Excellent breakfast buffet, huge selection, unbeatable prices, everything fresh, and excellent service. The buffet was constantly refilled, and empty plates were quickly cleared away. An absolute must for breakfast in Mönchengladbach.

Everything's fine, but after the recent renovation, it's become complete junk. You can't smoke in the back conservatory anymore and have to sit outside to smoke. Absolute crap!!!

Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to give you honest feedback about my last visit. In my opinion, the waitress Sini needs some more support in dealing with guests. When I tried to speak to her, she turned around and simply walked away without listening to me. This kind of behavior unfortunately gives the impression that guests are not welcome. Unfriendly service and my last time there. Waiters pressure you to order. So now we have seven fewer customers. This has never happened to me before. My friends and family will definitely hear about it!

The wraps were disgusting, like molded chicken that had no flavor left. Even the wraps were tasteless. You have to get used to that. Unfortunately, the wait staff had no interest in making you feel that way as a customer. They could learn a lot from Cannapé.

We were there on October 1st at lunchtime and it wasn't that busy. We stood at the entrance because there was a sign there, no one came, we sat in the corner, there was a wheelchair user, the waiter came straight away and asked why we hadn't seen the sign at the entrance, the tone was loud, I didn't respond any further, I had a Berlin currywurst with fries, then I wanted to pay, waited half an hour, called 5 times, then Keller can, we always eat the same thing, 31 euros, he said 43 euros, I said something's not right, he said everything's correct, the receipt came, I paid, he left, I looked at the receipt and our things weren't on it, I called again, Keller was annoyed, took the money out of his wallet and said it was from the next table, it can't be 12 euros too much, hello and then to say I shouldn't make such a fuss, I was speechless.

Delicious beers and wine on the terrace. The food was also excellent, and the staff were friendly. A lot of screens showing football, but not distracting if you don't want them.

They were very busy due to the Federal Shooting Festival, but everyone was always very friendly and attentive, making every effort to serve guests as quickly as possible, despite the full house. We had lunch at Cafe Extrablatt one afternoon. The place wasn't busy at all, and there were plenty of staff on hand. Our order was taken promptly, and the food arrived quickly. Unfortunately, that was it. There was no service after that, and we had to wait and wave someone over for a second drink. The same goes for paying. That's a shame, and completely incomprehensible when it's not busy. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and the food delicious. However, we'll consider a different restaurant next time; after all, the selection at the Alter Markt is large enough.

Extrablatt - Unfriendly staff! Extrablatt. The obligatory star goes to the delicious burgers. That's it. While other guests were still happily being brought their next round at 10:45 PM, we were told, before we could even sit down, that the restaurant was already closed. And they did so in an unfriendly and condescending tone, as if we were strays off the street. Thanks, Extrablatt.

Today I had the most unfriendly staff I've ever experienced! And then I witnessed two situations that were also absolutely awful! If you don't want service, you should do something else! And management should take a closer look at their staff. That was the last time we were there.

Very nice and good quality, but for me the food could have used more seasoning. (I didn't order anything spicy and didn't want it either, just to avoid any misunderstandings.) unasked for salt and pepper would have helped. However, we only ate outside. I can't say what it was like inside.

It's one of our regulars for many reasons. A good choice for lunch in town. The changing table is clean. The service is always attentive and quick, never intrusive, and very friendly. So... that's why I'm writing this review. I don't know how long it's been like this, but I had the new cocktail menu in my hand today, and the new prices are definitely unbeatable.

Good morning, We/two people just started our wedding anniversary with you with a hearty, delicious breakfast. We were greeted and served very nicely, right up until the end when it was time to pay. We asked twice if we could please pay. We were served by a shorter lady who seemed to have come to work today because she was sick, as her voice was failing her at times. When the lady then came over to us to pay, she asked, "Separately or together?" We said, "Together, with card, please." And her mood changed suddenly! She answered yes, didn't look at us again, and simply pulled out the card reader, slammed it rather roughly towards my card, and waved it around to establish the connection. When the payment was made, she simply said thank you and abruptly left the table! We had no opportunity to tip her with the debit payment, nor did we want to give it to her in cash after her reaction. I think, at least, that was the issue for her. She then welcomed other guests at the door, and when we wished them a nice day, she simply said goodbye. I have no idea why she reacted like that, but it's a real shame!

Doesn't deserve the name "cocktail bar." Classics like the Negroni, Moscow Mule, or Dry Martini aren't available. Instead, they serve sweet stuff with gummy cherries. Service is more concerned with clearing tables than serving customers. It's okay due to a lack of alternatives. The location on the main square is quite nice. A 2 out of 10.

They serve a very good breakfast there; luckily, you can get your own food. For cocktails or dinner, it's a disaster. You're only served once at the beginning, and after that, you feel like you're invisible. Paying is best done by going inside and looking for your waiter. Tip: Don't sit outside under the umbrella at the entrance when it's raining—it's retracted! (We were told this is for safety reasons). The cocktails and food have always been delicious 😋

Unfriendly staff I was there at the breakfast buffet, and it says that shakshuka is eaten primarily for breakfast in Israel, and shakshuka is a delicious Israeli recipe, even though that's not true at all; shakshuka is a Middle Eastern recipe. Hello, we were just in Mönchengladbach at Café Extrablatt. We sat outside (under cover) because there was no room inside. After 10 minutes, I went inside and asked the waitress if she could bring us three coffees ☕️ outside. She replied rudely: "No, I won't do that because it's raining" (it was raining so lightly that she hardly got wet). Afterward, we went to Cannape, where at least the waitress was friendly. Right in the middle of the Old Market. I really liked it. Shawn is a top-notch server, very attentive and quick.

