... on the way back from East Tyrol, we (four people) stopped at Bopp'sche Schmiede without registering in advance. Unfortunately everything was fully booked. We spent a waiting time having friendly conversations at the counter. The food was served to us hot on pre-heated plates. Everything freshly prepared!!! Excellent in taste. Even the side salad was beautifully prepared. Price-performance ratio top. Just like cleanliness, ambience and above all friendliness. It's a shame that it's too far away from us.

We happened to end up in the blacksmith shop while on a bike tour and sat at a table in the cozy courtyard. Nice map with a regional touch. Meat dishes, salads, vegetarian and vegan dishes. The service was very nice and attentive. The greeting from the kitchen (cauliflower shot) was sensational and our food (Hessian Rösti with hand cheese and side salad, meatloaf with onion sauce, savoy cabbage and fried potatoes) tasted excellent. Great place!

Absolutely recommended! 👍 The schnitzels here are simply incredibly delicious – tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The rest of the food was also excellent and left nothing to be desired. The service was friendly and attentive, we felt completely at home. The ambience of the restaurant also contributes to the pleasant atmosphere, so that you will be happy to linger longer. World-class passive-aggressive responses to reviews here. The large schnitzels that you see in the reviews are no longer available. Just like the radishes and cucumbers on the salad. Oh no, the owners caught me. I have never gone shopping or eaten in other restaurants (e.g. in Frankfurt) with cheaper prices and reasonable quality.

Friendly staff, great food, drinks a bit overpriced. But otherwise perfect.

We were very lucky and received a friendly welcome without a reservation because there happened to be a free table. Care, friendliness and warmth are taken seriously. The food was great, the burger was cooked to perfection, the tarte flambée was well topped, the Hessian spring rolls and the potato sausage were a hit. We will definitely visit Bopp'sche Schmiede again when we are here.

Really cool, small and rustic pearl! Went there for the first time this evening and it was really great! We arrived there at 5:00 p.m. for the opening (Sunday) and had already heard that everything would probably be full or reserved. It was actually the case that there was a sign on all the tables, but the boss made a table available to us (2 people) before the actual reservation. This was valid from 6:30 p.m. and so we had enough time to eat comfortably! Otherwise we could have sat at the counter to eat, which would have been nice too! It was a celebration! Service was great, the boss was in a good mood and very accommodating, as were his service staff. Food was really excellent. As a starter, Hessian spring rolls, very tasty (except for the blood sausage, which wasn't my favorite but was good, a matter of taste, the rest was great) and for the main course, pasta filled with green sauce-pesto and cream sauce which was outstanding and on the other hand a Hessian Handkäs' schnitzel with sauce and fried potatoes, also delicious. In short, you can go here and it tastes great! Price performance is also good. Please keep it up!

The best spare ribs I've ever eaten. The service was very friendly

Unfortunately the biggest disappointment I/we have ever experienced. We were 6 adults and one child. We have reserved for 7 people. When we wanted to put two tables together, we were bullied for the first time by the manager of the house. When another guest joined our group, we were told that we wouldn't get anything to eat because we had only reserved for 7 and not 8 people. The child didn't need any extra food, so as previously announced there would only have been 7 meals. We told the lady that too. The boss said: "It wouldn't work like that, she also has a quota. We can't just bring in another person without making a reservation for that person". The menu and cutlery were then cleared away again. We had something to drink and then left. If you don't want to make money, you're out of luck. But we will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will never enter it again. An absolute disgrace. Unfortunately, you cannot respond to your very amusing post here. Therefore here in the aftermath. You should stay in the office and not serve guests. The negative entries always refer to her person. Funny. They were mushy from the start. We just wanted to help put 2 tables together. If you don't like it, you can tell us politely. The outside area was completely empty except for three people. The gentlemen already had their food. Now to their twisted truth: •We were exactly 20 minutes early. We were told on the phone to just come over. We said that it was difficult for us to estimate because we were currently still cycling in Hanau. We have given you a rough time. •The child wouldn't have eaten anything, so the number remained. •And if you have to pay for 2 packs of anti-depressants (which you really need), then you want those 2 packs too. Just like we paid for 2 fake water that we also want. Your plastic flowers outside thanked us. They weren't even able to finish things until the end, so they went inside and weren't seen anymore. •No problem we will find a restaurant that will happily take our hard earned money. So far we have never had any problems. We do this every Sunday!!!!!! Maybe you should think about whether the job is the right one.

