Cafe Bootshaus in Wuppertal

Ein wunderschönes Lokal direkt am Wasser mit einer tollen Atmosphäre und schönen Schattenplätzen. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich und bietet sowohl für Vegetarier als auch für Fleischliebhaber eine gute Auswahl. Wir hatten einen Salat und Bruschetta, beides war super frisch, perfekt gewürzt und einfach richtig lecker. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Parken kann man nicht direkt am Lokal, aber der kurze Fußweg dorthin lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Klare Empfehlung!!!!

Hallo! Deren Bootshausburger war echt lecker, riesig und nicht zu teuer. Die Bedienung und Koch waren sehr kompetent und nett, bescheiden noch dazu. Bequeme Sesseln. Tolle Lage, aber sehr schwierig einen PKW zu parken.

Ein Besuch lohnt sich! Tolle Lage, direkt am Wasser. Sehr freundliche und flotte Bedienung, gute Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen unter Glasdach, Sonnenschirmen auf der großen Terrasse, oder drinnen im Lokal. Die Speisekarte bietet eine gute Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Die Preise sind zeitgemäß. Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe zum "Geburtstagsessen" dort. Wir hatten z.b. Champignon-Schnitzel mit Pommes und Salat, oder Burger mit Pommes. Alles war sehr schmackhaft, qualitativ richtig gut und mengenmässig sehr sättigend. Für Senioren gibt es sogar kleinere Portionen. Wir waren alle rundum zufrieden! Dieses Lokal ist sehr empfehlenswert, wenn die schöne Lage mit einfachem, aber naturnahem Ambiente gesucht wird. Kleiner Wermutstropfen ist allerdings, daß man sich möglichst vorher über Parkmöglichkeiten in der Umgebung informieren sollte, da sonst ein kleiner Fußweg erforderlich ist, der sich aber lohnt. Gerne wieder!!!

Nichts gegessen dort. Wir haben Wasser getrunken. Wasser war kalt genug. Allerdings hat mich verwundert, das im Aushang andere Preise standen als letztendlich gefordert. Vielleicht wäre es gut und sinnvoll den Aushang anzupassen.

Der neue Inhaber ist um Welten besser. Vergessen sie alles was vorher war, Kein vergleich zu vorherigen lokal. Weiter so das hat in Beyenburg gefehlt. DANKE . Leider kostet Hafermilch pro Tasse 1.50 Euro mehr. Das habe ich selbst in Düsseldorf noch nicht gehabt. Die qualität ist ja in Ordnung. Aber das geht gar nicht👎

Zum ersten mal hier gewesen und wir waren begeistert. Diese wunderschöne Lage, der wirklich sehr freundliche Service und dann die leckeren heißen Speisen. Einfach nur Top. Danke für den schönen Augenblick. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und kommen bald wieder!

Tolles Lokal direkt am stausee.

Beim Spaziergang durch Beyenburg bin ich zufällig am Bootshaus vorbeigekommen und wollte eigentlich nur eine kurze Kaffeepause machen. Daraus ist dann ein spontanes Essen geworden. Obwohl ich nicht viel erwartet hatte, konnte mich der Bootshaus-Burger voll überzeugen. Frisch, saftig, lecker. Ich komme gerne wieder, wenn ich nochmal in der Gegend bin. Update, Mai 2026: Heute erneut hier gewesen, bei bestem Wetter, um etwas zu essen und zu trinken. Die Preise haben ganz schön angezogen: 0,2 l Softdrink 3,50 €, Burger ohne Pommes 16,50 €? Sind wir hier auf der Kö? Schade, aber da verzichte ich gerne

Ich habe mit meiner schwangeren Frau einen Spaziergang um den Stausee gemacht. Wir hatten eine wirklich enttäuschende Erfahrung mit diesem Restaurant. Wir sind um den Stausee spazieren gegangen, als meine schwangere Frau dringend auf die Toilette musste. Das Restaurant hat tatsächlich 1€ verlangt, nur damit sie die Toilette benutzen darf. Das ist einfach eine Unverschämtheit. Natürlich kann man verstehen, dass manche Restaurants verhindern wollen, dass Nicht-Gäste die Toiletten benutzen – aber für eine schwangere Frau absolut kein Verständnis zu zeigen, geht gar nicht. Als wir das Restaurant zuvor gesehen haben, dachten wir noch, dass wir hier vielleicht irgendwann einmal essen gehen könnten. Nach diesem Erlebnis kommt das für uns definitiv nicht mehr infrage. Die Aussicht mag schön sein und das Essen vielleicht auch gut – aber wir werden unser Geld ganz sicher nicht bei einem so kinder- und schwangerenunfreundlichen Betrieb lassen.

