Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal im Ludwigs, um ein paar Cocktails zu trinken, und waren begeistert. Die Atmosphäre ist unglaublich gemütlich und einladend. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns über unseren Sitzplatz direkt auf der Brücke , das macht den Besuch wirklich einzigartig. Das besondere Ambiente des Altbaus verleiht der Bar und dem Restaurant einen ganz besonderen Charme. Vor allem am Abend sorgt die stilvolle Beleuchtung mit den Lampen für eine wunderschöne Stimmung. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, und wir mussten nicht lange auf unsere Getränke warten. Auch ein Blick in die Speisekarte hat uns neugierig gemacht und definitiv Lust auf einen weiteren Besuch geweckt. Klare Empfehlung ,wir kommen gerne wieder. Bis zum nächsten Mal! 🍹😊

Ein sehr gemütliches Café mit interessanter Einrichtung und köstlicher Küche. Ich kann einen Besuch nur empfehlen.

Das Essen war lecker. Insbesondere das in Fladenbrot eingewickelte Lammhackfleisch war so zart und schmackhaft gewürzt. Eine absolute Empfehlung. Und das Künefe ist mein neues Lieblingsdessert.

Türkisches Essen der gehobenen Klasse. Sehr lecker! Das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr schön. Man sitzt in einem Fachwerkhaus, oder draußen im Biergarten.

Es war früher mal viel gemütlicher (Zehntscheune). Jetzt Massenabfertigung, sehr laut, Kantinen-Flair. Essen sehr gut, Preise richtig heftig.

Sehr gute Küche, nettes Personal, Tisch muss man aber einen Tag vorher Reservieren, spricht aber auch nur für Ludwig's!

Ich war gestern das erste Mal im Ludwigs essen. Der Besitzer und die Bedienung sind äußerst freundlich, der Service war top. Es gibt eine sehr gute Auswahl an verschiedenen Fleischgerichten und Beilagen, aber auch für Vegetarier etc. gibt es eine gute Auswahl - ich hatte einen gemischten Grillteller. Lamm, Rind und Pute. Alles sehr gut gewürzt und kein Fleisch aus dem Großhandel, sondern von regionalen Metzgerbetrieben. Die Qualität schmeckt man! Auch das Brot war sehr frisch. Das Ambiente ist außerordentlich schön - ein altes Fachwerkshaus, welches sehr stilvoll renoviert ist. Hier kann man gemütlich sitzen - vor allem ist genug Platz zwischen den einzelnen Tischen, so dass man sich trotz vieler Plätze in Ruhe unterhalten kann. Restaurants dieser Art findet man nicht mehr oft. Klare Empfehlung, ich komme gerne wieder!

Wir haben das Ludwigs zum zweiten Mal besucht und wurden erneut nicht enttäuscht. Man begrüßte uns am Eingang sehr sehr freundlich und der reservierte Tisch war schnell gefunden. Übrigens kann man direkt am Eingang durch eine große Scheibe direkt in die Küche schauen, um so dem Koch bei der Arbeit zuzusehen. Der Kellner nahm unsere Bestellung auf, hatte eine Empfehlung, die nicht auf der Speisekarte stand und war während unseres Besuches stets sehr aufmerksam und charmant. Das gilt für das komplette Personal im Restaurant. Das bestellte Essen (Grillteller und gegrillter Lachs) war sehr lecker und die Teller reich gefüllt. Gehobene Küche zu einem ordentlichen Preis. Wer hier über den Preis meckert, hat etwas falsch verstanden. Im Preis inbegriffen ist nicht nur das Essen, sondern auch der absolut perfekte Service. Mehr geht nicht! Ein sehr gelungener Abend. Unbedingt einen Tisch reservieren!

Super Location! Ein durchaus einmaliges Ambiente. Durch die räumliche Atmosphäre lässt sich das Essen gleich viel besser schmecken! Die Gastgeber und das Personal sind äußerst aufmerksam und super freundlich! Danke für den gemütlichen Abend bei euch!

