Cafe Del Sol in Gelsenkirchen

A cozy del Sol in the heart of Erle. I prefer to visit it on the terrace in summer. The perfect place to spend an afternoon with friends or end the day with something delicious to eat and good cocktails. The service has always been top 👍🏼 a good choice in Gelsenkirchen.

A nice place to stay. Particularly good in summer because you can also make yourself comfortable on the terrace. Large parking lot with regular classic car meetings.

We were there on Thursday and ordered currywurst with fries. The currywurst was a fried Bockwurst with hot curry ketchup. Cruel!!!! My work colleague and I had stomach problems until Friday evening. And that for €9.20. Not recommended at all

We were there spontaneously for coffee and cake. Nice, quick service. The Café Creme tasted good. But... the piece of cheesecake tasted ok but was tiny. Unfortunately, the apple tart was refrigerator cold and rather watery on the inside. For each piece over 4 euros. Not for us again.

Was here for breakfast brunch. Unfortunately only 3 stars. Pay 20 euros extra for breakfast and coffee. That's not possible!!! 2 people 55 euros!!! Not even O Juice for free!!!

As always, the chicken burger was very tasty and the service was really excellent. A big compliment to David, who was always very friendly and attentive! Keep it up! 😊 A small minus point was the seat, right at a service station, where there were baskets with cutlery, napkins and the like. It was a bit busy there.

Were there on Sunday afternoon. We got a table for two, otherwise everything was full. Nevertheless, the service came very quickly. We hadn't chosen anything yet. We weren't forgotten and asked about our satisfaction from time to time. Food was very good.

Not really wheelchair friendly. Table reservations didn't work and the buffet was over my head, so I couldn't see what was available for Christmas breakfast. This didn't work for another guest either. The relatives had to lift their grandfather up to the table with his wheelchair.

Christmas brunch Bad signage for the buffet, meat very dry, no sauce for meat or dumplings, little flexibility for people with intolerance when eating :-( The staff made an effort with the drinks, but can hardly keep up. Table reserved with reference to a wheelchair user and still got a place upstairs where the staff had to be carried up. It's a shame that certain information is not taken into account

Hello everyone, Unfortunately, I have to say that we were very disappointed and shocked at the price-performance ratio. We were there for breakfast and got very small portions. In addition, our meal would have included a rose roll, which was replaced with a smaller one. The reason: we don't have any more. It would be ok if you didn't receive the missing rose rolls when you ordered more rolls. You feel a bit ripped off. The service was nice, but hard to reach. This meant we had to wait a long time or even go to the counter. Very unfortunate.

Breakfast was generous from the buffet with a huge selection

We always enjoy visiting the café. The staff is super nice and the food and drinks are good. It is a shame, however, that the terrace is open but is not warmed with the existing patio heaters. When we asked, an affected employee told us that her boss did not think it was necessary to put it into operation. If the outside temperature is plus 4 degrees, it is probably still much too warm for that. Very unfortunate. That made our visit to the location somewhat uncomfortable. But that's what happens to us smokers every now and then 🤷 Therefore unfortunately 2 stars deducted

We spontaneously went there in the evening and had something to eat. The food was okay, but of course you can't compare it with a conventional restaurant. What we really liked was the fast and friendly service.

Worth it, super nice staff. Price/performance absolutely recommended. Delicious food and drinks. On match days, be sure to book/reserve a table easily online. We would love to come back...

I feel comfortable there when it's not too crowded

I went there for dinner with my girlfriend today and, as always, it was very crowded. Food was very tasty.👍I can only recommend Café der Sol. Service was very nice. But I have to say about the toilets, 2 were not locked and the 3 were totally dirty, I didn't want to say anything about it because I still wanted to eat. Please check the toilets more often 👍👍👍👍👍

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my visit to Café del Sol. The portions were significantly too small compared to the prices, and the price-performance ratio wasn't right for me. The taste of the food was okay, but given the prices I would have expected larger or higher quality portions. It's a shame, because the atmosphere is really nice and inviting.

Ambiance is good, although very loud. Service varies, ranging from poor to very good. Prices are high. This system catering doesn't need a chef, anyone can do TK!!!

So far everything was great, I just thought it was a shame that the table was too big, something smaller would have been better so that you could sit closer to your partner 🙂 and you could shake hands.

We were there on a Sunday for brunch with a larger group. The staff was very friendly, but as the number of visitors increased they couldn't keep up with the drinks. The brunch selection was okay, but in my opinion it wasn't worth 20.90 euros. All drinks had to be paid for separately.

Been there last year and last week - disappointed again. Service looks left right and doesn't know what to do. There is probably no reception again. You have to speak to the service person yourself otherwise things won't work. Tables are only cleared when someone has sat down there :/

On a bike tour from Bochum we treated ourselves to a little snack break here: Delicious burgers with sweet potato fries and truffle mayo. Friendly and fast service, tasty food with fresh ingredients - we felt comfortable!!

We had reserved a table, but it was too loud and too crowded for us and they looked for another table for us and also apologized because it was too loud and too crowded in the corner. We often like to visit Cafe del Sol, the service makes it worth going there. The food is tasty, but often cold or lukewarm. The ambience is good but it can get very loud and unpleasant. The waiters always give us a good feeling and we feel like we are in good hands, so that the “worse” things are quickly forgotten. Kind regards to Robin and Lorena. the waiters who have served us so far and have looked after us and our children well.

