We met as a group after a long break, about 10 people with a table reservation. Whether it was burgers, pasta, or pinsa, everything tasted delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. We all felt completely at home, which made it a very enjoyable evening.

I've been a regular customer at Café del Sol in Filderstadt for many years and have always been very satisfied. But what happened to me on May 14, 2025, left me speechless. We were politely seated outside, but the table was wet. I politely asked the waitress, "Nele," to wipe it – her reaction was rude, annoyed, and completely disrespectful. She simply took my husband's order, then turned around without a word and left me standing there before I could even order. When I asked her, she responded evasively and snippily, laughed at me in the middle of the discussion, and made me feel unwelcome. Even when I calmly told her that I would prefer to be served by someone else, she mocked me. When I tried to complain inside, she came back, intervened, interrupted the conversation with the receptionist, and was once again cheeky, unbearably temperamental, and overwhelmed. Even the friendly employee couldn't stop her. The icing on the cake was her statement: "You've already said that three times" – I've never experienced anything like that in service before. It's sad when a single, obviously overwhelmed and disrespectful employee completely destroys a place you've enjoyed for many years. And if she was having a bad day, I definitely wasn't there for her to unload it on me. I was disappointed, hurt, and stunned. That's not how you treat guests, regardless of whether they're regulars or not.

We recently visited Café de Sol in Filderstadt as a group of three. The place has a really nice ambience – warm, inviting, and perfect for a casual hangout or a relaxed coffee break. The menu is quite rich, offering a broad selection of food and drinks that should suit a variety of tastes. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We placed three simple drink orders – nothing fancy, just cold coffees – but they arrived with a surprising delay of 10 to 15 minutes between each one. It made the experience feel disjointed and uncoordinated, especially considering the drinks themselves were very basic. Overall, Café de Sol has potential with its great atmosphere and diverse menu, but the service needs improvement to make the visit smoother and more enjoyable.

We celebrated a big birthday at Café del Sol and were completely satisfied. Booking a table in advance helped avoid waiting times. Our waitress, Sinan, looked after us all evening with a lot of attention and always a smile on his face and even looked after the two dogs we brought with us. The food was good as usual and the drinks were also tasty. A nice atmosphere to leave everyday life outside.

Es war leider eine Katastrophe. Waren Muttertag zum brunchen dort. Kaffe kam nach einer dreiviertel Stunde. In den Genuss der warmen Speisen und des Desserts kamen wir nicht mehr da gegen 12.15 alles schon aus war. Teller am Buffet haben auch gefehlt. Dafür ohne Getränke 22 Euro bezahlt. Es ist dort mehr Masse als klasse. Weniger Gäste und dafür vielleicht 5 Euro mehr verlangen wäre für die Gäste wie auch für die Bedienung die sich wirklich bemüht hat wahrscheinlich angenehmer. Wir werden das Café del sol auf jeden Fall nicht weiter empfehlen

We went there for brunch on Mother's Day and it was an absolute disaster. Waited for three quarters of an hour for the coffee, no plates at the buffet, didn't have any warm food because everything was already empty at 12.30, so we wanted at least one dessert but that was already gone and couldn't be refilled. Therefore, the price of just under 22 euros without drinks wasn't worth it because unfortunately we only got some breakfast. The waitresses were very attentive and hard-working, but they simply couldn't keep up with the masses of guests. Tip to the organizer: sometimes less is more. It would be better to have fewer guests, increase the price by 5 euros and have satisfied guests and staff who can then serve the guests accordingly. Therefore no recommendation. We will not come again.

Nice restaurant to have a breakfast buffet

It's a good place to meet friends, chat, eat and drink.

