BräuStadel in Heidelberg

The most important thing in advance: When we made the reservation for a group (15 people) by telephone, it was not pointed out that there was only one “selection card” for groups. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with this, but it should be explicitly pointed out in advance when making the reservation. After a long period of back and forth, the willingness was finally shown to prepare five dishes (hocks) from the normal menu for the group. There was supposed to be a 10 liter barrel of beer with the meal - but that wasn't possible either because there was "nothing in stock at the moment". The brewery feeling left a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, they didn't let it dampen their mood and made do with the rest of the drinks menu. The food turned out to be solidly middle class. The disappointment was almost forgotten when the waitress took the cash and completely ruined the already frayed experience. Instead of the “Wiener Schnitzel” they tried to charge for the more expensive “Wienerschnitzel” – even though these couldn’t be ordered from the “selection menu”. Conclusion of the evening: The communication beforehand was extremely unfortunate, the food was solid, but the service was questionable.

Food is homemade, good cuisine.

Celebrated my birthday here with some friends, service and atmosphere were great and everyone was happy :)

Ready meals not of any quality. Taste very bad. Try your dishes first before they are put on the menu. Lunch poor quality and tasteless. Service friendly therefore 2 stars.

Live music every Wednesday, and sometimes no club music/techno: finally, thank you :). There are too few of these in Heidelberg. And dancing is also possible :). Beer and wine are great too :). How about a dance event? Latin, Greek, 80ies/90ies :). Overall a nice experience. Just better ventilation would be great. It smells strongly of the kitchen ;).

We always enjoy coming back for lunch. The service is friendly and fast, the food is always healthy and not too "fatty". Even in the absence of alternatives, it was the best place for us to have a quick and good lunch.

There were 6 of us and we ate very well and drank delicious beer

We came to the restaurant straight after a long doctor's appointment and found the atmosphere very pleasant, although we had to wave eagerly until a waiter came, even though there wasn't much going on at the time. We then ordered Wiener Schnitzel with fries and non-alcoholic wheat, both very tasty and thanks to the lunch menu, the prices weren't that expensive and the portion was reasonable (we were very hungry!). But then the mishap happened when I leaned a little to the side and suddenly the chair collapsed completely under me!! I fell sideways on the floor and sprained my hand very badly, and as it turned out a spot weld on the chair had completely broken and it shouldn't have been used at all! The waiter hadn't noticed anything, even though everyone at the table and my husband had jumped up to help and the cutlery had also clattered to the floor. My husband arranged for a new chair and cutlery and called the waiter to show him the damage. He was of course shocked, brought ice to cool his hand and called his boss about possible insurance issues. Details. The boss then wanted to contact me - but that never happened. We were then promptly served the bill, no discount, no dessert or at least a small "compensation drink", nothing. There were multiple apologies from the nice waiter, but they didn't make my pain any easier. I'm pretty disappointed and a little pissed off, hence 3 stars less. It remains to be seen whether the hand will still cause problems. As a secretary, that would be doubly unpleasant for me. I would like to send an extra negative star to the disinterested owner of the inn.

The agreement regarding the reservation was not adhered to or informed that there were changes and only a small day ticket. In addition, all the dishes were available again as they were on the small menu. This fact was also not reported. This was definitely the last Christmas party here for us.

Good solid cuisine at reasonable prices. We eat here regularly and enjoy eating out. Unfortunately delivery is no longer possible.

Pleasant places, with a particularly innovative service thanks to the use of autonomous robots which transport the dishes close to the table, making the work of the waiter/waitress easier. Good value for money, and nice atmosphere.

I didn't like the food. However, taste can be debated.

German cuisine. The food tastes good, but compared to similar restaurants it is quite expensive and not outstanding. However, the location is very good, right next to the Mathematicon and the adjacent underground car park. All in all, worth a visit, especially if you want to stay in Neuenheim and enjoy Bavarian-German cuisine.