Very original restaurant with equally friendly staff. Food very good and very good drinks. Unfortunately, when the weather is nice, only the inner courtyard is open. But that doesn't detract from the comfort. We recommend!!!

My new reference when it comes to German cuisine, schnitzels and the like. It's no exaggeration when I say that I no longer like schnitzels elsewhere. At the weekend you will have to feel it again when you visit a traditional Frankfurt Ebbelwei Biergadde. At Boppschen Schmiede, great importance is obviously placed on quality. The food always comes out super hot, feeling like it comes straight from the pan. Everything tastes fresh and we are always thrilled with the great taste. I don't have to add any seasoning, so far there hasn't been anything that I didn't find tasty. Reservation is mandatory! Reservations are made for a maximum of 10 people. I always drink cider or water here because I don't like the beer selection. There's worse, four of us there again this evening. We're looking forward to it!

Went there for dinner today, unfortunately it wasn't as we expected, the service was nice, the boss's nose was very high up, medlar wasn't as advertised by the boss for €12 but only €4.20 per glass, that's what it was for Not even half a medlar... The food tasted ok, except for the dessert, we said that the Kaiserschmarrn was unfortunately not ok, no understanding from the boss. Thank you very much for that... apparently honest feedback is not wanted at all, since after the bill has been paid bold farewell, thank you for the chewy sweets for our 14 year old daughter. Sorry we didn't make a servant when leaving the "restaurant"?????? By the way, what we meant by making servants was that we don't have to bow when we leave... that's probably not common for them! Your service wasn't the point of criticism, as we wrote, even though she forgot a drink.... more likely it was her forceful behavior with her ignorance of criticism..... confirms her statement that Kaiserschmarrn was "ok" for you... …… speaks absolutely for your good behavior……

The positive reviews prompted us to visit. Yes, the atmosphere is very cozy. But...we waited almost an hour for the food, and that was schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes. Unfortunately the potatoes were only lukewarm, as was the asparagus... Our comment on this was answered with: I'll pass it on. .. Well, everyone has their own experiences...

Hier wird der Fan der "hessischen" Küche verwöhnt. Eröffnet wurde das Treffen mit einem gut gewürzten Amuse- Gueule aus der Küche- einem warmen Tomatencreme-Shot. Als nächstes folgte die Vorspeise- hessische Frühlingsrollen (gefüllt mit Leberwurst, Blutwurst und Sauerkraut auf Kartoffelstampf-Röschen), dazu ein südffiger Äppler. Nach dem Gaumenschmaus folgten die Hauptgänge. Diese bestanden aus dem kleinen Schmandschnitzel, dem kleinen Championschnitzel und dem normalen Handkäs-Schnitztel mit je Pommes und Beilagesalat und zu allerletzt dem Hessenrösti mit Beilagesalat. Zum Abschluss gab es einen kalten Kümmel und einen Espresso. Wir waren mit dem Service, wie auch dem Essen rundherum zufrieden. Fazit: Wir kommen gerne wieder. Tipp: Definitiv reservieren. Die Location ist nicht allzu groß. Parkplätze für 2 Std. (eingezeichnete Flächen/ Mo-Fr) gibt's auf der Straße und einen Parkplatz neben der Apotheke für 3 Std. (Mo-Fr). Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist normal.

I am always amazed by the great promotions and am determined to finally visit the Boppsche Schmiede myself.