We went there for dinner with some colleagues in the evening. Super nice atmosphere, but it's hard to reach without a car. The service was very nice, but really not present. Unfortunately the food was a disgrace. I had a "chilli cheese burger" that didn't taste good at all. Few ingredients, hardly any sauce and tough frozen meat that you would find in the supermarket. I also had nachos with “chilli cheese sauce,” which was also disappointing. The cheese sauce was runny like water and the quantity of nachos was a joke. A colleague let me try the "Chili Cheese Fries", which was a mistake. I then felt pretty sick for the rest of the evening. The days that followed were stomach problems and heartburn, which I had never had before in this bad form (and my stomach can handle a lot...). I'm probably not the first person to have an upset stomach when you read the reviews. Unfortunately, the empty glasses and some plates remained at the table the whole evening, which made it uncomfortable and we weren't able to order much due to the absence of the waiters. If you also consider the exorbitant prices, you have to speak of a failure here. Absolutely not recommended this restaurant.

Very nice service but just too loud

A sunny morning in the Café del Sol Filderstadt – at least in terms of the weather. The three of us were there around 10 a.m., with a pleasantly empty terrace and even emptyer expectations, which unfortunately were even exceeded. The drinks arrived after about 15 minutes, which still made us hopeful. Then a fascinating observation study began: every table around us - arrived later, served earlier, full and satisfied - while we continued to marvel at what was happening with an empty stomach and growing irritation. When I asked the visibly overwhelmed waiter (unfortunately his name has been omitted, but unfortunately his competence too), all he got was a shrug of the shoulders: he couldn't say who ordered what and when. When I wanted to cancel my breakfast, which was still not visible, the answer was: ‘Ok, then not.’ At least honestly. For a café that serves breakfast, people here seem to have a rather allergic reaction to its preparation. Tip: Either employ competent staff – or only open at lunchtime. If you just want something to eat, you're probably better off going to a gas station bakery - at least you know something is coming. And that same morning.

Ich hatte das Schnitzel mit Pommes und Sambalsauce bestellt. Was serviert wurde, war ein vorgeformtes, gepresstes Industrieprodukt, offensichtlich in der Fritteuse zubereitet. Kein echtes Schnitzel, sondern eher ein Fertigprodukt, das weder geschmacklich noch qualitativ überzeugt. Selbst in einfachen Bahnhofsgaststätten bekommt man bessere Gerichte serviert. Sehr enttäuschend – das war definitiv mein letzter Besuch.

Rating: Disappointing – this has nothing to do with a schnitzel After a long time we went to Café del Sol again - unfortunately it was a failure. I ordered the schnitzel with fries and sambal sauce. What was served was a pre-formed, pressed industrial product, obviously prepared in a deep fryer. Not a real schnitzel, but rather a finished product that is neither convincing in terms of taste nor quality. Even in simple train station restaurants you can get better dishes. Very disappointing - this was definitely my last visit.

I found the food really tasty and the service was good despite many tables being occupied. I found the side salad with the burger a little too small, but it didn't cost much. I would have preferred to pay a euro more for more than getting the mini bowl. But you can definitely recommend it.

Very nice decor. Unfortunately, our burgers didn't taste very good. There was far too little sauce and they just tasted dry. Our Ceaser Salad was super tasty with chicken. Service was super nice and friendly. Food came quicker than expected. Our fries tasted really good. Nice and crispy and soft at the same time.

Cool Spanish atmosphere. Service is friendly and on the ball. The cocktails are super good and the menu offers something for everyone. Brunch on Sunday is highly recommended.

The breakfast buffet is very simple. Unfortunately the scrambled eggs were totally dry. Fresh cutlery and washed plates were sometimes very dirty and even had dried food residue on them. Something like this needs to be checked and, if necessary, washed again. It doesn't work at all! Unfortunately, price/performance doesn't fit here at all.

Price-performance: When it comes to food, it's completely okay and justified. At first glance, drinks are about average in price, but if you pay attention to the quantity, they are almost always given in 0.33l or 0.2l.

Eating quite well is becoming more and more expensive, more than inflation would explain. Service has improved significantly, it used to be catastrophic, but now it's quite good. The atmosphere is very nice, especially in summer when the terrace is open. I always enjoy going there, but now it's better if you reserve in advance.

