Cafe Del Sol Mülheim in Mülheim an der Ruhr

I was at Café del Sol and I was absolutely thrilled. The staff is very, very kind and incredibly friendly. The food was delicious. We accidentally ordered the wrong thing, and the staff immediately understood and brought us a replacement without any argument. Service like this isn't something you can take for granted—absolutely top-notch!

We ate there again after a long time. First we got the wrong food, then both meals were served at different times. Schnitzel was in the fryer far too long. Only the service deserves 5 stars. A shame

One star, not because it wasn't tasty, but because the value for money is completely out of whack. Tiny portions at exorbitant prices, making you want to eat again at home. Service is friendly, it's tasty—nothing special, but solid. The portion sizes are truly outrageous, though. I recommend going to Café Leonardo downtown instead. Similar prices, but tastier and larger portions.

The staff is very inattentive; as a guest, you have to make yourself heard very clearly, and even then, it's difficult to order a drink or the bill, for example. The restrooms are dirty, and there's a shortage of paper. The food is okay, but the drinks (especially the *homemade* lemonades) are simply overpriced these days. We'll be avoiding this place in the future.

Normal price, yes, it really looks delicious and tastes good....

It's easy to get to. When it's busy, the noise level can be quite high. The food was good. Unfortunately, the fried egg was already cold, but they brought us a replacement, which was extremely friendly and accommodating. The service was very attentive and remarkably friendly. We'd be happy to come back.

A typical CdS, conveniently located. For me, it's a plus that there are Tesla Superchargers right in the parking lot next door. Consensus The flat white tasted really bad. I don't know how they manage to make it so bad? "Luckily," it's tiny. Even more unpleasant. I arrived there at 11:35 a.m. At that time, you can't order food from the menu, including breakfast or anything similar, because they serve a buffet in the morning. However, it's only open until 12:00 p.m., and I don't see the point in paying full price for 20 minutes. So, as a customer, you have no reasonable option for getting something to eat at that time. Extremely strange. Consensus The server, Jenny, was very friendly and even asked the manager if you could order something from the menu. But she said no. She really tried hard. So, in summary: One big star for Jenny, zero stars for Café del Sol

I can now upgrade my application from 1 star three years ago to 5. The service has become first-class, and this time, for the first time, our 2-year-old daughter was there. They immediately offered a high chair and something to paint with. Perfect 🤩 you've convinced me. Service is possible 🙃

Very nice restaurant, friendly staff, and delicious food. We ordered pinsa avocado, schnitzel with sweet potato fries, and Caesar salad. Highly recommended!

Since today, my last visit! Outrageously small quantities and extremely high prices for extra ingredients in salads and baby potatoes. 3 chicken strips and 1.5 quartered mushrooms, which were also burnt and inedible, at an exorbitant price. I asked the wait staff after serving if they were serious about selling one and a half baby mushrooms for about €3 as an additional side dish. She took the plate and came back 15 minutes later with burnt mushrooms. My companion had, of course, already finished eating by then. When I had only eaten the handful of baby potatoes and asked the waitress again if everything was okay, I told her that everything was burnt and inedible. She offered a brief apology, and then charged the full price of almost €23 for a latte macchiato and a handful of baby potatoes. It's enough to make you choke on it!!!! Customer service/satisfaction is out of the question here!!! If you want to throw your money out the window, you can order there or throw it directly into the Emscher River and watch it float away!!!

What overpriced, lousy food! Never again.

I have a schnitzel or something similar, breaded pressed meat. I can still remember when I advertised the schnitzel at Café Del Sol. Too bad that won't happen anymore.

A truly great place for food of all tastes. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, or vegan, whether you're looking for a light bite or a full meal, you'll find what you're looking for here. The only downside for me was that breakfast is only served until 11 a.m. The service was prompt and very friendly, and the atmosphere on the terrace was truly lovely. I really liked the location inside too. I'll definitely keep this chain in mind!

Recommended but relatively expensive (e.g., €4.60 for a sandwich!!!) Outdoor area is covered and quiet.

The café is in a great location with lots of greenery, and has plenty of space both inside and outside. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. What we missed was a place for the kids to move around. A few outdoor play equipment and a play area inside would have made the ambiance perfect.

This was our second time here, and everything was perfect again! I can only recommend it.

The ambience and the service are really great but the food selection is very modest and it doesn't taste good either. Similar concepts make it better.

I've been there for the first time in a long time. The food was very tasty. Both my wife and children found the portions to be more than enough. However, as a hungry man, you have to be careful what you're eating, as not every portion is enough. So I went for half a pint of sauerkraut plus one of the summer specials, which was fine. The taste was definitely delicious! One thing you might find unnerving as a non-smoker is that you might be bothered by cigarette smoke on the veranda outside, since smoking is apparently not prohibited there. Otherwise, everything was great.

A few days ago, I was at Café del Sol in Mülheim with a colleague – unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. I ordered the Thai curry with chicken. The food arrived cold. The waiter was friendly and offered to bring a new one – which I'd like to say is a positive – but the second dish was also simply disappointing in terms of taste. It tasted like a ready-made meal from the freezer, prepared without love – zero freshness, zero heart. My colleague's dish was even worse: There was an unidentifiable dark piece in his dish that looked like meat, but was totally weird. Truly unpleasant. I've had a stomach ache for the last three days since the visit – that simply can't be a coincidence. On the positive side: We didn't have to pay for the food – that was generous. But honestly: I will never eat there again. The place looks nice, but that doesn't help much when the food and quality are so poor. Unfortunately, I absolutely do not recommend it.

