A fantastic tour with Hajo! Very entertaining and a fun-filled evening. We laughed, sang, and drank. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it anymore. Many of the products are frozen! €20 for a frozen schnitzel is outrageous. Service has deteriorated significantly.

If I ever see the headline "Man dies of thirst in brewery" in the Express newspaper, it will have happened in the brewing world. Okay, nine of us walked in unannounced on a Saturday evening, and they were able to accommodate us. The atmosphere is great, the beer tastes good, but it doesn't flow freely, more like a trickle. Some of the food in our group was excellent, but my duck leg was a bit dry.

Great location, food so-so. But that's a matter of taste.

Be careful with the new parking rules! Those who have been there in the past may not be aware of the new regulations, and parking costs almost €50 if you don't comply with the complex registration process. A little back and forth is required before the fun begins. "To activate your parking, simply contact our service team. They will provide you with a QR code that you can use to validate your license plate at the parking meter (directly visible at the entrance from the beer garden to the parking lot). This process is clearly explained on several signs on site." Otherwise, everything is great and worth a visit.

Everything was great, but the food could have been better and was too expensive (ribs for €26.50).

The food was delicious. The waitress was initially quick to bring our drinks. After that, we had to wait a long time to order our food. We also had to ask for more drinks because no one else came. Since it was full, we had a table next to a tree/shrub. It could use some trimming, so it wouldn't take up almost half the bench space and we could sit there properly. Finally, there was a significant miscalculation on the bill. The lady wanted almost €70 more than we actually had. It wasn't until we calculated the order that she realized it. Parking was free.

Great beer garden. Friendly staff and a fantastic selection of drinks, including homemade lemonade and, of course, Kölsch and Wiess. The prices are absolutely fair. The food is good and affordable.

I've been back for the first time in a few months. The atmosphere hasn't changed. It's still great. The service was quick at first, but a bit slower with more customers. I didn't like the food as much this time. You had to add ketchup and mayo to the fries, which was a bit expensive. The food was also expensive compared to the quality. What bothered me most, though, was the fact that I also had to pay for parking at the brewery. All the best for the future and to the team.

Super friendly service, good food, and a very good selection of drinks. The beer garden is fantastic. And you can also make reservations for outside (since it's open either indoors or outdoors).

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious... Large grounds, also suitable for children. There are even go-karts available and a foosball table, where we had a game for the first time in 40 years... A very diverse crowd of all ages. We'll be back!! Keep up the good work!!!

Great beer garden and beer cellar.

We actually wanted to enjoy a Kölsch beer after the brewery tour. In the beer garden, we were directed to the lounge, where we could sit for a drink. However, there was no room. With the words "Welcome to Cologne," we were told that we could squeeze in. Otherwise, there would be no room, even though there were still plenty of tables available.

We order: 4 cheesy chicken burgers with extra cheese sauce and receive: 3 chicken burgers without cheese sauce in cold...

The schnitzel was hard, dry, and slightly burnt; the fries were cold. The bratwurst was okay. If you're going to offer a limited number of dishes, they should taste good. And then there's the outrageous price. The second star is only for the friendly service. It's also not polite to clear plates across the table when you're still eating and the whole table is still eating.

Had a beer. The beers are quite nice and tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is fast. But card payments only start at €10??? City of a million inhabitants, international, trade fair city? Or do you need to save on fees? Are you that miserable? Every bakery is more modern! All I'm saying is: Germany! 🙄

The price/performance ratio is unacceptable, the fries are fried several times. The taste is no better than at an average chip shop. The dishes are overpriced, and they don't really have anything to do with a good, traditional brewery.

Despite the moderate weather, only outdoor dining was possible. Everything was very cramped, resulting in very little personal space; you weren't allowed to sit wherever you wanted but were assigned a table. The fries had definitely been fried several times. Two tablespoons of hunter's sauce cost €3.00 extra. Overall, the atmosphere wasn't exactly cozy, especially since it was starting to rain.

We had a really cozy time in the beer garden. The food is a bit pricey but very tasty! There's also something for vegans and vegetarians. The Limoncello Spritz is amazing! Overall, we had a lovely evening and would recommend everyone to pay a visit to Brauwelt Köln :)

A very nice atmosphere, both in the brewery cellar and in the beer garden. And the staff are always very attentive and friendly.

Everything was great, and the Brewery World tour is also worth mentioning. The only downside: Kölsch in the beer garden is only available in 0.3l glasses.

