The burgers are amazing and the service is great too. Definitely going back. My only criticism: The dining room could be a little bit cleaner ;-)

Basically you can't say anything against the brasserie. My schnitzel was good, as were my wife and children's dishes. Plus point: No hidden costs (at many restaurants you have to buy side dishes such as fries or salad separately) and I find the option to choose between pork and poultry, burger buns or multigrain, normal or sweet potato fries for many dishes to be very customer-friendly! Oh yes, and the prices aren't as outrageous as in many other restaurants these days.

We were there at lunchtime, not very busy. Food was good and plentiful. The service was very nice. The location is actually great, but a bit tired. We would still like to come back.

I finally had breakfast again without regretting not staying home ;-) Breakfast buffet for 12,- including coffee, tea and multi- or orange juice as much as you want. There were boiled eggs and scrambled eggs with or without diced ham. There was a cheese, sausage/salami platter, tomato mozzarella, grilled, delicious vegetables (aubergine, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms) and small salmon wraps. There was also a platter of fresh fruit (honeydew melon, pineapple, pear, apricot - everything in perfect ripeness). There were also small meatballs, pasta and potato salad, olives, butter, jam, honey, Nutella and cornflakes/oatmeal. Oh yes and pancakes. Everything was very tasty and very well prepared. Great value for money and I hope it stays that way. I would really like to come back 😀. Service very friendly!

We used to enjoy going there, but haven't for a long time now. Today we were there for brunch and all four of us thought we had never seen such a bad breakfast buffet. The selection was totally underground. There were only water rolls or bread, no wholemeal bread, no grain rolls, croissants or anything like that. No cream cheese or a special spread, no oat milk, no (tap) water, there was only this simple jam from the small packages and only strawberry and apricot, even though we were there right from the start. There were also only about 5 packets of margarine, which we took to the table because otherwise there was only butter. The waitress with the glued-on eyelashes was rather unfriendly and snotty when we asked for a refill. The toilets were now really disgusting and looked more like ratty school toilets that no one really wanted to take care of anymore. I don't think we'll go there anymore.

We went there for lunch today with a larger group. Nice ambience. Very tasty food. Not a long wait. Just go and try it out. Eating is worth it. Next time we will try the breakfast buffet.

Nice location, attentive friendly service, would be happy again

We were passing through and discovered the Basserie, which is located directly on a street. We “just” had breakfast there. They offered a small but very nice buffet, with pancakes, salmon rolls, antipasti, yogurt, scrambled eggs, various salads, meatballs... The service was very courteous and prompt. The toilets were clean. The ambience is great. There are, of course, tables and chairs outside. However, there are also metal sofas that are well padded and comfortable. If we lived nearby or drove through Giessen again, this would be our first address for a restaurant visit

I've been eating there for years and have always been satisfied, especially with the friendly staff.

Everything was actually quite ok. - the schnitzel unfortunately seemed to be a ready-made schnitzel. That was too bad. The waitress was always thinking 2 tables away. Too bad too. Although there wasn't that much going on.

The food was better there too. It tastes bland, the burger meat is soft and has no bite. The casserole wasn't seasoned well either. Unfortunately, the service was also not very helpful. I had the impression that I was interrupting when I wanted to reorder. Sorry, but I don't have to go here again in the near future.

First of all, you have to say that not only do you have to wait forever for your order, but something is also constantly being forgotten, mixed up, tipped over or dropped on the way. Until you get something to drink on a hot summer day, you can often go into the house for 30 minutes after taking the order and the food is already half eaten before you get your drink. To eat: bland taste. Nothing special, just poor quality. Outside the entrance in a menu board there are cards that are so old that they theoretically show everything on the menu at half price. I can't explain why no one has noticed this yet. The brasserie used to be good, but the current condition is no longer recommended for me.

We were there for the first time on Saturday evening. As a starter we had the currently offered tapas plate for €14. In our opinion the price is not justified at all, on the plate there were a few slices of cucumber, a tomato, two small pieces of feta, a skewer with 5 shrimps, a small bowl of olives and 3 small slices of bread, with aioli. It tasted great but would have been worth half as much. The burgers for the main course were great, large burgers, great taste, the sauces and the side dish (for us wedges) were also plentiful, absolutely fine for €15-16 with a side dish. The ambience itself is old and sparse. Service was very friendly and the food and drinks were at the table super quickly. All in all a great restaurant, we would love to come back!

Hello, we were there today for the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, I have rarely seen such an ungodly breakfast. Very nice service, nice atmosphere but the food was catastrophic. As a vegetable, a huge bowl of olives??? Packaged bread. Canned fruit (except the honeydew melon) the honey in the aro pack carelessly next to the finished pancakes. Meatballs cold from the pack. So offering something like that to someone these days borders on desperation. This has nothing to do with being a student or anything like that. The coffee is thin water. I don't know what was going on in the brasserie today, but I don't recommend this place for the essentials, namely the food.