It's a very nice restaurant with very friendly service. Be sure to make a reservation in advance. We meet there regularly because of its central location and easy access to the B27 and the Autobahn. There's free and, above all, ample parking. There's also a gas station next door. The Sunday brunch is highly recommended. The burgers and pizza are also delicious.

Great service, fast and very friendly. Good vegan selection, I really enjoyed my potatoes. Thanks to the very large area, we were able to get a place for two for dinner on Saturday even without a reservation :). The atmosphere suffered a bit because it got very loud, but you can't have both :D.

The service was very ungreatful and every time they come to our table they seem angry at us like we do something, also ceasar with no chicken, I didn’t know we have to ask as extra for them to put some chicken inside. Our friend had birthday this day we go and when we tried to cut the birthday cake the service told us that it’s not allowed? So we kindly paid and left

I really enjoy going to Café del Sol restaurants - the food is good, I like the lively atmosphere. There was an extremely heavy smoker sitting at the table next to me, which even I, as a former smoker, found extremely disgusting and I felt harassed. My request to find another table for me was immediately honored - even though the restaurant was busy. Thank you for this, because that wasn't a given!

The schnitzel and sauce tasted delicious, but exactly the same as five years ago. Kind of boring. And really expensive now. On average around €40 per person without any special features. Background noise very loud. This hasn't improved over the years. Too bad.

There were 5 of us for brunch and there was really something for every taste. My recommendation is to reserve early enough, as the tables are allocated in slots of 2 hours each and everything was fully booked today. Food and drink plentiful and very good. I would deduct half a star from the service because, if you only have a time slot of 120 minutes, it would be nice if all the important breakfast dishes such as scrambled eggs were also available shortly after 9. But that's whining at a high level. But everyone was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately I have to deduct one star from the ambience because the room is a bit too dark for me even when the sun is shining outside. For food, I can recommend the delicious homemade rolls and bread assortment, definitely fresh and warm. The yeast bread and brownies are particularly delicious. Likewise the Belgian waffles, which are available from 10 a.m. Unfortunately, apart from the meatballs, I can hardly say anything about the savory things, I had too many delicious other dishes. The Cafe Del Sol in Filderstadt is visually really appealing. The furnishings, the ambience and the location are well thought out and invite you to linger. You feel comfortable and the atmosphere is right. The service is also worth highlighting - the waitresses are friendly and attentive. The food ranges between “okay” and “good”, i.e. solid, but nothing extraordinary. The big negative point, however, is the prices. It's just too expensive for what's on offer. The price-performance ratio is not right here. Conclusion: Nice shop with a good atmosphere and nice service, but unfortunately too expensive for the quality offered. 3 stars.

No, it really wasn't good. 4 people one gets their food the others 10 minutes later that's stupid. Short visit to the women's toilet, no toilet paper, everything sticks, doors broken. It's not pretty. Food was well, half the Pinsa was really mini, the Pinsa I wanted was unfortunately out, the alternative was ok. The fried chicken strips on the salad and bowl had to be sought out. The schnitzel was OK. What was good was the service. We had a super nice, friendly waitress who immediately took care of the missing toilet paper and had a very positive manner. But we won't see them anymore because we don't go there anymore.

Went here for dinner today. We had to wait over 5 minutes to get a seat. The food took over 40 minutes to come out of the kitchen. The taste was okay, but the fries were only lukewarm and tasted old. There was no excuse for the food taking so long. Not even the children's schnitzel could be brought before our meal. The service therefore only deserves one star. The atmosphere was also poor, a waiter walked past us and was upset about the kitchen.

I dined here once, had a Cessar salad and will never have to eat here again. The price-performance ratio is simply not right. The drinks and atmosphere are good.