Das Essen und der Service waren ganz gut. Aber im Lokal ist es super laut. Man kann sich kaum unterhalten. Die Tür steht dauerhaft offen, wodurch es auch zu kalt ist.

Very good place in Wetzlar Had salmon 🍣 with vegetables 🍆 without bell peppers 🫑 and potatoes. Superbly prepared, beautifully served, and incredibly delicious. Service was very attentive and friendly. Great evening, thanks to Michael. Great value for money 👍. I'd gladly go again.

The best upscale Turkish restaurant in Wetzlar. 1. Food: Whether meat, fish, or veggies – everything is fresh and delicious. Definitely try the fries!!! The side dishes could be a bit more varied – not everyone tolerates peppers (grilled with the skin on), garlic, or onion salad, even though they're tasty. But usually, the requisite raki is on the house 😉. Unfortunately, I also loved the oriental dessert, so I still need a Planters Punch afterward 😊 In any case, it was always very tasty, pleasant, and cheerful.

We were passing through Wetzlar and were hungry, and thank goodness we stumbled upon this restaurant. The appetizer was so delicious, and the cheese sauce was delicious. The main courses were also all delicious, fresh, and perfectly grilled. We had a great seat outside on the terrace. All the waiters were very friendly, and the chef was also very attentive. We highly recommend it!

Three of us went to Ludwigs for dinner. Despite the menu being very meaty (I'm a vegetarian), I found a delicious alternative for myself. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating.

Very delicious food, and the portions are absolutely filling. It may seem small at first, but we (11 people) couldn't eat dessert. The service and owner were very friendly, and we were always served promptly. You have to be aware that the prices are rather high. Not for those on a tight budget.

A wonderful, beautiful, family-run restaurant. A great owner with a superb team. The food is freshly prepared and delicious, accompanied by a delicious wine or a cool cocktail. It's especially nice in the summer on the bridge :-) We'll be back.

Even though the restaurant was fully booked and completely reserved, we (two) were still able to get a table. The food was excellent, the quality was top-notch, and the portions were very generous. Anyone who isn't full and satisfied is a chronic complainer! The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We'll definitely be coming back here from the Sauerland region just for the location!

This would not have been my first choice for a fine dining restaurant had our German friends not treated us to dinner here. As another reviewer mentioned, the prices are sky high. But the food was delicious, the ambience very warm and cozy, and the waiter/waitress very attentive. Come here if you want to splurge on a romantic date.

Went there yesterday and then later had two requests for a place rejected. We couldn't sit outside on the terrace, that was understandable, but then after we ordered we were asked to go to another table because the other one was supposedly reserved. We were then transferred from table of four to table of four. We found the behavior somewhat rude, as at this time of day it was unlikely that anyone else would be coming, especially since it didn't make any difference to the place.

Unfortunately, I can't make it easy for myself when it comes to evaluating our experience here. Food: Fish offer on the weekend, the taste was very good, but the portion was relatively small for the price. The drinks (orange juice and water) were also prohibitively expensive. The service is a problem factor: You order on a day with normal occupancy and still have to wait an hour for your food and drink, while other guests have already received their food and even paid in the same period of time. Honesty: The boss talked to us about the fish offer at the weekend, where there would be a salad with it. When we asked about the price of the whole thing, which wasn't listed anywhere, there was no answer at all. In the end, the small salad was counted as a full side dish, resulting in an inflated price of 70 euros for two people. It wasn't transparent and you felt ripped off. The superficial friendliness and the ambience do not make up for this. Therefore only 1/5.

We ate here for the first time today. Definitely not for the last time. We found the food to be excellent. A big compliment and thank you to the chef. The service was unobtrusive but attentive and very friendly. You shouldn't compare the prices with the “döner kebab shop next door”. These are two different worlds. There is excellent quality here at fair prices. And the portions are quite filling. Absolute recommendation.

