We were at this restaurant last week for the first and last time. After almost 20 minutes, a waiter noticed that our party of nine still hadn't ordered any drinks. Unfortunately, all the waiters seemed overwhelmed. :( We had to wait over an hour for our food. The food was oversalted and not very tasty. The somewhat older waiter was very unfriendly and just kept complaining. You can really tell they're insolvent. We won't be back. 👍 The location itself is nicely done.

I went there once on a recommendation. Pleasantly surprised. I've been there several times since. The food is excellent, and the portions are appropriate for the price.

Great, you can always get a table. In addition to the regular menu, there's a weekly special that's quite good and balanced, in keeping with the seasons. Prices are still reasonable.

The food was very good, the staff extremely friendly and attentive, and the value for money is absolutely spot on. The location is a real eye-catcher – an old factory building, very stylishly furnished inside, with a lovely outdoor dining area. The only thing we didn't like was the parking situation – we weren't aware of this beforehand, as we were coming from far away. Unfortunately, we missed the sign indicating paid parking and drove off the property without paying. A few days later, we received a letter: a €2 parking fee plus a €45 penalty. Of course, we would have gladly paid the parking fee, especially after we had previously enjoyed food and drinks for around €65. However, I find the penalty unreasonable at this level – it seems like "rip-off of the highest order." Therefore, I would like to expressly point this out to future guests. All in all: 5 stars for food, service, and ambience –2 stars for the parking situation = 3 stars overall rating.

Beer garden with rustic furniture, seating without cushions. Expensive for the surroundings and the food on offer. Chanterelle mushrooms in cream sauce with dumplings were unimaginative in taste and expensive at €22.90. The tarte flambée with grilled vegetables and feta cheese was overpowering, with very little vegetable content, seeming more like a decoration on the tarte flambée. Overpriced at €19.00. You had to point out to the waitress that you didn't have any cutlery. The only thing that pleased me was the beer selection.

We took a "Drink & Paint" course at the brewery and then had dinner there. The food was really delicious, but unfortunately, very expensive. Added to that was the terrible service. We sat outside, and they had absolutely no interest in serving us. Whenever a waitress did pass by, she always responded very rudely: "I'll tell my colleague, you can't order anything from me." Unfortunately, it took a very long time for the colleague to arrive, and we weren't even asked if we wanted another drink. In the end, the waitress sat at a table outside in the corner, watching some videos on her phone at full volume instead of attending to the customers. Unfortunately, the good food can't make up for the very poor service; we wouldn't eat there again.

I ordered a Caesar salad at the restaurant and was very disappointed overall. The chicken served on top of the salad was excellent: perfectly cooked and truly delicious. The salad itself, however, was unacceptable. Many leaves were heavily discolored and an unappealing brown. You shouldn't serve that to guests – a salad has to be 100% fresh; anything less is unacceptable to me. Additionally, there were two whole stalks on the plate, which further reinforced the impression of a lack of care. The dressing tasted almost exclusively of mayonnaise and seemed unbalanced. The price-performance ratio was also not right: the price was significantly too high for the quality and quantity offered. Conclusion: A very disappointing experience. I find it incomprehensible that a dish with so many brown spots was even served.

Unfortunately, the currywurst was cold and too expensive for almost €16! The waiter was unfriendly. The atmosphere was great!

We went there twice within a week because we loved it. The staff was very friendly and made you feel at home. The food is also highly recommended!

A nice restaurant with friendly service, BUT the food was really bad. We ordered a burger. The meat was deep-fried and simply disgusting. For that price, I expect better quality and proper preparation. Even at Mecces, the patty is fried. Absolutely not recommended. We were here a year ago and the food was okay. Not great, but okay (we had other dishes). This was definitely our last time here.

