Burger Nerds in Duisburg

I went there today for a meal deal: an O. SAM burger with fries and Fanta. It's usually pretty good. Unfortunately, today the fries weren't crispy and were oily. When I paid, they asked if everything was okay. My answer, as above, was: unfortunately oily and not crispy. All I got was a "sorry." I only started eating the fries and left the dip. A shame, considering the full price of almost €19.

Ordered food. The food was really tasty, but sending along a non-alcoholic shandy that expired in March is really uncool, especially when you notice it while drinking it. Also, I found several staples in the burger packaging. Not nice at all and very dangerous.

The place is pretty run-down. We went there today for the first time in years, and it wasn't as good as it used to be. I remember the burgers being much better. What a shame.

This little shop instantly won us over with its nerdy atmosphere. The burgers are truly delicious, and the option to choose your patty – regular or smash burger – is a great bonus. It's the perfect place for anyone who wants to enjoy good burgers in a relaxed setting. Highly recommended!

We ordered through Lieferando, and it was a pulled pork burger where you had to specify whether you wanted a regular patty or vegan, etc. I chose the regular party burger, so you'd assume the burger was like the old BBQ 3.0 burger, but without the fried egg. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case; there was no patty, just pulled pork. I called to clarify, and was told it was without a patty. Furthermore, the burgers have gotten smaller.

I don't recommend it... The bun was dry as a bone, and on top of that, my order was simply mixed up. Instead of a burger with meat, I got a burger with "bigos"... I tried it, but I wasn't satisfied, and I honestly don't recommend this place if you want to leave hungry 🤷‍♀️

The hamburgers are large and well-filled, delicious. The meat comes from the nearby region. Here, guests can find hamburgers in various variations. The staff is very friendly.

The food was okay, but absolutely nothing special. The service, on the other hand, was a disaster: My order was first completely forgotten, and then it arrived incomplete. When I asked about it, I was brazenly told that everything had been done correctly—even though it was clear something was missing. That's not how you treat guests. If you just want an average burger, you might get full here, but if you value good service, you'd better go elsewhere. The outdoor area is not particularly well-maintained and uncomfortable.

Great burgers, undercooked fries, but the honey mustard dip is really good. Loud rap music is playing in the place. It's not necessary.

Since the shop opened in 2015, it has been my favorite place in Duisburg, and I can't think of a place where I've ever had a tastier burger. Despite the now very high prices (although reasonable given the cost of the meat), I've always gone there regularly. However, the new menu is a disaster for me. I would have preferred to accept a simple price increase if the burgers had stayed the same. The smaller patty was a disappointment, but when I noticed that the pickle relish, which was one of the highlights of the burgers, was missing, it was over for me. The burger I've loved since I was 9, is gone and no longer special. Bring back the old burgers!

Sorry, but calling at 8:30 on a Sunday evening and being told they're sold out is just not acceptable. You used to be a promising shop, but since becoming a franchisee, it's been an absolute disaster. We've had soggy fries several times that weren't in the fryer long enough, and this is the worst of it, and on the weekend. Then just close down.

We ordered through Uber Eats and were told the food would take a maximum of one hour to arrive. After more than one and a half hours, we called the restaurant and were rudely informed that the food would be prepared shortly and would then, of course, take even longer to be delivered. The app also told us we'd get free fries, but they charged €5 for them on our bill. Truly unbelievably rude and disrespectful service.

Very disappointing – never again! I ordered burgers today and they arrived burnt – inedible! When I called the store to explain the problem, the lady on the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful at all. That's not how you treat customers. Bad food, even worse service.

After the price increase, we probably won't eat there anymore. The value for money is no longer there.

The shop overall unfortunately appears quite dated. Upon entering, it's immediately apparent that much of it is in need of renovation – from the outdoor furniture to the equipment behind the counter. The fries were unfortunately dry and floury on the inside, as if they had been prepared for a while. The burger itself tasted okay, but even there, you can tell that attention to detail is lacking. I was particularly struck by the condition of the fryer and grill – as you can see in the picture, it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in a while. That doesn't make a good impression. The menu at the counter also no longer matches the actual offerings. Some dishes are apparently no longer available, and the prices aren't right, which is confusing – an update is urgently needed here. I would like to highlight the service: The employee was friendly and attentive, which at least improves the overall impression somewhat. Nevertheless, the shop could do much better with a little TLC, a clearer look, and a cleaner appearance. Unfortunately, the only impression that remains is that the snack bar has seen better days.

Highly recommended. Everything is freshly prepared and delicious. The staff is always friendly and in a good mood.