Although the place is truly beautiful with its spacious atmosphere, there unfortunately seem to be some organizational difficulties in the operation. There are plenty of free tables, but the separation between the dining and non-dining areas seems somewhat arbitrary: In the area where you're supposedly only allowed to eat, people only drink, and in the area where eating isn't allowed, people eat. Unfortunately, this was the only reason we weren't allowed to sit where we wanted to. With a little more focus on guest satisfaction, the experience here would certainly have been even more pleasant.

Disappointing visit – nice ambience, but the rest leaves much to be desired We visited Brauwelt with a group of 10 people. Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing overall. After we ordered our drinks, about 45 minutes passed before anyone even came to take our food order. The waitress seemed overwhelmed – apparently, the technology was causing problems. The food finally arrived, but without cutlery. Only after repeated requests did it arrive – unfortunately, significantly late. The food was also disappointing in terms of taste: It seemed reheated and tasted accordingly. Considering the price, it really wasn't worth it. The only positive point: the ambience – really beautifully designed and inviting. Nevertheless, it will be our last visit. What a shame!

It looks quite nice, but the service is terrible. They only ask for a drink after 45 minutes, even though you're already starving. The wrong dishes were brought out, and you're then harassed by a temporary worker for their mistake. On top of that, the food is a complete disgrace and would be better at any currywurst stand. For the price, it's an absolute disgrace. The drinks are always empty, and no one comes to refill them. I've never had such a bad experience anywhere. Once, and never again!

I highly recommend the Sünner Brauhaus. They serve Sünner Kölsch, Mühlen Kölsch, and a few other beers. The beer garden is quite nice in the summer. It's Cologne Kalk, not the Belgian Quarter, but you should still plan a visit. Many tour groups from all over the world regularly head to the Sünner. It's also part of the brewery culture...!!

The tour through the Cologne Brewery World was a very successful experience overall. The tour was varied, informative, and delivered with a great deal of humor and a palpable sense of enthusiasm – you can tell that the guides are passionate about what they do. We really enjoyed this and it created a relaxed, authentic atmosphere. Although the experience was high, we felt the price was a bit ambitious in relation to the overall package. In our opinion, a better price-performance ratio would have been desirable. As for the subsequent visit to the beer garden: The food was okay, although the portion sizes were rather manageable. What we really missed, however, was the typical brewery cuisine. Unfortunately, classics like knuckle of pork, Himmel un Ääd mit Flönz (a kind of smoked pork with sauerkraut), or Soorbrode (a kind of sourdough bun) were nowhere to be found – which was a shame and somewhat diminished the culinary experience for us. On the positive side, the service staff deserves special mention: attentive, quick-witted, and full of Rhenish charm – you feel in good hands here. Conclusion: An entertaining tour with heart and humor, a solid culinary offering – with potential for improvement, especially in terms of value for money and the culinary offerings.

Adventure! Said the waiter as I was given a "Kölschello" (Kölsch with limoncello) and then a Kölsch with pink grapefruit. Both were delicious, highly recommended. We had a grill buffet with a simple selection, but well-prepared and tasty. The beer garden offers shade under the trees and has cozy lounge areas. The service was very fast and extremely attentive. They weren't afraid to speak their minds, cheerful, friendly, and not rude, as is usually the case in breweries. Finally, a brewery I like 😍

Nice place to have a Kölsch beer. Friendly service. The food, however, isn't really recommended. High prices for subpar food. The spare ribs had no roasted flavor, were only lukewarm, and barely seasoned. Far too little glaze. One wonders why the meat wasn't at least briefly grilled. The currywurst was also only lukewarm. So, drink Kölsch 👍Food 👎

We had a company party in the beer garden and had excellent food. I've rarely experienced such good service. The colleague who served us was always very friendly and attentive. The foosball table (although a new one could be done) and cornhole were also really cool. I'd love to come back.

I've given the Sünner Brewery a chance several times and, unfortunately, I'm more disappointed each time. The beer garden is particularly bad: you wait forever or are completely ignored, and the staff seem unfriendly and lackluster. The food is expensive and, unfortunately, nothing special. The only positive thing is the factory outlet: friendly, fast, and a good selection. Just buy what you want here and drink it at home. As a local resident who only needs a two-minute walk, it's a real shame. This could really improve Kalk. Especially with the great building and the brewery cellar, which is truly worth seeing and has massive potential.

