Cafe Del Sol Bayreuth in Bayreuth

Were here as a couple for Sunday brunch. The selection of warm dishes was small and not that convincing. Very child-friendly in taste. However, the price for the buffet did not include drinks, not even simple coffee, tea or juices. This of course drove up the total price per person. So we had to pay €40 per person. This makes the whole thing too expensive and doesn't necessarily make you want to come back.

It's a mystery to me that so many guests still come there. The well-known pizzas are no longer available, instead there is a slimmed down version called “Pinsa” which doesn’t score any points in terms of taste and tastes very much like frozen goods. After we were given a seat and we waited about 10 minutes for the service, she asked us to change the seat because it was already reserved. We were then given a new table that was full of crumbs and we waited another 15 minutes until we could order. There was also no cutlery available.

Highly recommended as a stopover on the way through! We've been here several times, it's almost become a ritual. The order went super quickly today. The service is very friendly, the food and the homemade lemonade and iced tea are delicious and the atmosphere is very inviting. The hummus falafel fries were great. Dogs are allowed here and in summer a water bowl was brought to us directly. :) The only negative point was the Pinsa in spring/summer 2024, it looked very much like a finished product and was very hard ,otherwise clear recommendation!

Went there again yesterday and was extremely disappointed again! A burger with sweet potato fries was ordered. Burnt, black fries were brought with a loveless frozen burger. Cold, untoasted brioch roll, 1x cucumber, x1x tomato, some sauce and a loveless patty. They wanted over 20 euros for this. Fries were returned, which the waitress was sorry about but should never have left the kitchen. I ate the burger because I was hungry. Cafe del Sol..... never ever! The golden seagull would get a Michelin 🌟 from me but Rossin or Rach should come here! Sorry

The restaurant looks inviting from the outside, but some of the tables and cutlery are dirty and unhygienic. The prices are way too high, you get a mini portion. The employees have been trained to always ask whether they are together or separately, even if a parent is sitting at the table with their underage child

Super nice and courteous staff and the breakfast there is also super tasty and highly recommended. When the weather is sunny, the atmosphere on the terrace is also very pleasant.

Mein Besuch im Cafe Del Sol war sehr lecker (ich hatte einen BBQ Burger mit Pommes). Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Allein die Atmosphäre ist einen Besuch wert. Ich freue mich schon auf das nächste Mal.

We reserved a table for breakfast on December 30th, 2023. When we arrived there was no hello or how can you help, just a nerf, we're closing straight away even though the restaurant was full! Apparently there was no food delivery, but at the same time two other waiters walked past us with breakfast! So we went somewhere else for breakfast, when we drove past again 2 hours later the restaurant was still open🤬. Apart from the fact that we arrived with two cars and each had a one-way journey of around 35km, it was the worst service we have ever had. NOT LIKE THAT!

On our drive home after visiting Gigafactory Berlin with Tesla Owners Switzerland 🇨🇭 we decided to have lunch at Café Del Sol in Bayreuth. The decision was spot on! The service was very nice and attentive. Particularly noteworthy was the currywurst, which was super tasty, and we also really enjoyed the schnitzel. The covered terrace with lots of shade was simply awesome and offered a perfect opportunity to relax. Another plus point is that the entire café is wheelchair accessible, which we were very pleased about. We would love to come back and are already looking forward to our next visit!

It's almost a bit incomprehensible that there are also many negative reviews. We thought it was great!

As Tesla drivers, we were happy to find this beautiful restaurant within walking distance. Modern and young with music in the background, a great, large indoor bar with plenty of seating, but also a great covered terrace with a view of the parking lot. The selection on the menu was plentiful, and the staff were quick and polite. Only the pinsa, which could be cut with scissors, which we laughed about, seemed like it was frozen food. Taste good but not a highlight.

It may be nice and tasty, but a bottle of large mineral water for over €8 is too much! The service couldn't keep up with the customers. The men were very distracted. The taste of iced coffee would be good if it weren't for the fact that the whipped cream curdled at over 35 degrees!