Either I was unlucky or everyone who writes here that the food is great has never eaten well! I was even a guest at least three or four times! The first time, the food was really good. But that was at least a year ago! Things really didn't go well after that! I wasn't treated unkindly at all. It's nice to sit and the beer is good. I will come again, but not for dinner :D

Decent food and selection. Mostly eat here for lunch. It is a bit hit and miss so a solid 3/5. Bigger groups get their food served by a robot which can be some kind of a highlight.

It was my first time at BräuStadl with my family. We all really enjoyed it and we will definitely come back. I can only recommend it!!

We wanted to go out for a spontaneous meal with 3 children and also needed something gluten-free. Although it wasn't explicitly marked on the menu, we found something with the waiter: unbreaded schnitzel with fried potatoes. The chef also assured us that he uses a separate pan etc. The staff took very good care of us. The food was very tasty and we were symptom-free. The children were also able to use coloring pads and pencils.

Recommended! Thanks to the location, nothing too crowded even on Saturdays, very nice service, very tasty food and the ambience is also great! We'll be back.

Food is great there. We visit you several times a year.Bräu Stadel We love you. We would be happy to come to you. We now live in the Palatinate. We celebrated our wedding at the BräuStadel. ♡♡♡

You either sit between the high-rise buildings of the university or in the dark, hall-like beer hall. As the name suggests, the food is focused on Bavarian delicacies - unfortunately the quality and price do not match at all. Regardless of whether it's dry, tasteless Viennese veal schnitzel with sticky breading (deep-frozen? Did the meat patty come off the assembly line?) for €31 or the peppery onion roast for €28 - unfortunately it's not all worth the money. And a blackcurrant spritzer for over €6 is simply exorbitant. It's a shame - the map reads nicely - but that's about it. We wouldn't want to eat here anymore. A robot waiter won't help either! Actually, they should have sent for the cook immediately! The quality was unacceptable! This is the kind of food I might expect to find at a theme park or a tourist hotspot.

It's a shame that a service robot brings the food to the table. Unfortunately, there was no smile at all from the waitress. Too expensive for what is offered.

So it's still okay to go out for a drink in the evening, the location is nice. I wouldn't recommend eating. Very expensive for small portions, salad is not tasty and not fresh either. The warm dishes are also not recommended. It also takes a long time for the food to be served, even though you haven't ordered much and there's hardly anything going on. You can try it, but wouldn't come again.

Can’t really say much about the food, but what I saw looked pretty good; it’s rustic, tending toward Bavarian fare.

Neither Bavarian music nor Bavarian schnapps. Hard wooden benches. Furnishings are not reminiscent of Bavaria.

Classic restaurant. Food good and plentiful. Atmosphere a bit like in a festival tent. Also good for families with children as it is unconventional.

I had a lovely and entertaining evening here. A Spanish-Latino band was playing. The food and drinks are typically Bavarian. From Leberkas to original Wiener Schnitzel or rump steak from Bavarian pastured beef to the classic pork knuckle. Also small dishes like bratwurst or sausage salad. Speaking of salad, there are 2 vegetarian salads and 4 with goat cheese, white sausage or beef strips. There are also special, inexpensive meals for children, such as: Spaetzle with sauce, or sausage with fries. Although the prices are in the mid-range, I would describe it as good value. Because the quality and taste of the food is worth the price. In summer temperatures there is a beautiful, large beer garden outside. It's always worth a visit here if you want to enjoy Bavarian cuisine.

The worst schnitzel I've ever eaten. The fries were an imposition. The highlight of the meal was ketchup and mayo. It's a shame, the shop has a really nice atmosphere and the beer is tasty

I'll start with the positive. The ambience is nice but not extraordinary. But the high-priced food and drinks don't come anywhere close to what the price promises. Today, in an admittedly large group, we had a meal advertised as a buffet, which consisted of a meat dish and a vegetarian version. Buffet works differently. The offer was adjusted neither in quality nor in quantity to EUR 21.50. I, and as I observed several others, were still so hungry that they went to the neighboring bakery to fill up the lack of satiety with various baked goods. The rhubarb spritzer for EUR 6.10 only saw one stick of rhubarb. Service was tried but annoying. All in all, the landlord or landlady has missed the chance for productive advertising. A pity.

