I have never eaten such bad or tough spare ribs. You could hardly remove the bones from the rack with your hand, they were so solid and tough. It's no wonder that the silver skin wasn't even removed from the kitchen before it was cooked. The only plus point: the meat tasted quite nice and smoky.

The waiter didn't want to take my technical order, so when I got there I had to wait a long time for the order. That's better.

We were there again after 2.5 years. I'll get to the reasons later. Very empty when we arrived, we could choose our place. When we placed our order, we said that we hadn't been there for a long time, and the reason we gave was that on the last few visits, i.e. plural, my wife was always served hamburgers that could only be described as lukewarm. Well, order placed, drinks arrive in stages, first for my wife then for me. As I said, the store was empty. Then the food came. Burger and Twister lukewarm only the plate was hot. If you as a guest have pointed this out beforehand, I'll let the kitchen know that there were complaints about cold food. Either you didn't listen or you don't care if the guests are happy. The service used to come by every now and then to ask if everything was OK or if you needed something to drink, nothing. Conclusion: I wouldn't recommend it.

There used to be more tinsel, a well-known face on television once said, but unfortunately it also applies here. The staff has to evaluate their own workplace themselves, as the language of the guests clearly points in a different direction. Admittedly, no restaurateur can be responsible for the decline of German gastronomy due to the panic ordered by Messrs. Spahn and Wieler, but unfortunately, after paying customers were no longer checked in like village mutts at the gate, they failed to bring the infrastructure back up to speed. to convert to guest-actual-on-site operation. The staff was running on the edge, as they now had to serve “live guests” in addition to what felt like thousands upon thousands of delivery orders. Little remained of the splendor of the old days, especially as the service continued to thin out and the kitchen was clearly trying to deliver despite everything. The fact is: I can't blame the kitchen staff, at some point a person is simply at their limit between the dining room and the delivery area, but the quality of the food was still at a good level. But that's exactly where it stopped again. There was no longer any trace of the “old guard” in the service, food was brought and that was all. Reordering drinks required patience and several times of waving and hoping. Despite all of this and the fact that we have enjoyed being with you for a long time, I would have liked to have given you a chance to rethink my image, but I would be committing a criminal offense if I did so, as it is common practice to bring former employees and their relatives with them to be punished by banning people from entering the house.

The store used to be great. There was a completely different atmosphere here, you almost felt like you were on vacation. Unfortunately, the staff is no longer on point and the food is no longer as good as it was before Corona. Unfortunately you really have to wait a long time until you are served. sometimes others get the food before you, even though they arrived long after you. Payment also takes a long time. We went here at least once a month for a milkshake (annual pass in Zoom). The shake used to be lactose-free. Since our children are lactose intolerant, we have often been drinking shakes here. Last year there was only lactose-free milk and the ice cream was out. Now only shakes containing lactose are on the menu, with the note that lactose-free milk is also available. What's the point of this? Only someone who doesn't have a problem with lactose will probably understand the meaning behind it. Parking spaces are available directly in front of the door and are free of charge. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the ambiance is really nice. Maybe you'll introduce lactose-free shakes again at some point, then we'll be happy to come back.

The ambience and presentation are great. A special experience, especially for American fans. The food was good and tasty. We had burgers, fries, sweet potato fries and brownie. It's all ok. The service was friendly but not on point. It wasn't cleared away until we left. Sometimes it felt like I waited a little longer...but everything was ok. It wasn't that crowded, but it was well attended.

Service - catastrophic. After 15 minutes someone came to order. Not a word was understood and it took 20 minutes for our warm milkshakes to arrive. The meal, 3 burgers with fries, was quite cold and tasted rancid like the restaurant smells from the inside. Not recommended and very expensive!! I would prefer to give 0 stars.

Guys, go somewhere else! Even if you have the voucher from Parken. Bad service, all burgers cold. Only one out of three portions of fries was warm. Milkshakes also below average. Really, don't do this to yourself.

