The burger was dry, the drinks tasted flat, and the bill was inflated with extra charges for items not listed on the menu. My recommendation: Choose one of the countless, much better burger joints in Essen. Never again!

A classic burger restaurant with truly delicious food! The burgers – both the classic and the smashed varieties – were expertly prepared and tasted fantastic. A particularly nice touch is the option to choose your own bun, and the selection of fresh, homemade sauces – perfect with the incredibly crispy and delicious fries. The wait for drinks and food was a bit long, but given our large group, this was perfectly understandable. The staff remained friendly and attentive, and the food was definitely worth the short wait. Overall, a highly recommended spot for all burger lovers – authentic, delicious, and made with attention to detail.

The food is delicious, and they make great homemade lemonades and iced teas. The lunch menu offers a nice combination at a fair price (burger + side + drink for about €13). The service is also super friendly. They happily accommodated a small extra request for the burger ;-) In the summer, you can sit outside. Unfortunately, the place is usually overcrowded in the evenings, and the kitchen and waiters can barely keep up. Everything seems rather disorganized, and sometimes the waiters become unfriendly due to the stress. Yesterday, we waited about an hour for our food.

I would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. We hadn't, but that wasn't a problem at all. We were especially pleasantly surprised by the waiter – he was really very friendly and attentive. The food was also absolutely delicious! The fries with mushrooms, which we shared, were particularly great. We booked this burger restaurant through Neotaste, and we found the price-performance ratio to be perfectly reasonable. Without Neotaste, however, I would say the burger is a bit small for the regular price. Otherwise, everything was fantastic: the atmosphere was great, the service was excellent – ​​we really have no complaints. We don't live in Essen, we were just passing through, but we were more than impressed.

We were at Burger Heart for the annual burger dinner as part of the Spiel (Game of Thrones) again, and despite the sheer number of people (45, with reservations, of course) all at once, the service team did a fantastic job. The quality was again excellent, and I think the prices are reasonable for what's on offer. Special requests are also catered for. Vegetarian, vegan, and omnivorous palates all found their fill. The shop itself feels cozy, yet modern. You could easily have a conversation at a comfortable volume. The location right next to the Martinstr. subway station makes Burger Heart easily accessible by public transport. I'd happily return!

We always enjoy coming here. The burgers are delicious, even though we think they were bigger a few years ago. I honestly don't like the fact that the menu is only available online since the coronavirus pandemic.

I visited BurgerHart in Essen-Rüttenscheid, and unfortunately, the concept didn't convince me. The prices are quite high, the service average, and above all, the burger simply lacks that certain wow factor that would set it apart from other restaurants. The taste is solid, but nothing memorable. It's also noticeable that the place is usually pretty empty – probably no coincidence. To me, that's a sign that many customers aren't going to be won over in the long run. My wish would be for them to really take another look and try to make the most of the location. Rüttenscheid has many great restaurants – and to compete there, they would have to significantly improve the quality, value, and atmosphere. Currently, the competition is simply better.

Not so good value for money. The burger is nothing special. But it's about €30 for a burger, fries, and a drink. The atmosphere is good. We waited a while for the food, and it was served lukewarm.

To be fair, we usually go there in a large group of about 13 people. However, the food usually takes quite a while for a lunchtime snack. There's always been some special request that goes wrong, but oh well. The food tastes okay, but it's nothing special. The place has a nice, industrial look, but it always seems a bit lonely at lunchtime. We're often the only ones there. Well, it's quite nice, and it's a ritual for us, but there are definitely better options around the corner.

Update from our last visit and also our last visit: We were in the area again and, as always, wanted to eat a good burger. The first order was wrong. A drink we ordered wasn't what we ordered. The waitress tried to convince us the drink was correct, even though the menu said something different. The waitress commented, "We always do it this way." No attempt to bring the ordered drink. We ordered two burgers. The lettuce on the burger had been dead for months. What was between the meat and the bun... Not recommended, both in terms of taste and appearance. The burger at Burger King is better. I have no idea how you go from really good to really bad.

