Brasserie Colette Tim Raue in Konstanz

I had a wonderful birthday in a great setting.

We recently visited Brasserie Colette and had a wonderful evening. The ambiance is very pleasant and stylish. The five-course menu we chose deserves special mention – the food was simply sensational. The service and atmosphere perfectly complemented the experience. We highly recommend Brasserie Colette and will gladly return.

It's a shame the previous lunch concept is no longer available; it was really excellent, especially considering the value for money. Now the lunch menu is primarily one thing: expensive. The artichoke didn't seem fresh, and the grilled pineapple, served in six small pieces on a bed of lettuce, tasted like it came from a can. The service was friendly and attentive, but we had to specifically ask for bread beforehand, even though the plates were already there.

We had a lovely evening with delicious food and felt very comfortable.

Excellent service, very good food. The steak was cooked to perfection. The shrimp are highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

Experience: Sad and cold as the water of Lake Constance in winter. The place has a rather unwelcoming atmosphere. The service was inattentive, and the food was almost awful. Tim, it's a shame you're complicit in such a debacle. Your name is on the sign at the entrance, so you should do something. If they wanted to replicate a French brasserie, they only half succeeded. Unpleasant staff and exorbitant prices, but unlike what happens in France, the food was bad, almost terrible. We were there on November 26, 2025, a group of 8 people, and the bill came to 732 euros. Artichokes: overcooked. Cannelloni: hard pasta and an excessively spicy sauce (inedible). Tartar (that's not tartare): pathetic. A hodgepodge of meat with too much onion. Tasteless. Bouillabaisse? Passable, but it was too spicy. Why??? Octopus… okay. Zander… okay. Beef Bourguignon. Excuse me, but it tasted more like goulash from a hospital cafeteria. Tough, tasteless meat. How can they make a dish like this so badly? Pathetic. Steak? Spicy again. Beef Wellington. Tasteless. The white wine wasn't chilled enough. And for a place of this caliber not to serve you water when they bring it is shameful. In short, a total disappointment. All talk and no substance.

Nicely decorated, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, though unfortunately not always on the ball. The ladies' restroom could use some updating to match the otherwise stylish ambiance. Food was excellent.

We were there for lunch today, and it was truly excellent! Friendly, attentive staff, a great little menu, and wonderful food with fantastic textures and spices – we'll definitely be back!

Update November 8, 2025 The cuisine deserves special mention: The food was excellent and fully lived up to the restaurant's reputation and quality. The dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection. A true culinary highlight! Unfortunately, the overall experience was marred by the service. The staff wasn't attentive enough. We had to wait several times to place orders, refill our drinks, or get the bill. Given the price point and the restaurant's reputation, this is a real shame and significantly disrupted the otherwise relaxed atmosphere. In conclusion: If you're looking for outstanding food, this is the place for you. However, if you're expecting a completely seamless experience with attentive and efficient service, you might be disappointed. We hope the service will be improved in the future so that the overall experience does justice to the excellent cuisine. _________________________________ A taste of France on Lake Constance! Upon entering the stylishly furnished restaurant, you immediately feel like you've stepped into a chic Parisian bistro. The service is attentive and warm, making you feel instantly welcome. The menu offers an excellent selection of French classics – from tender entrecôte to heavenly desserts like crème brûlée. The fresh ingredients and creative preparation, which give each dish a special touch, are particularly noteworthy. The wine selection is also outstanding, offering the perfect accompaniment to every meal. Another plus: The location right in the heart of Konstanz is perfect for enjoying a stroll along the lake after a delicious meal. All in all, a culinary experience of the highest caliber! I will definitely be back and highly recommend Colette Brasserie.

There were five of us, and we were all very impressed by the unique interpretation of traditional French dishes. The wine list wasn't too long, but it was well-curated. The house champagne was really good. The service was excellent and discreetly attentive. We felt very comfortable in the bistro atmosphere. The price was right.

Excellent service, excellent food, pleasant atmosphere. We initially had a small table that was very close to the kitchen and therefore not ideal. However, we were able to exchange it for another one. Thank you for the service. We will gladly come again.

Highly recommended. They really shine with flavors here. We had the Tim Raue menu with wine pairing. Superb. The service was impeccable as well. The only downside: we sat on old wooden benches, probably from railway carriages. They were very wobbly and somewhat uncomfortable.