Unfortunately, our visit was anything but satisfactory. The food was only lukewarm, my burger was missing nachos, and the chili cheese sauce was so thick you could almost cut it with a knife. The service was even more disappointing: After our food was brought, no one came to our table – even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. We would have liked to order something to drink or give some feedback, but we were completely ignored. After about 50 minutes, we went inside to pay. Receiving so little attention in an empty restaurant is an absolute no-go for me. It's a real shame – there's definitely room for improvement here, both in terms of the food and the service.

Haven't been there yet but can only recommend it 🫡

We were actually always happy with the food. However, we haven't ordered there for a few months now. Today we felt like it again and picked up the burgers. We quickly lost our appetite. Both burgers already smelled rotten. We tried them anyway. But they were also absolutely inedible. In my opinion it was the meat as we had two different burgers and both smelled the same. My partner packed up the burgers and went there again. Of course there was no money back. That was the last time we would order there. Conclusion: We are 30 euros poorer, I am still hungry and my boyfriend is sick.

Had dinner in the Walsumer branch today on a Saturday at 4 p.m. Unfortunately we had to keep our jacket on inside because it was very cold. Tables were slightly stuck. BURGER was ok but not warm enough. FRIES and dips were great. Service is nice. Overall only 3 stars, sorry.

Fat long hair in the burger!! I ordered a burger there to take away. First I came in and was served by a sick employee who constantly turned up her nose. I ignored that, but when I drove from Walsum to Dinslaken I noticed that it was a long black one When the hair was put on my burger by the other nice employee, I have to say that the store has zero understanding of hygiene and I will never get anything to eat there again. I would also advise against it

Unfortunately, the burgers are no longer what they used to be, the bun was still cold on the bottom and therefore the patty was only lukewarm. It's a shame, that wasn't the first time. I'd rather go to Oberhausen.

Update August 28, 2019: As you can read elsewhere, we had a very good opinion of you, but what happened there today was just embarrassing. The fact that a fly is baked into the burger is bad enough, but it can be explained. The fact that you actually only took Tanja's burger instead of making both burgers from scratch - after all, you want to eat together - is really unprofessional. The fact that you didn't want to charge for Tanja's drink and her burger and then billed for the drink is stupid. It's annoying that we had to get our cutlery ourselves! But the fact that you show the kitchen to be so dirty and greasy and the floor is so greasy that a guest is completely exhausted is absolutely not possible!!!! Really embarrassing! And I'm willing to bet you're not the same owners anymore, it used to be a whole different league!!

I was there twice, the first and last time. You can't say anything against the taste of the burger, it was quite tasty. But given the price I would have expected it to be larger than Big Mac size. And our little one's chicken pieces were very dark and therefore the breading wasn't really tasty, the meat was OK. Well, rustic tables are OK, but screw heads that you can get your clothes caught on, not really. So next time it will be a different provider.

This is what I expect from a classic burger restaurant! And the burgers: classic to individual, from meat to vegetarian or vegan and made from regional ingredients. TOP!

The meaty burger, the vegan burger as well as the side dishes and dips were on point. Only the ambience might need a new coat of paint for the fresh summer look and the service staff at the tables would need two tips to ensure the guests are successful. Absolute recommendation, always happy again.

Anyone who thinks that FiveGuys, McDonald's, PeterP. or Hans im G. serves good burgers, he hasn't tried a burger at BurgerNerds yet. Fresh burger patties, crispy fried fries (no limp convenience sweet potato fries) and delicious beer from the “neighborhood”. All in all... a real treat!

Unfortunately we went to Walsum out of curiosity (very bad idea). Tables were sticky, leftover food from the previous person. Even as we waited for our food, the vacant tables were only cleared away and not wiped down. When you have a fried egg, the egg white is still sticky. The French fries poutine went like this.

Once again we are not really satisfied. If you forget things 4 times with 5 different orders (to be picked up), something is wrong. (2x pomegranate seeds not included in the Vegan Fox, truffle mayo not included, burger not cooked through even though ordered, other patties fried black and dry). When we picked it up, everything was listed and paid for. Checking things yourself on site is probably the motto here. The service is very nice. It's a shame that the quality of the food doesn't do it justice. From now on we will be frying ourselves.