Usury!!! Currywurst sauce just Hela ketchup from the tube portions far too small price performance is not right at all Schnitzel the same way too expensive for a ready-made schnitzel once and never again!!!!

Overall a top restaurant. The food tastes very good. I can recommend the Chicken Avocado Fries to everyone. The hand is very supple and the sauce goes perfectly with it. Unfortunately, it happens that you have to wait longer for the food because not all orders have been recorded :(

Die Pinsa hat lecker geschmeckt und war vom Preis her halbwegs abgemessen. Leider sind die Getränke völlig überteuert (1 Flasche San Pellegrino, 0,75 l, 8,10 €) und die Bedienung hat nach einer Stunde, die wir vor unseren leeren Gläsern der ersten Getränkerunde saßen, gefragt, ob sie die leeren Gläser abräumen kann, anstatt noch etwas zum Trinken anzubieten. Insgesamt viel zu hohe Preise bei schlechtem Service. Schade, wir hatten uns mehr erwartet.

We had dinner there yesterday with our company. The burgers were dry and overly expensive. The schnitzels and bowls are definitely not worth the price either. I paid around €20 for a Thai bowl with additional shrimp. Very poorly delivered, I have to say that the only thing that worked was the fries. But you have to pay extra for it with almost every meal.

I recommend Café del Sol to friends and acquaintances because I really enjoyed it there. The food was excellent and the drinks were also very tasty. Although there wasn't much going on on the day we visited, we had to keep drawing the waiter's attention to our table. We would definitely have drunk more and we would have eaten more often. I think the atmosphere is very nice.

Breakfast buffet on Saturday: Very large, nice selection, very attractive presentation, no crowds at all. Very friendly staff. Really cheap price for the buffet. An all around lovely experience. 5 stars for everything!

Hello, We were on the way to Salzburg with 8 people. Stopover at the Supercharger Bayreut Nord. Service, ambience and lunch were top notch. I've rarely eaten so well on the highway!

I recently had a burger...it was lukewarm and with normal pickles...really not a hit. 4 stars because the service staff are very nice.

Cafe Del Sol never again. Today we were on the beautiful terrace in the beautiful weather. We couldn't order food for over half an hour even though we made our presence known. We were just told it would be passed on to the colleague. The gentleman next to us was served immediately. Since no one came to us, we left the restaurant. One star because zero stars don't exist!!

We were very satisfied with our spontaneous visit yesterday - starting with the service, which was very nice and attentive. The food came very quickly and was very tasty, a sufficient portion (warm and as pictured) to really fill you up. We chose iced tea as a drink, which really gave us a holiday feeling. Everything was just right for us and we would love to come back.

A beautiful place, super stylish ambience. We've been there several times and we also knew that it wasn't the cheapest place. The food was always good up to that point, but being served a ready-made schnitzel for €18.90 is not possible at all. Sorry, if it's always like this now, I'm not surprised that there isn't as much going on anymore. It's a shame for this place.

Coffee was lukewarm and didn't taste good at all. It tastes better from Senseo. Staff was nice. No visitors, so to speak, on site.

Had dinner there with my work colleagues. The 2 stars are only there because the food tasted good. The noodles that were ordered were lukewarm. A mini bowl of Parmesan costs €1.20. But what we found really bad are the toilets. One with the remains of a toilet user. The other toilet is broken, the next one is also dirty and in the last option the toilet paper holder is broken. The hand dryer was very dirty. Cleanliness and hygiene should also be a priority in the toilets. Dust upon dust everywhere the eye can see. The service ladies were apparently overwhelmed. Taking the order took a very long time. We cleared the cards off the table ourselves. Sorry, but for the money (around €23 per person) that you have to put on the table here, more has to happen here. We would rather spend our money elsewhere. We don't go here anymore. It's a shame, because it was a good place a while ago.