The driver was great, but the food was a flop. I thought that 1 kilo of fries wouldn't be so small, and the burgers would be warmer and not so dry. I hope it doesn't affect everyone like it did me, because I'm still hungry and disappointed.

The service was super friendly and fast. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and a very modern interior. A huge selection of burgers, including vegetarian and vegan options. We enjoyed our meal and would gladly return.

The food was excellent. It came quickly and was freshly made. Unfortunately, it was a bit lukewarm (I like my food very hot), but it still tasted very good. Unfortunately, there were no sauces included (ketchup and mayo cost €0.70 extra). With burgers priced at €15.50 and fries/sweet potato fries costing €5.50/€6.50, the basic sauces should have been included!

We've been here several times and have been completely satisfied every time. The service is always friendly. The burgers are really good, and there are also delicious vegan alternatives. The fries are a big plus, with a wide selection of sauces. My personal highlight, which I wouldn't have expected here, are the cocktails. The Gin Basil Smash was very, very nice. All in all: great food, great drinks, relaxed atmosphere, definitely a recommendation!

Disappointing experience We came to Burgerheart Essen specifically because of a 2-for-1 deal via the NeoTaste app. We made a reservation for 1 p.m. in the app and also booked the deal. However, we were informed by the waiter on site that, according to the boss, this deal would only be valid from 3 p.m. - even though the booking clearly allowed for an earlier time. Unfortunately, our information about the app and the booking was not addressed at all. In order to relax the situation and still eat something, we stayed and ordered anyway. We noticed that there was a lunch menu offer. However, it was then explained to us that the Double Smashburger - in contrast to the Single Smashburger or all other normal burgers - was not part of the lunch deal, although this was neither clearly visible on the menu nor was it explained to us in a way that we could understand. Here, too, the waiter was very unreasonable and repeatedly referred to instructions “from the boss”. We ultimately had to pay €45 for two double smash burgers, a pound of fries and two sauces - a price that was disproportionate to the service offered. It's a shame because we were really looking forward to the visit. This makes you feel unappreciated as a guest. A clearer, more customer-friendly approach would be urgently needed here - especially if you present yourself on platforms like NeoTaste The burger itself was quite tasty, but the burger had nothing to do with a smashed burger. No roasting aromas and the part was barely smashed. Seems to be a personal interpretation of a Smashedburger. Special requests were mixed up. Burger without onions and cucumber was brought with onions and then another burger without onions and with cucumber even though nothing was supposed to be taken down. Overall a bad experience and not recommended at all in terms of price and performance.

We ordered online ( Lieferando because we couldn't change patties at Wolt). The taste of the burgers was 10/10, and the desire to forgo ingredients was also taken into account. What didn't work so well were the extra requests (extra cheese was missing) and the sauce was missing with the fries. Unfortunately we couldn't get a call back because the store was already closed...

If you know anything about burgers, don't come here! The price-performance ratio is absolutely terrible. The burger gets a 2/10. They don't offer any set meals.

We've eaten there several times, the selection of vegan alternatives is very large, the burgers were delicious with and without meat, fries were super good. Very large selection of drinks. Service was quick and friendly, the shop was clean, there wasn't much going on at lunchtime during the week and we were able to eat there spontaneously.

To be honest, I didn't like the BBQ chicken burger. It didn't taste like anything. I wanted a cola. Who said I wanted to drink a large Coke? How about asking the customer first? 5€ for a cola is pretty expensive, I have to say. So I actually won't go there again. Price-performance doesn't fit.

The burger is very dry, the pun is also very dry. The "oh my goat" hamburger is a unique and contraversial test. I didn't like it at all but my friend thought its interesting. The french friese was nice. Only one waiter for this big restaurent at late lunch.

