The Brsuhaus Früh is always a must for anyone who visits Cologne

Too focused on mass. We personally didn't like it.

Was ok Heaven and veins were only lukewarm. The three kinds of Röggelchen were very tasty. Our Köbes was probably a bit exhausted. You don't always have a good day.

The service was deplorable. More than 10 minutes after you drank up, and sat and waved, before you got a refill. My wife had to wait 45 minutes after the rest of the party had eaten before her food arrived. The food was good. Sorry, terrible service.

The most beautiful brewery in Cologne

Went here last night with friends from Stuttgart. Waiter not particularly friendly. While serving the second beer, he knocked over two water glasses. Everything was wet. No apology - just a few napkins were brought. We had to point out to him that we would like a “substitute” for the expensive water and wanted a Kölsch for it. After he ignored it, we pointed it out to him again and then he finally deigned to “give” us a line on the lid. The people of Stuttgart wanted to try Cologne specialties. Mixed Röggelchen and Himmel und Äd. The food took forever to arrive and we often sat at the table without a drink. Food was almost cold and a small portion. Totally carelessly prepared - but crazy price. I was ashamed. 3 half röggelchen - minimally topped - under the cheese only 1g butter in the middle. I got the wrong salad. I also know other breweries in Cologne and can only advise everyone to think carefully about where they spend their money.

As always, a culinary delight! I ate a whole knuckle and half a mushroom cream schnitzel! After that, the Kölsch really tastes good. 🫢 The atmosphere is very nice, especially during carnival season.

I can highly recommend it, the food was really tasty! Of course, the service is always lively when there are many guests. As a guest, you simply have to stand over it and accept waiting times. The thing is huge and winding so hats off to the service staff! Definitely worth a visit!

Unfortunately we found ourselves eating with MICE walking around the room. I'm no longer hungry!!

Had plenty of Früh elsewhere this holiday but our first at the Brauhaus. Packed outside on a very hot May Day holiday at 11.45 am. Inside restaurant also getting busy, lots more rooms to rear. There is a proper indoor drinking area for less sunny days. A 0.2l Kölsch is 2.40€. Oddly service was very slow to start, five waiters standing chatting ( apparently on their break ) and one running round with the beer tray doing their job as well as his. He was excellent and said hello to Paulicarus and Boothroyd. There is a robot waiter inside taking empty plates back. Stayed for a few because of his excellent service. ( 5 beers is only a litre after all...so had 7) Lots of Bayern and Bremen fans in town .. suspect their womens teams are in a final here. ( The DFB Pokel)

First of all: In the end, the management personally brought me my food! All time classic. Before every tour through Cologne, we first strengthen ourselves here. Good classic brewery cuisine. For me the best brewery atmosphere of all the breweries in Cologne. Very international and open in dealings. Many Köbes therefore speak several languages, including Spanish and Italian. I like it very much. On a bachelor party at the end of April 2025, we went there for dinner and sat outside. Very humorous Köbes, who immediately fulfilled our every wish, just a great man. Only - my veal schnitzel didn't come, even though everyone in my group had already finished their (different) dishes. The Köbes recognized the problem independently, put pressure on the kitchen and continually apologized. That wasn't the case two years ago. A Halver Hahn - in Cologne rye rolls with cheese - didn't come and the Köbes didn't let me talk to him, he just kept walking past me on purpose. After the food came after 50 minutes, I wanted to have it returned and an argument broke out. But not this time! No, quite the opposite. Köbes called the management, who immediately came to the table and personally apologized to me. They then agreed on a price reduction - but after just 5 minutes This gentleman from the management personally brought the food to my table. That's what I call customer care. Everything doesn't always have to run smoothly with so many thousands of customers (from all over the world) every day - no question. But then you should be able to take responsibility for it. You do it here. I would like to come back and stay with 5 stars. Recommendation and contact point for guests from all over the world, that's the Cologne brewery atmosphere!

Very nice large brewery. You can sit in different rooms on three floors.