It was just a short rest, we drank a delicious cappuchino. The ambience outside and inside feels very cozy, exactly what you need after a long car journey. Thanks to the Tesla charging station, we ended up here and will happily go to Café del Sol again at every opportunity! Because… the menu promises complete enjoyment ;-))

I go there with friends every now and then at different times, the best time being in the afternoon or evening. So far we have always gotten a good place and the staff is always very friendly (there are exceptions but fortunately that is rarely the case) and nice. The ambience makes a cozy impression and you can easily stay there for longer. I can't say anything negative about the taste or portions, we always enjoyed it and were full. The price has already increased, but today you don't pay more when you go out to eat/drink somewhere. There is a star deduction for the toilets, as you can clean them 1-2 times more often a day or check whether everything is OK.

First of all: the food tasted good, the staff was very nice. Taking the order could have been quicker, but it was okay. The big problem was - and this was the second time - that the food was lukewarm at best. I accepted that on our first visit, but by then it was getting cold after the time it took to eat. But I noted this when paying. Today I had it returned. This was accepted without any problem. The next load was at least "good warm", not hot, but acceptable. At least just about. That's why the restaurant only gets two stars from me. The potential for four is there, but I don't think there will be a third chance. The reasons ranged from "It's because of the cold burger buns" to "the only two colleagues in the kitchen are new". It may be anything, but a chef who serves lukewarm food - and always seems to do so - has probably missed his job. And ultimately I don't care why it is like that, because it shouldn't be like that. Especially not with the prices that are quoted there. Maybe others will have better luck.

I don't know why, but I always eat the penne honey there... I just love it. That's why I can't say anything about the other dishes now. I think the prices are ok, except for the drinks...excessively expensive. Very cozy and the staff friendly and attentive. Won't be the last visit. Update: After a good year, Penne Honey is called ...Pennen Spezia and it feels like there is less and less on the plate, so the children's portion is more in comparison.....so dear people, it shouldn't fail because of the 10 more noodles , you should be full for the money.

Comfortable is different. Pinsa is not bad, but, like many other restaurants/restaurants, everything is quite expensive.

Apart from the fact that I joined the group or arrived later, I think it's an absurdity to make someone wait forever to even be able to order.. 🙈 Then my drink came way too late (it was on the house, but still)..

Today I was there for breakfast with my husband for a long time. Service very friendly and attentive. Great selection at the buffet. Constantly fresh fruit, various rolls and everything else refilled. We think that after things have subsided a bit, it's good again and worth a visit

Unfortunately delicious 😋. Deductions in service because of the slow service at the table despite empty tables. It felt like hours passed before the money could change hands. Unfortunately delicious is different. Service can be improved. Still great local offers though.

I had a Pinsa at this place recently and I'm sorry to say it was one of the worst I've ever tried. The product appeared to be a prepared meal that was just baked. On top of that, it was absolutely overpriced. However, the friendly service was a bright spot. Still, I probably wouldn't go back due to the quality of the food and the prices.

Best burger I have eaten in a long time even my son ate burger instead of fries. Well done. Giant milkshakes to put a smile on any face.

We went to the restaurant for lunch. During this time our car was being loaded across the street. The service was good and the food was delicious. The rhubarb juice spritzer could have had more flavor. Otherwise everything was fine.

The food has deteriorated significantly over the years and seems anything but fresh and home-made. At e.g. E.g. €18.90 for a schnitzel, or €7.50 for chocolate cake, you would actually expect a decent dish. The schnitzel consisted of 2 ready-made schnitzels from the package and didn't even have a proper breading. Calling this a “Wiener Schnitzel” is actually a joke. The “sauce” of the currywurst was just spiced ketchup, which had already formed a thick skin. The piece of chocolate cake was tiny and also bought somewhere else, so absolutely not worth the price. The only positive things were the fries and the drinks. It's nice to sit and drink together, but the food is definitely NOT worth the money.

