After the recent reviews, I was cautiously optimistic. But the internal discussions and new hires worked. We received a friendly welcome, and even though everything had been ordered, we were given two more seats. The staff is very attentive, and the food and drinks came quickly, even though the restaurant was busy. My only criticism would be the pricing of non-alcoholic drinks. They average €4.50 for just 0.2 liter drinks. If you don't know that and you're thirsty, you're wasting a lot of money. The food portions are a good size. Paying the bill with a card was no problem. I wish the restaurant many satisfied customers and that the people of Rügen will return. We would love to eat here again next year.

After being so disappointed with the service at PEAK, the Broiler Bar showed us what hospitality means. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, every guest was warmly welcomed and seated. The star of the evening was definitely Mr. Köhne, with his truly friendly North German manner, simply brilliant. Courteous, funny, knows his restaurant and the menu, and is also very interested in the well-being of his guests. The food was incredibly delicious. The broiler was very tender and not dry, the chicken schnitzel was simply perfect, and the ice cream sundae that followed with two spoons was simply a dream. We rolled into the hotel feeling perfectly round and completely satisfied :-)

During a recent trip, we were referred to the Broiler Bar in Sassnitz, which we were intrigued to try. It was an absolute hit! The chicken was perfectly juicy and perfectly seasoned! The selection of different preparations wasn't easy on a hungry stomach! H. Köhne's drink recommendations were also a highlight. It's a shame our stay was too short, but this experience is a reason to return!

Four of us went to the Broilerbar with our friends. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was plentiful, the broiler was tender, the fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the raw vegetable salad was as delicious as it used to be. If you've worked up an appetite, reserve a table and enjoy. It's a bit more expensive, but with the good quality, it's definitely worth treating yourself. We highly recommend the Broilerbar. Many thanks to the kitchen and service team, and please keep up the good work!

Great atmosphere 👍 The food was also excellent, except for one half of the chicken that wasn't cooked 100%, hence a one-star deduction. Unfortunately, the waitress spilled a Coke from the tray and spilled it all over my mother. They apologized but didn't help clean it up. Unfortunately, there was no accommodating attitude either, hence a one-star deduction. A lovely restaurant with a great view.

It was the first time in a long time that we visited the Broilerbar during our vacation. We had fond memories of the Broilerbar. The renovation was very nice. Special requests for our orders were poorly handled. We ordered two children's meals that were supposed to be served on one plate. This didn't work. Unfortunately, one schnitzel was very dark and hard. Upon request, we were served a new one. When we thanked him with "Super," the waiter asked us if we were speaking gas station German. I'm usually very generous, but after this inappropriate remark, there was no tip. We're guests of Schlosshotel Ralswiek and are used to other service providers. It's a shame.

Very attentive service. I had a Mosel wine, which I was really disappointed with, and I told the server about it... Her recommendation was good, and the first wine was on the house... Thank you. After some good experiences in the past, we visited the newly opened Broilerbar. Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant. The renovations apparently weren't completed. At least the ceiling paneling is very attractive. The service was okay. I wouldn't exactly describe the gentleman who served us as a ray of sunshine. We ordered the 1/2 Broiler Classic with fries and coleslaw. The fries were barely seasoned and had the taste and texture of oven-fried fries. The half rooster was more like half a pigeon. There was hardly any seasoning here either, and the skin was flabby. The coleslaw was okay. Overall, very disappointing for a price of over €20.

