The ambiance is very pleasant, making it a great place for breakfast and brunch. There's a large parking lot right in front of the door. The food is fresh and delicious. The only downside is that you usually have to wait a bit longer for staff.

I came here alone and was immediately asked what I wanted to drink, which I then served relatively quickly. I finished my coffee after 15 minutes, and now I've been sitting here for an hour and haven't even been asked if I'd like anything else. Truly disappointing.

We visited Cafe del Sol with a group at short notice after finding the doors closed for a half-day company outing at another location, despite having made a reservation and written registration. A quick call to ask if we could come with 14 people in half an hour, and off we went. A large parking lot still had a few spaces available for us, even though we arrived at 1:00 PM. The inviting main entrance has a bit of a Southern feel and offers space to chill with two cool hanging swings and some comfortable lounge chairs. There's also a very wide, barrier-free entrance. Inside, the extremely friendly waitress greeted us and showed us the seats we had reserved in the meantime. Here, several tables were quickly pushed together to form one long table. The food selection is plentiful, and there were enough menus for everyone. Orders were taken wirelessly, meaning the drinks were already being prepared while the food order was still in process. Everyone was ultimately satisfied; the service was extremely friendly, and a colleague helped distribute the food, so everything went smoothly. I give it 99 out of 100 points. My only criticism would be that the chili cheese nachos (the only appetizer) came with the 14 main courses.

We came here today with the work team for brunch. We received a friendly welcome upon arrival and were looking forward to a relaxed start. Unfortunately, the buffet was almost completely empty when we arrived. It took quite a while to refill, which dampened our spirits somewhat—especially considering that the brunch costs €21.90 and is limited to two hours. For the price and time frame, we expected considerably more.

The food is very good, but the staff's behavior is abysmal. They leave cigarettes and Red Bull cans right next to the main entrance, and they chat loudly in front of customers in large groups, instead of doing their job, clearing tables, and making sure the place is halfway clean. The tone of interaction with customers is far from professional; everyone is on first-name terms, and flippant remarks seem to be the norm. The fact that some of the staff work in casual clothes is also completely inappropriate. The young team lacks a manager who isn't your best buddy, but someone who conveys a certain way of working that isn't currently present. For the prices they're paying, they could charge more.

Just came here as a couple ☺️ Shrimp for starters, pinsa and burger for the main course, with delicious, fresh cocktails. Everything was topped off and served quickly by a very friendly, approachable waitress. @Nele, we'd love to come back ;-) I can only recommend everyone to have a great time here :-)

After we had to wait over half an hour for our two drinks (even though it was barely busy!), I naturally complained. The waiter was very passive-aggressive and unfriendly. I definitely won't let him serve me again. The iced matcha latte was also completely undrinkable. There was hardly any matcha flavor or color, it just tasted like milk with an extremely high amount of syrup. Not recommended 👎🏼 sorry.

Highly recommended as you can eat delicious food or just have a good drink.

Very bad burger. Patty overcooked and very dry. Barely any sauce on the brioche bun, just two measly slices of cucumber and one slice of tomato. No lettuce, no onions, no seasoning. Overall, a bone-dry, flavorless affair. No better than the cheapest burger at McDonald's. But it costs almost €10. The hamburger from the legendary Udo Snack on Calwer Straße costs half as much, but is far better. Fries were okay, but nothing more. Super friendly service from Hamburg. Addendum: We've been here a few times for brunch - it's quite okay. Of course, for such a reasonable price, you can't expect to get fried steaks, shrimp, or tuna. No comparison to the Mövenpick brunch. But that's three to four times as expensive. So, the brunch isn't world-class, but it's quite good. It's packed, and you can't get in without a reservation.

I tried the spinach pinsa – it was good, solid. Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, no paper towels in the restroom.

Quite okay. Unfortunately, the burger was served almost cold :-(. At least the sweet potatoes were warm. The taste was more like Burger King, only more expensive. The wait was an hour, which is probably why the burgers were almost cold :-(

The ambiance deserves a star – beautifully spacious. The food was truly delicious and deserves a star as well. Unfortunately, the service leaves a lot to be desired: Our drink order wasn't taken until 20 minutes after entering the restaurant, and another 20 minutes later, all guests finally had their drinks. Only afterward was the food ordered. The service staff responded with little empathy to our feedback. Only after we spoke directly to the manager did things improve: The food arrived promptly, and part of the bill was waived. Nevertheless, the mood was already at rock bottom. Particularly disappointing: There was enough staff, but the organization, speed, and friendliness left a lot to be desired. With a little more structure and commitment, much more could be achieved here. In its current form, unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it.

