BRAUWELT KÖLN in Köln

Very nice there, we were in the beer garden because of the great weather 🌞 and the service team was very friendly and quick..... the food was very tasty and we can only recommend the brewery.

The Brauwelt Köln is a real experience for everyone who appreciates good beer and a special atmosphere. The ambience is impressive – modern and yet designed with a lot of charm and attention to detail. The selection of home-brewed beers is varied and tastes great, I particularly liked the light and pale ale. The food was also high quality, fresh and lovingly prepared. The staff was attentive, friendly and always had a smile on their faces despite the full house. Perfect for a social evening with friends or a special occasion. I'll definitely be back!

Hmm. We hadn't looked at the opening times beforehand. It was a pretty warm March evening and in my opinion the waiter took too long with the beers and I say that because there really wasn't much going on. Towards the end I had the feeling that the waiter just wanted to get off work quickly. I felt thrown out. Also had the impression that the cellar had more fun talking to the guests than serving them. Nevertheless, it was a nice evening and if you had come a little earlier you could have stayed seated a little longer.

Unfortunately no seniors appear to be welcome. There is no senior plate. And a children's plate may not be given to seniors. It's a real shame. So it's better to throw away the food??? Than to provide smaller plates for seniors.

Great atmosphere. In my opinion, even the nicest in Cologne. The food was unfortunately rather mediocre, and the portions were extremely small. I had a rather small Jägerschnitzel, and the portion of goulash was also very small. Unfortunately, we weren't really full. Otherwise, we only managed to get three Kölsch beers in two hours because it was virtually impossible to get service... so we went home thirsty, unfortunately.

Really great shop with a good beer selection and delicious food. However, I would like to point out two things: 1.: the entrance is quite difficult to find, so a sign or something pointing to the stairs might help. 2.: the vegan meatloaf (2 slices) with fried egg costs only marginally less than the pork knuckles (1.2 kg). I find that unreasonable, especially since the prices are already somewhat higher. Maybe the prices could be revised a bit again. Apart from these two small points, it was really a great experience, the service was great and the atmosphere was unique.

Unfortunately the weather had nothing to do with Christmas otherwise Sünner's Christmas world would have been better. It was beautifully done and Sünner's own mulled wine was delicious Whether it's summer or winter, the beer cellar alone is worth a visit. And the menu is varied. There's something for everyone. And women's carnival at the Brauwelt/Sünner is always great then nothing to do with carnival. Sorry Sünner but once took part never again. Maybe for the younger ones???

Tasty food, same selection as in other brauhauses, been here only once as it's not near the city center.

My wife and I have now eaten several dishes and they were all very tasty. I would also like to recommend the beer. The service staff is on the ball and extremely friendly. We really felt comfortable in the brewery cellar vault ambience. Best regards Karsten and Bea

The food was not recommended. I had Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were bone hard, the schnitzel was totally dry and there were two slices of champions in the sauce. And that for 22 euros. They won't see me again. The positive thing was the service. She was very friendly.

The food was very good for a brewery! Portion sizes were very generous so the slightly higher price was justified! The service was very nice and on point. Unfortunately it's a bit too slow for a brewery! (Complaining at a high level only deducts the B grade) Ambience was very nice. We sat in the vaulted cellar and that gave us a really great feeling!

Cologne's oldest still producing Kölsch brewery in Köln Kalk. Great old building, very nice vaulted cellar and nice beer garden. Since the merger with the Malzmühle, Mühlenkölsch has also been served. Nice service, delicious Kölsch, good food at reasonable prices. And a large parking lot. What more could you want?

We took a brewery tour led by an articulate and friendly young man. It was very interesting done by him. Afterwards we ate in the vaulted cellar. Basically quite good. Unfortunately the wrong food was served. Group of 10 people received the main course with a 15 minute delay. Waiters were nice and polite.

My rating refers exclusively to the parking situation: I was an exhibitor at a privately organized Christmas market on the Brauwelt grounds. This took place outside opening hours; only the outside bar was open for the Christmas market. I parked in the brewery's parking lot for about an hour to unload my goods. After a few weeks I received a payment request from a dubious parking surveillance company for almost 50 euros. Brauwelt does not respond to inquiries. Thank you for that! This means you have a handful less customers who would definitely have spent more than 50 euros on each of their visits.