The Broiler Bar in Sassnitz is unfortunately no longer recommended. As Rügen residents, we often ate there before the renovation and wanted to stop by with friends. We praised the homely cooking and the service highly. However, on our last visit, on the weekend of the Sassnitz Harbor Days (Sunday, July 13, 2025), we were very disappointed and embarrassed. We had to wait a long time before we were noticed and served, even though the restaurant wasn't full. We eventually got a menu, and the price increase was immediately noticeable at first glance. But okay, after all, prices have exploded everywhere. After we were allowed to take our order, some things were forgotten. When we pointed them out, the waitress thought it was already way too much, and when the food finally arrived relatively quickly, we were shocked by the tiny portions. None of the wait staff came to ask if we wanted any more drinks, which would have made up for the deficit on our plates. So again a long wait until the dishes were cleared away and then we even dared to ask for the bill. The waitress's friendly response was a rolling of the eyes and a groan that only the colleague does that. Here too, the colleague came again after a long wait. When he asked if we wanted to pay in cash or by card, I dared to say that we would like to pay by card, in return I got the same rolling of the eyes and the answer that I could have said that straight away because he had to go and get the machine. After this whole desert of service, we decided not to leave a tip. Then politeness came to the fore in all its glory, because the shouting behind the counter erupted when it was reported that we hadn't left a tip. We were punished with dirty looks and loud comments like "what do you expect from such a rabble?" So, the Rügenhotel Sassnitz and the Broiler Bar can expect from this "pack" that we won't be coming back and definitely won't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Unfortunately, it's hard to find good staff these days, but these extreme price increases and the tiny portions absolutely don't justify this poor service. The restaurant industry shouldn't be surprised that tourists feel ripped off. Tip: Instead, grab a nice fish sandwich from the fishing boat.

An absolute insider tip in Sassnitz – culinary, welcoming, a complete success! During our stay in Sassnitz, we stumbled upon the Brolierbar quite by chance – and looking back, we can say with complete conviction: It was a real stroke of luck! The restaurant is located directly in the hotel on the harbor promenade and, even from the outside, the signs make it very inviting – friendly and with a pleasant calm that arouses curiosity. Upon entering, you are immediately greeted by a relaxed, unfussy, and extremely pleasant atmosphere. The dining room is tastefully decorated (like a Brolierbar), bright, and well-organized. The tables by the window are particularly popular – with a beautiful view outside. Therefore, if you want to secure a window seat, we strongly recommend reserving in advance – the Brolierbar is particularly busy, especially during peak times, and the popular seats are quickly snapped up. What immediately struck us was the delicious aroma wafting towards you and the broiler chicken behind a pane of glass: freshly grilled broiler chicken – wonderfully spicy and crispy. The menu deliberately focuses on chicken specialties, with palpable passion and quality. The broiler was cooked to perfection: wonderfully crispy on the outside, buttery tender on the inside, juicy, and with a finely balanced blend of seasonings. The side dishes were also fresh, generously portioned, and lovingly presented – honest, down-to-earth, and truly delicious. Although we didn't try any vegetarian dishes ourselves, we could see that there are also meatless options on the menu – which is a huge plus, especially for groups or families with different eating habits. A very special thank you goes to Mr. Köhne, who was the heart of this visit for us. We have rarely experienced such a warm, attentive, and at the same time pleasantly authentic host. With North German charm, genuine friendliness, and a keen sense for his guests, he ensures that you are not only well served, but feel completely welcome. His manner is direct, but always with a twinkle in his eye – he brings humor and lightness to his service without ever being intrusive. He takes his time, naturally accommodates requests, and you can tell in every action that he brings genuine joy and passion to his work. Mr. Köhne embodies hospitality – in a completely natural, warm, and respectful way. It is precisely this approach that makes the difference between a good and an unforgettable restaurant visit. Our conclusion: The Brolierbar is far more than just a restaurant – it is a place to feel good, enjoy, and return. We went there for dinner after our visit to the harbor. We were actually happy that it was open again. I had chicken breast au four for €22, the portion of chicken breast was more than just a modest one, and a homemade lemonade for €4.50 in a small glass. I was very disappointed. It tasted good. My husband had half a broiler, which unfortunately wasn't fully cooked on the bone. But the portion was good with the fries and salad. The service, okay, there are still a lot of teething issues. We had to wait a long time to pay. It wasn't very busy. Our verdict: it was a worthwhile experience. We won't be going back any time soon. We live on the island and used to love going there. Maybe in a year's time, if anything changes. What a shame!!