Always satisfied so far. But on Saturday January 7th, 2017 the breakfast buffet was a disaster! The restaurant was full and the buffet was set up in the corner that was too small, as always! This is slowly but surely getting on my nerves. Waiting times to get coffee are at least 10-15 minutes. In any case, too long to eat hot coffee and scrambled eggs at the same time! Absolute impudence! There were sometimes 20-30 people in line at the buffet. For the future, the owner should think about setting up the buffet in a different place or, if there are such large crowds, perhaps a second place with a buffet. For our part, we won't do this to ourselves anymore if the placement of the buffet doesn't change! It's an imposition if you have to wait in line for 10-15 minutes or longer for a cup of coffee or an OJ!

Rude, brazen, insulting. There was once a 50's American diner in my hometown where the waitress was really rude just for fun and as part of the experience. My experience in the brasserie reminded me of this - only the service was really just rude and insulting. I was there with friends to celebrate my birthday and we had made reservations days in advance, so the waitress knew there was a group coming. The girls there were very rude and bold from the start, and very soon they became downright insulting. They stood behind us and complained before we even ordered food about how “sucky” it was that we were there. FYI, the rest of the store was empty and we were a very patient and polite group. The waitress was so rude and made our time there so unpleasant, every person in the group noticed it. So if you enjoy feeling uncomfortable and insulted, check this place out.

Good brunch breakfast, but nothing special.

Worst brunch I've ever had. Rolls only wheat rolls. Not a large selection of sausage or cheese. No yogurt or salmon, raw food very poor. Vegetable soup tasted like it came from a can. No recommendation.

When our food still wasn't delivered, we tried calling the restaurant to ask. Unfortunately the employee on the phone was extremely rude and blatantly lied to us? and even passive-aggressive. When the food finally arrived after over two hours, it was already cold and there was no apology or gesture of reparation. This restaurant is definitely not recommended.

Menus are probably not cleaned every day. The children's chair was beyond disgusting... the toilets are past their prime and they aren't clean either. Unfortunately, the very good and friendly service cannot compensate for this. It's a shame the place has potential but the love is missing.

We ordered two burgers today and took them home with us, as we often do there. The food is generally good in terms of taste and quality. When we got home we realized we had received the wrong order. It has happened occasionally in the past, but up until now we always accepted it as it usually worked without any problems. Today I called briefly to describe my problem and they promised me a call back shortly. We then received this, but they looked for the error on our part, saying that it had apparently been ordered incorrectly. We disagreed. Without any concession or service to the customer, we were refused to exchange the burgers. From my point of view, it's a shame, which means that two regular customers will probably have been lost.

We were here with a few people for late lunch on February 16th. We first asked whether there would still be something warm to eat, and we were kindly answered yes and we should find a place ourselves. We did this immediately and our orders were then kindly taken. The food was brought with a very short wait. The quality and portion size were really good. We all enjoyed it very much. We were also very satisfied with the service. We can highly recommend everything.

Maybe it also depends on the number of guests. The only thing that is annoying are the screens that constantly show music videos that don't match the music being played. There is hardly a line of sight where something doesn't flicker in the corner of your eye.

Delicious cocktails 🍸 The wrap with steak was quite tasty but the steak strips were more than fried to death, tough and sometimes hard to chew. Ordered fried vegetables without peppers, but they were probably in the finished mixture when frying and were only partially picked out. Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and cream pulled it off again

Es sollte ein super Frühstück werden. Ich war aber enttäuscht. Es war eher ein Supermarkt Frühstück.

Wir hatten reserviert und hatten das Gutscheinheft dabei. Es gab kurzfristig einen Termin und teilweise war noch die Weihnachtsdeko noch vorhanden. Das Personal war freundlich, die Wartezeit bis zum servieren des Essens war kurz. Die Portionen sind nicht klein und die Kosten sind nicht übertrieben. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich werde wiederkommen. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden.

Absolut grauenhafter Service trotz wenig Kundschaft, wir wurden heute Abend vollkommen ignoriert. Speisen lecker und Ambiente schön, Preis-Leistung in Ordnung. Trotzdem nie wieder.

Die Burger sind wirklich hervorragend und wurden sehr schnell zubereitet. Preislich auch im Rahmen. Allerdings mussten wir sehr lange warten bis die Bestellungen entgegen genommen wurden.