We firstly sat inside and ordered a bottle of water and a beer. Then a little mice ran around our feet’s which scare us very much. We requested to shift our seat to outside and surprisingly the guy instructed us to settle payment first. Yes, he “instruct” … Eventually, we seated outside and a fat waiter ordered food for us, he gained back a lot of marks as he was polite, sincere and helpful. We ordered roasted knuckles the quality was average, the skin is not crispy at all. The beef was a nightmare and just like my shoe plate. The Salad is just right…. Totally disappointed experiemc and trapped tourist with 130 year of history ! Don’t come!

I was there early on Sunday with 23 guests from China and two colleagues and we had incredible fun. The food was delicious and so was the Kölsch. 😊 But the highlight was our Köbes, Aladin. He immediately won the hearts of our guests with his open, friendly and funny nature. We'd love to come back.

Typical, rustic brewery and well attended. No place remained empty for long. We ordered soup, which was very tasty and the Kölsch was also tasty 😀 Our waiter was super friendly and attentive.

Local friends said that you must come to eat his pig's feet. In addition to pig's feet, many locals also order handmade sausages. They have a lot of seats, so no special reservation is required. Their waiters are quite old, but they are very quick. Very good. Be sure to drink their beer, it's a big selling point.

The ambience is really great. Just as you would expect. The waiters were fine, although a bit forgetful. The food is typical of a brewery - rustic but tasty.

Great atmosphere with authentic (at least what I’ve been perceiving) interior. Right next the Cathedral so it’s perfect for those visiting the cathedral. Food was a bit salty but doable with their refreshing beer. The waiter was busy running around but was really friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience delightful.

After a beautiful day at the Cologne Zoo, we were hungry and looking forward to delicious food. We were greeted very impersonally, there was no greeting at the table but we were directly asked what we wanted to drink. After the food was given up, it was there within a few minutes, unfortunately not all together. My family already started eating as they didn't want their food to get cold. When my asparagus arrived, I was very disappointed. The hollandaise looked curdled and the potatoes tasted so sulfurous that you couldn't eat them. For a price of €25, it's a disgrace. The ham was as tasteless as it was presented on the plate and the food was simply based on mass. If you value good food, you're unfortunately in the wrong place here.

There is good home cooking here and the supply of Kölsch never ends. I would only go somewhere else for breakfast, as the breakfast menu isn't actually available.

My absolute favorite place to enjoy Kölsch. I lived in Cologne for many years and know the morning inside and out. The Köbese as it should be. Enjoyed FC KÖLN's victory while drinking Kölsch. So a perfect day

Today, Easter Monday, it was around 1 p.m. in the morning. Get space immediately. A nice female “coin” took the order. Kölsch came immediately and was delicious. We ordered 2 tomato soups and 2 Stramer Max. Came to ours pretty quickly At first only 1 Max, although we would have preferred to have the soups beforehand. So that the eggs wouldn't get cold, I started eating, my wife was still waiting for her Max. Suddenly, while eating, the soups were served inappropriately. The Max was still missing. The nice waitress explained that something had probably gone wrong in the kitchen and ordered the second Max again. After about 10 minutes he finally came. Everything was very annoying but I don't think it was the waitress's fault. So we dined separately and in an unusual order. The bill was charged in full, but we still gave a decent tip. A bit of tweaking the process, even for a brewery. Then it works better.

This was my second visit after a disappointing first experience. Unfortunately, things didn’t improve. We ordered three dishes, but only two were served. The waitstaff lacked both professionalism and proactivity, and seemed upset when no tip was left. Sadly, the service still leaves much to be desired.

On a very crowded Saturday, the servers were overwhelmed and unfriendly. Hard to get their attention. Server wasn’t only rude to me, to everyone around me (including Germans), so at least I wasn’t singled out. The server overcharged me and also lied and said that their internet was down so could only accept cash. I didn’t want to push it, but it was obviously untrue. With so many Brauhauses in Cologne, don’t waste your money or time here. Go literally anywhere but here.