The staff didn't even have a smile on their faces; they seemed like they were about to turn on each other at any moment. It wasn't a pleasant experience. In a broiler bar, I expect the staff to be relaxed and polite. As for the ambiance, it looks like they're trying to embrace the season but the remodel isn't finished yet. The restaurant's ceiling and skirting boards are missing. All in all, I won't come here again until the staff are relaxed and friendly with the customers and with each other, and when the remodel is complete.

The broiler bar has finally reopened. After a long renovation, it's finally time again. We were very happy about it; despite the long journey, we really enjoyed being there. Unfortunately, we were so disappointed. We ordered chicken livers as an appetizer and asked for them to be fried until crispy, and for the main course, we wanted half a broiler and a large salad with chicken strips. The liver looked like it had been steamed, with no roasted flavors (dark spots) visible. When we cut the liver, the juices spurted out heavily. I don't expect that when it's supposed to be crispy. For the main course, a different dressing was already on my salad than requested, and the chicken strips were very salty. And my husband received a wobbly broiler. We gave it to the kitchen, saying we were happy to wait. After what felt like 5 minutes, it came back. The waiter served it with a handheld napkin because the plate was so hot. Unfortunately, it wasn't cooked through. We took everything home and prepared it to our liking. The price was €60 for two people, and unfortunately, it wasn't worth it.

The food can be recommended with a clear conscience, there were 6 of us and everyone enjoyed it. The spoons were only forgotten with the soups. Otherwise, the ambience takes some getting used to - not only because of the current renovations throughout the hotel, but also in the guest room it is quite nostalgic. Unfortunately, they have reduced the size of the dining room quite a bit at the moment and since we had 2 larger dogs with us, it was rather suboptimal to seat us directly in the middle of the restaurant despite having a reservation... I rate the service a little lower due to some language barriers when serving. All in all, you can still say that if you want to eat broiler, liver or other home cooking again, it is recommended

Yesterday was probably the last visit to this facility. In the past, we enjoyed visiting this restaurant, which has a nostalgic atmosphere, and served our youth's broiler offerings. But if you have to sit in a construction site where cables hang from the ceiling and the window, which is the only one that lets in light from outside, is completely filthy and I still have to pay 7.20 euros for half a liter of Köstritzer Schwarzbier in such a place Then I no longer like the somewhat dry bird at all. When my wife had to use the toilet, she found no soap or paper towels. All in all, not recommended.

The restaurant looks like a canteen. The staff is unfriendly. I had a chicken schnitzel, unfortunately made from molded meat. It was very cold in the restaurant because a door to the terrace was open. This was closed upon request. But after 2 minutes it opened again. So I had to leave my jacket on to eat. The head cellar is very unfriendly to his staff and fake friendly to the guests. You don't feel welcome. Unfortunately, all in all not recommended.

As guests of the hotel, we made our reservation at reception a few hours in advance, which was confirmed to us. When we got there in time for dinner, our table was no longer available. The employee then referred us to other places in an extremely unfriendly manner. When we didn't get a card after about 15 minutes of waiting, where several waiters walked past us, we left. Very unfortunate and not good service.

After we didn't get a place yesterday, there was a new attempt today. The restaurant is not very inviting from the outside and the atmosphere inside is somehow "nostalgic". However, we were thrilled with the food. Of course we ate broiler. It was exactly as it should be, crispy skin and deliciously seasoned. When we were young there was a broiler bar in every town and so we could reminisce. We thought it was great and will definitely come back on our next vacation. Well, the hotel and the adjacent restaurant have already seen their best days. If you're into nostalgia, this is the place for you. The food, gold broiler with fries and coleslaw and chicken schnitzel with croquettes and vegetables, wasn't great. Warm and fresh, but not very spicy. The staff tries very hard, but nothing more. There is probably an employee who is wearing the hat there, you would only like to see him from behind... All in all, unfortunately only three stars. Dear management, perhaps you can train your service employees, that would at least be a start and an opportunity for your staff. Self-reflection would be appropriate. Wir waren bereits mehrfach in dem Restaurant. Der Service ist freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen kommt zeitnah und ist frisch, es ist absolut Klasse. Wenn wir auf Rügen sind, ist hier ein Abstecher ein absolutes muss. Die Preise sind für diese Qualität absolut okay.