Good evening dear Burger Nerds team, I was just at your restaurant. My order included, among other things, a BBQ burger. That's probably where the problem starts. When I got home, which was less than 4 minutes away, and I wanted to eat my burger, I discovered that it was simply cold. The fries were logically still hot because they were fresh. My guess is that I got the burger from a customer at the restaurant who had it returned because it didn't have his double bacon on it. You couldn't see it because the counter is built that way and you can't see directly behind it. Strangely enough, my order was ready when it went back and there was no patty fresh off the grill at that moment. If my guess is correct, it's a huge no-go and definitely shouldn't happen. For purely hygienic reasons, it's a complete disaster, where the taste aspect of a cold burger almost no longer plays a role. But the thought that strangers have already had this burger in their hands is simply disgusting. The lady was also quite overwhelmed because several burgers seemed to be wrong. The store wasn't full, it was busy, but not full, that shouldn't be a problem. I would be very grateful for an answer and that, if my suspicion is true, a conversation would be sought with the woman, estimated to be 30-40 years old. I'm still giving it a good review because I love and appreciate this store and actually only have good memories with it. Best regards A somewhat angry customer this time.

I have to be honest, it was so expensive I didn't like it that much and Dan ordered a children's burger which we paid €5.90. Apparently children's burger The Petty didn't have 30 grams of meat I don't know what to call something like that Honestly I'm missing the words...

At the Burger Nerds in Walsum we were treated to fresh and extremely tasty dishes. The burgers were deliciously prepared and presented with care, making the meal a real treat. The atmosphere in the store was pleasant and inviting. Unfortunately, however, there were a few shortcomings that marred our overall experience. First we noticed that the urinal was broken, which caused some inconvenience. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the toilets left a lot to be desired, which left a negative impression. Another point that could be improved is the service. There was no insert for the trash can, resulting in a messy environment in the toilet. This didn't exactly contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, the food was excellent, but the cleanliness and service left a lot to be desired.

Meat juicy and seasoned (smashed IS also smashed here), burger buns warm, fries fresh and the staff nice, attentive and in a good mood. Should be the same in every Burger Nerds branch, right? -Funnily enough, they tried to explain to us in the Oberhausen branch (this has now happened on several visits) that the burger buns have to be cold because they are then softer and tastier... Completely clear... None of our friends could explain the difference in quality between the branches. We're just going to the Walsum branch. Thanks to the nice lady at the grill and the nice young gentleman who was very attentive.

Can you eat, but it's really nothing special? Has the store changed ownership?? I was here a few years ago? It was really much better there. Burger bun very sweet, burger patty hardly seasoned and I ordered a smash burger and that had little to do with smash! The guacemole was also very tasteless. The putine was quite good just way too much mayo. The chicken bites and the BBQ sauce were good. All in all, not a highlight, the girls were nice but we probably won't come back. For just under 40 euros you have to be allowed to ask for more. No hate, just an honest opinion from someone who knows something about good cuisine and gastronomy.

We picked up a burger there again on Friday evening after a long time. The taste was okay at first, although the normal fries were still very raw and the sweet potato fries were very soggy. The burger was also ok. After about 4 hours the food began to leave the body again. Not just for one person, but for both. That's why it can be traced back to food. Unfortunately for us, never again.

Highly recommended: friendly service and if the burgers are eaten on site, then it tastes really great. The ambience is similar to that of an American diner.

I can get a better burger for the price everywhere. That would also be my main criticism. There is nothing in the store that justifies the price. My recommendation is simply to go somewhere else. Service nett. Bestellung wurde schnell entgegen genommen. Getränke und Speisen waren zügig am Tisch. Burger Patty und Chicken bites waren leider ungenießbar, da beides verbrannt und trocken war. Pommes waren schön knusprig, leider sehr fettig. Schade, für das Geld was man da lässt . Ambiente ok. Im dunkeln leider schlecht zu beurteilen, da es dort auch dürftig aber ausreichend beleuchtet ist. Zudem auch echt kalt drinnen, wogegen die mobile Heizung mitten im Laden leider nichts tun konnte. Das Personal musste ihre Pause auch im Lokal an einem Tisch machen, da es scheinbar keinen Pausenraum o.ä. in diesem kleinen Lokal gibt (- etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig und stellt im Grunde genommen auch keine richtige Pause dar, da die Pause immer wieder unterbrochen werden musste um Gäste zu bedienen ) Alles in allem, würde ich die Burger Nerds Filiale in Walsum nicht wieder besuchen , und jedem der sich ein schönes Ambiente und gutes Essen von seinem Geld verspricht, die BN Filiale in Wesel empfehlen.

TripAdvisor gaf aan dat het de nummer 1 van fastfood in Duisburg was. Daar is niets aan gelogen. De hamburgers zijn geweldig vers gemaakt met goede producten. De friet was lekker en de geadviseerde huisgemaakte dip ook. De service was vriendelijke en gaf goede uitleg en advies betreffende de hamburgers. De aankleding was goed en aan het concept aangepast. Zeker de 5 sterren waard voor een hamburger restaurant.

