Typical Franconian cuisine with its own brewery. Great atmosphere. Spacious dining rooms and beer garden. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and always tries to find us a table. The food is regional, seasonal, and absolutely delicious 😋. We always love coming back!

We had a very nice Christmas dinner. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was always friendly, despite the large Christmas crowds. The food was solid (we had duck with red cabbage and dumplings). Nothing spectacular, but good. Prices were very fair. The beer (dark export) was delicious – the brewery is rightly known in the region for its excellent beer. We'd gladly come back. Why four stars? For a fifth star, I felt it lacked a certain warmth, attention to detail in the decor, or that special something in the kitchen; these aspects were somewhat missing.

Despite the restaurant being completely booked, the service was efficient and the food was delicious.

The carp is expensive at €28, even for Nuremberg's catchment area, and there are better options. It comes with green salad, not endive. The service is very friendly, and the locally brewed beer is delicious.

This was our first time here. We'd heard a lot of good things beforehand, but were unfortunately disappointed. Perhaps our expectations were too high. On the positive side: the beer, the very friendly and quick service, and the fact that we weren't charged for one meal after complaining. The food was average and sometimes not hot enough. The portions were small. It's typical Middle Franconian cuisine, unfortunately without any surprises, and the price-performance ratio isn't right. Two dishes weren't available, which can happen, but this is just a snapshot of our experience. And it was, as usual, a bit noisy. We'll come back in the summer for beer without food.

There were six of us for lunch. Everything tasted great and the portions were good. They also make excellent beer. The dining room is very humid and smells strongly of food, like the kitchen.

Good food in a cozy brewery restaurant. My first visit in a long time. I must say, I was more than pleasantly surprised. The pumpkin cream soup was absolutely delicious. The roast pork shoulder was excellent, with a wonderfully crispy crackling, a generous dumpling, and a delicious gravy. The fresh side salad must be ordered separately and is highly recommended. The service is extremely quick and pleasantly friendly. A very good selection of beers; there's something for everyone, and it all tastes great. A truly successful evening with friends, excellent food, and a lovely, cozy atmosphere. I'll gladly come again...

Everything here is perfect for me – this is exactly how I imagine a true Franconian brewery inn. Good food, decent portions, and delicious beer in a charming inn with friendly staff. The brewery with its drinks shop (including draft beer) is right across the street.

The last bastion of Franconian restaurants with private rooms! You can even reserve online! Amazing! That's why it gets all the stars! The food is fantastic, the Franconian cuisine is outstanding. The beer comes from the Wiethaler brewery right across the street – it's truly regional! Dining there during the Christmas holidays is also highly recommended, but it can get quite busy and time-sensitive. However, if you plan ahead, it's perfectly fine!

At the end of October, we and our club stayed at the Wiethaler Brewery Inn after a 10-km hike. With a group of just under 40 people, we had our own room on the first floor, which worked perfectly. The service was friendly, attentive, and pleasantly present without being intrusive. The food was consistently very good—classic Franconian cuisine, robustly seasoned, freshly prepared, and in reasonable portions. Everything was reasonably priced and absolutely fine for the quality offered. The beer garden was, of course, closed at this time of year, but we enjoyed a cozy atmosphere inside. The only thing was the beer from Neunhof, which wasn't quite my cup of tea, even though it was well-crafted. Overall, a very successful visit; we'd be happy to return.

Yesterday we attended a private event with a solo entertainer at the Wiethaler Inn. The food was excellent, but unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with a very young waitress. Our group sang along with the entertainer, and then we were told we were all "insane." Maybe it wasn't their taste in music, but that's no reason to insult the guests as insane. Someone like that simply casts a bad light on the inn and the entire service staff.

We went here for dinner today for the first time in a while. We were absolutely thrilled! The pumpkin cream soup was fantastic, the liver dumpling soup with an incredible broth, the pork shoulder was crispy and tender as butter, and the pumpkin ragout with tagliatelle was delicious. The waitresses are super friendly and don't miss a single empty glass. The anniversary cellar beer is incredibly delicious, and the non-alcoholic beer is also excellent. We'll definitely be back.

We've been there for the first time in a long time. The look and feel has been quite modernized. The food used to be good, but we didn't remember it being this good. Both soups, the vegetarian noodles with pumpkin, and the Schäuerla (a kind of fried ham) were excellent. The anniversary cellar beer is very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. We must come more often.

Fantastically warm service, a very cozy atmosphere, and a good selection of traditional dishes. Reservations are recommended, especially on Sundays!

A very, very nice Franconian restaurant. The food is of a very high standard. The menu is very varied, which isn't something you often find in Franconia. The beer is also delicious. We'd be happy to come back.

I'd like to point out again that half of the menu on Good Friday was vegetarian/vegan. I wish it was always like that. The celery schnitzel with pepper sauce was absolutely excellent. The apple fritters were also excellent, and the beer at Wiethaler is always a delight.

The shoulder of pork was good, but the crust was a bit too dark/black. The potato salad with the schnitzel was not good; it was tasteless and mushy, and soft. The sauerbraten was excellent. Overall, I recommend it.

We've been coming here for 30 years. But the new, young female waitress is unfriendly to dogs, which wasn't the case before. The waitresses should work on being friendlier. The male waitress is super friendly, though.

Very nice beer garden, the dark beer is very drinkable and full-bodied. The schnitzel was excellent, the potato salad a bit bland for my taste... The waiters are really quick and very attentive! Even though the beer garden was full, there weren't long waits. I'd happily go back!

It's super quaint inside, and beautiful outside too. Very friendly service and delicious food. I had the celery schnitzel with potato salad, my husband had the Cordon Bleu with fries. To finish, we had an espresso with vanilla ice cream! We were there again today, and this time the weather was perfect. The food was also great. My husband absolutely loved the Schäuferla!