Well, where do I start...we made a reservation for 7:15 p.m. and arrived a little earlier and were shown straight to a table. Our (very friendly) waitress (Susi) also arrived after 5 minutes. That was quick. But that was it quickly. Our starter came after 30 minutes (chilli cheese nachos, not recommended, that's maybe 10 nachos and they charge over €7 for them...I don't know). Afterwards we had to wait another 45 minutes (i.e. 1h15m after the original order) for the food. This only happened after we brought it to the attention of one of the staff. The food wasn't bad by any means, but the portion size and the price are out of proportion in my opinion. Either more food or cheaper, but that's not acceptable for me. Finally, the atmosphere: I find the house aesthetically extremely beautiful. But the noise inside is very noticeable even after such a long wait. Overall: If you come here, take a lot of time and patience with you, maybe also noise-cancelling headphones. At the end of the day you get your food and the in-house drinks are not bad. But I wouldn't take a long journey to do this again. I was hoping that my experience was an isolated incident but unfortunately, according to the reviews, that's not the case.

For breakfast on the weekend, nothing was left to be desired. The staff was friendly. The service was not objectionable.

Waren heute zum Frühstücken da. Lokal war nicht so voll und daher sehr angenehm. Wir haben Frühstückplatten bestellt. Es war ok. Die Brötchen waren schön warm. Aber wir mussten recht lange warten. Da wir aber Zeit hatten war es nicht so schlimm, zum Glück war das Lokal nicht gut gefüllt.

Were there for Sunday brunch. Unfortunately, a lot of things were missing or I was spoiled by others. But no fruit or fruit juice. You also had to pay for all drinks. There was no normal coffee or tea. That's included in the price for me. But otherwise good.

The service is super nice and friendly, even with difficult guests. I personally find the ambience pleasant, the catch is that the café looks like a huge hall, I've never seen such a big café before. The name doesn't quite fit, but that doesn't matter. The food was something to complain about, we each had burgers and fries, the fries were good, the composition of the burger was ok, but the meat that was in there was almost 1 to 1 the sole of a shoe, very tough, tasteless, completely dry. Maybe the chef was having a bad day? We would come back and try again. Thanks to the staff, very nice people.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend it. The food was not good value for money. The portions were sometimes really too small for the money. The potatoes tasted good, but not enough. Unfortunately, the Greek salad wasn't really Greek, as it was mainly just lettuce and far too few cucumbers and tomatoes...we also ordered chicken. It really tasted like ready-made chicken like from Subway. It was totally mushy and soft. What was really good were the spare ribs. Overall, we were disappointed and not really satisfied. The service was very nice. There is nothing wrong with it and the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. Maybe next time we should try something different like schnitzel or something. Unfortunately, as things stand now, I wouldn't come again.

I ate vegetarian and it was very tasty, a creative selection of vegetarian dishes. The service is friendly and cheerful. There are also non-alcoholic cocktails on the menu, which are very tasty. The coffee is also very good there. A place where you like to linger.

After waiting for 20 minutes, the lady who was more busy chatting said that this place would be full in 30 minutes. We should sit down with our colleague. Then again after a long wait we left. You don't feel welcome even though the store was almost empty. I can't recommend it.

I was at Café del Sol today and absolutely loved it! The spare ribs were simply a dream – tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned! But what made the whole thing even better was the incredibly nice waiter Nils. He was not only super friendly, but also very attentive and looked after us perfectly throughout the evening. You can really tell that quality and hospitality are important here. The Café del Sol is definitely a highlight and will be on my regular schedule from now on. A huge thank you to Nils and the whole team!