Despite the exorbitant price increases of recent years and the ever-shrinking portions, we've always found the right thing for the past 20 years and enjoy going to Cafe Del Sol. One advantage of the chain is that there's always plenty of free parking in front of the door, and dogs are also welcome. You can come here for lunch, a business lunch, a brunch, dinner, or a small birthday party. There's something for everyone, from small to large, and vegetarian options. For many years, the Schnitzel del Sol was our favorite, simply because of the homemade hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately, the value for money isn't quite right anymore in terms of portion size and the rather uninspiring side salad, which is why we always eat our way through the other dishes. It's a shame that the meter- or half-meter-long pizza has given way to the pinsa, probably due to profit maximization, but back then, the schnitzel or barbecue pizza was always a treat. On the plus side, the summer specials and homemade iced teas are always available. Despite all the changes, we remain loyal to the chain and enjoy coming to Café del Sol every now and then.

We were a large group of about 15 people at Café de Sol for a special occasion and were very disappointed. Although we all ordered together, one adult and one child in our group didn't receive their food at all, while the rest had already eaten or were finished. After 20 minutes, we asked – the answer was: "That's normal and can happen." We finally said we didn't want any more food, because the child – after initially crying – ended up eating from his mother's plate. The manager's response was also terse. No apology. No accommodation. No customer service. The fact that a child doesn't receive their food at all while everyone else has already finished eating shouldn't be dismissed as "normal" – especially not in a restaurant that claims to be family-friendly. And even if something like that does happen, as a customer, you can at least expect insight and an attempt to improve the situation. Conclusion: Café de Sol is neither child-friendly nor family-friendly – and shows no empathy in its dealings with guests. In addition, the remaining portions were small, and the prices were unjustified.

Disappointing Visit – Not Recommended Despite ordering at the same time, the dishes for the child and an adult never arrived. After a long wait, we had to ask again, but the orders had obviously been forgotten. The service seemed overwhelmed, disorganized, and uninspired. The handling of our complaint was particularly annoying: Instead of apologizing for the mistakes or offering a solution, we were brushed off. No trace of consideration or understanding – unfortunately, an absolute no-go in the service department. Conclusion: Poor service, unreliable processes, and no sense of customer satisfaction. We will definitely not be returning.

A very nice location! There's a bit of aircraft noise when you sit on the terrace, but you know that when you get there! The conditions today were probably new and a bit uncoordinated, but they tried very hard!

Two of us went for dinner one evening with a reservation. Sometimes it's advisable to make a reservation to ensure a spot. The staff was prompt at first, but the food and drinks were delivered in a bit of a wait. The taste was really excellent for this location, and you can even watch some of the food being prepared. The street is a bit noisy at times, but you get used to it. Overall, we'll happily return from time to time.

I was there this evening. The interior is beautiful, and the staff was very friendly. We wanted to sit outside in the great weather and were seated after a short while. The servers outside are completely overwhelmed; the wait time to even order is definitely too long. We both had a Caesar salad with chicken breast as a topping. What we received had absolutely nothing to do with a Caesar. Almost €17 for a carelessly prepared salad with a bland dressing isn't exactly a bargain. For that money, you'd expect something much better. We definitely won't be returning to that place. At the end of our visit, we used the restrooms...that could be much better!

Florida salad with 3 apple pieces from the bucket??? The salad is described as a mix of romaine lettuce, arugula, and iceberg lettuce...with fresh seasonal fruit...apricots and walnuts. What arrived was an iceberg lettuce with tomatoes and 2 slices of cucumber, along with the aforementioned apple pieces from the bucket. When I complained, they replaced it with dried apricots and walnuts. Sorry...but there's another way...have you ever been to Florida???

So, I was there for the first time in a few years. I have to say, it's really gone downhill. The young man who served us outside was very unpleasant. He tried to be nice, but he was very forward, with a really strange tone. Yes, of course, I understand working in 30-degree heat in the shade is hard, but he's not the only one, and to be honest, there weren't many customers there. The lady in the other area was always there, but ours rarely came out. We actually wanted to order something else, but after waiting forever, we changed our minds. Too bad

All in all, it's okay here. It's often a bit crowded, the wait times are long, and the food is always absolutely excellent. There's really nothing to complain about.

The schnitzel (vegan) tasted great, the staff was super friendly, and it was really quick. The ambiance could be improved unless you like the sound of airplanes, as the airport is apparently nearby...

We reserved a table for breakfast on June 6, 2025, and went with friends for breakfast. After ordering our breakfast, we waited for almost an hour, and it never arrived. I asked the person taking our order when we would receive our breakfast, and they rudely told us that we would have to wait because there was only one chef in the restaurant preparing breakfast, and we had no choice but to wait. The behavior and service were no longer worth waiting there.

