Fantastic brewery! The pork knuckle was absolutely delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The beer was excellent and the service was very quick. As soon as my glass was empty, it was refilled. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service, I'll definitely be back.

A very nice traditional brewery with great service and delicious food.

Let's start with the positive: the ambiance is fantastic, the seating in the brewery's rooms is superb. We also managed to get a table for 20 people relatively spontaneously at the beginning of October. What we did notice negatively, however, was the service. We had to wait forever for drinks other than beer, or they never arrived. The food took forever (which was to be expected for a group of 20), but some orders were delivered incorrectly or even not at all, so two people in our group waited a total of almost two hours for their food.

⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A charming, typical German bar, away from the tourist hustle and bustle but very close to Barbarossaplatz. The service was spectacular: 10/10, waiters were 10/10. The warm, genuine hospitality is evident. The outdoor dining area is a real garden, a beautiful spot where you can enjoy a beer or a good meal in a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Although it's not in the heart of Cologne, it's an excellent alternative to enjoy good food and beer without the long lines and waits, especially if you're in the city for a trade fair at Koelnmesse. Highly recommended! 🍻

Great restaurant. Also suitable for larger groups. The menu is clear and delicious. The room is remarkable, with its abundance of green plants. It feels like you're sitting in the jungle. The service was very attentive and had funny remarks. Highly recommended.

We had an extremely pleasant evening with Micha and Simon! We stood at the front bar, drank only Hellers (of course, it's always a matter of taste, but we found them very drinkable), and had a great chat with the two of them. We'd be happy to go back!

Lovely atmosphere, we sat here for drinks before going somewhere else for dinner. Waiters were attentive and knew English. We will be back next time we're in Cologne. Reasonable prices for food and drinks.

The air conditioning is a bit too poor for the summer months. The beer is very tasty. The kitchen has room for improvement.

We were there for a bachelor party. The service, especially the waiter, was excellent. Unfortunately, the food was a bit problematic. The fries were excellent, but the side salad unfortunately had no dressing, and the schnitzels that came out of the fryer were unfortunately not good.

Lovely place a little out of the center of town but friendly and as with all Kölsch Brauhaus the beer just kept coming.

A lovely brewery with a relaxed atmosphere and very friendly service. Unfortunately, the food has declined. Large portions, but the schnitzel was dry and a bit tough. The fried potatoes were good, though. Unfortunately, the beer selection is limited to Kölsch and Wieß. The Kölsch has also declined since it's no longer brewed here.

The beer is good. Drinks are served quickly. You can skip the food here.

Unfortunately, this was the worst knuckle of pork I've ever eaten. It was completely dry, tough, and tasted like it had been microwaved. My companions didn't like their schnitzels either. Therefore, I can't recommend the food. However, the location, with its many plants, is very nice for an after-work Kölsch.

I have no idea what has happened but it is not the same Hellers as it was before. Now there are barely two beers from the tap, when there was plenty in the past, including dark beers. A limited menu would not be a problem, but the quality also dropped substantially. The staff is nice though and the place still looks nice.

We only drank the delicious Kölsch. In terms of taste, it is a very good alternative to gaffs and the like

Beer and service was good. The food was a large portion but unfortunately catastrophic. Schnitzel dark and like it came from a deep fryer, sauce that fell apart, old cucumbers... fries were good. For 20 euros it's a disgrace.

Finally something other than Kölsch and also good. Good pilsner, bitter and spicy with notes of caramel, the sweet malt is clear to taste. Brewing a good and not boring pilsner is not easy. The Wiess is also great, not as bitter as the Pils, with a slightly fruity body, nice and tasty and full of flavor thanks to the naturally cloudy. The Maibock was usually good, although not spectacular. In any case, as expected, tastier than the Kölsch. The Kölsch itself meets my expectations of a Kölsch, a very light session that cools the throat without any noticeable flavor. Habbel's Alter Edel Korn is very smooth, a clear recommendation. The beer brandy also tastes good and has a special taste. It may not be for everyone, but mine is :-) Spare Ribs, Bread Basket and Himmel & Äad can clearly be recommended. After Himmel & Äad with apple compote, I actually wanted to order a dessert, but this Cologne classic leaves you surprisingly full. The staff was friendly at all times and quick enough even when the brewery was full. Conclusion: Gladly again.

Despite all the warnings, we went there. The schnitzels are good, contrary to all expectations, and we both enjoyed the beer. Given the atmosphere, all I can say is: come on over!

