. I stopped there after visiting the weekly market. Unfortunately I had to wait forever until I was asked what I wanted to order. The guests at the next table left because the waiting time was too long for them. I ordered a paella. Unfortunately the dish was disappointing. The rice was overcooked and the salad was served alongside the paella and tasted very bitter. The peppers were prepared in very large pieces. And you could tell that the lemon had been there for a while. I wasn't asked if I wanted anything else and everything was fine and if I hadn't spoken to someone at some point because no one came, I could have waited forever to pay. Too bad.

The drinks were excellent, the service quick, polite and effective. We were almost ripped off when it came to paying. Coincidence? Sneaky? No idea. It's actually a shame...

We were there for brunch. The buffet is very plentiful, with something for every taste. It was very crowded and also very loud - unfortunately. We had to wait a long time for service. In my opinion, there weren't enough waitresses there that day. We were there on a Saturday at 10 a.m. and all the tables were already occupied. That's why it's recommended to make a reservation. But we'll definitely come again

I paid €7 for a handful of cum, and my colleague paid €7 for a 50ml drink + 200ml ice cubes. And one of the two sinks in the restroom doesn't work.

I think I'm crazy, you pay €7 for a drink (ice) that contains 90% ice! A disaster.

The buffet breakfast was okay, with a little less variety than the average hotel breakfast. The croissant was delicious, the fries were few, and the coffee wasn't very good. Cards can be swiped.

Good food, beautiful interior, felt like i was in a movie

5.75 € for an apple spritzer, that's not possible, it's beyond reasonable limits. Then twice with my partner. If the DM is no longer there, that would be the equivalent of €11.50 to DM 23.00. As nice as the restaurant is, this price gouging won't work in the long run. This is sad and a real shame.

We are a group that occasionally goes to the Extrablatt to eat on Wednesday evenings after our training, so far we have always been satisfied! Today we were there again and some of us like to eat the crust there! What we all immediately noticed today was the small portion of French fries!!!! One of us even said: The small portion of fries at McDonald's is bigger!!! So far and also last week, the filling side dish with the fried potato sticks was always much larger. We immediately complained about this to the service staff and asked: What was going on today and we should ask the kitchen why the portion today was so pitiful and modest!! There was actually an honest answer! We were probably the last group to eat this evening around 9:15 p.m. and it wouldn't have been worth it to tear open a new big bag of fries especially for us, we had ordered 4 x the crust with fries! Yes, the answer was honest, but of course in no way hospitable or customer-oriented, because we paid the regular price! Question: In the catering industry, are you not allowed to close a newly opened bag of frozen fries with a clip and put it back in the freezer and offer it the next day??? So, today there was a very, very big negative point for the Ulmer Extrablatt. 👎🏼

Despite a reserved table, we had no space. We reserved a table at 10am on a Saturday. The store was full to the brim (football game). I told the waitress that I had made a reservation for four people and gave my last name, but it wasn't on the list (at least it was written down incorrectly). The waitress told us to wait until a table was available. Waited 10 minutes until a small table became available. This was then not cleared for the next 5-10 minutes. We went to the weekly market instead. I enjoyed visiting there, but from today on I will avoid it.

Right on Münsterplatz. Very friendly staff. Large selection of delicious dishes also for vegetarians. Delicious cocktails also non-alcoholic. My favorite are the homemade lemonades. Absolutely recommended. By the way, Café Extrablatt m is also available in many other cities.

Unfortunately there is still a lot to improve. There is a lot of noise indoors when there is a lot of activity. Some of the service staff seem uncoordinated and I think €4.50 for a latte is excessive.

Great breakfast would be happy again

I have to be honest: we've already been there for breakfast and have been there twice now for coffee, but every time I get cake there I'm disappointed, the cheesecake didn't taste like anything and the pieces are, in my opinion, much too small for almost €5.

Chripy Chicken Burger was just Chrispy, nothing else. Two thin slices of breaded chicken, so heavily fried that it was far too dark and dry. Only breading, there wasn't much to taste of the meat. Chicken Chrispys with fries was exactly the same chicken product as on the burger, so no nuggets, just dark, dry slices. The whole thing served in one basket!!. How are you supposed to cut that?? Plus cold, fluffy fries without salt that taste like they've been kept warm for 2 hours. The iced coffee looks really nice, but tastes like a disaster... soggy, tasteless waffle, sour coffee and cheap ice cream. For the "cheap" lunch...small chicken schnitzel with a handful of fries for 10.95 euros, the ketchup is charged an extra 1 euro...that's it for good!!

Despite the large crowds this Sunday, the breakfast buffet was great. The service was extremely friendly despite the stress. We'd love to come back