Even though we wanted to eat and drink, we were no longer welcome, as card games are now prohibited. Disappointing. But luckily, there are plenty of other places where paying guests are welcome :-).

Service, beer, and atmosphere were all very good. The beer garden is very cozy. The food is far too expensive for what it is. Schnitzel from the deep fryer and potato salad from a packet. I wouldn't go back because of the food. What a shame.

We took the brewery tour here, which was entertaining and well-presented. There are all sorts of treats for sale in the shop.

I had a sudden awakening after receiving a nasty €50 ticket from them for 13 minutes of parking, and they didn't even realize that you're not allowed to park for free as a customer. The service was OK, but I'll never come back as long as they work with this company, AVANTPARK.

I was simply in the mood for spare ribs. Good spare ribs. I drove to Cologne-Kalk and found a beautiful beer garden. The experts would certainly say: "Top-class fine dining." Excellent food, very attentive and courteous waiters, and drinks at just the right temperature. In short, a fantastic dining experience and highly recommended, so I give this exceptional brewery a full 5 stars in all categories. 👍💪♥️📌👀

After a long break, we wanted to give the Sünner beer garden another chance and went there with friends for dinner early one Sunday evening. We used to go there quite often until the prices were raised significantly, but the quality of the food deteriorated. Unfortunately, this time we were disappointed again. One meal (tagliatelle with chanterelle cream sauce) was amazing. All the other dishes were only okay considering the hefty prices, and the portions were also very modest. The biggest outrage, however, was the roast beef for €19.50. The menu states that it comes with a "retoulade sauce." It makes you hungry. But what arrived? A pre-made packet (photo). I immediately complained to the waitress that at that price, I expected something other than a tear-open packet, at least a pimped-up retoulade. She then said she'd be happy to bring me a second sachet... At least, and that was great, my complaint was immediately passed on, and someone with responsibility came to the table. And explained to me that it was about protecting my health in the summer, because tartar sauce had to be refrigerated. Aha? We then asked how other restaurateurs handled tartar sauce, mayonnaise, aioli... and managed to avoid poisoning their guests. There was no answer: they just used sachets, and that's it. The portion of roast beef, with six small slices, wasn't worth €19.50 either. The fried potatoes (small portion) and the salad (plenty) that came with it were fine. And if tartar sauce is such a big problem in the summer, why is such a dish on the menu? Besides, many other foods require refrigerated storage. By the way: The Sünner beer garden charges an extra 75 cents per sachet for ketchup and mayo... A few days later, we had roast beef again at another location for €21.50. But: ten nice slices of roast beef and a remoulade sauce, at least partly homemade, that was super delicious. Nothing to complain about. Conclusion: We'd happily return to this great location for a Kölsch beer, but we'll eat somewhere else (again).

Addendum: Please read the parking information! I now consider this one of the best beer gardens in Cologne. I like the cellar (in bad weather) even better. Cozier and quieter than the traditional brewery. A very large selection of beers and spirits, and delicious brewery cuisine.

The comedy tour with Hajo is a must for lovers of Cologne culture. The grounds, the beer garden, and the restaurant are highly recommended. Some of the waiters try to imitate the charm of a Cologne Köbber, but with the help of the manager, this is easily tolerated.

Poor food quality. The food arrived within a few minutes and was lukewarm. The fries were extremely salty and probably double-fried. The decorative "baked" tomatoes were still half-frozen. The price is outrageous.

Disappointing visit – unfortunately not recommended Our visit to the brewery was a huge disappointment. The timing of the serving was chaotic – one person received their food much too early, while the rest had to wait a long time. One dish was completely wrong and had to be returned, meaning one person didn't eat until everyone else was almost finished. The pork neck steak was unfortunately extremely salty. Several orders were either forgotten or brought incorrectly. The fries were extremely greasy and had an unpleasantly fishy taste. Overall, the service was uncoordinated and the quality of the food disappointing. Unfortunately, it's not a place we would visit again.

Service was very good and prompt, and the ambiance was also very good. Unfortunately, the food was a bit lacking. I ordered a steak and got pork neck, while my girlfriend first got a steak (wrong) and then the chicken steak – which was still raw, and actually, on the third attempt, it worked. And instead of a digestif or Kölsch on the house, we had to pay the full price. It's a real shame, but we won't be going back.