I haven't been there in ages, but it hasn't turned into a negative experience. Rather, it's a positive one. A very nice stay, incredibly delicious food, and very attentive and friendly service. All in all, very good, I'll be back. 😊

We opted for the pinsa. It came with scissors, but these weren't helpful, so we asked for cutlery. Unfortunately, the pinsa itself was far too dry for us.

We like to eat schnitzel here, which we usually enjoy (vegetarian and poultry options are available). However, the music inside has been so loud for some time now that it's almost impossible to have a conversation with your tablemate. It's not at all suitable for visitors with infants, as no consideration is given to that. Yesterday we ordered a burger with fries. The burger was very dry and unfortunately not as flavorful as expected. The Napoli, on the other hand, was very tasty and completely won us over. Unfortunately, the drinks only come with cardboard straws, which dissolve in the drink after about 15 minutes, especially in iced coffee, chocolate ice cream, and milkshakes.

Had a good evening. Great food. Seriously noisy though, the price reflects that.

Update: The place is getting louder and louder!! We go there often, simply because there are hardly any alternatives in this area. The service is always very, very friendly. You can't complain... Unfortunately, the food is just below average. We've tried several dishes and were never really satisfied. The bowls, for example, are tasteless and barely a treat...

Once again, we spontaneously enjoyed a delicious meal.

Last Saturday, the three of us went to Cafe del Sol, Mülheim/Ruhr, for the first time. The offer is very extensive, the service is very friendly and very competent! Both the rooms and the table placement are very well thought out, which is very beneficial to the acoustic conditions. Only the filter coffee = colored water with a hint of coffee flavor - was a disaster and prevents me from visiting this restaurant again!!

Visited here with our German friends, we ourselves being English, the staff were amazing, food and drinks perfect!!!!

Wow, that was great at Café del Sol in Mülheim! Super nice atmosphere, we could sit outside and I had the feeling of being in a well-kept southern diner. Soooo nice and attentive service and fast service. I just wanted a little snack and had the crème brûlée - a poem and super tasty! I would love to come back!

Nice place on the way. The restaurant is located 2 minutes from the highway. Very good food and service I recommend the schnitzels with various pines and fries. There is a huge parking lot and car chargers available.

I go to this Café del Sol regularly and have only had good experiences every time. It is chronically understaffed and it therefore takes quite a long time to be served, but otherwise everything is great

A nice restaurant, well attended and friendly staff. I ordered Pinsa teryaki there for €16.90. Apart from the fact that the meat was lukewarm at most, weighing an estimated 80 grams, it was riddled with cartilage and fat as is the case with form meat. The remaining topping of cheese, peppers and a few snippets of vegetables was also very simple and simply not tasty. It's better to buy it at Aldi and use it yourself!

Great service! Our requests were met and we were served by a waiter named Abdul. We haven't received such good service in Germany in a long time!

It's actually as loud as in a café, sometimes it wasn't possible to have a conversation. But it's just a café and not a restaurant. However, the prices for the food were at restaurant level, in my opinion without the corresponding toppings (pizza) like in the restaurant. The ambience was good and so was the staff.

Preferably 0 stars. We first sat down outside and no one paid us any attention for at least 15 minutes. Waiters passed us several times. We then sat down in order to perhaps be noticed there, but after 10 minutes we weren't noticed either, even though there were a lot of waiters walking around there... so we left after sitting for a total of 25 minutes... then we'd rather go somewhere else. Plus the prices are a disgrace. Selling overpriced food that is only warmed up, or simply presenting baked rolls and cheap whole eggs from a tetra pack at the breakfast buffet. No thanks

Full 5 stars go to the super friendly service team! Large menu and good food in a Mediterranean atmosphere. Depending on the occupancy, it can be a bit loud for a comfortable conversation, although that shouldn't be a surprise for a restaurant of this size. Some of the furniture is a bit “worn”, but that too is more of a side note. I will be very happy to come back!

It is very comfortably furnished, but the location on the main street is not the nicest or quietest. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate was just lukewarm. Unfortunately, the service was a bit overwhelming, even though it was only moderately full. The cake came before the drinks and these also came one after the other.

We were treated very well, everyone was happy, the service was there quickly and you didn't have to wait long, around 18 people were happy 🙂

Like every Café del Sol, there is plenty of parking available. Nicely decorated. Noise level just too high. Drink prices also exorbitant. Two cocoa, normal cups, and a glass of orange juice 12.10 euros.

We have been to the Café del Sol Mülheim several times on Sundays for the breakfast buffet. And we liked it every time and it was delicious.

CDS is a safe bank, no matter the city. The only point of criticism: fan hand dryers should be replaced with paper towels.

Were there for the buffet. It was quite crowded, but the overall impression was still positive. A special thank you goes to our waitress Leticia, who always had a smile on her face and was always trying hard. The food surprised us positively, nice selection and very tasty. Because it was quite full, it was relatively loud.

The homemade lemonade was quite tasty but the rest of the food was just ok. I didn't get the impression that anything was homemade. But the atmosphere is nice and the service was good.

We really like it here because the wait staff is great💫 and the brunch. The food is good, like in almost every chain. The atmosphere here is also good and it's super cozy outside. Sweep under the tables more often and check the cutlery (number, stains)😉 otherwise always like to do it👍