We ate there a few days ago. Normally, I would rate the food higher if it hadn't been overly salty. As for the dish itself, it was beef roulade. The beef roulade was very well prepared, the meat was mediocre. It was tender, and there was one dumpling too much red cabbage. When the dish was served, the sauce spread all over the plate, so that everything, including the red cabbage, was swimming in it. After the first taste, it was clear that the sauce was completely oversalted. I immediately informed the server, but to no avail. It seemed to me as if the lady wasn't interested and didn't pass it on to the kitchen. My companion had a different dish, and there were no negative aspects to be found. As a restaurateur, you should take customer complaints seriously and make the best possible choice. This is the only way to ensure that customers will be happy to return or even host a large party. Incidentally, no discount was offered. The full price had to be paid.

A fairly large restaurant with a large terrace. We were there very spontaneously on a Sunday and really enjoyed our main courses. We'll have to come back for a more extensive meal. Parking is very convenient (for a fee) in a parking lot directly at the restaurant or nearby in a larger parking lot with a parking disc, or it's free on Sundays.

Six of us were in the beer garden. The service was very friendly and attentive, and our drinks arrived quickly. For food, we had shrimp pancakes, spare ribs, knuckle of pork, cheeseburger, salmon, and Rhenish Sauerbraten. The only dish that wasn't great, both in terms of presentation and quality, was definitely recommended.

Actually a nice place, but it doesn't live up to its promise! We had Wiener schnitzel with brewery fries and salad. The schnitzel seemed to have been cooked on only one side, which wasn't immediately noticeable since it sat nicely on the plate, browned side up. The taste was awful. The fries also tasted of old frying oil. The salad came from a bag, not to mention the dressing. The price for this outrageous dish was €22. The service was friendly, but overwhelmed and embarrassed by our criticism. In summary, overpriced and definitely not tasty, so never again!

Excellent Christmas dinner, there were 10 of us and everyone was thrilled. This time there are five of us - we'll be back, everything's great.

Beautiful location, and you can also sit outside. Service is friendly, nothing to complain about there. The food, however, is. Why does a salad with chicken pieces cost €26? It's a huge portion, but it's so big that it's impossible to finish it all. And they hardly let you wrap a salad. Otherwise, the food is obviously very convenience food with wildly inconsistent quality. The burger's bread/bun was dry, the patty was thin, dry, and overcooked. Even the fries were dry and tasteless. And that wasn't the first really bad dining experience there. Unfortunately, they don't put any effort into the food at all. The beer is delicious, the wines by the glass are bordering on undrinkable. The place really thrives on its beautiful location.

Review from August 8, 2025 Something's been happening at the "Brauhaus" "I came to eat – left to forget the taste." The food at prices that make you think you're dining in gourmet class – only unfortunately, you ended up in economy class. Shrimp (shelled) and spaghetti were so tough you had to cut them with a knife. Probably "refined" in the microwave for too long. The sauerbraten with gravy, dumpling, and cherry red cabbage: the meat was bone dry, one (!) dumpling was as tasteless as moist Styrofoam, and the cherry red cabbage was so disastrous that it was spat out. We left hungry – and that says it all. The service was friendly, when it came by. Price for two meals: almost €60. Beautiful location, inviting outdoor area – we'd gladly come back, but only when the chef has been replaced. Warning! Parking is no longer free! The location is wheelchair accessible. _______________________________________________________________

Unfortunately, the salad dressing was completely artificial. It tasted similar to the big M. My complaint was ignored (unfortunately, they didn't even ask if I liked it—I mentioned this without being asked when my plate was cleared away without comment). After two hours, I asked for a response from the kitchen: The waitress replied: "I don't have it yet." Even when I paid, I didn't get a proper answer. Only the other colleague apologized for her colleague. I would never eat here again. A salad for €25 or more should taste good.

A very nice, modern brewery. The place was busy, but unfortunately, there were only three waiters for the approximately 80 guests, which meant that we had to wait a long time for drinks or simple tasks like clearing tables, etc. As a result, two of the four dishes arrived at our table only lukewarm. However, the quality of the food was impeccable, and the value for money was good. I will definitely go again, perhaps the service will be better then.