Wir mussten eine Weile suchen bis wir die Broiler Bar gefunden haben..sind 4x mit dem Auto dran vorbei gefahren. Liegt etwas versteckt, hinter dem Hotel. Bedienung war ganz toll,zuvorkommend und flott. Einziger Kritikpunkt war der Broiler. Die Haut war eher hell, weich, fettig, nicht knusprig. Kam mir vor wie in der Pfanne gebraten. Und nicht gewürzt. Mußte sicherlich schnell gehen. Sehr schade, denn wir hatten uns sehr auf den leckeren Broiler gefreut. Es waren auch teilweise noch ganz zarte Federn dran. Leider eine große Enttäuschung. Ich würde lieber länger auf mein Essen warten und dafür ein leckeres Hühnchen auf dem Teller zu haben. Wir werden es auf alle Fälle irgendwann nochmal testen. Dann aber auch ein kross am Spieß gebratenes Hühnchen verlangen. Der Broiler konnte jedenfalls nicht mit dem DDR Broiler mithalten.

Essen soweit lecker, man bekommt 0,2 l Getränke und es werden 0,3 l abgerechnet, wenn man böse wäre ,würde man auf Betrug tippen ,auf Nachfragen ist die Kollegin Schuld weil sie die falschen Gläser befüllt, sowas darf nicht passieren

Wir waren die Woche dort essen gewesen. Wir geben mehr als 5 Sterne. Der Service sehr freundlich. Das Essen mega lecker. Beim nächsten Urlaub wird da wieder gegessen. Man wird wirklich sehr satt und es schmeckt total lecker. Ich empfehle jeden der auf Rügen Urlaub macht ein Besuch in der Broiler Bar. Man macht nix falsch.

Essen war gut, hat geschmeckt und war auch reichlich. Das Personal war etwas in Eile, daher wohl leicht reserviert. Lag eventuell auch daran, das der Feierabend um 21Uhr bereits dicht dran war. Tisch würde reserviert zu 19:30 Uhr und es dauerte auch etwas bis die Speisen serviert waren. Vollkommen normal. Das dann der Tisch bis kurz vor Schluss ebenfalls belegt sein wird, ist dann aber auch normal 🤷🏼‍♂️ Wir waren kaum draußen, da standen die Kellner ebenfalls bereits vor der Türe und rauchten 👏

Das Essen hat ein Imbiss Niveau. Die Hühnchen war trocken und der Geschmack war nicht so wie in den Bewertungen angegeben. Da bekommt man an jedem Hänschen stand bessere Qualität. Nicht wirklich zu empfehlen.

Wir waren über Silvester auf Rügen. Beim Spaziergang am 30.12.2022 haben wir die Broiler Bar entdeckt. Oh lecker Hühnchen dachten wir uns. Also ab an die Tür und schauen wann se den offen haben. Abends...... wie schön.. Ab ins Hotel Duschen umziehen ,lecker essen gehen. Zurück zur Broiler Bar und....... zu. Stehen ne Menge Stühle im Eingang übereinander gestapelt. Steht aber nix von geschlossen an der Tür. Leider wieder hungrig zurück ins Hotel. Schade,schade,schade..... so wird das nix......

Uns hat der Appetit auf Hühnchen in die 'Broiler Bar' geführt und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Ein sehr nostalgisches Restaurant verzauberte uns auf den ersten Blick. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und ausreichend. Top Preis- Leistungsverhältnis! Die Bedienung super aufmerksam und auch Extrawünsche wurden zur vollsten Zufriedenheit ausgeführt.