It was great. Not just the Kölsch, but also our guide Ulli was a hilarious lad. We ate well, even though it was incredibly crowded. Everyone was nice and friendly. Great 👍

Food is tasty but really small portions

This review refers to our wedding reception in Keller 3 of the Brauwelt and the Brauwelt as an event location (with approximately 35 guests). Contact & Contact Persons From the first contact to the very last moment of the celebration, we felt in the best of hands. Any queries we had were answered promptly and to our complete satisfaction. Our individual lighting needs were also openly addressed and implemented to our satisfaction. On the day itself, as well as the day before during the decorating, we had a dedicated contact person at all times who helped with any questions (thanks Monita 😉). For example, the tables were rearranged or moved after dinner according to our wishes. Customized Packages Our individual requests, which were not listed in the banquet package, were all implemented without any problems. For example, we were able to book a mini brewery tour for our guests and adjust the drinks package to our liking. Food and Drinks The food (Braumeister buffet, Cologne tapas) was a huge hit with our guests! The pumpkin coconut soup and the mini potato pancakes with salmon were particularly popular. Our guests also loved the drinks, even though there were hardly any Cologne natives or actual Kölsch drinkers among us! The Sünner Kölsch was by far the most popular, as were the London Mule and the Cassuki. The currywurst as a midnight snack was devoured without exception. Additional Services We had booked the photo booth and music system (without a DJ). Setup, etc., went smoothly. Service Our guests were thrilled with the warmth and friendliness of the service staff! They even took some funny photos in the photo booth with drunk guests 😉. No one was left without food throughout the entire evening, and we were provided with drinks at our tables and at the bar. Ambience The ambiance is cozy and historic with modern elements. The only minor drawback is that Cellar 3 isn't yet fully adapted to the design concept, like Cellars 1 and 2. However, the advantage of the space was its separate location/"separation" from the other two cellars, and thus from ongoing day-to-day business. For our group size (35 people), the cellar was the ideal size. Conclusion We would definitely book Brauwelt again for a small celebration with 30-40 guests. This location is perfect, especially when the temperatures aren't too summery, and you don't want to spend much time outside. Brauwelt and its staff perfectly reflected the Cologne lifestyle for our non-Cologne guests, which made us very happy!

Very nice beer garden, absolutely top-notch service, and a good waiter who was absolutely convincing in his friendly and personable manner, as well as his speed. The highlight was the ice-cold 0.3 liter Mühlenkölsch, while the food (I had a Jägerschnitzel with fries – comfort food for €22.50) was okay in terms of taste but the amount of schnitzel could have been a little better. If it were freshly prepared, it would have been okay for the price, but not this way, unless the schnitzel was a bit larger. The Kaiserschmarrn for €10 was almost a bit too much in terms of quantity (just my opinion). Free parking is right next to the beer garden, but there's only a small entrance in the yellow wall, and some people might miss it. A large sign would definitely help people find the parking lot right away.

The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. What really ruined my brewery experience was the €49 parking ticket for the "customer" parking lot, which I hadn't paid in full for a three-hour stay – that's just not acceptable!

The food wasn't good value for money. Too expensive for what was offered. The Kölsch beer was delicious, and the server was very friendly. The ambiance was also very nice.

It couldn't get any worse - we once again had the worst food, service, and prices in a long time... The audacity with which cheap food, professional incompetence, and exorbitant prices are sold is unbelievable. We had a reservation for 6 people - for whatever reason. The menu was horrible, and the prices were exorbitant. We ordered the cheapest dishes: Asparagus soup, currywurst with fries (€16), schnitzel with fries (€18), etc. The food couldn't be worse: sausage cold, tiny, browned on two sides, fries hard from frozen, schnitzel tiny, pre-fried junk, meatball ditto, vegan meatloaf inedible... For 6 meals, 6 beers, and 2 waters, they charged over €165!!... None of it was edible, fresh, or could even be called kitchen food. This restaurant should be closed immediately due to fraud, fraudulent deception, and the sale of improperly cooked food.

The brewery tour was entertaining and entertaining. We were even allowed to try a fresh Wiess. Food in the beer garden afterwards was also good.