The best was Günni the waiter. Fast, but he also had a lot of space to cover. His food recommendation is worth following – my cheese noodles, however, weren't that great (too dry). Suitable for all group sizes – reservations recommended!

A very nice place to stop after a hike. The food is very good and varied. The industrial style is very cozy and we really like it! But the service is particularly good. Very friendly, fast, and always ready with a good joke. That's what makes dining fun!

Reservations and advance arrangements were very straightforward. The staff was initially very courteous and customer-oriented. However, as the evening progressed, the waiter became increasingly inappropriate in his language and behavior, especially toward younger women. He seemed to ignore a reprimand, and it wasn't possible to clarify the matter with a supervisor that evening. Nevertheless, I can only rate the food and drinks, as well as the location itself, highly. We would very much like to return after a change of staff.

The food was delicious. However, there was only one server, who, despite his best efforts, simply couldn't serve all the guests as quickly as necessary.

The evening actually started off promisingly: a relaxed atmosphere, a good mood, and Günni, the waiter from Hesse, initially seemed charming and witty – perhaps a bit over the top, but still within reason. Unfortunately, things quickly deteriorated. What started as entertaining service completely spiraled out of control: Günni invited himself for a drink, inappropriately pushed himself into the spotlight, and finally overstepped all bounds when he hit on me – in front of my family – and indirectly asked if he could "stick his plug in me." This sentence was the most intrusive and disrespectful comment I've ever heard in a restaurant. It was deeply unprofessional, disgusting, and left us all stunned. But that wasn't all: At the end of the evening, Günni claimed he couldn't issue a receipt for a bill totaling over €300 – who knows how many more drinks he'd bought himself. Later, other female guests in the restaurant told me that he had also harassed them several times, even physically. He himself gave me the idea to write a review – but with the request that I write a few words of praise about him. The food was excellent, the Altbier perfectly chilled – but a single employee ruined the evening with his behavior. This man has absolutely no place in service. I sincerely hope that management takes urgent action here – otherwise, even the best cuisine won't help.

Actually a great place with excellent food... BUT... unfortunately, the quality isn't consistent! I recommended the restaurant to good friends a while ago, who subsequently reported poor and bland food. I couldn't believe it and had the same experience on my next visit. A knuckle of pork that's usually the best in the world, but the fried potatoes were barely cooked and bland. Today, the currywurst came with undercooked fries and cold coffee that had apparently been "forgotten" at the bar and only arrived lukewarm at our table upon request. Günni, the waiter, was able to save the situation with his highly professional manner and responded to the complaint in an outstandingly solution-oriented and extremely charming manner! He's the reason we'll give this golden craft another chance. Find more people like Günni!

Great atmosphere, plentiful, good food. Unfortunately, of the five staff members working outside (and more or less just running around for show), only one felt capable and responsible for taking orders! Bottom line: everything just takes a very, very long time.

My food was served almost cold. After I complained, the friendly waiter returned the food to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the food was still not warm enough after reheating. I declined the waiter's offer to reheat the plate. I was too hungry. It's a real shame; the kitchen doesn't seem to be well-organized.

We tried Brauhaus Erkrath for the first time yesterday and were completely impressed. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, but what really made the visit special was the new, incredibly friendly, attentive waiter, who spoke with a Hessian dialect. He was always there with a smile, gave us great advice, and simply made the evening enjoyable. This kind of service is unfortunately no longer a given these days – a huge compliment! We'll definitely be back.

The ambiance and service were good. The venue itself is attractive and stylish. Unfortunately, the so-called bowl wasn't a real bowl, but just an average salad from any ordinary buffet. Some tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and the extra: goat cheese. The whole thing was drenched in a simple balsamic sauce. The whole thing cost around €24 per person. Honestly, it shouldn't have cost more than ten euros.

We really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere was lovely both inside and out, and the Hessian “Günni” still knows what service is: he brings the Queen a cushion – great!!