We have been enjoying coming to Cafe del Sol for over 10 years now. We were always very enthusiastic about the food and the great service and the ambience. Today we drove past Café del Sol again and wanted something to eat. But what we experienced today really made us very sad. We were there for the last time in August 2023 and, as always, we were thrilled. Today was the first time that my wife left her food and couldn't eat it. She had a Pinsa, which unfortunately couldn't be called a Pinsa. The pinsa was very dry, difficult to cut and the taste was anything but good. I had a burger. Unfortunately I have to agree with many of the reviews! The meat was very dry, not at all juicy and seasoned. And not very warm either. Since I had eaten burgers there several times, I was very shocked by this. It's a real shame because in August the quality and portion size of the food was worlds better. What happened at Café del Sol? We just don't understand how things can change like that. Because the only thing we really have to say is the service was great! And the ambience anyway. That's why it's all the more incomprehensible and really a shame!

Unfortunately, if the weather is bad outside, you won't be served outside. I waited for half an hour and no one came... The employees were sitting inside and taking a break or whatever... everyone had a cell phone in their hand... it's a shame I would have liked to be there ate and drank

Unfortunately, my assessment of this restaurant is rather negative. The quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired: the currywurst was thin and pointy, the consistency was spongy, the sauce was watery, and the fries were crispy but didn't taste convincing. Additionally, the Pasta Aglio was served with penne instead of spaghetti, and although the baguette was fresh, it was not toasted. The prices also seem excessive to me. The service staff tried their best, but seemed overwhelmed, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly full. The ambience is pleasant, but overall I can't say much positive about this place (my personal opinion).

Cafe del sol near the highway. At the same time also near a large gas station. Ambience good as usual. Very good menu with a wide selection. I had a BBQ burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were very tasty, even better than other large burger restaurants. The patty of the burger was cold. The taste was ok but of course dissatisfied. Since the two hard-working waiters were already at their limit and there was no more time for the short stop, the food was not returned. That can certainly be done better.

You have to go there in Bayreuth. Nice cafe on the outskirts of town. Great terrace outside, sophisticated furnishings inside. Good parking options.

I used shrimp as a side dish with my potatoes. I only got 4 small mini shrimps. UPDATE You only get more stars if you have more shrimp. Charging 4.70 euros for 4 shrimps is an outrage UPDATE Thank you very much now there are a lot of shrimp and the service was very good and friendly 👍

Very very few staff when ordering, long waiting time

Unfortunately, the last time we were here was much better... Service was very confusing, we had to wait a long time and then the food was mixed up or not brought at all. Mistakes can happen and that's human, but for a straw it's 50 cents to publishers quite an impudence. The prices were also raised significantly and the food was much better. To charge €15 for a Pinsa with four cherry tomato halves on it is outrageous. We used to love coming to this restaurant...unfortunately a big disappointment

Everything is great, but the price is beyond good and bad. It's only really worthwhile if you can manage to have breakfast for €20 when there's a buffet. Drinks exclusive.

We were here on Valentine's Day. We paid around €22 per person and each had a burger with fries and our own iced tea. The iced tea is priced a little higher here at around €6-7, but it is also larger than the other drinks on offer, so mmn. The price is really good and the taste is great too! Unfortunately, the burger we had was rather mediocre... We actually expected more, the fries were good, but the burger was very reminiscent of McDonalds! It was too dry for my taste, but still tasted good. However, the wait for food/food ratio is unfortunately not at all right. We had to wait 30 minutes until someone came and took our order, and then another 30 minutes until our food was finally on the table. But this was gone very quickly. I was definitely full, but there was "little" to eat, which meant we were finished less than 15 minutes later and headed back home. But the waitresses were all very friendly!

Large location that is easily accessible by car. You can also get there surprisingly easily by bike. The service was quick and courteous. The food is fast food and you can tell that the kitchen uses a lot of short cuts, ready meals and frozen foods. According to colleagues, schnitzel is good, but the rest is more mediocre.

Incredibly huge selection of food for breakfast (open bar). But most importantly, everything was delicious. And so close to the highway exit (we were on the road). Just wow

Went there as a group, service was super nice and quick, but the food was overpriced in my opinion. The ketchup came after the schnitzel was eaten, otherwise it was good. The Pinsa Avocado only tasted like tomato paste. The dessert was ok too.

So far ok, ribs were good, I think Belgian waffles are familiar everywhere else 😉
