I've never had oysters served so carelessly. Without ice and in a soup bowl. Carpaccio was a 5/10 and very small. Unfortunately I think the quality has decreased.

My experience was ok. Ambiance and service good. We (4 people) had very different experiences when it came to eating. My pasta was good and the tuna tartare was great. My friends' dishes were rather one-dimensional and not seasoned enough. Overall it was still tasty but not worth the price.

The service is catastrophic, the quality is no longer what it used to be, very disappointing

The evening started very promisingly: the reception was friendly and the starters impressed us both in terms of taste and presentation. Unfortunately, the service deteriorated significantly as the process progressed. The main course was of good quality, but unfortunately it was served cold. What was even more disappointing was that after receiving the dessert menu, we waited for almost 30 minutes for a server who never showed up. Ultimately we skipped dessert and asked for the bill instead. Our conclusion: For the high prices and the reputation of the hotel, we would have expected better service and a higher level of consistency in quality. Unfortunately, the evening disappointed us and we will not visit Brenner again in the future.

Very good tasting food. Unfortunately, the separate grill and pasta stations meant that the fish and meat were perfect, but the pasta was cold. Was redone without discussion, but with a time delay. Otherwise everything was fine, I'll be back.

Uncomfortable, waiter kept running into our chair. Food rather bland, i.e. tasteless. Price/performance is not right here at all. The atmosphere is also uncomfortable.

The first time that we came here was for breakfast. First of all the staff was very friendly. We ordered avocado toast and omelette with ham and cheese as well as orange juice and mimosa. This was one of the best orange juices that we have ever had. The mimosa was also delicious with a perfect ratio of alcohol and freshly squeezed juice. Omelette was very well cooked not runny at all which made it very delicious. We enjoyed that time so much that couple of days later we decided to come back for lunch. We were not disappointed at all. To begin with the place was full and we received our orders super fast. This time we chose salad with beef and thin sliced beef filet paired with arugula salad. What stood out in both of our dishes was great parmigian cheese making both of our dishes incredibly flavourful. Big plus for a MARVELLOUS chimichuri sauce that was amazing. Very good Riesling wine that greatly complemented the salad and beef.

We were able to enjoy a festive Christmas Day Brunch here... so grateful to find such a gem open on the Holiday! Our server was wonderful, and the menu was expansive, including delicious fresh OJ/Mimosas, and fresh baked goods. We enjoyed our meal very much!

The reason for our visit was the family lunch on Boxing Day. We chose Brenner because we wanted a chic, large store. We generally appreciate the ambience and energy of Brenner, even if the “see and be seen” society isn’t necessarily our thing. Since we were already familiar with the burner, we had no expectations of top quality - but this time we were particularly disappointed. The waiter seemed remote controlled and had difficulty taking our order correctly. Overall, we found his service to be apathetic and disinterested. The real low point, however, was the food. The dishes were served on cold plates that were sticky and dirty on the bottom. My vegetarian dish – mushrooms au gratin – was a tough, cold block. Another meat dish also came cold and tough, as did the meat on the beef salad. The rosemary potatoes were greasy, hard and also cold. Everything seemed carelessly arranged, as if slapped onto the plate. The waiter acknowledged our complaint without emotion. The food was apparently warmed up in the microwave and brought back to the table without comment. A frustrating sight. The question “Is this right now?” sounded as if we had made an unreasonable special request. All in all, it was an extremely carelessly prepared and bad experience, which unfortunately spoiled our Christmas dinner. We would like to mention that one of the employees invited us to the desserts at the end. However, we would probably have needed a Flex to cut up the fruit and nougat tarts. And the espressos? Well, they were...expected. Overall a very disappointing experience, especially considering the high prices.

Friendly service, huge restaurant but still very efficient and well coordinated. Seats are sometimes a bit close, so if you sit on the walking side people frequently might slightly brush you while walking by. Really nicely fresh ingredients, both meat and tuna, well cooked medium rare as requested. The food itself was surprisingly bland and close to no seasoning. That would really need some improvement!