Have been here again for years. The store used to be really great. Unfortunately, our visit this time was not at all like it used to be. To name just 2 negative points so that the review won't be too long, I'll go into the burgers in general. Unfortunately, they don't taste the same anymore. The meat patties are of absolute chemical industry quality with many flavor additives. You can see this both visually and from the artificial taste. Furthermore, it is really very unpleasant when the staff loudly shout things to each other in Turkish throughout the outside area and also inside. The fact is we won't come here again. We will switch to other diners in Essen and Dortmund in the future.

Cool concept, great facility. Unfortunately, there are too few staff, the waiter is listless and you can hear internal friction as a customer. The staff seems annoyed and overwhelmed. You wait a long time for your food, even though the shop is quite empty. You are also not asked whether you would like to drink something else and empty glasses are not cleared away. Overall, the service concept is missing. Too bad! The store could do so much more with the right staff.

Great idea, very nice atmosphere. Absolutely overwhelmed staff. Understaffed and unfortunately no entrepreneurial spirit. During a 1.5 hour stay I wasn't even asked if I wanted something more to drink. Unfortunately, a lot needs to happen here in terms of management and staff.

I've been there twice now with a friend and ordered there twice. For me the best American so far. The service is friendly, the food is delicious and it arrives hot when delivered. Always happy to go there. :)

Simply excellent and recommended

I wasn't planning on having dinner at that time, but I passed the restaurant and thought, lets go, just because it had that awesome classic vibe. The music they played was perfect for the restaurant. The waiter didn't understood me correct. Both of us weren't native German speaking. Food was good and the shake was perfect. It didn't take them a long time to prepare. I would definately go again.

After 20 minutes still not served. Then they left.

This used to be our absolute favorite tetaurant. For various reasons we haven't been there for a good two years now and were therefore looking forward to this visit. The atmosphere was nice as usual. The service was very attentive, but several times food and drinks ended up at our table that we had not ordered. It was quite empty when we visited. The waiting time for drinks and food was ok. Unfortunately, the quality of the burgers is subpar. The meat used to be juicy, tasty, well seared. Today it was absolutely inferior and tasteless. Never again! The fries were ok. 2 stars for that. The milkshakes were also ok, but not as good as before. Unfortunately they only had half of the soft drinks in stock that day. That was a final farewell and we now know that we don't have to miss anything anymore. A pity.

The website said Thursday was pizza day, so two for the price of one, the cheaper one wasn't charged, but it was. We paid 40 euros for two pizzas and two cokes. The ambience is stylish, you really feel like you're in the 50s/60s in America, but you won't be coming back, I just think it's too cheeky that you lure customers into the store with offers like these that are then not honored.

This is the last shop... 4 people waited for over 1/2 hour only to get nothing. The service is low level. In others, such staff are thrown out. Not recommended, go to MC instead.

The service is fast and kind. The food was very delicious, we ate a hamburger with twist fries, it had a special flavor, I really liked it. Everything was fresh. Of course, we couldn't miss a good American shake at the end of dinner. I have never drunk anything so delicious in my life. I recommend it to everyone for a weekday/weekend lunch/dinner, or if you're a tourist 😁 Oh, and the layout of the restaurant is very cool, which adds an extra touch of enjoyment. 🤩

Waiting time for warm food 60 minutes with minimal utilization of the location. I had to be asked to pay for drinks 4 times. Approx. 25 minutes It was really good there.

We were hungry for a delicious burger after work. While you were waiting, you could have taken a city tour. The burger was simply wrong, whereas coal has color. Every chip shop tastes better. Apparently 35% off, because of the bad food, the replacement burgers from the kitchen were briefly presented to us. We wanted to take these with us, but after a short conversation between the two cellars, they never arrived. After all, the football is second-class, the burgers are amateur. If I spend the night in the toilet, I can save myself the headache tomorrow. Never again

There wasn't much going on in the restaurant or outside area. Still, the meal took over an hour. Tables were not cleared and the ambience was otherwise below average. Pizza was like that, you got full.

