Café Bistro NOY in Bacharach

Today we visited this small restaurant in the heart of Bacharach. The small restaurant is comfortably furnished, and it's a lovely place to enjoy an aperitif. When we asked for the bill, it arrived promptly. We rounded up the amount and left a small tip. No thank you, no goodbye… Nothing. The money was taken, and they simply disappeared. I find this kind of behavior towards the customer a bit rude. Therefore, it only gets 2 stars. It's impossible to judge the quality of the food.

The people were so nice and welcoming, and the food was really good! Special thanks to the waiter who was so happy I tried the Shashlik, it was great! They have an english menu, and the place is cozy.

It is a true delight in Bacharach’s old town! The Armenian family running this cozy spot welcomed us with such warmth, creating a friendly atmosphere that made the wait worthwhile as the chef cooks every dish fresh to order. The menu blends German, Italian, and Armenian dishes, using fresh meat from a local butcher. The wild boar goulash with spätzle and grilled sausage with homemade sauce were really good. We loved it so much we came back for dinner the next day! Be patient, soak in the hospitality. Cash-only. Can only recommend!

Traveling around Germany, we arrived in the small town of Bacharach on the Rhine. Delightful views, authentic architecture were complemented by a completely unusual dinner in the family cafe-bistro "Noah", which we accidentally stumbled upon. The first thing that greeted us was the sincere attention, individual approach and cordiality of the cafe owners. A small cozy room, the smell of childhood, the feeling that you are with old friends. While we were waiting for our order (20 minutes, because everything was prepared from fresh products in front of us), we enjoyed drinks from local grape varieties, a comfortable environment and a conversation with the owners. They turned out to be from Armenia, speak four languages, brought national flavor to both the menu and the atmosphere of the cafe. And when the main courses were brought, we forgot about everything. Have you ever eaten a fluffy steak? The most tender meat, thin breading, fried in fresh oil - nothing to add or subtract! And what about wild boar goulash in an exclusive sauce from the chef? Melts in your mouth! A birthday for the heart, a feast for the stomach. Excellent coffee and homemade desserts - I didn't want to leave this hospitable place. We travel further, but the atmosphere of this wonderful town, the cordiality of the people, the warm relationships have stayed with us. If you are in Bacharach, be sure to visit "Noah", you will not be disappointed!

It's not easy to find something to eat in Bacharach, which seems to be well past its prime. We ended up at Noy and were pleasantly surprised. What friendly people. We had the best schnitzel in Germany, and it was freshly made. Definitely worth a visit.

Beef sausage with fries was great, 14 euros was completely fine

We wanted something to eat for lunch, so we simply ordered bratwurst and salad. It took so long that we finally asked when our food would arrive. They replied, "Have you ordered food? I'll check." Then nothing again. We finally paid for our drinks, and then suddenly our food was ready, so we didn't have to stress so much. Not recommended; there are much better places in the village.

A week in Germany, and this restaurant had the best braut so far. The waiter was friendly and helpful, providing directions when we were lost. After that, we came back for lunch and wished we were in town long enough to come back again and again! Love this place.

I had the rigatoni mafia and it was absolutely incredible!! I would 100% recommend this cafe on your stop in this wonderful town!! 5 stars is not enough 😋

Out of nearly 10 days spent among 4 countries in Europe, our meal and experience here is at the top of our list. The owner provided exemplary service, local wine recommendations, and gave tremendous insight into the backstory of the restaurant, her family, and the town. Our meal was incredible, freshly prepared in a timely manner. The wine was the best we had in Germany, generous pours at a great price. The outdoor patio was so cozy for what could have been a chilly day in April, accompanied with outdoor blankets and beautiful chandeliers. Our day almost went downhill after a missed train from Frankfurt, and then a cancelled train in Koblenz, but this was the saving grace of the day. 10/10 experience and service - cannot recommend enough! We hope to come revisit one day.

Friendly hosts and incredibly delicious food with reasonable portions. While the other restaurants here give the impression that they're just trying to profit off tourists, this one really delivers. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We're thrilled. The food is very good. We've been there three times now and have been full of praise each time. We're already looking forward to eating there the next time we're in Bacharach. It's like being invited to a good meal at a friend's house, with the only difference being that you pay the more than fair prices at the end of the meal. Personally, I can HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The food looked so delicious that I completely forgot to take photos.

The owners are nice but that's it. Outrageous prices and mini portions. The cake is a ready-made product, the salad is a joke! Iceberg lettuce garnished with 2 wafer-thin slices of radish. We waited 45 minutes for the food and it only arrived when we asked! There are better restaurants in Bacharach. The bistro is ok for a coffee.

Wir waren in drei Tagen viermal dort. Der Kuchen ist nicht zu toppen. Die warmen Gerichte sind genauso empfehlenswert. Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr derart gute Nudelgereichte gegessen. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut fair. Die Inhaber, Gastgeber sind einfach klasse. Sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit, ohne auch nur eine Sekunde aufdringlich zu sein. Von aussen sieht das Café Bistro unscheinbar aus, aber es ist ein MUSS, wenn man in Bacharach ist. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder nach Bacharach und wir besuchen dann ganz bestimmt wieder das Café Bistro Noý.