Der Service und das Essen sind auch bei dieser Filiale, wie gewohnt, gut. Die Lage und dadurch leider auch das Ambiente sind nicht schön. Dieser Punkt ist der maßgebliche Unterschied zu den bis jetzt bekannten Filialen, dass ich das nächste Mal lieber ein Stück weiter fahren würde, um einen anderen Burger Nerds Standort aufzusuchen. Es war sehr dreckig! Das Essen war fast verkohlt und die Küche eine reine Katastrophe.

Allerbester Burger im Sektor! Dafür, dass Duisburg generell eher uncharmant ist, können die Burger-Nerds nichts. Um so erstaunlicher, dort so hervorragende Qualität vorzufinden! Freue mich auf weitere Besuche!

Das Fleisch war garnicht gewürzt Der Burger an sich Ist i.o aber nix wildes. Die Fries dazu die waren hart nicht lecker und sehr fettig. Hatte eine unangenehme Sättigung nach dem Essen. Und preislich nicht gerade günstig 2x dieses Menü mit Getränke und dipp 39€

sehr leckere Burger, mittlerweile nicht mehr so voll aber teuer geworden. Alle großen Burger kosten über 10€.

Das Brot war etwas kalt ansonsten fand ich es cool dass es so viele Pommes-Saucen Varianten gab. Hab viele probiert fand ich lecker.

Perfekt!!!!!! Hier stimmt das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis auf den Punkt. Die Burger sind ausgefallen zubereitet und schmecken hervorragend. Einen besseren Burger zu bekommen ist sicherlich nicht unmöglich aber in jedem Fall nur sehr schwer möglich.

Entspannter und guter Laden. Ich habe bislang 2x dort gegessen, beim ersten mal war ich nicht so ganz zufrieden, hatte einen Smash Burger, welcher für meinen Geschmack schon recht trocken war, da ich allerdings bislang selten Smash gegessen habe, fehlen mir hier auch Vergleichswerte. Beim zweiten mal dann mit normalem Patty bestellt und sehr zufrieden gewesen. Zudem leckere knusprige Süßkartoffel Pommes und mein Favorit die Lime Mayo - sehr geil. Dazu leckere Eistee's und auch die Filet Bites schmecken gut. Sehr nette Bedienung, man kann wirklich entspannt draußen sitzen, Tischbedienung klappt gut. Es könnte grundsätzlich etwas schneller gehen, aber das nur als kleine Bemerkung am Rande. Bin wirklich zufrieden und komme definitiv noch öfter wieder.

Hackfleisch muss durch sein, ohne es sagen zu müssen!ihr macht da keine Steaks ! Alles andere ist käse. Einmal gut,andere mal geht so.... Variationen sind top aber hab schon öfters negatives erlebt... Standort nahe Kometenplatz ist grenzwärtig aber in der Ecke hat man bissl ruhe

Richtig leckere Burger und vom Preis her auch ok! Den Pulled Pork-Burger kann ich wärmstens empfehlen!😋 Die Servicemitarbeiter sind absolut freundlich und locker. Nur 3 Stern für das Ambiente von mir, da der Außenbereich schöner sein könnte, aber es geht noch. Dafür sind halt genügend Parkplätze direkt dort vorhanden.

Beste Burger aus frischen und regionalen Zutaten

Mit Abstand die besten Burger in der Region. Beilagen auch sehr zu empfehlen.

Burger waren lecker, die Pommes ausgezeichnet! Sehr nette Bedienung! Lokal wirkt aber etwas heruntergekommen. Zwar gibt es draußen schöne Bänke, aber unter den Tischen lagen Zigarettenkippen, auf der Toilette gab es keine Papierhandtücher, die Blumenkästen, die den Blick zum Parkplatz etwas verschönert hätte, waren mit Unkraut gefüllt. Schade! Für das Ambiente finde ich den Preis dann zu hoch.

Burger Nerds hat bislang die besten Veganen Burger, die ich probieren konnte. Nicht nur kann man fast die gesamte Karte durch Ersetzen und Kombinieren als vegane Variante bekommen, sondern werden auch noch zwei super leckere komplett vegane Burger angeboten, die wirklich einzigartige Patties haben. Ganz große klasse, vielen Dank darfür. Jetzt hoffe ich erst recht dass ihr der erste Burger Laden in Dinslaken werdet.