Wir wurden leider soeben plump abgefertigt. „Die Küche ist überlastet, es gibt nichts zu essen.“ Ärgerlich - man könnte wenigstens einen kleinen Snack anbieten.

Wirklich klasse Essen und sehr netter Service. Wir hatten den Bootshaus-Burger mit Pommes, die Bratkartoffeln, einen Flammkuchen mit Rucola, getrockneten Tomaten und Mozzarella sowie das Champignonschnitzel. Alles hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Zudem gibt es Pils, Helles und Weizen vom Fass. Sehr gerne wieder!

Also von mir eig Null Sterne. Viel zu überteuert, obwohl das Essen nichtmal gut ist. Personal ist auch überhaupt nicht freundlich plus ich fands dort so unhygienisch. Würde es niemanden empfehlen...

An einem Sonntag im März bei schönstem Frühlingswetter dort gewesen. Die Wartezeit auf einen Sitzplatz war bei dem Wetter zu erwarten, hielt sich aber dann doch in akzeptablen Grenzen. Am Wasser gelegen mit wunderschöner Aussicht. Service war sehr gut, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Trotz der Besucherdichte keine Hektik spürbar. Habe dann das bergische Schnitzel (Normalportion) bestellt. Kam dann auch wie erwartet mit geschmorten Zwiebeln und Bratkartoffeln. Die Bratkartoffeln kamen wohl aus der Tüte, lässt sich wohl auch nicht anders bewältigen, allerdings zu wenig gebraten, eher geschmort. Das war dann aber auch der einzige Kritikpunkt. Preis-Leistung absolut in Ordnung, mit Getränk unter 25 €.

Ich habe bei Sonnenschein draußen auf der Terrasse gesessen und zu Mittag gegessen. Ich hatte mir ein Championschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und einen Beilagensalat ausgesucht. Dazu hatte ich ein alkoholfreies Weizenbier. Es schmeckte alles sehr gut. Von der Terrasse aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf den See. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und ich wurde schnell bedient. Ich werde gerne wiederkommen.

Sehr schön gelegen komme immer gerne dort hin aber ein Milchkaffee für mittlerweile 5 Euro ist schon echt übertrieben beyenburg ist halt nicht Köln am Rhein oder in Berlin man sollte die Getränke Preise echt überdenken die Preisen für Speisen sind im normalen Schnitt aber was die Getränke betrifft ist das echt ein bisschen viel

I ate there with my wife on July 6th, 2025, at lunchtime. My wife ordered a schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries, and I ordered a burger with fries. The burger was a frozen patty and tasted like shoe leather. It cost €14.50. Oh well... The fries were €3.00 and very soggy. The schnitzel also seemed frozen. When we asked, the cook confirmed that it was frozen.

Good location, good portions, delicious food, friendly service, but we had to get up ourselves once to order more. Still, 5 stars :-)

I ate at the Bootshaus today with my family (8 people in total), and everyone (ages 5-75) was thrilled with the food and the friendly service. There's a lovely terrace, but we sat inside due to the evening temperatures. We ordered various burgers and schnitzels, as well as a tarte flambée. Even our special requests were accommodated. An all-around successful restaurant visit, and it won't be our last at the Bootshaus.

We had a similar experience. We were unexpectedly given the opportunity to take a break at the reservoir. The service was friendly and attentive. The tables weren't too close together. The cakes were delicious. We'd love to come back. :)

Friendly staff, but we waited forever for our drinks. Then they brought the wrong one. We didn't even dare to order food. When we paid, the amount was wrong, so we waited again... Unfortunately, not recommended.