We loved the atmosphere and the waiter who served us. The beer was impeccable. The food came relatively quickly. We found a seat easily and didn't have to wait (in the indoor dining room - the outdoor area was packed). The food was ok.

If you had to wait longer, maybe it's because you look like Düsseldorfers. So, be happy that you got something at all.

We had made a reservation weeks ago and stated when making the reservation that we were having a bachelorette party (we didn't want to sell anything, drink tons of alcohol or behave outrageously). Now we were standing in front of the door 5 minutes before the reservation was confirmed and the answer we got was “We don’t let bachelorette parties in”. We didn't think it was a bad thing in principle, everyone can use their house rights as they wish, but it should have been communicated when making the reservation so that we could have reserved somewhere else. Really disappointing!!! I probably won't make any private reservations there either.

An impressive and historic brewery. A multitude of rooms and nooks and crannies. The dishes are excellent! The waiters are on hand all the time to serve the dishes and of course replace empty beer glasses with full ones. A must stop if you are in Cologne. Remember to book, it is often preferable.

Dem Früh geht es nur schnell bier zu verkaufen und die Kellner einfach komisch. Junggesellen Abschied ganz gechillt ohne gegrölle und ordentliches Verhalten. Aber der Kellner kam und sagte zu dem Bräutigam er sollte das Kostüm ausziehen oder wir sollen gehen. Ja die machen das weil sie Alkohol verkaufen können....weil sie wissen das sie es verkaufen können.

We didn't want to, and wanted to negotiate because someone had a birthday, and asked if we could change it. Everything was normal up to this point, but she said directly, "No!" We chose another seat, and she also said no, and one of her colleagues led us to another area, a seat that no one wanted to sit 🙃. You are a tourist and you can't do anything. In the end, we just left. No matter where you sit, you will feel uncomfortable.

It was one of the beer houses to visit in Cologne, we tried the famous Kölsch beer, it was delicious, the ambiance was nice, we tried the vienna schnitzel, it was made of veal and served with French fries, it was delicious. We also had red cabbage served hot as an appetizer, it was nice, and then there was a dessert with apples. We closed with apple pie apfelstrudel, apples sautéed with cinnamon, on a bed of sauce with milk, raisins and flaked almonds. I liked that too.

First and foremost, the food was great! Staff was lovely and great atmosphere, will come back.

Der Besuch im Früh am Dom war leider eine Enttäuschung auf ganzer Linie. Über das Ambiente lässt sich streiten – während einige vielleicht den rustikalen Stil mögen, konnte ich nichts Positives daran finden. Es war unglaublich laut, was das Gespräch mit meiner Begleiterin fast unmöglich machte. Trotz einer auffällig großen Anzahl an Personal, wurde kaum jemand gesehen, der sich um die Gäste kümmerte. Wir mussten erst nachfragen, ob wir uns selbst einen Tisch aussuchen dürften – und selbst dann war der Service eher unfreundlich. Ein weiteres Highlight war die Toilette, die fast schon als ekelhaft zu bezeichnen ist. Bereits an der Treppe lag ein unangenehmer Uringeruch in der Luft, und die Toilette selbst war kaum benutzbar. Eine Bahnhofstoilette wäre wahrlich ein Luxus dagegen. Doch das Schlimmste war das Essen. Ich hatte die gebratenen Klöße mit Zucchini-Paprika-Gemüse, das eher aus Zwiebeln als aus Zucchini und Paprika bestand. Das Gemüse schwamm in Fett und Öl, was den Geschmack völlig zerstörte, und die Klöße waren steinhart – einfach nur ungenießbar. Die Portionen waren zudem winzig, vor allem bei einem Preis von 14,50€, was schlichtweg nicht gerechtfertigt war. Alles in allem war es ein Erlebnis, das ich sicher nicht wiederholen werde. Keine Ahnung, warum das Früh am Dom so viele positive Bewertungen erhalten hat – ich werde definitiv nicht wiederkommen.