Everything was perfect from A to Z, the boss and boss added the icing on the cake to this excellent culinary delight. The very cozy natural wooden house feeling really gets you in the mood for exactly what you want. Home cooking internationally refined at its finest. To put it briefly, "that's all you can get" starting with the crispy fried potatoes and ending with the Handkässchnitzel sauce, which just damn tastes really good like Handkäs. As it should be. So don't wait long, make a reservation and experience it. Bon appetit

Betreiber sind Systemlinge und wahrscheinlich auch Impflinge haben zu Coronazeiten alles sehr energisch umgesetzt !! Es wahr schon fast unheimlich !! Essen war aber gut !! werde allerdings mit Freunden nicht mehr dahin gehen wir können mit Menschen ohne eigenen Willen nichts anfangen !!!

We spontaneously had a morts Kohlampf and, based on the reviews, we simply called Bopps Schmiede. 😊And we were lucky. As soon as we entered the really brilliant location, we were greeted very warmly. The four of us had tarte flambée, schmandschnitzel gr. and small. and schnitzel. with melting wobbles And of course the world's best fried potatoes. We were completely satisfied. Well, it can hardly be more traditional Hessian. Incredibly beautiful ambience in what feels like a half-timbered design, everything tastes twice as good. The service is firmly in the hands of the lovely gastronomy couple who practically read your every wish from your lips. And in contrast to some Berlin restaurants, you can still get a double espresso even late at night ❤️

Leute, das Lokal muss man besuchen. Tolle Location, supi Bedienung und das Essen....*****+ 😋🍴 Es war ein rundum toller Abend. Vom Parkplatz über den Gruß aus der Küche bis zum Nachtisch!

Wir saßen sehr gemütlich, haben uns hervorragend quer durch die Speisekarte gefuttert und sind sehr sympathisch bedient worden. Toll! Sanitäbereich sehr sauber, Parkplätze an der Straße gut zu finden. Nur Barzahlung.

Unfreundliche Bedienung, die keine Manieren hat. Nie wieder !!! Nur Getränk bestellt, da wir vorher gegessen hatten und nur einen Absacker wollten.

Schönes Lokal, sehr gemütlich. Und das Essen ist wirklich toll... lecker, gute Portionen und schön angerichtet. Leider wirkte die Wirtin, die uns auch bedient hat sehr genervt und unfreundlich auf uns. Als die Kinder nach ihrem Kinderessen noch nicht satt waren wollten wir noch eine Portion Pommes nachbestellen, was abgelehnt wurde mit der Begründung " wir sind doch kein Imbiss". Das finde ich schwach und unflexibel! Preise eher hoch, aber für die Qualität der Speisen gerechtfertigt. Der Preis für das Bier eher nicht!

Dieses Lokal war ein Zufallsfund. Aufgrund der sehr guten Gesamtbewertung wurden wir neugierig und konnten auch sehr kurzfristig einen Tisch reservieren. Obwohl wir auf Outdoortour in " Räuberzivil" erschienen, wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen und bedient. Zunächst gab es ein Süppchen als Gruß aus der Küche, welches schon sehr gut mundete. Der vorab servierte Beilagensalat mit hessischem Schmanddressing und gerösteten Kernen war knackig frisch und warf ein vielversprechendes Licht auf unsere Hauptspeisen, die uns nicht enttäuschten: Knobischnitzel und Amazonasschnitzel mit grüner Pfeffersauce schmeckten hervorragend, die röschen Bratkartoffeln begeisterten uns. Obwohl die Portionen reichlich waren, passte nach einem langen Tag noch ein Desert. Unsere Wahl fiel auf das Vanilleeis mit Amarena - Kirschsauce! Sehr köstlich! Die anschließende Rechnung fanden wir moderat! Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen im Glas des Genusses war eine sehr laute Männertruppe, die sich in dieses urig - gemütliche Restaurant " verirrt" hatte und dort vollkommen fehl am Platz war. Ich möchte betonen, dass der Wirt dafür nichts kann und dies wohl ein unglücklicher Ausnahmezustand war. Die Inhaberin reagierte sehr souverän auf die Ruhestörung. Als diese Gäste gegangen waren, herrschte eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Insgesamt ist dieses kleine Restaurant sehr zu empfehlen. Bei Gelegenheit besuchen wir dieses kleine, gemütliche Lokal sehr gerne wieder!