Was there on Friday evening for a drink. I ordered an Aperol spritz. I sat at the bar and could watch how it was mixed. There were shots of Aperol, a small splash of Prosecco and the rest was filled up with water. (like carbonated tap water almost everywhere). I complained about it and was told that was the way it was supposed to be, but I could have a new one. I was pleasantly surprised, only the next one was worse than the first. It was a glass of water with a light orange color and you couldn't even tell that it was Prosecco. You can't win guests like that. An original Aperol Spritz is perfect Prepared 3 parts Prosecco 2 parts Aperol and 1 part water. I think at Café del Sol it should only be called water with a little coloring and that for 7.80 euros When I checked again about the price, I read that there was still orange juice in it. This one flew by on Friday evening. Aperol spritz is not recommended there.

Service was great! But the Pinsa is above all one thing from my point of view: hopelessly overpriced, plenty of great stuff... 15€! A prefabricated floor and, in my opinion, poorly covered.

A bit too loud for me but everything else was really great and so far I've always found a place for more than 4 people without a reservation.

On January 22nd We, a group of 6 people (trade fair team at the CMT), wanted to have dinner. Since it wasn't possible to make a reservation online, we were told when we made the reservation by phone that we could also come by that way. When we arrived around 7:30 p.m., even though there were tables available, we didn't get a table. The young man at the entrance told us "I decide who comes in here and who doesn't". Obviously people between 50 and 60 are not welcome. The question about restaurant manager was answered: "I'm the shift manager here". I know it's hard to find qualified staff, but an employee who treats customers like that wouldn't have a chance in my company. The good thing about the evening: We found a great Italian restaurant and had a great meal. What remains: My employees and I will never visit a Café de Sol again. Update February 5th, 2025: The standard answer from Cafe des Sol shows that they have not recognized the problem. 1. No reservation was possible. 2. The tables that were free were not reserved but were allocated by the "shift manager" according to his own criteria. And we didn't fit his image. Why can't you just apologize for employee misconduct? No Cafe de Sol will see us again and can only recommend avoiding this fast food chain.

As a long-time guest, I'm slowly getting tired of the way people are treated here. Starting with the quality of the food - junk food - at exorbitant prices, up to such a changing quality of service that bears no relation to the standard... A chicken guacamole burger was ordered. A lukewarm burger with breaded chicken fillet (known from industrial production) came for 14.90. Avocado couldn't be found and the salad on it wasn't fresh. The bowl of side salad for 2.90 includes iceberg lettuce, a tomato and a slice of cucumber in a warm bowl. Quality and conviction are somehow different - well-intentioned 3 stars

Delicious and relaxed, be sure to reserve a table

I happened to be there twice in a row, for dinner, the food was okay, not super high quality food but I don't expect that at all, especially not at this price. The service that evening was super nice and on point! Today at brunch, however, the complete opposite, the table was dirty, the service was extremely rude, and clearly didn't feel like it. The food, well... was cheap but not worth the cheap money. It's a shame that there isn't even water or juice included. And when we saw at the end that we had been charged too much for brunch once, the rude waitress immediately rolled her eyes again.

Phew. I don't know where to start. I've never been to Cafe Del Sol before and today was our first visit here (and also our last). The service person was nice, a bit confused and a bit insecure. But at least she did her best. Drinks were also totally fine. The food was a disaster. In our opinion, the lasagne tasted like frozen lasagna and had a very strange aftertaste. You still have to let it go that it was hot. My Aglio pasta was cold, no oil in sight and everything was completely dry - the pasta was still very hard and everything was very strange. Not that it's not enough, no - since this afternoon I've been sitting on the toilet every 10 minutes with stomach cramps. And no, it's not from something else - I only ate food from Cafe del Sol today, and since then I've had stomach problems, so nothing else goes into my stomach. I'm definitely not coming here anymore. I don't have to endure the stomach cramps a second time. Too bad.

The one and only Nils is a treasure of gold! He's in a good mood, entertaining and has blackberries too. How can you let him go? Well at least he’s coming to us in Dresden! ;-) It was delicious with you, cool shop.

The food and the location are recommended, but Nils put the crown on the evening. Service as you wish.

There was a little misunderstanding with us and the waiting time was a little longer. Aaaab: the staff, including shift managers, behaved so professionally and friendly that we weren't annoyed at all, but rather touched by their warmth. Service top!