Prices are reasonable. The food tastes good, and you can sit comfortably in the evening. When the place is busy, service takes a while, but that's okay. I feel sorry for the waitresses, who must be dressed all in black and long trousers—it's probably exhausting in these summer temperatures.

We weren't served for ages – they said someone would be right there, but nothing happened. A new employee then took care of us. The mango passion fruit iced tea (€6.70) was undrinkable because the mango pieces were spoiled. We reported it, but it was merely noted.

Good food but very long wait to be served

We were here a few years ago, but the price-performance ratio has changed a lot. The pinsa was OK, but the price was too high. The burgers were very dry and we wouldn't order them again. My lasagna was forgotten; I was given a to-go as compensation, but that was a joke; we finished two sheets of lasagna. The restrooms and the restaurant are wheelchair accessible. It was a shame there were no games for children. We then went to Burger King to play because the wait was very long and small children can't wait that long.

I've been a regular customer at Café del Sol in Filderstadt for many years and have always been very satisfied. But what happened to me on May 14, 2025, left me speechless. We were politely seated outside, but the table was wet. I politely asked the waitress, "Nele," to wipe it – her reaction was rude, annoyed, and completely disrespectful. She simply took my husband's order, then turned around without a word and left me standing there before I could even order. When I asked her, she responded evasively and snippily, laughed at me in the middle of the discussion, and made me feel unwelcome. Even when I calmly told her that I would prefer to be served by someone else, she mocked me. When I tried to complain inside, she came back, intervened, interrupted the conversation with the receptionist, and was once again cheeky, unbearably temperamental, and overwhelmed. Even the friendly employee couldn't stop her. The icing on the cake was her statement: "You've already said that three times" – I've never experienced anything like that in service before. It's sad when a single, obviously overwhelmed and disrespectful employee completely destroys a place you've enjoyed for many years. And if she was having a bad day, I definitely wasn't there for her to unload it on me. I was disappointed, hurt, and stunned. That's not how you treat guests, regardless of whether they're regulars or not.

Overall, Café de Sol has potential with its great atmosphere and diverse menu, but the service needs improvement to make the visit smoother and more enjoyable.

We celebrated a big birthday at Café del Sol and were completely satisfied. Booking a table in advance helped avoid waiting times. Our waitress, Sinan, looked after us all evening with a lot of attention and always a smile on his face and even looked after the two dogs we brought with us. The food was good as usual and the drinks were also tasty. A nice atmosphere to leave everyday life outside.

We went there for brunch on Mother's Day and it was an absolute disaster. Waited for three quarters of an hour for the coffee, no plates at the buffet, didn't have any warm food because everything was already empty at 12.30, so we wanted at least one dessert but that was already gone and couldn't be refilled. Therefore, the price of just under 22 euros without drinks wasn't worth it because unfortunately we only got some breakfast. The waitresses were very attentive and hard-working, but they simply couldn't keep up with the masses of guests. Tip to the organizer: sometimes less is more. It would be better to have fewer guests, increase the price by 5 euros and have satisfied guests and staff who can then serve the guests accordingly. Therefore no recommendation. We will not come again.

Es war leider eine Katastrophe. Waren Muttertag zum brunchen dort. Kaffe kam nach einer dreiviertel Stunde. In den Genuss der warmen Speisen und des Desserts kamen wir nicht mehr da gegen 12.15 alles schon aus war. Teller am Buffet haben auch gefehlt. Dafür ohne Getränke 22 Euro bezahlt. Es ist dort mehr Masse als klasse. Weniger Gäste und dafür vielleicht 5 Euro mehr verlangen wäre für die Gäste wie auch für die Bedienung die sich wirklich bemüht hat wahrscheinlich angenehmer. Wir werden das Café del sol auf jeden Fall nicht weiter empfehlen

We went there for dinner with some colleagues in the evening. Super nice atmosphere, but it's hard to reach without a car. The service was very nice, but really not present. Unfortunately the food was a disgrace. I had a "chilli cheese burger" that didn't taste good at all. Few ingredients, hardly any sauce and tough frozen meat that you would find in the supermarket. I also had nachos with “chilli cheese sauce,” which was also disappointing. The cheese sauce was runny like water and the quantity of nachos was a joke. A colleague let me try the "Chili Cheese Fries", which was a mistake. I then felt pretty sick for the rest of the evening. The days that followed were stomach problems and heartburn, which I had never had before in this bad form (and my stomach can handle a lot...). I'm probably not the first person to have an upset stomach when you read the reviews. Unfortunately, the empty glasses and some plates remained at the table the whole evening, which made it uncomfortable and we weren't able to order much due to the absence of the waiters. If you also consider the exorbitant prices, you have to speak of a failure here. Absolutely not recommended this restaurant.