We were there shortly after the kitchen closed, but we still got something warm to eat. It was very nice. Our dog was welcome, too.

Wer hier schreibt „ bestes Schäuferle“ hat wahrscheinlich keine Ahnung von einem guten Schäuferle. Kruste war zwar braun aber steinhart und ungenießbar nicht wie beschrieben mit röscher Kruste .Reklamation beim unfreundlichen Kellner hat nichts gebracht, wurde einfach ignoriert. War vor Jahren schon mal besser hier. Preise weit überteuert fürs Frankenland. ( 1/2 l Bier 4,50€ , Roulade mit Rahmsoße (geht eigentlich gar nicht in Franken ) 21,80€ , Cordon Blue mit dicker brauner Panade . Insgesamt nix besonderes zu teuer ,nicht zu empfehlen . Wir kommen jedenfalls nicht mehr . Es gibt weit aus viel bessere und günstigere Lokale in Franken.

I first visited the Wiethaler around 1982 and was a regular for over 20 years (I don't remember how many changes of tenants there were during that time, I think it was just once). I was a real regular for a long time and brought many new guests there, and not just for the legendary spare ribs... and now, after about 5 years, I'm back again (20 years in exile in Hesse). Nothing has changed: good service, great beer!... the food not so much... It was OK, but definitely not as outstanding as it used to be. My children only reluctantly ate the roast pork/dumpling with sauce, for the first time ever... The sauce on the roulade was terrible... What surprised me was that the beer garden was hardly busy on a Saturday despite the perfect weather; I'm new to that... Well, everything changes over time... in general terms, it's probably still okay... I'm not completely up to date anymore... Prices: higher than expected.

The food is delicious. I've been there many times, and the food has always been consistently top-notch. The beer garden is fantastic in the summer. The service is incredibly fast and asks what you'd like to drink. The food never takes long, usually about 10 minutes at the most (if there's just two of you). If there are more people, it can take longer, but the food always arrives together.

A very, very nice, well-run inn with excellent food. First, I must commend the fact that it's not always easy to get a table for a large number of people on Ascension Day/Father's Day. The inn was very busy due to the holiday. However, the service was still very attentive and quick. The food was excellent. Freshly prepared and very tasty. The menu deserves special praise. It features many classic dishes with a good number of unusual options. There's something for everyone here. Definitely worth a visit.

Small beer garden area with good service and excellent food!

I'll start with the positive: the food was really good, except for the cordon bleu, which was too dark and shouldn't have been served that way, but I think that many guests means stress in the kitchen, so I turn a blind eye. We're very pleased with the many vegetarian dishes. Now for the negative: the service. Unfortunately, our tablecloth was very dirty from the previous diners, not nice for the second shift. The guests next to us arrived a bit later, but they were probably with a less stressed employee, and they had already finished eating by the time our food arrived. Every order had to be fought for with this employee, which is a shame, so coffee and dessert are canceled. You're glad when you can pay at some point. After the remodel of our regular restaurant, we're looking for something new. The menu was great, the young manager was very helpful, but if the service isn't up to scratch, it's no fun going out to eat.

The beer is great, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We got our food quickly. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was cooked in old fat and was so brown/black in places that it was bitter. We'll be back to drink and buy beer. We might give the food another chance.

The roast beef with onions was on the menu! 🙃🙂🙃 But the surprise came on the plate! Either the wrong cut of meat was chosen or it was cut incorrectly! Very stringy, stringy, definitely not worth the price they charged! And! The "onions" came from a can! In short, not recommended!

Great inn. We went on a short hike in the area and then had dinner at the inn. The Maibock is highly recommended. You can also take the beer directly in bottles.

It doesn't get any better than this! That was the most delicious Schäuferle in 50 years of life......very cozy atmosphere. The service still needs to improve a bit after the takeover, but they'll manage that. For such good food, you'd be happy to wait a little longer.

Were there yesterday and celebrated my best friend's birthday, had a Schäuferle, the meat was buttery soft, the rind was crispy and crispy as it should be, the service staff were on point and friendly, all in all a great evening again

Best sauerbraten with gingerbread sauce

The gluten-free schnitzel was breaded with egg. Unfortunately neither the meat nor the egg was seasoned. The prepared dumplings are left without a cover right next to the sink in which the dishes are pre-washed with a sharp jet of water.

We made a reservation online a few days in advance for 7 people for a Saturday at 6 p.m., which was honored despite the restaurant being full, which is a positive thing. The staff was very friendly and brought our drinks quickly. The food was very tasty and had decent, filling portions, which is why we wanted to take the leftovers with us. They offered us aluminum foil to wrap the leftover meat, which I honestly found a bit ridiculous and I would have had to pay an extra €1 for my pasta with wild mushrooms if I had wanted to have it wrapped in proper packaging. I chose the free aluminum foil. I also found it disgusting and unhygienic that the beer container in which the napkins and cutlery were placed was wet at the bottom and smelled of alcohol residue. The napkins could therefore no longer be used. Otherwise I found the ambience interesting and there were no other problems.

We have been a guest with 6 people on New Year's Eve for many years. Everyone completely satisfied. I had the veal liver with potato salad. The liver is perfect, but the potato salad doesn't go well with the liver; I would prefer mashed potatoes, hence the star less. The beer garden also invites you to linger.

Warm food throughout. The service was super friendly and from the soups to the main courses to the gingerbread pana cotta, everything was very tasty and the portions were generous. The selection was so large and appealing that we would be happy to come back. By the way, there are also various vegetarian dishes.