I had the distinct misfortune of dining at Brenner, an establishment that boasts an air of sophistication yet utterly fails to deliver on even the most basic tenets of hospitality and quality. To begin, the service was beyond appalling. The waiter exhibited an unmistakable air of condescension and, dare I say, a disturbing undertone of racism. To compound matters, he managed to confuse our bill with that of the neighboring table—a glaring error that went unacknowledged and unapologized for. Such behavior is not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful. The culinary offerings were equally dismal. The pasta was of such dreadful quality that one could reasonably argue a store-bought, microwave alternative would have been an upgrade. As for the oysters, they lacked the freshness one expects from even the most modest of establishments, let alone one that positions itself as refined. Brenner is a cautionary tale of how style without substance leads to a deeply unsatisfactory experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values good food, respectful service, or basic human decency.

Nice good Italian cuisine, not necessarily German

From coffee to desserts, from steaks to drinks, this place is proper good.. Highly recommended to people who would like to have good food while they can run a conversation without the disruption of any loud music or crowd noise..

We called spontaneously at 5:00 p.m. and thanks to the nice Sophie on the phone, we immediately received a reservation for three people. The reception was friendly and we were nicely escorted to our table. The overall service was average - nothing outstanding, but nothing that stood out negatively either. We found the starters (beef tartare and avocado with hummus) okay, but the main courses were unfortunately a disappointment. My wife had the Surf and Turf: the meat was OK, but the taste of everything, including the side dishes, was very disappointing - completely unseasoned and without any flavors. My son had the salmon fillet with rosemary potatoes, which was also completely flat in taste. I had the beef fillet slices with arugula and parmesan. The plate was ice cold, which also caused the food to get cold quickly. The taste here also fell far short of expectations and I had to add an unusual amount of seasoning. In the end, the service didn't ask us for desserts or coffee, which should be a given for a restaurant in this price category. At just under €200 for two adults and a child, the price-performance ratio was in no way satisfactory. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the burner.

Unfortunately, our visit to Brenner was anything but impressive. For a restaurant in this price range that enjoys a certain reputation, the experience was disappointing - both in terms of service and overall atmosphere. There was a lack of orientation assistance at the reception as it was our first time there. Our waiter lacked any attention and professionalism: if another, much more competent colleague hadn't intervened, our fish would have been served without any side dishes. Even basic questions - such as whether the salad should be served beforehand or with the main course - were simply not asked. The placement of our table was also unfortunate. Instead of a pleasant atmosphere, we sat at the edge of the dining room and had a direct view of the hectic organizational area of ​​the service. This disturbed the ambience considerably. In summary, for a meal that costs around 300 euros, we would have expected a more thoughtful, attentive and, above all, more hospitable experience. There are numerous alternatives in this price category that have much more to offer both in terms of cuisine and service. The burner did not live up to our expectations.

Too loud, too hectic, too expensive Food average

We came from Cyprus and would like to visit a nice restaurant, so we decided on Brenner and booked a table. Since we were traveling for a long time with children, we arrived later, but called and let them know. But there were no free tables and we waited another hour. And then they gave us a very terrible dish. You can see the photo. It's like in the main station. All staff are dissatisfied and do not provide any service. So you want to be thrilled and well looked after with a warm welcome to Cyprus.

We were looking forward to a nice meal on Christmas Eve, but things turned out differently. We were welcomed very nicely and escorted to the table. Our waiter took over. After we had an aperitif we turned to the culinary delicacies. Oysters were good. Then the tartare we ordered found its way to the table. I don't know what happened to the spices and taste on the way from the kitchen to us. It was just meat, shallots and capers. It couldn't be more tasteful. Too bad. After a short break, my husband got his lukewarm sole, which tasted good. My entrecote seemed to be grilled very well, but again, points were deducted because it was lukewarm. If you spoke to a waiter other than your own, they would roll their eyes and seem annoyed. I drank Pilsner throughout the evening. One of them was probably a cyclist by accident. I complained about this. Got it back a while later, just poured it into another glass with a shot of beer on it. According to the motto, he won't notice it anyway. When asked later, he admitted this. Conclusion. Excessive prices for poorly seasoned and lukewarm food. What was noticeable when billing was that a tip of 8% was added straight away without being asked. In my opinion, this is still a voluntary service that I am happy to give if the performance and friendliness are right. It was definitely our last time in this restaurant.