The food was very tasty. The service was very friendly and on point. The atmosphere is great too. I can definitely recommend it! The star deduction is because we chose two different dishes and when we took the order the waiter said that these two dishes were not available. It would have been great if this was mentioned when the menu was issued.

Das Brauhaus ist echt schön.Wir würden auch topp bedient. Die Getränke waren auch gut. Das Essen war aber unterirdisch. Nicht nur für mich. Mein Schnitzel hat von Fett gestreift, war extrem trocken und zäh uns an 2 Stellen verbrannt oder verkohlt. Das Hähnchen ebenso extrem trocken. Auch Sparerips extrem zäh .. hier muss am Essen etwas getan werden

Never go to this BRAUHAUS again. Schnitzel worse than a fried shoe sole. Side salad next to fries and schnitzel on the same plate. Red cabbage juice muddied all the fries. The side salad on the dish is simply disgusting. Inedible for me and a disgrace to the customer.

The food was an insult to other breweries. Food was cold and without much pizzazz. The request for Tabasco was denied and salt and pepper were on the table. There was no wheat beer with or without alcohol. I was disappointed and imagined more than that.

The food here is not recommended. There is only Kölsch and Wiess

The food was really a disaster. My friend gave the inedible schnitzel straight back. My knuckle had an almost impenetrable crust and was probably in the oven for far too long. Another friend ordered kale. But it looked more like igloo creamed spinach soup. Service was nice. A BRAUHAUS that describes itself as such must actually offer more than just a beer. There weren't even a few special bottled beers on the menu.

Weihnachtsfeier 06.12.24 Bier war ok das Ambiente auch. Das Essen war leider absolut ungenügend. Schnitzel zu Dunkel dadurch trocken und zäh. Pommes schmeckten nach altem Frittenfett und waren von Öl durchtränkt. Sellerieschnitzel war ok. Pommes das gleiche. Veganer Gulasch sah aus wie eine Timatensuppe mit bissen Sellerie und Möhren drin. Laut Kollegen -1. Spareribs waren fast Schwarz und kaum zu Essen. Haxe von der Größe klasse. Leider auch viel zu lange im Ofen gewesen. 5 Punkte gibt's für die Beilagensalate, die waren super. Personal war freundlich und schnell. Alles in allem: nicht noch einmal.

Good service, delicious beer, nice ambience and good food. Predominantly young audience, but still something from all age groups. Very reliable, friendly Köbesse who expressly check in and out of shifts. Nice location.

We had reserved for 25 people and were divided into two tables. As the group gradually became smaller and people changed seats, the waiter lost track and at some point shouted at us for several minutes without any reason and accused us of making him sit on drinks because he could no longer keep track of who had how much had drunk. And this despite the fact that there were no positions open at the time and a proper tip had already been given. Outrageous. Spoiled my evening - although as a Cologne native I'm definitely used to a lot from breweries in Cologne. Really a shame. I won't come back voluntarily.

The schnitzel came so quickly, I thought it had traveled through time - straight from the microwave. In terms of taste? Like an old sneaker that has been dragged through the dust. This was definitely the worst schnitzel I have ever eaten. My colleague had better luck with his dish, but it only tasted “okay”. The beer, however, was good! It was almost enough to suppress the schnitzel trauma. The waitress was super nice – she probably knew what to expect. Conclusion: Come for the beer, leave the schnitzel in the parallel world.

It's been a long time since I've been to such a guest-friendly and, above all, child-friendly restaurant.

Compared to the breweries in the center, the quality of the food was not good. The waiter was nice, but needed help with the number of guests.

We were there with a group of 12 people and unfortunately five didn't think the food was good - not well seasoned and unimaginative. It's a shame because the location is very nice and the service is very friendly. In addition, the mirrors in the women's toilets take a lot of getting used to 😁

I went there for dinner with a few friends. The atmosphere was really nice and the Kölsch was good too. It's just a shame that the food was a real disappointment. I had the schnitzel with wild mushroom sauce, fries and a side salad. The two schnitzels were almost black and of course didn't taste great and that wasn't an isolated case because some people at our table had the schnitzel and they all looked like that. The side salad didn't come in a separate bowl as you're used to but on the plate, which of course meant that the lukewarm fries were completely soaked with the dressing and it was simply no longer edible.

Beer actually something different, not bad, but the rest was unfortunately catastrophic. The food was just greasy, no taste, just greasy, and the service was there, but they weren't nice or particularly attentive. The food was paid for, but it was also the last time you were there. Unfortunately, the waiter is not capable of criticism.