Wir haben einen Tisch im Brauhaus reserviert, als wir dann dort ankamen, war das Brauhaus geschlossen und wir wurden in den Biergarten gebeten. Dort bekamen wir einen Tisch aber es war doch recht kühl und wir waren darauf nicht vorbereitet. Die Speisenkarte ist sehr klein, nur Bratwurst, Currywurst und Burger. Das ist lecker aber keine typisch kölsche Küche, zudem alles Convinienceprodukte. Kinderkarte mussten wir erst erfragen und die war ein Witz, Bedienung musste erst nachfragen, ob Nuggets vorrätig seien. Überhaupt war die Bedienung überfordert, vergaß auch mal eine Getränkebedtellung und war mehr daran interessiert, neue Gäste zu platzieren als bereits am Tisch sitzende Gäste zu bedienen. Alles in allem eher enttäuschend.

Die Brauwelt ist mit Tasting und Führungen ein Erlebnis. Wir waren beim Comedy Tasting und hatten viel Spaß. Der Gewölbekeller hat eine super Atmosphäre. Die Küche bietet gute Brauhaus Gerichte, wie Schnitzel, Burger und weitere Klassiker. Wir hatten ua Malzschnitzel. Pommes waren Mega lecker. Preise sind in Ordnung. Vom Fass und aus der eigenen Produktion gibt es Sünner, sowie Mühlen Kölsch.

In the summer there is a nice beer garden to linger in (doesn't always work as the tables are only allocated for 1.5-2 hours) so you have to be lucky that there are still tables available. I had promised myself more food and so had everyone else. Food: tarte flambée, schnitzel, burgers, currywurst, etc. We often sat dry for a long time. Nevertheless, I like the place, the vaulted cellar has been beautifully done. Sitting on the terrace is very uncomfortable, a pillow would help. If you sit on the chairs for a while, you'll get a lot of back support. A tour is definitely worth it, whether comedy or tasting etc... The staff was friendly and helpful. The new drink limoncello is also highly recommended. All in all a good atmosphere.

Wonderful atmosphere, really intriguing and unique. Menue offer is well selected and focused. Only flaw is a scarce offer of vegetarian meals. Tried the Portobello burger, which was very tasty!

The Brauwelt Köln is a real experience for everyone who appreciates good beer and a special atmosphere. The ambience is impressive – modern and yet designed with a lot of charm and attention to detail. The selection of home-brewed beers is varied and tastes great, I particularly liked the light and pale ale. The food was also high quality, fresh and lovingly prepared. The staff was attentive, friendly and always had a smile on their faces despite the full house. Perfect for a social evening with friends or a special occasion. I'll definitely be back!

Hmm. We hadn't looked at the opening times beforehand. It was a pretty warm March evening and in my opinion the waiter took too long with the beers and I say that because there really wasn't much going on. Towards the end I had the feeling that the waiter just wanted to get off work quickly. I felt thrown out. Also had the impression that the cellar had more fun talking to the guests than serving them. Nevertheless, it was a nice evening and if you had come a little earlier you could have stayed seated a little longer.

Unfortunately no seniors appear to be welcome. There is no senior plate. And a children's plate may not be given to seniors. It's a real shame. So it's better to throw away the food??? Than to provide smaller plates for seniors.

Great atmosphere. In my opinion, even the nicest in Cologne. The food was unfortunately rather mediocre, and the portions were extremely small. I had a rather small Jägerschnitzel, and the portion of goulash was also very small. Unfortunately, we weren't really full. Otherwise, we only managed to get three Kölsch beers in two hours because it was virtually impossible to get service... so we went home thirsty, unfortunately.

The cellar vault and the ambience are beautiful. The food was very tasty and served quickly. We were there in a large group and all the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our waiter was also nice and friendly. We thank you for a very nice evening with you!

Really great shop with a good beer selection and delicious food. However, I would like to point out two things: 1.: the entrance is quite difficult to find, so a sign or something pointing to the stairs might help. 2.: the vegan meatloaf (2 slices) with fried egg costs only marginally less than the pork knuckles (1.2 kg). I find that unreasonable, especially since the prices are already somewhat higher. Maybe the prices could be revised a bit again. Apart from these two small points, it was really a great experience, the service was great and the atmosphere was unique.

Unfortunately the weather had nothing to do with Christmas otherwise Sünner's Christmas world would have been better. It was beautifully done and Sünner's own mulled wine was delicious Whether it's summer or winter, the beer cellar alone is worth a visit. And the menu is varied. There's something for everyone. And women's carnival at the Brauwelt/Sünner is always great then nothing to do with carnival. Sorry Sünner but once took part never again. Maybe for the younger ones???