Actually a very nice place with a great atmosphere, but unfortunately, it's also just as poorly managed. The staff changes constantly, and the chef seems to too. The food is sometimes okay, sometimes not so good. The owner is unfriendly, which is reflected in the staff turnover and thus in the quality. We used to go there regularly for a while, but we're no longer going there due to the negative trend.

Where do I begin? First of all, we had a very nice server. However, he brought us bread (because we had asked for a little more sauce with our dish) to dip. He had stolen it from the kitchen. Nice, I thought. However, I only noticed afterwards that it was listed as "bread with aioli" on our bill for €6. We definitely hadn't ordered it. The worst of it, however, was the choleric dishwasher. All we could hear was shouting and banging and the clatter of dishes that she had thrown all over the place. We really thought we were in the wrong movie. We just wanted to celebrate our son's 18th birthday, and at those prices, you can expect a little discipline from the staff. Apparently, it was normal for the waitress and nothing was done about it. The drama in the kitchen repeated itself twice, which we could clearly see from our seats. It was simply dismissed as normal. No apology for the noise or anything like that. Instead, we even paid for a dish we didn't order. Then the waiter told us that she sometimes likes to throw the dishes in the trash if you bring her too much. So, I'm sorry, but that's not normal. One thing's for sure: we definitely won't be coming back.

We were there on a Sunday for a birthday. The brewery has an incredibly beautiful and inviting atmosphere and very dedicated staff. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were perfectly adequate, in my opinion. Since it's not located on a major road, it's quiet and a great place to relax. We've already planned it as a stop on an upcoming bike tour. Simply beautiful.

A great brewery, with delicious food and a great atmosphere... Unfortunately, the atmosphere ends at the parking lot. As non-Erkrath residents, we didn't see any signs or meters indicating that they're now charging for a lunar landscape with parking management. An unbelievable rip-off! It's actually unacceptable for your customers, who aren't familiar with social media or credit cards. And so we meet the company Parkdepot, which charges €46 for 52 minutes of parking. Our next visit will likely be by bike!

The brewery is right near our apartment and offers a lovely spot by the Düssel River, so we frequent it often, especially when the weather's nice. The service has always been very good, but unfortunately, we feel like the food quality is declining. This is especially annoying because it's not exactly a cheap place. (Wine spritzer: €5.80, beer €3.60, asparagus with potatoes €23, potato pancakes €17). What's really good, in my opinion, are the waffles! They're fantastic!

Unfortunately, I didn't think the price/performance ratio was appropriate. 23 euros for a Wiener Schnitzel. Unfortunately, when I asked, they only offered hunter's sauce or gypsy sauce. Later, I read about beer sauce. That would definitely have been a tasty alternative.

## Review: Unfortunately bad experience after the visit I had recently ordered the Wiener Schnitzel from this restaurant and unfortunately suffered from food poisoning. The symptoms only appeared at night after eating, with severe stomach problems and discomfort. Other family members who ate there with me also complained of stomach pain, although not poisoning to the extent that mine did. I think it is important to share such experiences so that the restaurant checks and improves quality and hygiene. Hopefully the team acts accordingly because the food actually looked good and the ambience was pleasant. I hope for improvement and unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant at the moment.

The prices are ambitious, but unfortunately the service is less so. Unfortunately, the waitress tried to take our first drink order more quickly than we could even see the menu. From the second drink request onwards there was a huge problem - unfortunately the service seems to be very challenged even outside of peak times. The food was well-mannered, but unfortunately nothing more; and at prices that seem pretty steep for a brewery. But the parking regulations are an absolute no-go. The vehicle is recorded by camera. Only then does it become clear how payment can be made: only by GPay and credit card, no alternatives are offered. In other words: If you don't have an account with the payment service provider mentioned and are concerned about transmitting your credit card details online for a short parking space, you have a problem and, in the worst case, have to fork out the 45.00 euros that "drivers" face as a penalty. A rogue who thinks evil of it - but my impression is: This type of parking lot management, which is extremely customer-unfriendly, could also be its own (and in my opinion, off-putting) business model. Conclusion: The location is attractive, the ambience is pleasant - but as long as there are essential parameters such as good service and a satisfactory price-performance ratio, the view of the Düssel rippling past is too expensive for us to be able to recommend the brewery in Erkrath with a clear conscience - at the moment the craft seems to me to be more fool's gold than high-class.

