Bootshaus Wetzlar in Wetzlar

Gutes Essen und sehr zuvorkommender Service.Wir haben uns 2 x während eines Kurzurlaubs sehr wohl gefühlt. Weiter so Bootshaus !!

We've been to the Boathouse several times for a variety of occasions and have always been very satisfied. The owners are extremely accommodating, the staff friendly, helpful, and competent, and special requests are readily accommodated. The food met our expectations, and alternatives are offered if something isn't available. The price/performance ratio is always right. We'd be happy to return.

Very attentive staff despite being busy.

Unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible. The waiters were sometimes incredibly unfriendly, very annoyed and unable to take orders adequately. Things were missing from more than half of the dishes ordered (several side salads, grilled vegetables and even the shrimp on the fish platter, which only consists of 3 types of fish). Drink orders sometimes had to be placed 3-4 times before they came. When we were approached about the lack of side dishes, we were offered hot drinks to compensate. Since we didn't actually want hot drinks, but preferred a dessert, we asked if we could agree on this, but this was bluntly rejected. The circumstances were explained with new staff in the kitchen - sorry, but if you don't know the dishes on offer, you just have to look at the menu, especially given the high prices. For me there is no relationship between price and performance. In addition, on a Saturday lunchtime, some dishes that were on the menu were no longer offered because they were out (e.g. Jägerschnitzel, goulash soup).

It is always a place to relax. The cake was delicious, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was great.

Very good price/performance ratio. The food was tasty and the portions weren't too small. Service was very nice. It's beautifully located on the Lahn. When the weather is good you can sit outside on the terrace. Access to the road is a bit difficult to see. Street itself very narrow. However, there is a parking space available.

Es war wie immer sehr angenehm, sowohl von der gemütlichen Atmosphäre im Wintergarten als auch von Seiten des freundlichen und aufmerksamen Personals her. Das Essen war wieder hervorragend und allen haben etwas Passendes aus der Weihnachtskarte gefunden.

We were there from work, everything was right from the service, food and ambience. I can only recommend it =)

The roulades were completely dried out and black on one side. The staff was super nice and hard working. The toilet is below every level ❗

We booked a table for two people that evening. We were immediately assigned the “most beautiful table” as a couple and my schnitzel was made for me without breading. Very nice service. Gladly again

It was great as always. It was the first Christmas party this year and there were 9 of us. The food was fantastic for everyone, the service was extremely friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was cozy/modern. I just love coming back again and again, whether in summer or winter

My birthday party in this location and with this great service, again at any time. My guests and I enjoyed our time at the Gießen boathouse.

We had a celebration (approx. 40 people). Sat in the hall upstairs, with a great view of the Lahn. Everything was perfect! Every single guest was very satisfied with the overall package (ambience, view, food and service). Always my pleasure! Only recommended. The next celebration will take place there again.

We were there around 4 p.m. It was quite full because of the good weather. We each ordered Jägerschnitzel. The food took an average time. When the schnitzel came, we were surprised at first because instead of the fries that were on the menu there were potato slices that I didn't like The schnitzels were okay but not really good either, the sauce was a bit little. What I didn't like were the individually packaged mayonnaise and ketchup, which I just find unprofessional and honorable in the category of fries.... that's how I would classify the schnitzel too .lg Julian

Klasse Restaurant mit sehr nettem und aufmerksamen Service und hervorragenden und sehr leckeren Speisen. Wir hatten gegrillten Calmar und Muscheln - vorzüglich und top im Geschmack. Wer in Wetzlar ist und einen tollen Abend mit bestem Essen verbringen mag, sollte ins Bootshaus gehen.

A very nice, modern restaurant. Friendly, attentive staff. The food was delicious, I had the boathouse burger. The menu is clear, vegetarian dishes are also on the menu. Not cheap, but still affordable. A dream in summer, right on the Lahn. We'd love to come back! Parking spaces are available.