This Café del Sol location has been fantastic since day 1. It is in the right location with various options to eat, a cinema and water park in the immediate vicinity. Plus the food and drinks are great for what Café del Sol is. Don't expect a Michelin restaurant here. But because you can sit comfortably and get something delicious to eat as well as various drinks, it's great. I can only recommend it to everyone. This location is only 4 minutes away from the A2 exit and is easy to reach by public transport. Thanks to the team and for the great atmosphere

Participated in the “Schnitzel Holiday”. First portion was ok. If you only order schnitzel, they are mini small and you have to wait forever. You can only reorder when your plate is empty, so you don't have to shorten the waiting time. (The stomach closes more quickly and you drink too!!) ​​We sat outside and had to deal with a lot of wasps - many guests fled inside. Prices have gotten really high. No disabled access. For the money you can eat much nicer and better food. It was definitely the last time.

We had pre-booked a table and that was a good thing. The service was very friendly and the food came very quickly. Wasn't the last visit there.

Creepy Chicken Teriyaki Pinsa, completely frozen not just the base. Normal price €15.90 completely overpriced. The ambience is very nice, staff; only pupils and students, very nice.

Great location for "young" & "old" and super cool ambience - no matter what the weather is - great when the sun is shining by using the outdoor area, but also otherwise a nice place for a social meeting with good food in a relaxed atmosphere, highly recommended :-)

Went to Cafe Del Sol again today. The service was quickly at the table to take the order. Drinks came quickly and the food didn't take long either. We were guests before a concert for a quick drink and a quick snack. The service was quick and it was easy to get by due to the reduced menu Crowd clear. The food and drinks were all good too.

Food (BBQ pulled turkey burgers) were very tasty, drinking was moderate, beer was ok, but my mojito consisted of a whole lime, in 8 pieces, and 4 sprigs of mint, fresh but with lots of dark spots, in a max. 0.3 glass. Unfortunately I didn't taste any alcohol. Service was very nice, prices were extremely high.

Went to Café Del Sol yesterday for lunch and had a very pleasant time there. The food there tasted great and the service was great too. The waiters were incredibly friendly and handled the hot sun extremely well. However, I really have to say that it is unreasonable to let the waiters walk around in the hot sun wearing black clothes. You could sometimes see how wet the waiters' T-shirts were and how warm they were. Maybe we should pay more attention before something else happens. Otherwise we would definitely recommend the cafe.

Simply a great atmosphere right near the Veltins Arena. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a really great evening. The staff is more than friendly and the food and drinks were really great.

We wanted to order the All Summer Long breakfast today at 11:02 a.m. Breakfast is only offered until 11 a.m. We were told poor service. Apparently they can afford it so all we had was something to drink. It was too early for a main meal for us

Nice Café del Sol right at the Gelsenkirchen stadium. We were there before a Rammstein concert and had a great meal. The music that would be heard later was even discussed and alluded to. Staff super nice! Keep it up 👌🏻

Actually a very nice restaurant, a bit noisy but you can relax here. What's not so positive are the prices, an iced tea for €6.70 is already steep. The worst thing that cost us the most was the “house bread with 3 dips” for €9.70. What you get is a baked baguette with 3 dips that don't come close to the bread - we had hollandaise, remoulade and mayonnaise with garlic. Which was supposed to represent the “aioli”. - You really can't offer that for just under €10. (The baguette was this classic baguette for baking from Rewe for 99 cents 😂)

A nice mix of café, bar and restaurant. There is a seasonal menu with delicious dishes. Even though it was an S04 matchday, it went relatively quickly. We thought it was very tasty. Prices okay, our service was great².

We went to the Cafe Del Sol before and after a concert (the concert starts at 7:30 p.m.) in the VELTINS Arena to have something to eat and drink. The staff was very friendly and quick, even though it was very busy. We barely waited 5 minutes for drinks and the food was at our table after 15 minutes. It's practical that there is a shortened special menu with all relevant food and drinks for concert evenings. After the concert we went back to Cafe Del Sol and were pleased that the kitchen was still open and the orders came just as quickly as in the afternoon. A clear insider tip for everyone who attends an event in the VELTINS Arena.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere! Was there during one of the Taylor Swift concerts and they responded completely. Very nicely done. Didn't know it but will definitely visit again!

The ambience is very nice, the staff was quite quick but also a bit snotty. But it was probably because the store was very full because of the Rammstein concert. The food was satisfactory even if I didn't notice any spiciness in the sambal hollandaise.

Good and quick food. Despite the huge crowds, we didn't have to wait long for food and drinks. The toilets could have been cleaner but given the number of people it's no wonder and only a deduction in the B grade.

Was here after a concert. And something to eat and drink. Even though the place was suddenly full. After the concert, the conditions in the restaurant remained relaxed. We got along really well with the crowds. One table after another was served. Just ordered and different conditions came with the drinks. When eating exactly the same, hardly any waiting time. That went like clockwork. Very well organized there. Respect. And all conditions very friendly and accommodating. And very attentive.

Service was completely overwhelmed even though the store was empty. No questions were asked about new drinks or anything like that. Half of the bill was wrong & the waiter dripped his sweat all over one of us's shoulders. We definitely won't come back and can't recommend the food either.