Good beer and worst cheese spaetzle ever.

The food was no longer hot, just lukewarm and my asparagus was too hard. Some of my niece's fries were not yet fully fried. The staff wasn't exactly motivated and wasn't interested in our opinion.

Service was good and friendly, crusty roast was also okay. The red cabbage was also delicious. Unfortunately the toilet was a bit dry and not enough sauce. Location is beautifully done.

The food was good, but the portion was too small for €16.90. It's nice that you can sit outside. The interior design looks great and gives a cozy atmosphere. One point deduction for the small portion (price-performance ratio) is not appropriate.

I had only heard good things about the restaurant, but unfortunately I was disappointed myself. €75 for two people for a mediocre, if any, meal. The rump steak was completely cooked through, the vegetables looked like they came from the freezer and were not seasoned at all , the pork knuckle was ok but not outstanding either. In addition, with the store almost completely empty, there were longer waiting times because the waiters were busy chatting. All in all, I don't recommend it.

A gem in the Matheton away from the tourist mile. Attentive service, really good food and - of course - delicious beer. Our group of nine rugby fans from Haguenau were very satisfied.

Unfortunately, the service at lunchtime was completely overwhelmed and therefore unfriendly. We were a small group and the restaurant was almost empty. A dry convenient schnitzel on fries without anything with apple spritzer as a drink and a tip... 18 €... you only do that out of necessity. It was all much better once...

We used to come at regular intervals and accepted higher prices as long as the food was tasty and the portions were reasonable. Yesterday we ordered Wiener Schnitzel with potato sticks for a whopping 29 euros and cordon bleu with pork potatoes for 24 euros. The plate with the schnitzel seemed literally empty, a tiny, thin schnitzel and a few sparse fries??!! No side dishes at all, the quantity was halved! The cordon bleu was small, the pan potatoes were a few fried potatoes. We won't be coming back, there's just nothing wrong anymore, it's a shame!

So ein schönes Ambiente, aber schreckliches Essen! Lange nicht mehr so schlecht gegessen. Schnitzel mit Pommes, aus der Friteuse, total vertrocknetes Fleisch, Pommes auch. Normale Bratwürste, furchtbarer Geschmack! Personal sehr freundlich! Aber der Koch...müsste noch etwas 'Üben'...leider!

Yesterday (4:00 p.m.), after a rainy stay in a fairytale paradise, we wanted to get something to eat with four adults, two children (4 and 5) and a small dog, and we came across the BräuStadel. We were able to park directly in a parking garage and found a wonderful spot in the BräuStadel within 2 minutes. A very nice waitress assigned us a large table. The location had a very Bavarian and modern feel. A water bowl was immediately provided for the dog. We ordered our drinks and food in no time. The food was brought to the table and distributed by robots. The children were totally welcome and were also allowed to operate the robot. The food was simply delicious. The best knuckle ever... I will gladly come again.

A great dinner after visiting the zoo. We were 4 adults and 2 small children and were totally surprised at how good the overall package was. The food was good and the service was excellent and very child friendly!

Very nice restaurant. Even though there was a live band playing, you could still have a conversation at a normal volume. The food was very tasty and the portions were very large. I stupidly ordered a soup and a salad. I would have preferred to cancel the salad when I saw the soup pot :-) However, both were extremely tasty. Everything was very lovingly prepared. The service is very attentive and quick. Certainly not the last time I've been there. Especially because there is LELLES - something that is simply too rare to drink here in Baden-Württemberg.

I had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food tasted mediocre and left me with the impression that it was not worth the money. The service... It was just OK. Nothing outstanding. The men's restroom seemed to be clean, but still there was a bad odor. The main thing that ruined the experience was the fact that I was charged 14 Euros more than I should have been. I noticed the mistake only at home, when I wondered why I paid 36 Euros for 4 beers of 0,5... On the good side - the beer tastes really great. But nevertheless, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are better places in Heidelberg. If you still decide to go here - be sure to count your bill before paying.