Here you can experience the complete enjoyment of Gießen and the Lahn. Fantastically beautiful location, plus a perfectly selected ambience from the restaurant. The food was close to perfect (we had the appetizer platter for 2, fish platter for 2, chocolate souffle with pistachio ice cream) and beautifully presented. Finally a restaurant where the pictures of the food match reality. Just awesome. Prices are completely okay. We were also recommended drinks to go with the meal, an Italian apero (non-alcoholic), that was amazing. And the big highlight is the homemade lemonade (see picture), which can be packed with Bionade or Coca-Cola etc. The service was also not standard, you were always spoken to at the right time. They always knew exactly when to be there and when not to be there. Not like in other restaurants, where you are spoken to with your mouth full or with your mouth on the glass. It was the perfect degree, not overpowering and not absent either. Even though you had a wedding party there today. Brutally good service! To round things off there was a very, very good Americano espresso (as an Italian I can judge that ;-)) Meanwhile, the rowing team went to the water, less than 2 meters away from us. What a feeling. So conclusion: As a Giessen mud-biter born in the 90s, I can only say, go there and experience it for yourself. Grade 1 with *

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy it so much there. The breading on the calamari rings wasn't crispy at all, and the fries were barely seasoned. The bruschetta bread was totally wobbly and the tomatoes on it were ice cold. The noodles in the pasta dishes were too salty. Won't go there anymore.

Today I went to dinner at the boathouse in Giessen. The dish I chose was Bellschuh with roasted potatoes and onion sauce. The meatloaf with roasted potatoes and onion sauce was very good. Likewise the salad served with it. We sat outside with a clear view of the Lahn. The staff is very friendly and not intrusive. The prices for the food are a little more expensive but correspond to the large portions. What I find overpriced are the prices for drinks. A beer for 5.40 and a 0.2 liter. Soft drink for 3.30 is too expensive in my opinion. Therefore only 4 stars.

In wonderful summer weather, we were able to end our mother's birthday with a very delicious dinner. I personally had the curry bowl and loved it. Finally a dish full of vegetables. But the veggie and classic burgers, as well as the schnitzel and the cool fries were also very well received. The dishes were wonderfully presented. The service was top notch, fast and very nice and everything was handled with care. You can tell that people enjoy their job. The trimmings are also really great. The service gets a small deduction from me because I mentioned my birthday when making the reservation, but there was no congratulation and there were no candles or flowers on the table. It's the little things that make an evening perfect.

Beautiful location with a large, mostly covered outdoor area, located directly on the water... varied menu with vegetarian dishes among other things... Four of us decided to go there at short notice and were served quickly and nicely. The food was consistently delicious, the prices are rather cheap.... a clear recommendation to stop by and come back 👍😋

Simply a nice place to eat and drink and unwind for a while.

Unfortunately, only the wasps ensured that we didn't feel 100 percent comfortable. Here I would like appropriate precautions for the outdoor area. There are certainly enough devices on the market that could provide some relief. Otherwise, it is always a pleasure to stay in the boathouse in Giessen.

Very nice restaurant in a beautiful location directly on the Lahn. It's very nice to sit outside, we've never been inside, which is a destination we like to go to in spring and summer 😀 We found the service to be very attentive and friendly, the food came very quickly, but there wasn't much going on when we were there. Food very good. Vegetarian and gluten-free, like everywhere else, a bit difficult and limited, but here again praise goes to the service, who was able to provide competent information and responded in an uncomplicated manner ("no problem, I'll pass it on, we'll do it that way"). Prices aren't exactly cheap, but they're absolutely reasonable for what you get. Around €60 for 2 people with main courses, drinks and coffee (2024), which is what you have to expect if you want to eat well. Reasonable in terms of price-performance.