So from the outside it looks great. A little run down on the inside. The service was good. Unfortunately the food was just average. There is a nice corner for children which is great. There is also a large terrace outside, but this was not offered to us as seating. There are also toys outside for the children, unfortunately almost every second part is broken and is not suitable for children to play with.

It was Sunday. Not much going on in the afternoon. We had to wait and wait. Then guests after us immediately came to order. Ordered two burgers and drinks. A burger was delivered incorrectly. My wife then had to wait 5 minutes until the right one was brought. It was definitely the same burger, just slightly changed. We had to ask for cutlery. There was far too little sauce on the burger. I've eaten much better burgers. No question as to whether the food tastes good. The burger is better at home. We won't eat there again. The restaurant is not recommended.

I thought it was okay for a citizen. The atmosphere in the store is really nice. It's not that nice outside. The food was good but only good, unfortunately the American Hammer was missing. The main problem was that the service was simply overloaded. Mostly young men who seemed very unfriendly. If the 0.3l bottle was empty you couldn't order more because no one came. There was no consultation. The card was put down and then the Kelner was gone again. After asking if they had something larger to drink, like 0.3l bottles, he said no. At the table next door someone had a huge glass to drink. I'm very sorry, I would have liked to rate it better

Before I begin, I would like to introduce the following: There wasn't much going on at the time of my visit, so there was a lot of time available for the few visitors. I can't say what it's like when the store is really full. We were here again for the first time in about 10 years and each ordered a burger, fries and dip. Of course, a drink shouldn't be missing. The service was immediate, friendly and accommodating. We didn't have to wait 15 minutes before the food was already there and the chef even came by. The portions are very big so we couldn't finish them. The prices for the food are therefore completely reasonable. We didn't manage to have another shake, but will try one next time. I would never order food like this through a delivery service. The look, charm and character of the diner are worth the visit. We were very full and very satisfied.

5 stars, the food is super delicious. The employees are all very, very nice and the boss is a great man. Everyone is really warm, you immediately feel welcome. And for everyone from Hungary an absolute highlight Làngos TOP, Soproni Sör like from home - everything your heart desires. Fair prices, large portions. We were very satisfied and would like to come back more often. Even though we were there on Wednesday and the Langos stand was closed today, the boss still prepared Lángos for us with love. Many many thanks. We were very pleased.

Were there today on the holiday. Even though the restaurant wasn't full and we were there in the afternoon (most of the guests just had a drink), we had to wait 60 minutes for our food. Burgers and oven bread were okay, fries were totally limp - nothing of the quality was so good that it was worth a second visit!

We were there again yesterday. It was just super tasty again. The food was hot and very tasty. The service was great. Everyone was very friendly, especially Sebastian Reimers (it said on his name tag) who was very accommodating. We'll definitely be back.

The store has deteriorated incredibly. The first time years ago the service and food was much better. Burgers now look like they come from large fast food chains.

If there was a 6th star rating, they would have gotten that too. A restaurant like you would find on the old routes of the USA. Prices are ok.

Super tasty burgers in different sizes (L or XL). Different fries and different dips to choose from. Very good quality burgers. The waiting time when paying was very unfortunate but otherwise recommended.

I have absolutely positive memories of the store from the past. Yesterday I was there again after a long break and it was anything but an early store that seemed rocky. Dirt, broken interior everywhere you look. The divider between the places is fixed with cable ties, the pictures on it are partly torn and anything but pretty, the play area is so dirty as if the things had been bought from the last junk shop and never cleaned. Food is not at the level it could be. Burger patty looks like it was bought ready-made, pulled pork comes lukewarm, Rösti sticks are simple Röstis (not a stick but slices) in a size that doesn't fit into the dip bowls intended for the sticks. Probably won't go there again.