Wir waren mit 25 Leuten zum EM-Eröffnungsspiel dort. Das Bier war gut, das Essen leider richtig mies!! Keinem hat’s gut geschmeckt - Schnitzel zu dunkel und trocken, Schweinebraten aufgewärmt, Pommes versalzen, Bratkartoffeln verbrannt!! Zum Glück war wenigstens das Spiel gut!!

Not bad at all, with a modern twist. Really liked their wheat beer, but it only comes in larger glass 0.33ml, when asked for a smaller 0.20ml, waiter said that's impossible, so a bit disappointed. Overall not bad place when its quiet. As this place is in the students area and gets really busy.

We arrived Saturday evening around 9:30 p.m. the Kölsch was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. You can eat very quickly, but the red cabbage, dumplings and sauerkraut in our three dishes were completely overcooked and mushy. It must have been kept warm for a long time. It shouldn't have been served like that. Only the knuckle was tasty, although a little too salty. But overall wouldn't come back because of the quality of the food.

I was at Brauhaus Hellers today and I have to say that the service was below average. The food was also not at the level that is usual in a good brewery in Cologne. I wouldn't go there again.

Very tasty Kölsch. It's a shame that it will soon no longer be brewed. Mettbrötchen were very tasty and plentiful. The knuckle was huge and delicious. The atmosphere was great, lots of plants, great hall.

A slightly particular brewery in its environment (with tropical greenhouse-type plants) and simple. Quite long waiting times, being a pub and having been on a weekday (how long will you have to wait if you go when the place is full? I waited more than half an hour after ordering to eat). Apart from this, if you are not in a hurry, the wait is worth it (I ate Biergeschnetzeltes, a kind of pork stew, very soft meat with beer sauce, very creamy, accompanied by stewed red cabbage with apple, very good!)

Nice brewery with organic Kölsch I think it's good that Kölsch is now also available in organic quality. In my opinion a right and good step!! The restaurant looks rustic and the Köbes is friendly. We enjoyed the very tasty beer (with organic ingredients), especially the Kölsch and the Wiess (a wheat beer). There is still room for improvement when it comes to the taste of the food – and the selection of vegetarian dishes. We'd love to come back.

In any case, it's great to come here in larger groups if you're reasonably hungry! The portions are generous and the waiters are quick. There is also a whole barrel that you can order for those who are a little thirstier.

I am very disappointed with my meal here. My group and I came this evening. My food was inedible. We told our waiter we only wanted 5 beers and he brought us 11 and charged us that much. He then demanded we give him a tip after we tried saying no three times. If you are an American and want a German meal, this is not the place. We spent over $200 and it wasn't worth it. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. My friends and I chose to come here for an easy dinner because the pictures online looked so cute. Upon arriving we were sat quickly and we all enjoyed the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant but it took a turn quick when we realized our waiter was not as friendly as he seemed. He recommended we get 11 beers for 8 people. 3 of which did not want to drink. We let him know we only wanted 5 and he brought out 11 anyway. When our food came out it was all low quality and not good. The grand total came out to €190 for everyone. When I went to pay the waiter told me I needed to tip. After I said “no” 3 times I gave in and tipped him €10 bringing the total up to €200. Overall we paid €200 for disgusting food and beer we didn’t want.

Extremely disappointing for what we paid. The beer was not good and the pork was all fat. The only edible thing was the potatoes. We were pressured to pay more because we "were Americans and Americans tip." It didn't deserve a tip. It didn't even deserve to be paid for. The decor was nice. That's the only positive.