We were there for the second time. The location is nice, you sit right on the Lahn and there's enough space so it's not too crowded to linger there. We only ate fries with nuggets there, where unfortunately the fries arrived unseasoned for the second time & so I can't say much about the food yet. The employees are friendly in terms of speed, still a work in progress 😅 The location is quiet and away from the city

Very nice boat trip. Afterwards ate on site. Phenomenal bruschetta but the Viennese style schnitzel... well, it could definitely be better and, above all, more tender. Otherwise good service

Sat in the beer garden and had a great evening! The guys in the kiosk are very nice and the light is on tap. Also a great place to watch the European Championship games 👍🏼👍🏼

Beautiful place on the Lahn, relaxed guests, summer feeling included. Service was good, food was top. We had a burger and the curry bowl (rice not overcooked, vegetables crispy, spicy but not too spicy, food warm)

Atmosphere was good, but unfortunately the food wasn't. If you want to have a nice night out, this is the wrong place for you. Recession here refers to the schnitzel. Addendum: I gave the boathouse another chance and this time I was surprised with even worse food. The minced steak (Hessian version) is also not recommended. I have to say it was the worst I've ever had.

I invited my wife to the boathouse for their 20th wedding anniversary. We were ceremoniously welcomed and pampered. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating. Even my external flower order was received and brought to the table by the waitress. The food was very tasty and the wine was exquisite and served cool! An all-round great evening by the water!

Last time the asparagus was a bit firm, but so far everything has been super tasty. The ambience is simply great. You can really enjoy your food right on the Lahn. I always enjoy going there.

little respect for people. I came with my husband to drink coffee and beer. we sat down at the table. After 10 the waitress came and asked to leave, because in this restaurant you can sit if you order not only drinks but also food. She didn't apologize and asked us to leave. that is respectful. We will not come to this place again

A really beautiful beer garden with a wonderful view of the Lahn. There were three of us and we shared the “Hessian tapas”. Since the bread was very dry and the little things served didn't excite us (which also led to the points being deducted), we found the burger and the shrimp pan very tasty. The service was very friendly. We'll be back!

What could be nicer than sitting on the Lahn and eating and drinking something good in the bright sunshine. You can't ask for more.

It's really nice to sit there and, especially in summer, right on the Lahn. Really great for a leisurely drink. But I didn't think the food was that good or fresh and it was too expensive.

Meine Frau und ich waren heute 15.05. zum Mittagessen im Bootshaus in Wetzlar unseren Hochzeitstag zu zweit verbringen. Das einzige was uns leid tut ist das wir zu weit von Wetzlar entfernt wohnen um hier öfter zu essen. Der Service und das Essen waren absolut super. Das Essen war perfekt und der Service von Anfang bis Ende sehr professionell. Danke für einen schönen Aufenthalt. Hoffentlich bis bald mal wieder.

Waren heute am Muttertag dort, haben last-minute noch einen Tisch für sechs bekommen. Wunderschöne Lage, direkt an der Lahn, große Terrasse mit ausreichend Schatten. Leider darf man dort rauchen, daher ein Stern weniger. Dies wird aber von der Qualität der Speisen & Getränke sowie dem super organisierten, sehr aufmerksamen und überaus freundlichen Servus mehr als ausgeglichen. Wirklich ein tolles Restaurant, wir kommen gerne wieder!

It was very cold inside, so we had to eat with jackets on. Espresso was lukewarm, schnitzel was fried frozen goods, potatoes were not freshly cooked and were already older, fries were lukewarm, the veggie burger was dry - all in all, unfortunately not recommended. What should be highlighted is the very pleasant service.

Very good food. Ate grilled sea bream with asparagus. The green asparagus was great, the white asparagus was a bit soft, but delicious potatoes, great sea bream.

When the weather is good you can sit outside, right on the Lahn. But the ambience in the interior is also appealing. The service is quick and courteous. Special requests are implemented without any problems. The food was served really hot and was very tasty. Not exactly cheap in price, but definitely reasonable. We'd love to come back. I especially like the lasagna with salmon and spinach.

Nice restaurant with good food and friendly service. Ideal for stopping off after a bike tour around the Lahn. You can enjoy the sunset from here in the summer days.