Food was great. That's why the 2 stars. The service was simply catastrophic. Completely overwhelmed. Long waits until you got something to drink or were even asked what you wanted to order. Unfortunately I had to wait an additional hour for my food. I'll probably go somewhere else for delicious burgers. When I looked at the other visitors' tables, I wasn't the only one who felt this way. It's a shame, it used to be a great shop. But for me, quality starts with the service.

That doesn't work at all!!! We have eaten at StarChief several times and have always been quite satisfied. Now, because we had our grandson visiting who wanted to eat nuggets, we used the delivery service via Wolt for the first time. What happened to us borders on negligent bodily harm and we have at least reported it to the police and secured evidence. It remains to be seen whether we will press charges. Our grandson (3 years old) wanted tomato ketchup with the nuggets and this was also ordered and confirmed by the restaurant. Everything verifiable. However, what was delivered was a HOT CHILI SAUCE that would probably have blown even an adult away. My wife had just discovered it, but the first piece of meat, dipped in dip, was already in the little man's boy. What followed, of course, was a real crying fit because of the pain and it was only after about half a liter of milk that the little one calmed down somewhat. He couldn't finish eating because he was so scared and those were probably his last nuggets and his last portion of ketchup for the time being. This is absolutely unacceptable and should not happen in individual cases. What still annoys me afterwards is that there was no reaction or even an apology from StarChief, even though the Wolt employees apologized several times. But THEY didn't do anything wrong. We still reserve the right to file a complaint against StarChief so that something like this never happens again.

We were here at the end of December 2023 and were thrilled. My husband remembers the diner from before and it was my first time here. It was excellent, which is why we suggested to friends that we eat here together because of the good quality of the food... Well, what can I say: frozen patties, completely soggy chili cheese fries, and a floor absolutely filthy with leftover food It wasn't cleaned and the service was anything but outstanding... Conclusion after today: Big disappointment and that we won't be coming back because the trip and the money aren't worth it... It's a shame, such a beautiful and great shop ruined by bad food and bad service... 💔

There were five of us there today. When we arrived, the reserved table had to be cleaned first. The cream on the shake was poor quality spray cream and you couldn't taste any of the Bueno. 60 minutes after ordering, cold food arrived where the dips were forgotten and there weren't enough cutlery let alone napkins on the table. The dips came after another 10 minutes. In the meantime, empty glasses were not cleared away even though the lady walked past the table several times. We waited 30 minutes for the further shakes. Finally, we received an incorrect invoice.

Everything is good except the service on April 14th is horrible We waited 30 minutes for someone to serve us, then when an unfriendly waitress served us we waited another 65 minutes for our food

The ambience is outstanding. Like a real American diner. Service was great on a Saturday. Totally nice service, the food was served within 15 minutes and the food itself was super tasty. Happening every few months for years. Hope it continues like this forever!

We were there on April 7th, 2024. We had to wait an hour for the food to come. The worst thing was that they didn't tell us right away that it would take longer. We didn't think so because it wasn't really full. A table next to us told us that they had already been waiting for half an hour and that they found mold on their burger buns. One of them later became sick.

The curly fries were very good, but you can't go wrong with them. The burger was of a good standard, unfortunately the bun was a bit dry, despite the brioche. You can make the burger at home (or better), but it's not worth paying any money for it. Caesar wrap was 0/10, too bad. Service wasn't really any better either, inattentive and seemed a bit annoyed.

It was clean and well maintained, the food was very good and the service was incredibly good and tried hard. That's exactly how you want it.

Unfortunately, the fries were only lukewarm... the burger was okay and the milkshake just wasn't prepared properly, a shame for the money. But the service was very friendly and quick.

Very great American restaurant. Service very friendly. The atmosphere is great, cool music and you feel like you've been transported to 1960's America. I am always happy there and feel very comfortable there. So all thumbs up and a big recommendation from me.