Went there for dinner with my family on Christmas Eve. The reserved table wasn't free at first ("I can't do anything, you'll have to wait a bit"). 5 parties waited with us. The food was tasty (expensive as expected), but the service remained poor, completely contrary to the pseudo-elitist behavior. Examples? Gladly: ordered 2 salads and one spinach as an additional side dish, received 2 salads and 2 spinach and 3 salads and 2 spinach on the bill. Cleared away during the meal, additional cutlery was placed next to it for the next course without comment. At the end the highlight: without any announcement when making the reservation, in the confirmation email or when ordering: “Today you will pay an additional 8% as a tip for Christmas”!! Thank you! Never! Again!

Beautiful restaurant with wide variety of dishes. Very loud. Carpaccio and pasta with fungi were excellent. My family enjoyed their meat dishes. Could offer more vegan friendly options. Including bread and pasta dishes. Apple crumble pie was a bit disappointing.

A great Christmas eve dinner The steak was excellent

Would-be chic crowd, mostly older, gaping gentlemen, or people who want to be seen and are happy to pay these overpriced prices for average catering and poor service.

I visited this restaurant with high expectations, especially since it is a long-standing American Express partner offering a complimentary drink for each guest. Upon arrival, the waiter confirmed twice that this offer was available. However, when I chose a drink from the options he listed, it was later added to the bill. When questioned, the waiter claimed there was a misunderstanding but did not offer to remove it. Only after speaking with the manager was the charge of only one drink removed. The service overall was subpar: the waiter struggled with English, making communication stressful, and seemed more focused on upselling drinks than providing a pleasant experience. As for the food, I ordered a chicken dish that sounded promising on the menu but turned out to be an overpriced, plain grilled chicken breast—undercooked and unsafe to eat. I only realized it was raw inside toward the end of the meal due to the poor lighting. For €28, serving such a dish is unacceptable, especially without any sides. Despite the manager’s eventual assistance, the overall experience was disappointing, from the poor service to the low-quality food. For a restaurant endorsed by Amex, I expected much better.

It's huge and very loud. The food tasted good, but unfortunately the main courses were cold. My entrecote was not medium but medium rare and cold. Conclusion: it's not worth going there. I was invited there, otherwise I wouldn't have gone there at all.

Something extraordinarily beautiful and ambient

Very classy restaurant in Munich. The meat selection is first class and delicious. The staff is well trained and attentive. In my opinion, for the prices, the table time is sometimes limited so that you can easily overhear the conversations at the next table and you can't have a quiet conversation yourself. I found it a bit of a shame that my mom celebrated her 60th birthday there and that was specifically mentioned in the reservation. Basically, no restaurant is obliged to do anything when it's someone's birthday, but they would still have been happy about a little token - but unfortunately nothing came of it... given how much money they spent, it was a bit disappointing.

I started coming to this Resturant years ago when we first got married . I’m talking over 10 years now . This Resturant literally was our favorite and our children’s too . Up until last year the food was great and so was the service . We usually come around Christmas time when we are visiting family in Munich but this time , it was terrible . We had dinner there yesterday : still great buzzing atmosphere but my god the service was non existent but I believe it’s because the poor waiters look and are totally overworked . But the worst part was how the food was terrible and not as good as we recall . Their starters used to be so good but yesterday , really terrible . It’s a shame . Definitely will not be going back unfortunately

Pretty cool restaurant with an interesting menu, the focus of which is definitely not on German, Bavarian cuisine. It was very tasty, the service was great. The only major disadvantage is the volume (due to the size).

We went for my 50th birthday dinner. The food was amazing, the service exceptional and very attentive. We were given great suggestions on wine and our food dishes. Atmosphere was great.