Very cozy, great food .. service very good

The culinary quality was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed patronizing and pushy. Although the restaurant was almost empty that evening, we were assigned a table right by the entrance, which I couldn't understand and which was not changed even after requesting it. The friendly gentleman forgot our dessert. After 25 minutes, he noticed this and apologized, but didn't even offer an espresso as compensation. The restaurant was empty, with a maximum of six occupied tables, and business was quiet. There is still room for improvement here. However, in this price range, this is unacceptable.

Excellent food, onion soup was among the best I’ve tasted and the zander was delicious. Limited local wine list but what they had was lovely.

We went to dinner yesterday because we wanted to try the new menu. The service and food were excellent again. The only downside is that the benches aren't designed for comfortable sitting for long periods. They fit the style well, but they're incredibly uncomfortable.

A wonderful, modern bistro atmosphere with a feel-good feel. The staff were very kind, attentive, and friendly, and they served us and contributed greatly to the successful evening. The dishes were very well prepared; the baked oysters were beautifully presented rather than smothered in cheese. The main courses were delicious, and the dessert was a bit of a surprise in its presentation. All in all, a truly successful evening for us.

We often go to Brasserie Colette. The food was really good; we had a three-course menu for 68.00 francs. All the courses were good, and the dessert was absolutely top-notch, with a tarte framboise. The ravioli, surely homemade, were practically swimming in sauce. Rather poor to mediocre for a main course of 31 euros. The value for money isn't right here. Service was rather poor. I'm used to something different at this level. Even after the appetizer was on the table, we still had to wait for our drinks. The waitress (female) was also rather poor in her knowledge of drinks. At the end, we also ordered an espresso. Two espressos were served. The waitresses communicated very poorly, probably among themselves. My ordered drink with dinner also didn't arrive in the size I ordered. The restaurant wasn't full, so you can't really call it overcrowding. It's a shame, what the kitchen does well is then made worse by the service. Absolutely no go.

We went to Brasserie La Colette again today. Everything was excellent. Service was super attentive. Food was first-class.

Two of us went there for lunch. We had the vegan Colette 3-course menu and a vegetarian 3-course à la carte menu. Both were incredibly delicious, perfectly balanced, and spot on. The value for money is definitely spot on! The service is incredibly attentive without being intrusive, and the dining room, despite being very open, is cozy, allowing you to chat without overhearing every conversation from the next table. All in all, it was fantastic, and we'd love to come back!

Very attentive and friendly staff

Very friendly welcome, lovely atmosphere. Incredibly delicious rosé Crémant. Unfortunately, the starter arrived while we were still having our aperitifs. Why not give the guest a little more time? After I pointed it out to the waiter, I took a more leisurely approach with the next courses. We had the Wellington menu. The Moroccan prawn was delicious; I could have had a second prawn 😬 The octopus that followed was a highlight. What an explosion of flavor. Then came the fillet, which was good, but bland compared to the octopus. The dessert was another highlight. The staff was very competent. We received excellent advice on wine/sweet wine. We would come again. Then we'll have the octopus as the main course 🤗

Das Essen war sehr gut, der Hauptgang des veganen Menues für unseren Geschmack zu herbstlich. Style sehr unprätentiös mit Papiersets. Kein Angebot, offene Weine zu kosten. Einrichtung sehr dunkel. Stühle sehr unbequem. Service recht gut aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Preis/Leistung m.E. nicht ganz in der Balance. Jedoch eine gute Restaurantwahl für spezielle Anlässe!

The food was excellent—creative, delicious, and artfully presented. Each dish was a testament to the kitchen’s finesse, and the service matched the culinary experience with warmth and attentiveness throughout the evening. That said, in its commitment to channeling the look and feel of a Parisian brasserie, the restaurant may have gone a touch too far in replicating the aesthetic. While charming in style, the seating left much to be desired in terms of comfort. The classic small round tables, though authentic in theme, proved impractical—barely large enough to hold two dinner plates comfortably, let alone shared dishes or wine glasses. It’s a detail that slightly detracts from an otherwise wonderful dining experience.

The 5-course veggie menu at Colette Tim Raue was a true experience. Each course was meticulously thought out, creatively composed, and tastefully top-notch. Particularly noteworthy: the beef fillet – perfectly cooked, aromatic, tender as butter. The lettuce, as simple as it may sound, was also skillfully prepared and a taste revelation. The crowning glory was the Tarte aux Framboise – light, fruity, a dream dessert. I haven't eaten this well out in a long time. The service, ambiance, and cuisine blend here to create a thoroughly successful fine-dining experience. Absolutely recommended – we'll be back!