First I'll rate the ambience. Nice 50s burger joint style. You really can't complain. However, the food wasn't that great. We were there years ago. It was great there. Today, however, it was all frozen goods, no trace of fresh. Burger pattie grilled to death, stone hard and little taste. For chicken sticks, I would have guessed frozen sticks from Lidl. Simply add salt to the salad. But for 85€ for 4 people you might not expect more. I've definitely eaten much better burgers for less money. So I think I won't go there again, it's a shame. Staff was polite. But when it became more crowded, they were easily overwhelmed. As I said, it's a shame. Sorry

Were there on March 2, 2024 with a reservation and sat patiently for 25 minutes and were then greeted with the sentence, "Why are we sitting at the table?", Qir was asked to come to the table. When we kindly answered why, you were also told that the meal would take an hour without a reservation, and then the banger. As I said, we made a reservation and then it came, yes anyway, whether we wanted to wait or whether we would rather eat somewhere else (with a grin) sorry, absolute no go. We always liked going there, but honestly NEVER again. Unfortunately, the store is showing more and more negative things.

Service desert Germany! We had reserved a table for 6 p.m. today, but we admittedly got there a little earlier (almost half an hour) - the table was already free, but we weren't served until well after 6 p.m.... The drinks came quite quickly, the food came Including the starter only after about an hour. I wouldn't have a problem with it if it had been communicated that it was currently taking longer because it was obviously full. Two of the three burgers we ordered were already cold. During a stay of almost 4 hours, there was no one at the table except for serving and clearing up and the service staff unfortunately only seemed moderately motivated - but still friendly. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities also left something to be desired. Overall a very disappointing visit!

Was there several times several years ago and was always at peace, but today unfortunately it was a total failure. After we had to wait about 25 minutes to place our order, the food unfortunately arrived at our table cold. In the entire time it took us to eat, not even one employee came to us to ask if we wanted something more to drink. Even when we had long since finished eating, it was not possible to wave the waitress over to us because we felt like we were being ignored the whole time. After we finally had a waiter with us after another 30 minutes by standing up and waving wildly for several minutes, we were also asked directly whether we wanted to pay in cash or by card. The waiter probably didn't even consider the possibility that we might have wanted to order something else taken into consideration. To be fair, I have to say that after our complaint, the price for my drink and one of my two companions were waived the price for the burger, but the third person was not accommodated. All in all, the shop is actually quite cute visually, but it's probably getting a bit old and probably needs a renovation. Unfortunately we won't be coming back again.

Finally the wonderful Sunday breakfast/brunch is back. The ambience of the place is awesome. A visit just to have a look is worth it. For breakfast/brunch, everything your heart desires is available: rolls, toast, sausage platter, cheese platter, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, corn, chili, pancakes, yoghurt, fresh fruit, orange juice. You can also have scrambled eggs prepared yourself, according to your own taste. And coffee ☕️ is brought by pot, the service is super friendly. We were very satisfied and will definitely come back 😁🤗

We were looking forward to delicious food, but what had just been delivered was not something we could enjoy. Cold and rancid. The shake is not homemade! Has the owner changed? The store used to be really good, but today it's just overpriced and no longer fresh! Cheese sauce ice cold, burgers and fries cold. Sauce on the burger tastes like cocktail sauce. I used the microwave and ended up throwing half of it in the trash. Paid €40! The message to Lieferando is out.

Fries wobbly... XL burger not much bigger than the L burger but still almost 5€ difference. Despite few customers, long waiting times. After pointing out that the fries were rather mushy, there was no reaction, no apology... just nothing. It took them 30 minutes to make shakes... I only give it 3 stars because the shake was really good. But that was it. It was the first and last time we were there. The word of mouth gave us a lot more hope, but in vain.

The ambience is excellent, you feel like you are on vacation in the USA, the music underlined that. The service was also very nice. Now to the food, the side dishes (fries & crisp cuts) were very tasty, the spare ribs were also good. Unfortunately, when you look at the burger you notice that it is a frozen patty. There are now simply too many other “burger joints” that use fresh patties, which is a night and day difference. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you switch to fresh patties. And with the burger, pickles instead of normal cucumber :) Hence the 5 stars out of goodwill, as the ambience made up for a lot