I went there by myself and ordered a New york chili cheese and loaded fries. I had to wait 40-45 min for my food. The burger patty was dry and tasteless. The loaded fries were ok. They were crispy but didn't taste much. Also, when I was gonna pay the bill, the server just told the total amount instead of giving me a check for me to double check. Before paying, I insisted on checking the bill on his tablet (to see that everything was correct). While I checked, he said, "You will get a receipt after." I thought it was standard in every restaurant to give the customer a check to go through before taking payment since mistakes can happen. Conclution: It's definitely not worth the price or waiting time.

We placed an order with 7 people for around €150. The delivery was very punctual. Unfortunately the burgers were quite cold or only lukewarm and therefore not really edible. However, the fries were a disgrace. We ordered 3 pounds of fries between us, but the portions were pretty small. After testing on the scales, the 3 portions together only weighed 1.1kg including the packaging. You can almost assume that there is deliberate deception when placing orders. None of us were full. This is very disappointing as we are used to a different quality and quantity locally. We are also happy to pay a certain price for good food, but when we ordered we were very annoyed afterwards because the price was not justified for this poor quality.

Long waiting times, bad service, mediocre food. There were two of us and we waited 30 minutes until the drink order could be taken. For whatever reason, the waiter couldn't take the food order at the same time as the drinks. We waited another hour for the food, 1.5 hours. The overall service was chaotic and uncoordinated. The food was average. The smashed burger was not smashed and there was only a little chicken on the chicken burger. The drinks were completely watered down because they were filled with 3/4 ice cubes. The visit was more than disappointing. We won't go there again.

Service force was very unfriendly. We asked if our burgers could please be cut. Wasn't done because otherwise they would fall apart (it's my decision) Eat : Our starter was forgotten. They came but the Onion Rings could have been there longer. The burgers were okay. Smash Burger was more like a bulette from McDonalds. The chicken burger just tasted spicy and that was it. You have to order each sauce separately. I really can't emphasize enough how rarely unfriendly the service staff was. There are much better shops in the area. The waiter got really cheeky towards the end.

You are still very nice, but unfortunately the rest remains the same. The supply of drinks was particularly poor in places today. It's a real shame because the ambience, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff are really good.

Vegetarians and vegans: order somewhere else! We ordered food there twice and both times we were served the meaty version instead of the vegetarian version. The first time we were promised a voucher as compensation. We're still waiting for this one. The second time, after calling back, I was told to write an email so that the boss would know. No reaction. Not even receipt of the email was confirmed to me. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star for the service (although the man I spoke to on the phone the second time was very nice). The ambience in the restaurant is good overall. You can actually get vegetarian burgers there too.

My wife was at Burgerheart on Monday with two friends and the babies. Actually, people in Rüttenscheid are now used to being thrown out with strollers. But the extremely nice service person not only cleared a whole corner but also warmed up some drinks and was super nice. Since such behavior on the Rü seems to be the exception rather than the rule, kudos to the lady and the shop, which apparently isn't afraid of women with small children!

I'm always annoyed when I have to pay at least 70 cents for extra expensive sweet potato fries (6.50) so that I can get ketchup or mayo with them. Not to mention the prices of the other “sauces”. Suggestion: Pay extra for the burger sauce or, best of all, pay for each part of the burger individually... Or sell drinks without glass. Some things shouldn't be separated, including fries and ketchup/mayo.

The Chuck Norris burger with extra cheddar cheese & fried egg is highly recommended. If you're not very hungry, the burger without any side dishes is enough. The service is nice and toilets are available. The interior design is beautifully done and creates a pleasant atmosphere. Certainly worth another visit.

Visually beautiful place. Apart from us there was only one couple there. The waitress couldn't find the burger he wanted from the menu on his tablet, but was able to order it in the kitchen. The taste of the burger wasn't that overwhelming, the bun was cold and hard, and the high price was irritating. The toilets are clean, but really dark, so a little more light (in the sink area) would be nice.

In short: not enough for the money. Long waiting times for the waiter. (Vegetarian) burgers in size and size comparable to those from McD and BurgerKing - for a price that is far too high. We will definitely not come back again