This is a very small, very simple, family-run restaurant, right around the corner from the Rhein Hotel, where we were staying. We went there on a Monday night because (a) it had good reviews and (b) because it was open on a Monday night when pretty much everything else in town was closed. The restaurant looked pretty from the outside, and we had looked inside when we made a reservation. We hesitated because it looked very simple, with a limited menu...a half-dozen German specialties, two pasta dishes, and a shish-kebab that I believe was Albanian. We weren't expecting much, but were we ever surprised. The staff...all 3 of them if you don't count the little girl who was doing her homework...were all very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent...well beyond anything we were expecting. The whole experience, from start to finish, was delightful. It was one of those occasions where everything managed to strike exactly the right note. What a treat! Our group of 7 people was in Germany for almost two weeks, and we all agreed that this was one of the top two restaurants of our whole trip...and the other one was a very high-end place favorably mentioned in the Michelin Guide.

Die Familie sehr herzlich, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen sehr lecker ( Schaschlik und Spaghetti Bolognese ). Wir sind am nächsten Tag nochmals zum Essen hin, weil uns die Familie so berührt hat mit ihrem Zusammenhalt und Gastfreundschaft, wie man dies nur noch ganz selten findet !!! Und natürlich auch wegen dem schmackhaften Essen. Vielen Dank !!! Wir kommen wieder, wenn wir in der Nähe sind !

Very charming bistro, right on the main thoroughfare in Bacharach. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see a vegetarian Bratwurst on the menu and it was delicious. Our son got chicken nuggets and he liked them. Simple, but hearty food. The service was great - we don't speak German but the server made every effort to understand and accommodate us. The small patio is very picturesque and the coffee was also very good. Recommend for a snack or in-between meals!!

Man sieht es dem Restaurant nicht an: die Betreiber kommen aus Armenien (nur der Name „Noy“ gibt einen dezenten Hinweis auf den armenischen Berg Ararat, an dem Noah mit seiner Arche ankam). Das Land ist für seine unglaublich vielseitige Küche und warmherzigen Menschen bekannt. Genau das bekommt jeder, der zu „Noy“ kommt. Die Betreiberfamilie hat dem einheimischen Geschmack zuliebe auch Bratwurst auf der Speisekarte, aber selbst diese ist besonders (handgemacht von einem Metzger in der Nähe und wird doch sehr edel serviert). Neben feinen italienischen Gerichten bekommt man natürlich armenische Gerichte - und hier habe ich richtig zugeschlagen. Schaschlik war himmlisch. Ich habe noch mindestens eine Stunde mit dem Betreiberehepaar und ihren beiden erwachsenen Söhnen, die gerade Semesterferien hatten und zu Hause halfen, geplaudert, weil es sich so familiär und warmherzig anfühlte und ich am liebsten noch eine ganze Weile dort bleiben würde. Auf meiner Mehrtagestour mit dem Gravel-Bike vom Bodensee ins Rheinland habe ich wirklich viel, viel gesehen - das Mittagsessen in Bacharach bei Noy ist auf meiner ganz langen Erlebnisliste in die Top 3 geraten (wobei ich mich bei der Reihenfolge bis heute nicht entscheiden kann). Liebe „Noah-Familie“ - danke euch, ich komme bestimmt wieder, auch wenn es für mich nicht ganz um die Ecke ist.

You can't tell from looking at the restaurant: the operators come from Armenia (only the name "Noy" is a subtle reference to the Armenian Mount Ararat, where Noah arrived with his ark). The country is known for its incredibly diverse cuisine and warm-hearted people. That’s exactly what everyone who comes to “Noy” gets. To suit local tastes, the operating family also has bratwurst on the menu, but even this is special (handmade by a local butcher and served very elegantly). In addition to fine Italian dishes, you can of course get Armenian dishes - and I really hit the spot here. Shish kebab was heavenly. I chatted for at least an hour with the couple who ran the place and their two adult sons, who were on vacation and helping at home, because it felt so familiar and warm and I would like to stay there for a while. On my multi-day tour with the gravel bike from Lake Constance to the Rhineland, I really saw a lot - lunch in Bacharach near Noy made it into the top 3 on my very long list of experiences (although I still can't decide on the order) . Dear “Noah family” - thank you, I'll definitely come back, even if it's not quite around the corner for me.

We were in Bacharach back in April and ate at this lovely little restaurant. I had the Shashlik on thnight with a recommended Kabinett Riesling semi-Trocken which was outstanding as was the Shashlik, so good in fact that we went there on our second and last night in Bacharach. I had the Schnitzel with the same semiTroken. One of the best eating experiences in our 5 week trip across Germany and through Chechia,Austria,Slovenia,Italy and finally Switzerland. The Cafe left a vivid and very warm impression on my wife and I.