Good to meet with friends and date

Today my wife and I were in this wonderful restaurant (I realized that I had never been to a restaurant before). This is the best restaurant I've ever had in my entire life. We ordered 4 dishes, two desserts and drinks and it cost 150 €. It's definitely worth it. I have never been to restaurants of this level, but now I know that it is better to go to this restaurant once than to another three times. Every dish is art. We booked a table online without prepayment. We were met and placed on the level. The waiter came over immediately and offered the menu. A wonderful evening, my wife is happy, and I am kissed. ) I recommend it 100%.

A typical hot spot for Munich residents who like to be seen. Especially in the front area. At first, I thought “more appearance than reality”. Far from it! The restaurant is convincing across the board. Super friendly service, great wines and fine food. The risotto with osso buco is delicious. I've never had such a good experience in a restaurant. You have to like the tables, some of which are very close together, and the loud music. Overall, it's quite atmospheric. The friendly service in particular contributes to the guest's feeling of well-being.

It's a huge place with bad acoustics, very loud. The staff seems to be under a lot of stress. If you want to spend a cozy evening, it's better to go somewhere else. Food was a touch of nothing for €25 (oysters) but nice to look at. The wines were very good.

Came on a Saturday evening with no booking, looking for bar seating to enjoy some wine and cocktails. In a crowded and busy period the staff accommodated us. We ended up having some appetisers and sweet treats with our beverages and stayed longer than expected as the atmosphere was such a vibe. As the staff switched their shifts, they made sure we were taken care of. Thank you for opening your doors to us.

We booked a table for eight people for dinner well in advance. Our table was placed right between the kitchen, old dishes and a grill station, so unfortunately it was very loud and not designed for a cozy dinner. We had barely sat down when we were greeted by served by an overwhelmed employee. Unfortunately, for such a great restaurant with this atmosphere, the starter was, to put it mildly, very bad. I had a Pulpo salad for €18.50. You had to look for the pulp slices. There were more carrots and salad on the plate, not very nicely decorated. My friend had the grilled pulpo. If I made this alone at home it would look better. Sorry, a little more creativity on the plate would have been appropriate. My friend had spaghetti because she is vegetarian. The spaghetti was also not al dente, but overcooked. She was also deprived of the starter salad before she could finish it. She later tried to communicate this to the employee personally in a very nice way. Service corresponding to this great atmosphere was simply not suitable. I understand a full restaurant, but the noise of the dishes and the staff clattering is simply not appropriate. Despite the stress, you would like to be able to eat comfortably and well for these prices in a nice atmosphere. This was not the case. (There was no shortage of staff)

The seating is so narrow, luckily someone canceled it otherwise you wouldn't even have been able to sit down, you think you're in a canteen and the staff isn't there at all. Worst of all, the food wasn't worth the money. Best of all, the shrimp wasn't edible.

We recently dined at Brenner, hoping for a great experience given its reputation, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing meals we’ve had in Munich. The food was far below expectations: the spaghetti was served cold, and the steak was overcooked and burnt. At €70 per person, the quality and preparation of the dishes were simply unacceptable. What made the experience worse was the poor service. The staff seemed uninterested and unprofessional. They struggled to communicate in English, which made addressing our concerns about the food nearly impossible. Additionally, we felt treated rudely when we politely tried to point out these issues. For a place with such high prices, we expected much better service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Brenner based on this experience.

Mediocre experience. Had the business lunch and it was way too oily. Salat was very mediocre / canteen like. Meat tasted good but nothing outstanding. Sides/potatoes/bread were good. Friendliness is also improvable. Atmosphere and interior is very nice. I wouldn’t come back though.

What an expense temple. That seems to me to be only for the Schicki-Micki faction. Loud, cramped, uncomfortable and completely overpriced. Seeing and being seen is more important than enjoying food.

Apart from the delicious food, the service VALENTINA was an absolute disgrace. I have never experienced something like that and it ruined the entire evening, including the special occasion for which we chose the restaurant. The food was delicious, you really have to give the restaurant credit for that. However, our waitress was unfriendly and snippy right from the start and in the end didn't even thank us for the 10% tip and then even kicked us off the table after we paid. (we weren't even in the restaurant for 1.5 hours). I would like to withdraw my tip and hope that the restaurant takes action.