Nice restaurant. Nicely designed and cozy. Staff nice. What isn't right, however, is the price/performance ratio. Charging €16 for a starter plate (5 dips, some cucumber/tomato, 4-5 olives, some cheese and bread) is already a lot. Elsewhere (at other Turkish restaurants) you get 3 dips with bread for free……… the portion was ok. But I think the lamb isn't grilled well, but that's probably a matter of taste.

This is a difficult assessment. Why? The food tastes really good and the service is great. That's really positive! The ambience is really nice too. However, I can only give it 3 stars because it doesn't match the price/performance ratio. You won't get full from the main courses here. A plate of grilled vegetables consists of half a potato and 1 pepper thinly sliced ​​and dipped in the middle. That's very little. Köfte are 5-6 small balls. The feta cheese is a quarter of feta with half a beefsteak tomato. Unfortunately the chairs are extremely uncomfortable and that doesn't fit either.

The Ludwigs stands out with its unique ambience in Wetzlar's old town. The boss and the staff attach great importance to hospitality and a pleasant atmosphere. The food is of very high quality and the price/performance ratio is top. I can highly recommend No.22/23 and 24 as they are classics of Turkish cuisine. After the food, a detailed cocktail menu awaits you, which can round off a perfect evening. All in all, I really enjoy coming back to Ludwigs. One of the best addresses in Wetzlar.

We had our 1989 reunion from our training at Leitz here with 15 people. The supply of food and drinks worked flawlessly throughout the evening. Everyone enjoyed the food very much. Very nice and attentive service. We'd love to come back.

Saturday evening, five of us spontaneously came to Ludwig's restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and served very friendly by every single member of staff during our stay. Everyone enjoyed the food very much. We felt completely at home!!! Highly recommended!!

Great restaurant. Spacious inside but still very comfortable. The terrace with a view of the Avignon complex is beautiful, and those who like it airy can sit in the beautiful transition above the street. The food is fantastic. Meat lovers will get their money's worth here, while those who prefer vegetarian options will find a huge selection of incredibly delicious dishes on the menu. The owner and all the staff are very friendly and attentive. What more could you want? Absolutely recommended.

We received a very friendly welcome even without a reservation, the food came promptly and was incredibly tasty, as were the cocktails we ordered. What is particularly important here is the service. We sat upstairs, basically in the converted attic. You first have to earn your food by climbing stairs, but it's completely worth it. The ambience is very pleasant and beautifully designed. The service staff is really top: very friendly, courteous, helpful. The grill plate offers different types of meat in sufficient quantities, great meat quality, tender and juicy. Reorders are also possible and will be accepted and implemented in a friendly manner. The Aperol is also highly recommended, good mixing ratio. The baked potato with salad also tastes good, fresh ingredients and a good quantity.

For us, Ludwig's is like an institution - a place that has been more than just a bar in our city for decades: the owner-run restaurant feels like a lively meeting place in the middle of the old town. Creaking wooden floors on two floors accompany you through the evening, very attentive service with the touch of being a little more warm-hearted than other restaurants in Wetzlar, provides you with grilled food - the food is outstanding, especially if you like grilled meat. The kitchen is partly run by long-term employees, the owner himself is always present and the atmosphere is alive with music, the light and the hustle and bustle. It would be a shame to just go for a drink there - whether you want to end the evening on a weekday or go out on the weekend - "come as your are" with high quality food: a combination of bar and restaurant that is not that common the region.

We were here on a Saturday evening with 8 people. Have rarely experienced such good, friendly and attentive service. Absolutely great. Food top. Didn't wait long. The only negative point: I think a glass of 0.2 wine 🍷 for €8.20 is too expensive

Very good food, good value for money, drinks a bit too expensive (wine 200ml over 8 euros). The service was really top (polite, friendly, fast, attentive). The atmosphere in the lower guest room was very pleasant and cozy, but in the upper guest room it was a bit cold and uncomfortable.

We have known Ludwig's for many years and have eaten there many times. So far we have been very satisfied. But on the last visit the price/performance ratio was no longer right. The clear portions are stretched with bread to fill you up and are now overpriced. A 0.2l glass of wine costs €8.40! It won't be difficult for us to avoid Ludwig's in the future.