We have been around the world and we love good food for various budgets. If you are willing to splurge a little, go to Colette and choose the chef's selection set menu. I have a new favourite chef. He challenged my palette at times and showed me completely new dishes that I absolutely loved. These are not dishes that one can forget. Our server was very knowledgeable of the wine and helped us pair with the food and accommodated our preferences of half glasses, etc. He spoiled us and deserved the 50 euro tip and then some. I can't praise this place enough and loved everything about it. Spoil yourself for meals you won't forget in a year's time. You won't regret it. BRAVO!

I would particularly like to highlight the excellent wine pairings: each selection was perfectly matched to the respective dish and elegantly underscored the sophistication of the cuisine. We couldn't reserve a table online, but I left a message on the answering machine and was even called back. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. The bread on the side was also delicious. As is typical for a brasserie, the acoustics are a bit noisy, but that didn't bother us. I found the price/performance ratio to be reasonable and can easily imagine coming back.

The food is refined and tastes excellent, the service was great and the ambience invites you to linger. Great experience!

Unrealistic, the entrance gives a good impression. The place is divided into two rooms, one very beautiful, the second you understand that something is out of place, a bench along the entire wall and 60X60 tables like a common diner. Space is also part of good eating. Same thing with the menu, excellent to read but then the dishes don't keep their promises. The artichoke, the Russian eggs which the chef didn't understand what he wanted to convey and finally the vagyu drowned in a BBQ sauce and butter. Patience.

L’entrata da una buona impressione. Il locale è diviso in due sale, una molto bella la seconda invece, capisci che qualcosa stona. Un divano lungo tutta la parete e tavoli 60X60 come una comune tavola calda. Anche lo spazio fa parte del buon mangiare. Stessa cosa il menù, ottimo alla lettura ma poi i piatti non mantengono le promesse. Il carciofo con tre salse, banale. Le uova alla russa che non si capisce il cuoco cosa volesse trasmettere e infine la vagyu annegata in una salsa BBQ e burro. Ottimo il servizio, il pane e i cetriolini. Peccato era l’ultima sera a Costanza.

We (2 people) were warmly welcomed and escorted to our cozy seating area. Since we had a limited time frame of 2 hours available, we discussed this with the friendly waiter and he adapted our 4-course WELLINGTON menu perfectly to this schedule. We were very impressed with the food. In particular, the starter with Moroccan shrimp and the second course with pulpo were our personal highlights. The wine accompaniment was harmonious and convincingly presented. We would also like to test the window seats and the terrace so that we can take a look at the beautiful pedestrian zone. We really enjoyed the evening - thank you very much - we'll be back!

The dishes are exceptional and of a high standard. The compositions are also courageous. It is only because of this courage that I only give it 4 stars: the braver the chef, the greater the risk that a guest will not like it 100% and will therefore receive a slightly worse rating. That was the case for me too - but the restaurant invites you to form your own opinion!

The best restaurant in Konstanz. It's nice that it's open again at lunchtime

In terms of taste, this visit was an absolute experience. We looked forward to the vegan five-course menu for a long time and were not disappointed. Every single course impressed us, especially the stuffed zucchini flowers and the tart with mustard ice cream were fantastic. The service was also friendly, warm and attentive. There was a wonderful wine recommendation; In summary, we felt very comfortable. We were certainly not here for the last time.

You shouldn't go here if you're hungry. Tiny portions, not really convincing in terms of taste and absolutely outrageous in terms of price. We paid €62 per person for a vegan 3-course lunch menu and left hungry. We won't be coming back.

My absolute recommendation for vegan fine dining. It couldn't be better. Everything was perfect, from the first minute to the end.

We had a very pleasant evening at Colette Konstanz. The warm welcome and the successful start made us feel positive. We decided on a menu without wine accompaniment, but we were given very good and suitable wine suggestions. The food was excellent – ​​creative, tasteful and presented with attention to detail. However, to arrive at a 5 star rating, I see two aspects that could be improved: Quality of service over the course of the evening: While the beginning was promising, the attention of the staff noticeably decreased over time. Empty glasses were not automatically refilled and there was a frequent change in service which affected continuity. Orders were sometimes forgotten and were only brought when asked. Coziness: The tables are placed comfortably far apart, which creates a positive atmosphere. However, although the seating furniture is stylistically appropriate, it is not comfortable enough for a longer, relaxed culinary stay. Optimization here would significantly improve the overall impression. Sanitary facilities and cleanliness: The overall cleanliness was ok. The sanitary facilities didn't quite meet the standards of an upscale restaurant: the garbage baskets were overflowing and the furnishings appeared only mediocre. Overall, a lovely evening with excellent cuisine, but some room for improvement in the service and atmosphere.