Nachdem wir am Sonntag vergeblich versucht haben eine Reservierung für den 23.9. aufzugeben sind wir dann am Mittwoch nach Sassnitz gefahren um in die Broelerbar zum Essen einzukehren. Dort wurden wir abgewiesen da wir nicht reserviert hatten. Daraufhin haben wir den Kellner erklärt das wir den ganzen Sonntag versucht haben anzurufen wurde uns deutlich gemacht das er arbeiten muss und wir doch das Haus verlassen möchten. Für mich ist das kein Zustand und auch nicht weiter zu empfehlen.

Als erstes: komme aus Hannover, bin Wessi, und ich mochte schon zu DDR-Zeiten den guten alten Goldbroiler lieber, als die fetttriefenden Gerippe aus der rollenden Brathähnchen-Grillbude. Ich war seit fast 10 Jahren Dauer-Gast in der Broiler-Bar im Rügen-Hotel zu Sassnitz, und bisher immer sehr gut und sehr lecker damit gefahren. Letztes Jahr fiel mir allerdings schon auf, dass es irgendwelche Sparmaßnahmen gab, z. B. daran, dass nun auch am Mittwoch dicht war, und es irgendwie nicht mehr so gemütlich wirkte wie bisher, z. B. auf der Außenterrasse. Am Personal lag es nicht, und es ging immer alles sehr flott - ich war dort meistens erst nach 19 Uhr dort in der Hochsaison im Juli. Heute wurde ich mit einem Hinweis auf der Außenspeisekarte begrüßt, dass man jetzt ab 16 Uhr täglich geöffnet hat, und man den Eingang auf der anderen Seite des Rügen-Hotels doch betreten möge. Gesagt getan:dort fand sich nur der Hinweis "Neptun Restaurant (Broiler-Bar)" - hmmm, komisch... Beim Betreten des Neptun fiel mir gleich dessen Größe auf, und des steiler Charme, sowie dass dort fast alle Tische belegt waren - und das schwedische Stimmengewirr flog mir gleich dabei ins Ohr... 😉 (ich mag die Schweden eigentlich sehr gern, aber ihre Sprache ist nicht für meine Ohren zum Verstehen geeignet) . Ich mich also dann sofort zur Kasse begeben und ein weibl. Bedienung angesprochen, dass ich gerne in die Broiler-Bar wolle. Sie entgegnete mir, dass die NOCH geschlossen habe (Anmerkung: kurz vor 19 Uhr!), sie aber Broiler-Gerichte auf der Karte hätten. 2. Anmerkung, die Broiler-Bar hatte den ganzen Abend geschlossen! Bis ich bestellen konnte, vergingen ca. 15-20 Minuten - das vorhandene Personal war sichtbar ausgelastet mit den anderen Gästen - dann kam die Karte - sofort Getränk bestellt - das kam 5 Min. später, und dann gleich den Broiler bestellt - dann passierte erstmal 40 Minuten nichts, bis der heißgeliebte Broiler serviert wurde. Daran gab es für mich nichts auszusetzen: knusprige Haut, nicht zu trocken und nicht zu fettig, wie sie meistens aus den rollenden Grillbuden kommen, und auch nicht zu dürre - selbst die Pommes war super ok und super knackig, so wie sie sein müssen. Auch das Personal war bemüht und super freundlich, war allerdings auch sehr gut ausgelastet, wie die Küche. Auf meinen Abschluss-Cappuccino musste ich fast 25 Min. warten - das ist eindeutig zu langsam!!! In die bisherige Broiler-Bar waren auch Familien mit Kindern gut aufgehoben, und gern gesehen - ins Neptun passen die jetzt nicht mehr so ganz, und würden, sofern sie etwas agiler und lauter sind, das senore Publikum wohl stören... Fazit: Der Broiler war lecker und in gewohnter Qualität - der Rest, die Schnelligkeit und der neue Charme des Großraum Büros war unterirdisch! Beides gehört zu einem tollen Abend zusammen, und somit war dieser Abend für mich einfach Sch....! Entweder machen sie die alte Broiler-Bar wieder auf, oder lassen dieses Konzept im Neptun sein - so geht es nicht, und auch die neuen Preise sind nicht mehr familiengerecht - 3,30 € Preiserhöhung sind fast 30%. Also keine Empfehlung mehr von mir!