Wir waren im Ort und entdeckten auf Google dieses Restaurant. Um 19 Uhr konnten wir reservieren. Wir bekamen ein Tisch mitten im tosenden Ozean. Diese Insel bzw. Tisch war eine Oase. Mit einem kleinen Monitor, welches ein Kaminfeuer darstellte . Davon lag Holz. Ein toller Tisch! Danke! Im Vorfeld gab's den Gruß aus der Küche. War lecker! Der Salat war auch sehr gut. Wir hatten das Amazonas- Schnitzel und das Knoblauch-Schnitzel. Beides mit Bratkartoffeln. Und die waren richtig gut. Schnitzel waren auch top. Zum Nachtisch bestellten wir Eis. Ich hab in manch richtiger Eisdiele schon weniger gutes Eis gehabt. Das hier schmeckte so schön nach Marzipan. Mega!. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Schönes Ambiente und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Die Schnitzel waren überragend und es gab aufs Haus zur Vorspeise ein kleine Suppe die auch sehr lecker war. Kann einen Besuch bei der Boppschen Schmiede jedem empfehlen. Selten einen so guten Abend gehabt.

Die Schmiede ist eine kleine Schatztruhe, jeder der in der Gegend ist sollte mal vorbei schauen, Super nettes freundliches Team und Atmosphäre, man fühlt sich als sozusagen " Fremder " sofort wohl und aufgenommen. Essen Super lecker und reichlich, also immer wieder gerne .

Sehr gutes Essen, schönes Ambiente, faire Preise, Bedienung sehr freundlich. Der Rösti mit Champions ist sehr lecker. Außerdem gibt's auch Spiele im Restaurant. "Hannebambel" ist sehr zu empfehlen! Kommen gern wieder.

Wir sind heute durch Zufall ohne Reservierung hier gelandet. Wir wurden mit unseren zwei Chihuahus super freundlich empfangen und bedient. Das Restaurant ist sehr Kinder- und Hunde freundlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker und meine Handkäsesauce zum Schnizel und die Bratkartoffeln waren erstklassig. Die Schmiede können wir somit jederzeit weiter empfehlen und werden selbstverständlich auch selbst wieder hierher kommen. Fotos haben wir leider keine, die werden aber sicher noch h nachgeliefert.

Urig eingerichtetes, nettes, kleines Lokal. Überschaubare Speisekarte mit leckeren, typisch hessisch angehauchten Gerichten. Egal was man isst, man wird nicht enttäuscht. Großes Lob an die Küche! Das Personal darf dabei natürlich auch nicht vergessen werden; flink und supernett, eben auch, typisch hessisch - unser Sohn bezeichnete es einfach als "mega" ;)) Wirklich empfehlenswert

This restaurant was recommended to me by a local and I can't say enough how wonderful the food and atmosphere was. Very quaint indoor area and an outside patio area (although tables were not available outdoors during the time we were there). The Wiener schnitzel was wunderbar! Salad was fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing. I also sampled the vegetable soup and it was superb! Great place to have a beer and schnitzel -- although the menu is filled with other items to choose from!

Wir hatten zum Silvesterabend Haxe und Schnitzel bestellt und abgeholt. Alles war super und auch die Haut der Haxe war noch knusprig. Die Portionsgrößen waren mehr als ausreichend und das wichtigste, es war sehr sehr lecker.

Sehr schönes, authentisches Ambiente! Dazu eine sehr freundliche, kompetente und schnelle Crew. Das Essen-Haxe - war dem Oktoberfest geschuldet und sehr, sehr lecker: die Kruste wirklich resch und das Fleisch trotzdem saftig. Das kriegt nicht jeder Koch hin. Die Biersauce war sehr lecker und hausgemacht. Der Kaiserschmarren ein Gedicht! Ich habe mich auch als Einzelperson an einem Sonntag sehr willkommen gefühlt obwohl das Lokal voll war. Ich komme gern und bestimmt öfter wieder!