Das einzige was positiv ist, ist der Preis. Dementsprechend darf nicht viel erwartet werden. Der Kaffee ist durchsichtig und geschmacklos. Als die Mitarbeiterin von mir darauf angesprochen wurde, war sie unbeeindruckt und hat mich auf den kostenpflichtigen Kaffee verwiesen. Es gibt nur eine Brötchensorte und 2 Brotsorten zur Auswahl. Es wird sehr langsam nachgefüllt, sei es fehlendes Geschirr oder was vom Buffet. Die Vorlegebehälter sind defekt und sehen unrein aus. Der Boden klebt vom Vorabend. Bei der Reservierung wurden die Angaben nicht beachtet, was äußerst schade ist. Dies ist in erster Linie kein Drama, aber wenn man vor Ort noch überrascht über die Angaben angeschaut wird... naja... Gießen hat bessere Betriebe zum Brunchen im ähnlichen Preissegment.

Kann meine vorherige Bewertung nur bestätigen - unbedingt empfehlenswert. Immer wenn ich in Gießen bin, gehe ich hierhin, ob für einen Salat oder ein Fleischgericht wie auf dem Foto (die Portion war für mich allerdings zu groß). Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut, die Bedienung freundlich. Für 5 Sterne beim Essen reicht es allerdings nicht, weil auch hier wie fast überall viel Convenience dabei ist.

Ich mag das Frühstücksbuffet. Da stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis 😀

Man kann sehr gut frühstücken. Das Sitzen auf der Bank an der langen Wand ist etwas ungemütlich, weil man einsinkt. Da ist das Sitzen für ältere Leute zum Frühstück, nicht zu empfehlen. Sonst alles okay!!! 👍

Tiramisu war sehr gut. Die Gans etwas trocken. Bedienung aufmerksam, aber nicht aufdringlich. Ich fand es insgesamt gut.

Draußen ist ein schöner Biergarten. Es gibt viel Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten. Das Essen schmeckt wirklich super ! Wir sind gerne dort vorallem im Sommer. Das Restaurant (Innenbereich) ist recht klein, aber ganz gemütlich. Die Bedienungen waren immer normal freundlich. Parkplätze findet man in umliegenden Parkhäusern.

Gutes Restaurant, das Essen hat allen gut geschmeckt. Preise sind auch ok. Super nette Bedienung, aufmerksam und schnell. Die Geräuschkulisse ist allerdings etwas hoch.

Bedienung war sehr schnippisch und pampig, sodass ich direkt beim Eingangsbereich wieder kehrt machte... Ich fragte lediglich nach Frühstück, das ich sonst auch immer recht gut fand. Wer sich an Unfreundlichkeit gleich beim Eingang erfreut, kann da schon hingehen; ich jedenfalls werde dort nicht mehr einkehren. Wenn ich hungrig bin, brauch ich nicht die schlechte Laune der Bedienung ertragen. Ich bin dann zu Mr. Jones gegangen, wo ich sehr freundlich behandelt wurde und ein gutes Buffet vorfand.

Immer sehr freundliche und auch aufmerksame Bedienungen. Die Stärke der Küche sind, die ein wenig neu interpretierten, klassischen bayrischen Gerichte. Preislich mehr als ok.

Pro: Burger richtig lecker und angemessener Preis im Vergleich zu den anderen Burger in Gießen. Sehr nettes Personal. Contra: Warum denn nur 2 Sterne? In diesem Jahr (2022) 9 mal bestellt zum liefern. 5 mal davon falsche Lieferung. Man bestellt als Beilage Bratkartoffel, bekommt aber pampige Pommes. Man bestellt Süßkartoffel- Pommes, bekommt wieder die pampigen Pommes! Man bettelt mal ausnahmsweise Vegi-Burger, bekommt man zwar vegiBuger aber mit reichlich normaler Mayo und normalem Käse... *und jaaa, man kann zw. richtiger Mayo/käse und vegi-mayo/käse unterscheiden. Man bestellt größere Bestellung, wo man netterweise eine Fläche Cola gratis ausgehändigt bekommt ... zwar "dem verschenkten Gaul schaut man nicht ins Maul" aber nicht wenn das verschenkte Gaul eine schon geöffnete colaflasche ist, die aussieht als ob man schon ein Gläschen davon genommen hat. 🤦‍♂️Ohne Scherz!! Der nette Lieferant könnte es sich nicht erklären!!! Ich weiß nicht, was da so schiefläuft. Ob der chefkoch verliebt ist o. der kochhilfe oder die jenigen, die die Bestellungen aufnehmen oder die, die alles zusammen packt!!! Bestellen tun wir da jedenfalls nicht mehr, denn über 50% Fehlinhalt beim liefern spricht für sich.

Service sehr schlecht Bedienung sehr unfreundlich man müsste um Kaffee betteln,bekam diesen dann tatsächlich und es wurde gesagt man muss Kaffee dazubestellen, obwohl er ja zum Frühstück dazu gehört, ist nur komisch, das wir am Tag davor mit 10 Personen da waren,wurde der Kaffee selbstverständlich dazu gestellt, ohne Aufforderung, wir sind sehr enttäuscht über diese Unfreundlichkeit und haben auch kein Trinkgeld gegeben, was wir ansonsten immer machen.