Freshly tapped food is simply a must💯 The brewery has a cozy atmosphere thanks to the old walls with a new touch and the staff in particular are very, very friendly. Eating and drinking in the oldest brewery in Cologne. Whether in the beautiful vaulted cellar in winter or in the beer garden in summer. My personal highlight on the right side of the Rhine in Cologne.

We waited 1 hour for the order to be taken. Then we waited 1-2 hours for the food. We ate sometimes an hour apart.

Brewery tour nice, but very short. Factory sale interesting. Location nicely presented. But unfortunately: extremely warm and bad air in the basement, food convenience food and/or completely over-seasoned. Too expensive for that. Drinking beer and walking is enough.

Be careful and have staff unlock parking spaces, otherwise you will get a surprise for €50 We go to Brauwelt every now and then, always have very tasty beer and food. Our last visit was at the beginning of November. We had a reservation for 7pm, in the parking lot it says customer parking in capital letters and some small print at the bottom (hard to read in the dark). Food was OK, the staff was very nice and helpful. 2 weeks later we received a payment request of €50 for a parking violation. When asked by Brauwelt whether the parking spaces are free for customers, the answer is yes, but you have to get it activated by the staff. Unfortunately, Brauwelt cannot do anything about this as the parking lot is operated by a private company. The change with the parking spaces came about a few weeks ago, so as a customer I expect the staff in the restaurant to point this out or that it is clearly visible inside. Especially in winter when it gets dark early.

We visited the Brauhauskeller on a Saturday evening with 4 people and had reserved in advance. The Kölsch was delicious. We remembered the menu to be much larger. Turns out there was a shortened menu because it's full. -At that time it was still completely empty. A variation of the specified dishes was basically not possible. It was immediately rejected by the service person without asking in the kitchen. I then had to choose another dish. The goulash then came to the table cold. The portions were very small. In return for the cold goulash at a hefty price, there was a Kölsch for the two of them with goulash. We then left because we were still hungry. We won't be coming back here any time soon.

We had reserved a table for the Christmas party. Neither when making the reservation nor upon arrival were we informed that the table was only reserved for 2 hours. The menu was simply reduced without notice and a very limited range of dishes was offered. There wasn't even a rump steak. When the food was served, a schnitzel was so black, despite the dark breading, that it had the consistency of a car tire. Instead of pork fillet, a schnitzel was served, and that for 5 orders. The service was aimed at ensuring that our group drank as much as possible in the shortest possible time. Since the table was limited in time, part of our group was lucky to still eat their food, as there was a delay due to the incorrect food being served. We were asked to pay in a very rude manner and Köbes had the nerve to ask for a tip. All around a miserable evening. Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't deserve a second chance. If it were possible there would be no star.

Super nice location in the vaulted cellar. The surrounding area is also beautifully designed with a shop and outdoor area. The “winter market” promises a little more than it ends up being for the large area, but it’s still quite nice. The brewery tour is entertaining, well done and interesting. The advantage is the free parking spaces (you can get the code in the restaurant) right next door. Unfortunately the food isn't great and I expect better from the brewery. Schnitzel was burnt and carelessly prepared. Service reaction to this is inappropriate. In general, the service was mostly nice and attentive, but apparently overwhelmed by the full shop and it was very chaotic.

Yes, today is a Friday evening in the run-up to Christmas - but that doesn't excuse the catastrophe we experienced today. It felt like the two of us were sitting right in the entrance. Uncomfortable and nothing was covered. It took a full 20 minutes for the Köbes to arrive. Yes, he was frolicking around, like a good Köbes should - but he was already over it. The cheese spaetzle that I saw on the menu online a few days ago was not available. Just a stripped down card. The fried potatoes from the vegan Leberkäse could not be exchanged for fries or puree (available on the menu). All right. Our food arrived within a few minutes. It looked good at first glance...and that was all we could tell Köbes when he asked almost immediately. But we got Braumeister's favorite, a barely warm, thick, fried fillet with fried potatoes and the vegan meat loaf, also with fried potatoes. I'm not a fishy person, but the meatloaf was burnt and the decorative chives were dried out. Of course the burnt side was on the bottom so you can't see it. The fried potatoes were also dry. We also said that to another lady when we were clearing away. She wanted to take care of it, but we had already lost it. Then we paid and didn't tip Köbes enough, so he repeated the amount several times. But the icing on the cake came when he cleared away the not yet empty bottle of cologne (actually as full as in the picture!). That was probably the expulsion. Dear Brauwelt, sorry, but we were used to much better things from you on previous visits. But today's meal really ruined our evening so much that we didn't feel like visiting your Christmas market anymore.