Der Broiler, den wir gegessen haben war nichts. Er war trocken und nicht gut angerichtet, Es saßen auch nur wenige Gäste hier und das war keine Ausnahme. Ich werde, wenn ich wieder einmal in Sassnitz bin, nicht mehr hier essen. Ich hatte mich auf den Broiler gefreut.

Diese Gaststätte gehört zum Rügenhotel. Im Sommer könnte man draussen sitzen und hätte einen schönen Blick auf's Wasser. Die Terasse ist leider total ungepflegt und lädt nicht zum Verweilen ein. Wir wollten nachmittags Kaffee und Kuchen bestellen. Kaffee ja, den Kuchen sollte man sich selbst aus dem Panorama Cafe im 9.Stock besorgen. Unglaublich, Service Wüste total. Wir sind gegangen und werden auch nicht wiederkommen.

Schon bei unserem letzten Besuch vor ca. 2 Jahren waren wir nicht so ganz zufrieden,wollten der broiler bar aber trotzdem nochmal eine Chance geben. Getränke und essen wurden flott serviert. Mit uns sassen auch nur 2 Tische im Restaurant . Leider wurden wir diesmal weitaus mehr enttäuscht. Wir hatten den halben broiler nach Muttern Art. Der broiler geschmacklos und schmeckte sehr aufgewärmt. Kartoffeln haben leider auch schon etwas länger gelegen und der Rotkohl hätte auch mehr würze vertragen können. Die Bedienung war jedoch sehr freundlich.

Gerade vom Abendessen in der Restaurant "Broiler Bar" zurück - und ich kann viele Kommentare von anderen bestätigen: Saubere und renovierte Räumlichkeiten, die aber selbst nach der Mühe weiterhin langweilig und ungemütlich sind; Überschaubare Menü, mit alle die "Klassiker" die ich in einen Broiler-Restaurant erwarten. Passt so! Laut Kommentare scheint so 50/50 zu sein, ob man hier geiles Essen oder ein trockenes Huhn bekommt. Ich gehörte leider zu den letzten - nicht furchtbar, aber auch nicht wirklich gut. Ärgerlich. Ich kann dafür NICHT die schlechte Bewertung der Service bestätigen. Hier war (um 17:45) voll, aber Service war freundlich, akkurat und effizient - und der Inhaber sollte sich freuen.

Wollten mal die BREOLER BAR Ausprobieren.Totaler Reinfall.Terrasse ungeflegt SERVICE GLEICH NULL.4 verschiedene Servickräfte und keiner hat es geschafft uns richtig zu bedienen.Tische wurden nicht abgeräumt,Bestellungen falsch.Und der Höhepunkt die Möwen haben sich auf den Tischen die Reste schmecken lassen und die Knochen umher geschmissen.Habe ich noch nie erlebt sowas.

Waren Anfang Juli 2017 zum Essen da, leider. Bei Broiler denke ich an eine knusprig krachende Hühnchenhaut, mit saftigem Fleisch. Nach kurzer Wartezeit wurde der "Broiler" gebracht, Haut war total schlabberig, Erbsen waren mit einer klebrigen TetraPak Plömpe bedeckt (meine Frau meinte Hollandaise geschmeckt zu haben), Pommes gingen. Zum Interieur ist zu sagen, DDR Style so wie die Platte in dem dieses Etablissement (Rügen Hotel) untergebracht ist. Wer mit Broiler wirbt, sollte schon in der Lage sein dieses einfache aber schmackhafte Gericht vernünftigt zu zu bereiten. Die Bewertungen sind mir ein Rätsel, oder es handelt sich um Broilertrolle. Fazit nie mehr!

Unfortunately, this restaurant, in which we had only good experiences during previous Sassnitz stays, is no longer available in its old form. Nothing against Indian cuisine, but in my opinion completely missed it.