Hellers is a not-so-usual brewery. When you enter the building it has the appearance of a beer garden. Lots of plants hanging from the ceilings and solid tables. Something new. The volume is a little more moderate than in a normal brewery. You just have to get used to the “silence at a higher level”. All in all, we had a really nice evening with very nice, rustic service as usual. Standard Kölsch is delicious. It's always worth taking a look at the beer menu. Lots of special and seasonal beers. (The alt on offer is probably more of a joke. But it tastes like you're trying to drive away people from Düsseldorf (and rightly so). Unfortunately, most of the food came out of a bag. But the prices were also moderate. I would go there again and again if I ever had a chance I don't feel like being in a narrow and loud brewery (it rarely happens but people aren't getting any younger) Addendum: I was at Hellers again after years. Unfortunately I have to say the quality of the food has deteriorated even more last time. I don't expect top cuisine at the Bauhaus, but this is now really a disgrace. The prices are already suspiciously low, but for a bridal outfit that advertises its organic certified Kölsch, it is a real disgrace to use preservatives in almost every food and even flavor enhancers in some. When I asked if the Bearnaise sauce on the vegetables was homemade, I was surprised to hear a "yes". (Although with the caveat that this is only made fresh every 3 days because it lasts longer, which really disturbed me since a large part of the sauce consists of eggs) Even when I asked directly whether it was the Lukull sauce from a tetra pack, they insisted that it was made in-house. What ended up on the plate would have been an insult even in a fast food restaurant. What was offered on the menu as beer slices with colorful vegetables, mushrooms and bearnaise turned out to be spongy, gray frozen vegetables in the bottom drawer with "Lukull hollandaise with parsley (tarragon could not be found even after several attempts). The meat consisted of large, spicy pieces of meat in a disgusting ready-made sauce. The 3 points are for the ambience, the moderate beer price and the friendly, if uninformed, waitress.

Arriving alone I was looking forward to eating traditional cuisine. 1h15 wait for a plate of overcooked ribs as hard as wood, 3 fries overcooked and stuffed with salt. The bottom of a stale Coke bottle. All for 24.60 euros. The atmosphere I don't know, I was placed next to the front door, where I peeled the loaves, supposedly the restaurant was full. End of meal I go to the bathroom, the back room is half empty. I had come to Cologne for the tekno I should have left it there. I come out of there still hungry and full of meat between my teeth. No thanks.

Celebrating carnival is fine, but unfortunately there are a few points that bothered us. The toilets are simply not enough for the size and number of people. Of course, many locations have this problem, but here it is more extreme than I have ever experienced. We also found €3.90 for a Kölsch a bit excessive, especially considering that it comes from the in-house brewery. The choice of drinks was generally difficult, or there were simply none. Only Kölsch and sparkling wine, no short or long drinks. We found it a bit weak for a location of this size.

Bought extra tickets for Weiberfastnacht... Queued for 1 1/2 hours with several people, then they said no one was coming in!!! 😤... What kind of s.......! I hope people get their money back!! Rip off!!! 😡

We were here yesterday (Women's Carnival). You have to expect long waiting times in the queue, regardless of whether you have an advance ticket or not, as there are no separate queues. The stamps are very bad and some can no longer be seen after just an hour. I went outside with my friend to go to the kiosk. When we wanted to go back in, my stamp was almost completely faded and my buddy's stamp was completely gone. But the bouncer recognized my friend and so he was allowed back in. However, the man who gave the stamp didn't want to give him a new stamp and argued for ages until my friend had to pay the entrance fee of €18 again, even though the bouncer said to him that he remembered my friend and he did was in there. It's all an unnecessary power play. Really annoying. The stamp man is described as being around 35 years old and of southern origin. A little tip, next time use stamps that don't disappear immediately when they come into contact with water. At least when it's raining outside. The location is otherwise nice and the music was good too.

Carnival party for €18 entry doesn't deserve a star. ✋ 2 hours of uncontrolled queuing despite the card and inside there was only jostling for beer and long queues at the toilets. Ah and €3.80 for a 0.25er Kölsch. Bottomless. 😅

Very nice atmosphere, nice hospitality and delicious beer. Unfortunately the food was just okay. Unfortunately, the food wasn't much - for the high price. Unfortunately, we were all still hungry after eating - and we are all of normal weight.

A beautiful, rustic brewery, as you would imagine. I tried different types of beer, super tasty, the Kölsch, the Wiess and the Bockbier are recommended. Only the chairs can slowly be replaced. This is the one star 🌟 that you are missing for a perfect rating. The waiter was also super attentive and funny, like you know people in Cologne, with his heart on his tongue. Happy to come back 😊

There's no denying the quality of the beer in Cologne, its amazing, the famous kölsch beers are so well brewed and delicious, one place I love to visit on any holiday I take to Cologne is Brauerei Heller. A great looking brewery,interior is superb, a cool looking serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this brewery, its just a great brewery to unwind in. We were here on a cold and rainy December night, this place was so busy with a great atmosphere, we luckily managed to get seats near the serving bar were we ordered their helles beer these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great brewery we were in. My beer was really good, a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this brewery, it was just so good being in such a lovely brewery enjoying a quality beer and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Brauerei Heller is easy to locate along Roonstraße. Opening hours are ; Monday,closed. Tuesday to Thursday, 7pm till midnight. Sunday, closed. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