Normally, we've always been satisfied. But you notice that, especially in good weather, the service outside leaves a lot to be desired. This time, they closed after the first order – we waited over 1.5 hours. Despite repeated inquiries and excuses, we simply paid – which was suddenly possible within 2 minutes. But taking orders within 1.5 hours was apparently impossible.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of waiting time until a waiter noticed you. There's a lot to choose from, but I personally don't like the food there. There is enough to drink there. It's really crowded there on the weekend. Prices are okay.

I have been to Café Extrablatt very often in many cities, but I left here a week ago before ordering. The reason was an absolutely rude, rude waiter. It was a Tuesday afternoon and the restaurant had very few guests, only a few tables were occupied. We had chosen a table with a comfortable bench that we liked, and since there was really nothing going on at all, we didn't find it a problem that the table was too big. The waiter barked at us as to why there were two of us at this table and asked us to move. We did this without comment, even though this appearance was already unnecessary. The green additional menu with the vegetarian dishes was missing from the new table, we took it from the neighboring table (of course we would have put it back after ordering without being asked) then the snooty waiter came and immediately barked again, which is why we took the menu from the neighboring table (no, that's not our hobby) we explained that this green menu would be missing. I noted that this was the second time he had contacted us in the 5 minutes we had been in the restaurant. No apology, nothing, the gentleman left. I had lost my appetite, I then expressly told him that this behavior was a no-go and he acknowledged that we were leaving the restaurant because of him. When we left we noticed that he checked the menus at our table 😔 we had of course put the ones from the neighboring table back. I've never seen anything like that before and this person has no place in service.

We had breakfast here on Saturday and it was very good. So much and good selection that you will definitely find what you are looking for. The food was always fresh and although it was full, it wasn't uncomfortably full.

The tarte flambée was quite okay. Unfortunately the restaurant was far too full on Saturday evening, so we had to wait 10 minutes for a table. The tables are very close together, which creates an uncomfortably cramped atmosphere. For a first date where you want to talk privately without the neighboring tables overhearing every word, I would recommend another restaurant.

We were just eating. It was delicious and the service is unbeatable. Very friendly and polite. We left our baby toys behind. The nice waiter even ran after us in the snow and brought us the toys. If I could give more stars, I would give more! It's just a great feeling to be treated so nicely.

Café Extrablatt in Mönchengladbach is a great place to enjoy a coffee, treat yourself to a refreshing drink or have a delicious meal. The breakfast buffet on weekends is particularly recommended; the selection is large and the quality is always good. The staff is super nice, the service is great, and everything is nice and clean and well maintained. It's only outside the café that you sometimes notice that it's in the middle of the old town, where there are occasionally somewhat "weird" people out and about. Nevertheless, Café Extrablatt remains a favorite place for me that I enjoy visiting again and again.

One of the Extrablatt cafes that I like to come back to again and again. Since it opened in MG it has definitely been an asset to the old market. Regardless of whether it is a breakfast buffet or à la carte, there is a wide selection on offer so that everyone should be able to find what they are looking for. Even the volume, when the house is full, is in my opinion very good and doesn't disturb your own conversation. Comfortable inside and outside. Speaking of a full house, there is of course a small catch here that is understandable. During busy times it may take a moment longer than usual to operate

We always like to visit these restaurants whenever there is a branch of “Extrablatt” on site. In Cologne, Bonn, Aachen, ... we were already in the “Extrablatt”. The branch in Mönchengladbach is part of a ritual that we like to do again and again when we visit Borussiapark and that is often at Borussia Mönchengladbach's home games. I think it's the informal atmosphere that inspires us. However, you should try to get a seat further back in the restaurant. In the front you usually sit on old, hard ratan chairs and it is cold there in winter because the entrance door is often open. But otherwise everything is fine. Nice staff and good food.

Very pleasant ambience and generally a relaxed atmosphere. The staff is open-minded, competent and tolerant. The restaurant has an outdoor area and two indoor areas, one of which is intended for smokers. Alcoholic drinks are usually available until shortly before closing time (with notice). Personally, I found the fresh mint tea with raspberries to be particularly soothing.

I had made a reservation at Café Extrablatt for a slightly larger group to celebrate a birthday, and I have to say: everything went smoothly. The organization was great and the waitress was really friendly. She checked on us regularly and made sure we weren't missing anything. Even though we were a fairly large group, our food came surprisingly quickly and at the same time - that was really positive. About the food itself: It was good, but not necessarily anything special. I've been here several times and can really recommend the burgers and wraps - they're always a good choice. This time I tried the schnitzel, which I thought was okay, although I know better ones. By the way: I've also had breakfast at the buffet here (see picture 2) and can really recommend it! The selection is huge, and everything was fresh and super tasty. It's definitely worth it for an extended breakfast visit. A small point of criticism: One of my friends is a vegetarian and unfortunately she didn't really like the food at Café Extrablatt. Maybe some work could be done here on the selection or vegetarian options. What I particularly liked was the atmosphere that evening. It was a Saturday, but still not overly crowded, so we were all able to have a good time without having to constantly fight the loud noise. That really made the evening enjoyable. Overall, it was a nice evening with good food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. I can definitely recommend Café Extrablatt for groups - it's easy to organize a successful evening here.