I received a salad that I did not order. I pointed this out to the waiter and he apologized and said he would bring the correct order. When the salad came, it was the same again - but with chicken, as it should have been originally. The waiter said I should be happy because I had now gotten “more”. However, some ingredients in the salad were burnt. I didn't receive the bread that actually came with it, and the mayonnaise with the fries was also forgotten "despite repeated requests" We were a group of over 30 people and almost everyone had similar problems with their orders. Conclusion: We definitely won't be coming back.

We were here as guests of a wedding reception. The atmosphere is very nice, the service is friendly and attentive. The Sünner Kölsch is also highly recommended. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't completely convincing. All in all a great location.

Mit wollte sich einen schönen Abend machen. Zu fünft (1 Rollstuhlfahrerin, 1 Rollatorfahrer und 3 Personen ohne) wir die Brauwelt in Kalk. Ja es war spontan und nein wir hatten nicht reserviert. Was wie sich rausstellen sollte ein Problem war. Nachdem man uns ca. 10Minuten hat warten lassen kam eine Dame auf uns zu und fragte leicht genervt nach unseren Wünschen. Wir erklärten kurz das wir kurzentschlossen hier essen und trinken wollten. Haben Die reserviert? Nein haben wir nicht . Das ist schlecht. Alle Plätze sind reserviert (obwohl noch jede Menge Tische leer waren. Können Sie nicht ein paar Stühle dazu stellen. Nein, nur mit Reservierung. Ich sagte: Wir haben ziemlich Hunger. Da meinte Sie ( und zeigte auf einen Treppenaufgang, dort sind noch Plätze. Da kommen wir mit Rollstuhl und Gehhilfe nicht hoch. Tja, da hätten Sie reservieren sollen meinte Sie schnippisch. Die ganze Zeit immer mit einem abschätzigen Blick auf die behinderten Personen. Wir sind dann gegangen und haben es uns in einem anderen Lokal gemütlich gemacht. Dort hatte man keine Probleme mit uns. Im Gegenteil, dort wurden wir freundlich und zuvorkommend behandelt.Die Dame in der Brauwelt versuchen alle schnell zu vergessen. Anm. bin seit 2015 oft Gast in diesem Lokal gewesen, aber nun auch zum letzten Mal. Genau wie meine Freunde.

Wenn man von einem so großen Brauhaus mit Gaststätte davon ausgeht, dass da eine gute Organisation sein muss, wurden wir leider gestern eines Besseren belehrt. Pünktlich anwesend mit genauer Information was 15 Personen essen möchten, mussten wir mehr als 90 Minuten auf das Essen warten. Erst nach Äußerung des Lokal zu verlassen, wurde uns dann die Gans serviert, von der man nicht sagen konnte, dass sie überragend gut war. Sie war okay, lieblos auf dem Teller reserviert nur leider war auch leider kaum Sauce sichtbar. auch wenn die kostenlose Runde Limon Cello serviert wurde, ist eine Wartezeit von 90 Minuten auf das Essen in keiner Weise akzeptabel. Und auch der wirklich tolle Kellner, konnte die Enttäuschung des Abends leider nicht mehr gutmachen…

Es ist gut es ist kolsch is an old saying from Cologne refering to the beer which is served in small glasses ( no its not bavaria so the size.is different) and brewed in cologne. The brauhaus brewery home is one of the places where they manufactured this type of beer. It is nice to see that the architecture represents the time of the second wave of groothandel of the city of cologne Jugendstil or art deco is clearly the inspiration for its architecture. It is not in the centre of the city yet this building tells quite a lot about the development of Cologne in the nineteenth and early twentieth century

Very nice Brauwelt cellar and large beer garden. Lots of Sünner beers to try. Very quick and funny staff. Unfortunately there are hardly any vegan dishes on the menu.