A cozy restaurant on the Beyenburg Reservoir (on the Wupper River) with a lovely outdoor terrace. It serves good home-style cooking and a variety of schnitzel dishes. Delicious cakes are available for coffee. The staff is very attentive and prompt. A great place to stop after a hike.

We wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time because of its beautiful location, but we left disappointed. The tables are dirty and they are not wiped down when new guests arrive (we observed this with several guests). Drinks arrive relatively promptly, but sometimes not. It took a very long time before we could order, and during that time the waitress walked past us a few times without asking. We waited another long time for two mini salads. The salad wasn't very good; the only crunchy part was the core of the lettuce leaves, and the leaves themselves were very limp. The dips and bread also came with six really small and unloved baguette slices, two of which had more of a hole in the inside of the bread than bread. In the end we paid and mathematically we paid too much. They were probably also stubborn at our table, bringing us too much and we hadn't ordered, and they communicated this in a way that we hadn't ordered and that it could be returned or sent to the correct table. All in all: disappointing and very chaotic when it comes to serving guests.

I rarely rate, but here I have to and especially with FIVE stars! It was great all around, the ambience, the schnitzel, the fries and especially the mayo. I can't believe it, but I'm mentioning mayonnaise... The only compromise I have to make is with the beer, hop juice is not a matter of taste! Warstein isn’t allowed to do that! 🤣 It was really very nice, anyone who knows the boathouse from before won't recognize it. From a waffle shop to an insider tip with a really nice ambience by the water! I wish you good luck, keep it up! We'll meet Again!!!

The Bootshausburger is a dream. Really good with the braised onions. Slightly sweet. There was a new operator as of March 1st, 2025. We waited less than 10 minutes for our food.

Unfortunately only three stars. We waited an hour for our food. Simply schnitzel with fries. Unfortunately no salad. The schnitzel was as thin as a pancake, the fries were great. Staff completely overwhelmed. The location is fantastic.

We were here for the first time today. The cafe-restaurant with a terrace facing the lake, located directly on the reservoir, is a popular meeting place after a walk along the lake. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The menu is not large, but I think everyone will find something here.

Restaurant located directly on the water with a beautiful outdoor terrace and a cozy and lovingly decorated interior. We were warmly welcomed and served attentively. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. We'll be back. By the way, dogs are also welcome.

The food was simply bad. The burger was brought on cold bread with a base soggy with fat, no lettuce leaf or other decoration was delivered carelessly by a completely untrained "waiter", the Viennese style schnitzel consisted of a meat-like, breaded mass that could be mashed without a knife, for 15 euros. NEVER AGAIN.

If you're lucky, get a table outside.

The host is relatively new. I came for lunch, but unfortunately it wasn't offered yet. There was coffee and cake instead. For later I would say that it is a good place to visit right on the Wupper.

We celebrated our birthday there, the ladies were exceptionally nice and the food tasted delicious! The view is unique and you can call it a bit like a vacation!

We cannot judge food. Just had something to drink. But it looked very good on the plates at the neighboring tables. Large portions. The location is great, right on the Beyenburg reservoir with a terrace. Stopped there during our bike ride. Only taking the order and bringing the drinks took a long time. We decided against placing another order.

A nice café that invites you to linger. In summer you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the view of the countryside and the reservoir. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The order is processed promptly. We only ordered coffee and cake, but it was homemade and really tasty. The hot dishes served around us looked and smelled good. If you would like to come with several people, you should make a reservation in advance.

Today we spontaneously spent our evening in Café Bootshaus...it was great! The food was very tasty (we had currywurst fries, tarte flambée and fried potatoes). The service was VERY friendly and the view of the lake was free. We would love to come back ☆☆☆☆☆

We hosted our silver wedding anniversary celebration for about 25 people. The food was great, especially the schnitzels were delicious as always. A highlight was sitting outside at the dam. Despite our excitement, the staff remained calm and were very attentive. Always happy to go there!!!

Good offer for a restaurant, including drinks and cakes. Very friendly service that proactively communicates a difficult (offer largely sold out before the holiday week) situation and 'makes the best of it'. Closed for holidays from August 12th to 18th, 2024.
