bona'me in Hamburg

It's a chain restaurant, but with oriental cuisine. We really enjoyed it and will definitely come back when we have the chance. We'll also visit this restaurant in other cities.

Portions and prices are okay. The beef skewer was extremely tough, and the pide were so oily they were dripping, making it impossible to eat without spilling. Napkins on the tables would be appreciated. The dirty dishes between the appetizer, main course, and dessert could be cleared away more frequently, especially when it's not busy (it was midweek). There was no soap in the men's restroom.

A cool restaurant with a unique concept: you receive a menu upon arrival. You then use it to order one or more Middle Eastern delicacies and drinks from a central tablet. Placing an order also activates a buzzer, which beeps after just one or two minutes to indicate that your drink and/or appetizer is ready for pickup. My companion has a leg length discrepancy and walks with a limp. A server thoughtfully brought his order directly to the table. The food is delicious and a refreshing change from typical restaurant fare.

Service was nonexistent. You had to get up and go to the bar yourself to order food and drinks. This meant that if I was eating, my drink was empty, I had to get up in the middle of it to order something else. To pick up the food, I had to walk all the way through the restaurant. A terrible concept. The food tasted okay, although one of the flatbreads was burnt. At least they replaced it after we asked. The price was completely unjustified; we won't be back.

The woman at the checkout with black hair was so incredibly unfriendly. Never again!

Unfortunately, my visit was unsatisfactory. The soup was very thick and cold, even though the taste itself was good. The pide and the orange juice, on the other hand, were really delicious. The tea, however, was also served cold. The mezze platter seemed to have been sitting out for a long time, so liquid had separated; in addition, both the sucuk and the bread were very dry. There was a lot of dust when I opened the pomegranate, which left an unappetizing impression. At a total price of €55, I would have expected higher quality. The tone of the employee at the drinks counter was also particularly disappointing. When I asked for my phone number, he did so in a very unfriendly and inappropriate manner. Overall, a disappointing visit. I hope these points are taken seriously and improvements are made in the future.

One thing has to be said – the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! It's just a shame there was no service at all! We were shown to our table (we had a reservation for four people for a birthday), it was quickly wiped down, and that was it! No explanation of how anything worked, and then we were just left sitting there! Guests are left to their own devices! No waitressing, you even have to get your own drinks! Older people would be completely overwhelmed! No one even checked in to see if everything was alright. Unfortunately, we noticed that many guests had the same experience. Please train your staff in "guest-oriented" service; then it would be perfect. Especially if it's your first time, you absolutely need some orientation! SELAM

Although ordering seemed a bit complicated, we later realized that it was actually very practical :) Everything we ate was delicious. Tea was a bit expensive, but we missed brewed tea so much, it was good. The presentation was also very authentic.

We went out to eat as a team of eight. I found it inconvenient that the menu was so extensive, requiring us to write down our orders and then search for and enter everything again on the screen if we wanted to order for everyone. It would be much simpler to order directly on our phones, since we were already viewing the menu there. The food was very tasty, but the portions were too large for us. It's a shame that so much food is left on the plates and wasted. This is neither good for the economy nor for the environment. The staff at the stations were often unfriendly when we asked questions, such as which dish was which or whether something was for us. Many items on the appetizer platter were very bland and not a pleasant experience. There is definitely room for improvement. Furthermore, it's not clear from the ordering screens which items are vegan (dressing, for example).

As always, a great meal with polite staff in a beautiful setting.

A really cool system. You get a card at the beginning and can use it to order and pick up your food or drinks at various stations. At the end, you hand the card in at the entrance and pay the amount shown on the card. The food was freshly prepared and tasted great. See you next time!

Delicious food with a unique concept. Cozy and great value!

The food was good, no doubt. What bothered me, however, was that when you picked up your food from the kitchen, the cook was always very unfriendly when you asked about it. I recommend it, but be careful if you're not very tech-savvy; you might find it a bit overwhelming.

The concept takes some getting used to at first, but you get the hang of it. The staff is helpful and family-friendly. The decor is lovely, and the Persian food is delicious. I highly recommend it, especially for vegetarians and vegans.

A lovely atmosphere in the evening, perfect for relaxing and chatting. Unfortunately, the summer special dish I initially wanted was no longer available. So I ordered a pide (too many sesame seeds for my taste).

Great Middle Eastern restaurant in Hamburg. We stumbled upon Bona'me during our trip to Hamburg and ate there on Thursday. They have a self-service concept where you order via tablets. We tried Beyti for the first time and were very impressed 😍 It was really delicious, as were the pide and the goat cheese salad, and we left feeling very full. We can definitely highly recommend Bona'me!

Great food. However, I don't like the self-service concept. The digital ordering system works perfectly. However, it's quite cumbersome and disruptive when someone constantly has to get up from the table to pick up their order. Especially when you're in a group, it leads to quite a bit of chaos. The ordering terminals at the counter are also inconvenient. Why isn't there an option to order at the table? In conclusion: A good place for a quick bite. Not so much for a relaxed evening with friends.