After a long break, we wanted to give the Sünner beer garden another chance and went there with friends for dinner early on a Sunday evening. We used to go there a lot, until the prices went up a lot, but the quality of the food got worse and worse. Unfortunately, this disappointed us again. One meal (tagliatelle with chanterelle cream sauce) was great. All other dishes are just okay considering the high prices and the portions are also very manageable. But the biggest outrage was the roast beef for 19.50 euros. The menu says that it comes with a “remoulade sauce”. That whets your appetite. But what happened? A ready-made bag (photo). I immediately complained to the waitress that at this price I expected something other than a tear-open bag, or at least a pimped-up tartar sauce. She then said that she would be happy to bring me a second bag... At least, and that was great, my complaint was passed on immediately and someone with responsibility came to the table. And explained to me that it was about protecting my health from harm in the summer, because tartar sauce had to be refrigerated. Aha? We then asked how other restaurateurs do it with tartar sauce, mayonnaise, aioli... and manage not to poison their guests. There was no answer, just give the bag and that's it. The portion of roast beef with six small slices wasn't worth 19.50 euros. The fried potatoes (small portion) and the salad (plenty) were fine. And if tartar sauce is such a big problem in the summer, why is such a dish on the menu? Apart from that, many other foods also require cool storage. By the way: the Sünner beer garden charges extra for ketchup and mayo at 75 cents per bag... A few days later there was another roast beef elsewhere for 21.50 euros. But: Ten nice slices of roast beef and an at least partly homemade remoulade sauce that was super delicious. There was nothing to complain about. Conclusion: We like to come back to this great location to drink Kölsch, but we eat somewhere else (again).

I loved the visit to Brauwelt Köln, it’s a real immersion in the world of brewing. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a warm atmosphere and passionate staff, ready to share the secrets of beer making with infectious enthusiasm. The course is well organized, offering a perfect balance between history, tradition, and brewing techniques. The facilities are impressive, clean and well maintained, allowing visitors to experience every step of beer making. The explanations are clear and accessible, even for those unfamiliar with the brewing process. The highlight of the visit is undoubtedly the tasting. The beer from Brauwelt Köln is simply fresh and excellent. A visit that I highly recommend to anyone passing through Cologne. Dinner at the brasserie was also excellent!

Nach langer Pause wollten wir dem Sünner-Biergarten eine neue Chance geben und sind mit Freunden dorthin an einem frühen Sonntagabend zum Essen gegangen. Wir waren früher sehr oft dort, bis die Preise stark angehoben, die Qualität des Essens aber immer schlechter wurde. Leider hat uns dieses erneut enttäuscht. Ein Essen (Tagliatelle mit Pfifferling-Rahm-Soße) war mega. Alle anderen Gerichte angesichts der gepfefferten Preise nur okay und auch sehr übersichtlich von der Portion her. Größte Unverschämtheit aber war das Roastbeef für 19,50 Euro. In der Karte steht, dass es dazu eine "Remouladen-Sauce" gebe. Das macht Appetit. Aber was kam? Ein Fertigtütchen (Foto). Ich habe mich sofort bei der Kellnerin beschwert, dass ich bei diesem Preis etwas Anderes erwarte als ein Aufreiß-Tütchen, wenigstens eine aufgepimpte Remoulade. Daraufhin sagte sie, dass sie mir gerne ein zweites Tütchen bringe ... Immerhin, und das war super, meine Beschwerde wurde umgehend weitergegeben und jemand mit Verantwortung kam an den Tisch. Und erklärte mir, dass es darum ginge, mich im Sommer vor einer Lebensmittelvergiftung zu bewahren, denn Remoulade müsse ja gekühlt werden. Aha? Wir haben dann zurückgefragt, wie es andere Gastronomen machen mit Remoulade, Mayonnaise, Aioli ... und es schaffen, ihre Gäste nicht zu vergiften. Eine Antwort gab es nicht, es gebe halt Tütchen und fertig. Die Portion Roastbeef war mit sechs kleinen Scheiben zudem keine 19,50 Euro wert. Die Bratkartoffeln (kleine Portion) und der Salat (reichlich) dazu waren in Ordnung. Und wenn Remoulade im Sommer so ein großes Problem ist, warum steht so ein Gericht dann auf der Karte? Abgesehen davon verlangen ja auch viele andere Lebensmittel eine kühle Lagerung. Übrigens: Ketchup und Mayo lässt sich der Sünner-Biergarten mit 75 Cent pro Tütchen extra bezahlen ... Ein paar Tage später gab es an anderer Stelle nochmal Roastbeef für 21,50 Euro. Aber: Zehn schöne Scheiben Roastbeef und eine zumindest teilweise hausgemachte Remouladen-Sauce, die superlecker war. Da gab es nichts zu meckern. Fazit: Zum Kölsch-Trinken kommen wir gerne in diese tolle Location zurück, aber gegessen wird (wieder) woanders.