Eating here is a pure pleasure... cozy atmosphere (we sat outside), super friendly service from the owner's son... there is hardly anything like that left in Germany today... we ate the homemade specialties (wild boar goulash and... Armenian shashlik) ... what can I say, you can't prepare a dish better than this

What a special find! My husband and I decided to pay a visit to Bacharach on August 17th. It was a day trip that we just decided on Friday night. Once we arrived in Bacharach we wanted to have lunch. After a traumatic train ride from Mainz, we were extremely excited to finally arrive in Bacharach. We strolled down Oberstraẞe just wandering along with the many tourists. Once we spotted the Cafe Bistro Noy we decided to have lunch there. We were not disappointed from start to finish. We were greeted by the most welcoming waiter. There were many customers in the Cafe but it did not take away from his greeting each table. Once seated we were given menus right away. The Specials were house specials that were all HOMEMADE! We decided to have the wild boar Gulasch with Spätzle and I enjoyed the Schaschlik with Pommes. The prices were reasonable and the service was simply impeccable! You cannot teach friendliness you either have it or you don‘t. The young waiter had it!!! We highly recommend a visit to this restaurant and we will definitely be back soon.

The service is really nice and the ambience is great too. However, the food is very meh with fairly high prices and small portions. 5 frozen chicken nuggets and a handful of fries for over €10. The apple strudel also tasted frozen. Spaghetti Bolognese was ok except for the portion size. It's just for tourists who will never come back anyway.

We stopped here for the vegan sausage, excellent! The young server was so nice that we returned. Armenian hospitality at its finest. We also had the Armenian Schaschlik (shishkabob), the rigatoni mafia, and the crepes. Everything was very good and together with the personable service, we highly recommend this place.

Came here unexpectedly because we wanted to eat something quickly. We had a nice evening with our two children. The children had the bratwurst and I had the currywurst. My husband ate a delicious stew. The people were very friendly and when we asked for dessert the mother turned out to be a very good cook. The pancakes were very tasty and the house dessert was a kind of layered puff pastry cake with a kind of pudding in between. This is highly recommended for those with a sweet tooth.

During my recent stay in Germany I had the pleasure of dining at Café Bistro Noy. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately gave me a feeling of comfort. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the wild boar dish I chose. The meat was cooked to perfection - tender and rich in flavor, a real treat for the palate. A freshly squeezed orange juice was served, whose freshness and naturalness impressed me. What was particularly notable was that Café Bistro Noy places great value on handmade, traditional cuisine. You can feel the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into every dish. The quality of the ingredients and the care taken in their preparation were evident in every bite. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The combination of excellent food, warm service and welcoming ambience makes Café Bistro Noy a place I would definitely recommend and would like to return to. Overall, my visit to Café Bistro Noy was an excellent experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for authentic⬤

Without a doubt the best restaurant we ate at during our three (3) weeks in Germany, Luxembourg and Metz, France. We spent five (5) days in Bacharach and ate dinner here on three (3) occasions. The Café Bistro NOY, is a small, yet warm and cozy restaurant with the friendliest owners we met during our time in Germany. Besides the wonderful food we had, the owner, Lilit Sargsyan, is what makes this restaurant stand head & shoulders above the rest. We cannot even begin to express how simply wonderful this woman is, who made us feel like part of the family every visit. From her husband to her sons that also help in the restaurant, everything was first class. A few things to remember, the food is prepared once you order, so if you are in a rush, you should not stop here, which makes it worth the wait. Each night we had something different on the menu and it was all so delicious, but the best meal yet was saved for the third night. Lilit told us we needed to try the “Specialties of the House” and at first, we were a little hesitant, but we were so happy we listened to Lilit. The traditional Armenian dishes of “Shashlik” and “Wild Boar Goulash” were simply to die for. If you can only eat one meal at this fabulous restaurant, then you must try one of these dishes – you will not be disappointed. What makes this restaurant so special more than anything else is the people, especially Lilit. You touched our hearts with your generosity, friendliest and warmth and we will always remember you. And one final thought for Lilit, “do you have reservations?” This is something only Lilit will be able to understand but made us laugh, every visit. Thank you so very much to you and your family.

We ate for several years at the restaurant in this location when it was Cafe Rusticana. Astrid closed it in Oct. 2019. I was concerned that with the Covid mess, the restaurant would remain closed for a long time. I was thrilled when I saw that Cafe Bistro Noy opened. It is run by a very friendly Armenian family. English is spoken. We ate there twice on our week's visit to Bacharach. The fierst time Tykewife and I tried the Shashlik, which was very tasty. The French fries were the ABSOLUTE BEST fries I ever had. The second night we tried the wild boar dishes. I had the very tasty bratwurst while Tykewife had the goulash. We were informed that the hunter that killed the boar also prepared the bratwurst. We told the new owners how much we had enjoyed Astrid on our past visits and were informed that she dropped by occasionally and enjoyed hearing from former customers.

Rindswurst als Currywurst. Die Currysauce war die Beste, die wir je gegessen haben. Und dazu die Puppenhaus-Wohnzimmeratmosphäre verbunden mit gutem Service. Schön, daß es sowas noch im Rheintal gibt.