Great ambience, but the music didn't fit the Bavarian concept at all.

Absolutely not recommended. We have been there several times, but our last visit to this restaurant was marked by bad experiences. The quality of the food is ok, but I expect something better for the horrendous prices. To charge €26 for what appears to be (according to the waiter) pre-breaded schnitzel without any side dish or €6 for tap water is outrageous. If the service was at least excellent, I could still turn a blind eye. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The food we ordered was delivered incorrectly several times and no one even apologized or rolled their eyes after pointing it out. Very unfortunate. There are better addresses in Heidelberg.

Essen ganz O.k. Wenn man bayrisch mag wie Krustenbraten, Schweinshaxe, etc. Leider sind die Preise auf Heidelberger hohem Niveau daher ein Punkt Abzug...

Sehr leckeres Bier vom Fass. Speisen und Preise sind gut. Uns wurde bspw anstandslos ein weiterer Korb mit Brot und Brezeln zum Jausenbrett gereicht. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Der Krustenbraten mit Semmelknödel und Sauerkraut war einfach fantastisch! Ein wirklich vorzüglicher Geschmack, der meine Erwartungen übertroffen hat. Ich freue mich schon darauf, wiederzukommen und mehr von Ihren köstlichen Gerichten zu probieren.

A wonderful place to get a tasty German dish accompanied by a nice beer. Don't expect some craft beer though, only classical German styles. The signature burger was amazing!

Essen war, weil Gänsebrust zu cross u. bestimmt vorgemacht. Typisch Brauhaus+Tagesessen eben. Ansonsten schönes Lokal, gutes Bier, nette Bedienung.

Am Sonntag der 12 November gegen 16Uhr war ich alleine dort zum Kaffee trinken. Die habe ich auch bekommen aber halbvolle Tasse...und bezahlt 3,60€..daa finde ich extrem teuer für eine KAFFEE.. NIE WIEDER HIN.

Das Essen wird mithilfe eines Roboters an den Tisch gebracht und von sehr lieben Kellern verteilt. Sowohl das Essen als auch das Ambiente und der Service waren super. Das Licht war gedämpft und es lief angenehme Musik im Hintergrund. Die vegetarischen Gerichte waren auch super lecker. Das vegetarische Schnitzel ist durch die große Portion und den guten Geschmack auch sehr zu empfehlen. Es gibt zudem immer wieder besondere Abende, an denen eine Band spielt.

Das Restaurant wurde etwas zu dunkel gehalten .Speisekarte konnten wir deshalb kaum lesen.Die nette Bedienung sorgte auf unsere Bitte für helleres Licht .Das Essen wurde dann wieder bei zu dunklem Licht serviert .Hat geschmeckt. Aber bitte seid nicht zu sparsam..ich sehe lieber , was ich auf dem Teller habe... Bedienung war sehr freundlich !Spätestens im Sommer kommen wir wieder! * Wenn die Sonne scheint!

Essen war wirklich gut. Selten so gute Fritten gegessen. De Burger war genauso gut. Können wir empfehlen.

Für ein Brauhaus ist es mir zu modern eingerichtet und die Räume zu hoch. Ich fand es nicht gemütlich. Aber das Essen war sehr gut und der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Deshalb auch zu empfehlen.

Wir waren zum DTM Wochenende in Hockenheim und haben in Heidelberg übernachtet. Wir haben an beiden Tagen sehr gut im Bräustadl gegessen und wurden fast wie Stammgäste begrüßt und bedient. Sehr zu empfehlen!

I like the Bavarian food a lot!

Went to Bräustadel with friends. Ground level entryway but not ADA compliant bathroom. Food is great. Had Schnitzel and a typical German cheese and cold cuts (various kinds of prosciutto) plate. Served on a rustic board. Potato salad great 👍 Service is good by either robots Bellabot and Giobot or humans. Staff is multilingual. In and outdoor seating. Close to public transportation and parking garage since it's located on university property. Some Vegan options as well.