Its very nice to sit in garten and drink bier. I ordered bier and French fries and it was very delicious but its too expensive and cost 10€

The portions were quite manageable for the prices and a brewery. It wasn't really hot anymore. The quality was overall ok. The malt schnitzel was dry and the sauce was very fatty. The fried potatoes only saw the pan briefly. The Kaiserschmarrn was also more of a sliced ​​pancake. The pork tenderloin was good as were the fries. The waitresses were very friendly. It wasn't full and still things were forgotten or it took a long time. The atmosphere in the yard is very nice.

The food is great, the outside is nice and you can sit well when the weather is good. But the service wasn't good at all when I visited. In 3 hours we were asked once about food requests and only twice about drinks. At 30 degrees it was pretty meager... You could have easily earned twice as much, but you probably didn't want to...

Very nice, large beer garden with a lounge corner, friendly staff. Everything in the middle of Cologne Kalk. There is an associated parking lot. Despite the central location, surprisingly quiet. There are Sünner and Malzmühlen Kölsch.

Was invited to a celebration. Unfortunately, the beer garden can only be used until 9:30 p.m. due to its location in a residential area. The celebration then continued in the vault, which offers a special ambience.

We held our company party there. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, and the food was rich and tasty. From 10 p.m. there will be a great moment for the outdoor area, so we continued the celebration in the vaulted cellar afterwards. The atmosphere there is also fantastic. We'd love to come back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

It's always worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Das Essen wie auch die Bedienung eines Brauhauses nicht würdig. Die Schnitzel alle unterschiedlich, mal fast schwarz mal halb roh. mein Gullasch ( für sage und schreibe 8 Euro ) wurdw in einem Gefäß,nicht viel größer als eine Kaffee Tasse Serviert. Der Geschmack ähnlich wie der Gullasch vom Aldi aus der Dose mit ein paar winzigen Fleischstückchen . Ohne zu fragen wurden die Teller abgeräumt ,nachfrage ?! Fehlanzeige. Das selbe beim bezahlen, keine nachfrage ob das Essen geschmeckt hat und beim Trinkgeld was ich höflichkeitshalber gab, kam auch kein Danke. Bei aller Liebe denke ich ,das für ein Schnitzel mit pommes und Salat ,eine Sinalco ( 0,3) ein Weizen der Preis von 44 Euro viel zu hoch ist , wenn ´s wenigstens gut Zubereitet gewesen wäre. Fazit ,eine Schande für ein Brauhaus. Mit sicherheit werden wir da nicht mehr hingehen. Schade nur , das seitens dem Brauhaus auf negative Kritik wohl nicht reagiert wird.

Wir waren insgesamt 5 Freunde die wir hier einen Tisch gebucht hatten und Platz im sommerlichen Biergarten bekommen hatten. Das Personal war nett und auch zu Späßen aufgelegt, was wir allen mochten. Die Spiesekarte ist übersichtlich und verfügt augenscheinlich über leckere Gerichte. Wir bestellten alle etwas anderes doch hatten wir alle Fritten dabei , von denen wir zu tioegfst enttäuscht waren. Diese Fritten war mit an hunderprozentiger Sicherheit schon ein zweites oder sogar ein drittes Mal in der Friteuse. Sie waren zwar heiß, mehr als dunkel anstatt goldgelb und die meisten waren tatsächlich knüppelhart. Als wir das der Bedienung sagten, passierte nichts, von ihrer Seite konnte wir auch nichts erwarten, aber es hätte sich ja mal jemand aus der Küche melden können. Wir hätten zumindest einen Entschuldigung erwartet oder eine Ausrede, aber es zu ignorieren finden wir fahrlässig. Etwa eine halbe Stunde später sahen wir, wie goldgelb die Fritten zu den anderen Tischen gebracht wurden. Da wir anscheinend die ersten an diesem Tag waren hatte man uns diese Fritten gebracht. Alles andere , was auf den Tellern war , hat gut geschmeckt.