We recently went to the brewery in Erkrath - beautifully located on the Düssel, the ambience outside is really pleasant. Unfortunately the food couldn't quite keep up. For the fairly high prices, it was rather mediocre - a lot of things looked like they came from a deep fryer, but at least everything arrived warm. The second beer took an unusually long time to come. When we asked politely, all we got was a shrug: “I wasn’t told that.” Overall, the service staff seemed quite uncoordinated - you often had the impression that no one knew exactly which table the drinks belonged to. A real minus point was the new parking lot. Previously free, you are now recorded on camera when you drive in. Only after you've parked will you see a sign telling you that you have to pay using a QR code and app - otherwise you'll be fined €45. The payment page was unknown to me, other parking apps didn't work, and only credit cards or Google Pay (also only usable with a credit card on file) were accepted. Ultimately we had to pay €1 for 1.5 hours - but the expense was unreasonable and couldn't be paid without a credit card. Bottom line: two meals, two beers, one cola – just under €70. That's too much for a brewery, especially if the service and additional costs (parking!) are not convincing. It's a shame, because the location actually has a lot of potential.

We were in this restaurant for the first time and were thrilled. As an old Erkrath boy who only comes from the Harz to visit once every 3 years, I was very surprised.

We were here for the first time today. Had also reserved in advance. We really liked the location! However, the service and food were unfortunately rather the opposite, :-( The 6th dish came out of 6 people, about 15 minutes after the others, when the first 3 had already finished their dish. This is not how you imagine a family meal to be. The taste of the schnitzel was bland, the fried potatoes were very thick and not really seasoned. There was also a salad that wasn't on the menu. One person will now say "it's great", but if it then simply has to be thrown away because it won't be eaten, I think that's a real shame. The currywurst itself was ok, the sauce was a matter of taste. Although the brewery was not even half full, the service staff was overwhelmed. Sitting on dry land while eating and then being told "there's a lot going on" is not recommended for me. I might “just” drink something in this location again, but nothing more 😞

We highly recommend the Schweinshaxe, it was about 26 euros but more than worth it. It is fried, although we prefer non fried food, it was extremely delicious.

Yep, the beer is great, the food, well...

The ambience is really successful. The menu offers something for every taste. I ordered sauerbraten. The meat was buttery soft and the red cabbage and sauce were well seasoned. Even though the restaurant was only moderately full, the service was completely lacking. Starting with a lazy greeting. Drink requests were not asked; the entire order was taken after a long wait. As the evening progressed, the waitress only came to the table after waving vigorously. My companion went to the counter twice to place the order. That doesn't work at all. I find it highly unprofessional to be almost ignored as a guest for three hours by the staff. Even if they are not skilled workers, attentiveness is a minimum requirement for working in the catering industry. The operator should pay attention to this urgently.

The two of us enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! The reception was very friendly, we were assigned a table and friendly waitresses looked after us. A knuckle that was really crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside as well as the classic Himmel und Äd followed by a classic spaghetti ice cream delighted our taste buds. We'd love to come back, if the weather permits there's a nice outdoor area!

The price/performance ratio is absolutely not right here, small portions, plates much too small and the taste is very strange for a €22 Cordon Bleu. 1-2 anchovies on the schnitzel was also a joke 😂 Plus a dry, boring salad. However, the ambience and location is very nice, and you could do a lot more with it when it comes to the food. In the end the waiter rolled his eyes and shook his head when we only tipped us €3. If the service and food had been better, I would have been willing to tip more. Not worth returning.