Could have gone better. Seafood selection and fish soup plate and food cold or lukewarm. Scalopine and artichoke plate and food hot. It tasted good. We told the waiter. It can happen, the shop was packed and the food was probably waiting too long. OH WELL...

Went here on a Friday night. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, it was packed but there are a lot of attentive and friendly staff. The place has a real buzz and the menu is decent. We shared a starter of carpaccio beef, then had two mains, a pasta dish and the tiger king prawns. Despite the queue of people waiting to get in we never felt rushed. Would highly recommend.

An institution to “see and be seen” – and to eat Italian food.

A bit smaller portions and more expensive in price

I was asked to sit in the front area, I waited there for an hour for a table, no problem, I sat very well. At 2:29 p.m. I asked if my table was ready, I was told the table was ready. At the counter a colleague said that he wasn't finished yet and that I should be patient. A very rude employee, 1.66 tall Italian, then said I had to wait until the time came. I tried to explain to him that I also had another 1 hour. waited because I was sitting perfectly. But since I had given my place to other guests, I now demanded my table. The outrageous statement from the spirited Italian was then you would be put on the black list. I don't give a shit about his list. And once again it is confirmed that the Napoleon curse never stops.

From TOP to FLOP We are guests at BRENNER every time we are in Munich and have always been extremely satisfied This time pretty much everything went wrong. We entered the restaurant around 9 p.m. and were shown to the table by a young waitress who had probably had a bad day. Young people would describe it as “pissed off”. The drink order came in 3 attempts (there were four of us) The bottles of wine were left aside - only refilled when we asked The steak was excellent, even if it was only "room temperature" - they can really do that The cauliflower steaks were cold - after a complaint It was probably because our food was ready on the grill for ages - but the waitress was smoking - you could smell the fresh, cold smoke on your clothes In the end, the drinks we ordered didn't arrive and the broken or empty salt shaker was taken away and never seen again Highlight at the end: the last bottle of wine was thrown away even though there was still a good glass in it. When asked about everything, there was actually no response. At the end we were casually offered a coffee - but we just wanted to leave Too bad

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The host did not speak English, but brought over another employee who did to help us get seated. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to give us a table for an hour and a half, which was just fine. Very extensive wine list, and would recommend the Pomeranian filet and the salmon - and the rosemary potatoes were to die for. Our waitress was very attentive and also spoke English.

In this location you can find everything...lounge, restaurant, grill, café, bar and in summer a beautiful terrace. This store is timelessly beautiful The staff is professional. The prices are absolutely ok. The audience is mixed. From Schicki Micki to normal. This location is always worth a visit.

good food, quite simple but tasty, nice room but very very noisy

Unfortunately the restaurant was not as expected. The food was cold, there was no break between starter and main course and the dishes were clearly pre-prepared and only under heat lamps. The starters tasted good. However, the Bernaise sauce was ice cold and when we complained the only response was that it should be cold. The prices for the wines are too high.

Well, I am not convinced it is really worth the 3 stars even. We were put on a very uncomfortable table, very cold and on the way to the kitchen, there should not be a table at all! We asked to be reseated, did not happen, although there were free tables at some point. The food was also not convincing, especially for the high prices. Generally, they must try much harder to deserve their customers, I felt like a money bag, not a person enjoying food in a cosy place.

Top restaurant! Service extremely good and food quality excellent! Ambiance, excellent, I've been coming to Brenner to eat for years when I'm in Munich and can always recommend it. The quality has not diminished over the years! The employees are really well trained, courteous and very attentive and the service is simply first class. My parents were there for the first time and were also very satisfied. Even the dog was not left out. Water was brought directly.

Rude service last time with another waiter and this time with another. I thought it is only spesific to us but then waiter spoke worse to the table near us. Anyway, very unprofessional. Company should focus on customer experience and staff training.

Overall, the food in the Brenner Restaurant was very good, the main courses were tastefully and attractively prepared. However, the price-performance ratio for the side dishes was disappointing. The portion sizes were relatively small and far too expensive in comparison. Anyone who eats here will definitely get quality, but when it comes to the side dishes it feels like the price isn't quite justified.