Good location for meeting for cocktails and long drinks before or after events. Many dates also take place here. Good for a cafe in the afternoon. Very busy on weekends. You can also eat burgers, fries and the like here. Schnitzel and tarte flambée are also offered. There are also some salads to choose from. Decent quality. So there is something to suit your hunger and the service is very friendly. There is a good outdoor terrace in summer, which is also open in winter and is often used by smokers. I always enjoy coming here.

Cool and very nice employees (Nils) + delicious food

Had dinner here with my girlfriend earlier. The food was great and was only topped by the very attentive and incredibly courteous waiter Nils! Outstanding service that we would love to come back for!!

The ambience is quite nice, but it is a bit echoey. The service is quick and friendly. What is not possible, however, is value for money when it comes to the food. My Thai curry for €16 was a tiny portion. Spicy according to the menu, bland in reality. My companion had a salad with additional mushrooms (+4€). Unfortunately there were only 5 little champions on the salad. That's no fun. There's no lunch menu either, but the toilets are clean.

The burgers were really tasty, I have nothing negative to say about them. Better lighting when running out would be beneficial, but that's complaining at a high level.

Today we went to brunch with friends. Unfortunately, the first time we met the waitress was very sobering. She told us that our child, who was sleeping in a stroller, was standing at the table so that she couldn't bring us any drinks. We should move him immediately. The selection at the brunch buffet is extensive and sometimes really tasty and beautifully presented. However, the Maultaschen were already so soggy at 11 that they were inedible, just like the sausages and meat cakes, they were dried out and inedible. The tomatoes looked like they had been on the buffet for several days, including the stalk that someone probably didn't want to remove. It was also stated on the internet and in the menu that there should be waffles, but they weren't available and the waiter said the waffle iron had burned out in the morning and our friendly waitress said "they're not available today." The other things on the buffet were delicious. We won't be going back here any time soon.

Wir waren mit 12 Personen zum Brunch um 10 Uhr. Also von der Zeit her optimal - nicht zu spät, Aber das Buffet war teilweise schon nicht mehr vollständig und die Ware lag schon längers auf den Platten. Leider habe ich keine Fotos gemacht. Habe auch nicht viel davon gegessen, da es mich nicht angemacht hat: Vom Käse gab es nur eine Sorte und dieser war bereits am Rand angetrocknet und hochgerollt. Die warmen Süßspeisen waren ausgetrocknet und unansehnlich. Als ich das Personal darauf angesprochen hatte, hieß es, das wird erst ausgetauscht, wenn es leer ist. Die Aufstriche waren nicht beschriftet und leer. Ich habe dann die Schüsseln an das Personal direkt in die Hand gedrückt. Standen ja 4 Leute hinter der Theke :-( Es gab nur kleine Teller. Kein Brotkörbchen.... die Wurst naja .... Der angemachte Salat schon matschig ... Ich war einfach enttäuscht - und das nicht das erste Mal - werde dort nicht mehr hingehen. Übrigens: Toiletten teilweise ohne Papier, Türriegel ausgebrochen

This evening, at 8pm, my husband and I visited Cafe Del Sol to eat. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but satisfactory. When we sat down at our table, there were still glasses from the previous guests on it. We had to wait a full 30 minutes for a waiter to come to us. He first took our order and then asked us whether the glasses at the table belonged to us. After we said no, the glasses were removed, but the table was not cleaned. To make matters worse, the dish we originally wanted to order was not available. We finally decided on burgers. When these were served we noticed that neither cutlery nor napkins were provided on our table. The waiter had neglected to prepare the table accordingly. We had to get up and get cutlery ourselves. The taste of the food was disappointing and later gave both of us stomach problems. Overall, the service was unacceptable, the hygiene was poor, and the food also left a lot to be desired. After this experience we are sure: we will never visit this restaurant again.