The ambiance is appealing and cozy. My main course was TRÜF MANTARYAĞLI Manti (homemade manti with truffle butter and mushrooms). The mushrooms were unmistakably canned, a fact also noticed by my companion, who tasted them. Therefore, I can only give the otherwise very tasty food 3 stars. The service only gets 1 out of 5 stars because the reaction at the checkout was extremely frustrating. My companion and I had said that we had enjoyed our meal but also pointed out the use of canned mushrooms. This was very clearly denied, even after we pointed it out several times. That's not how you respond to constructive feedback.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We went there for breakfast. The Turkish breakfast was good overall, and the atmosphere was really nice. I especially enjoyed the strips of beef with a fried egg. However, what we received didn't quite match the description. For example, it was advertised as honey with Turkish kaymak, but we were only served honey with butter (see photos). It's a shame; small details often make all the difference. Nevertheless, it was a lovely experience overall.

This was our first time at bona'me. We were asked about it at reception and the self-service system was explained to us. It's unusual at first and takes some getting used to. The food and drinks were very good. Service is rather limited (mostly self-service).

Yesterday we celebrated our engagement at the restaurant and were very pleased. The service and food were excellent; we felt right at home. We would especially like to thank Ms. Emina for her attentiveness and care. The food was plentiful and delicious, the decorations were beautiful – everything was simply perfect. I've been here a few times. It was another lovely evening. However, I didn't quite understand the point of the reservation system. I made a reservation through the website. I don't think it makes any difference, because there was nothing in the reservation book, and we were simply seated wherever there was space. The food is still good. You have to like the ordering system, because it can be a bit chaotic when you're dining with a group. The prices are just about acceptable for self-service.

Breakfast was delicious, as always. I just wish there was a bit more choice at breakfast, and that fresh vegetables could be ordered separately, for example. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, we weren't informed about the self-service system at reception, so we had to wait. Ordering on the screen and picking up the food was a bit chaotic. My pasta was a little doughy, but my companion's meal was very tasty. My cocktail was delicious. Overall, it was okay, but with better information and organization, the visit would have been much more pleasant.

It would be good if the self-service restaurant system were explained upon arrival, instead of just being handed two scan cards without a word. After asking several times, the system was finally explained to us. At first, I thought the price-performance ratio was okay. But with the lack of service, I'm not so sure.

Food is pretty good and the concept is fun and easy to use. Also super efficient. But the service is dire....it was the first time we were there and didnt understand how it works but staff are brusque and abrupt. They bark at you and seem to be rushed the whole time with no time to answer questions politely. Also, Self service is all very well, but hunting for cutlery, putting away your own dishes and having to work out which dish ior drink is yours is taking the concept too far!

The food is very tasty. However, you have to be aware that you order your food from a display and pick it up yourself at the counter. However, it's very quick.

We'd love to come back. As always, the food is delicious.

We visited as a family and found the ambiance very appealing, the food delicious, and the menu offered a diverse selection. I travel from Bremen to Hamburg and Hanover to dine there, but as far as I know, a Bona'me will soon be opening in Bremen, which I'm particularly looking forward to.

It was a very pleasant experience on the last day of our visit to Hamburg. We haven't experienced such friendly staff and hospitality in a long time. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Hamburg. Our initial apprehension about ordering was immediately put to rest. Thank you again for the lovely evening.

The food was delicious. The service is difficult to evaluate, as it's common practice to order at kiosks (which everyone touches with greasy fingers) and you also have to pick up your food at the counter. Waiters are available to clear and clean the tables. However, the staff, when spoken to, were very friendly and helpful. We were there with children, so we had a few special requests. I thought the design and furnishings were nice and sophisticated. The restrooms could have been better monitored, and the diaper changing area was lousy. All in all, I would go back, but preferably without the kids.

It's a beautiful place I recommend it to everyone

The food is quite good. Service is practically nonexistent. The ambiance is good, but I wonder why you have to wait so long for a seat when there are plenty of free tables in the back of the restaurant... I liked it much better in the early days. Now it's more like an assembly line.

Great atmosphere and fantastic food! I've been to bona'me in Hamburg several times now and have been completely satisfied every time. The concept with the various cooking stations is great – you can see how fresh everything is prepared. I especially recommend the pide and the meze selection; they're simply fantastic!

Bona'me has been our go-to place for many years when we need a break with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. The food is exceptionally delicious and beautifully presented. We enjoy breakfast often and often come here with friends. The space is large enough for spontaneous dining with more than four people. We've never had to wait. It's important to note: you pick up your own food. Thank you for such a well-run restaurant!!! A real asset to Hamburg!

We had a rough day in Hamburg due to the rain, but a chance encounter at Bona'me made us forget everything. Müslüm Bey, upon hearing we were from Istanbul, made us feel very special. We felt right at home. Speaking of the menu, it's far superior in flavor and variety compared to Europe :) The prices are quite reasonable. What more could you ask for? 😊

Wonderful team. We regularly eat at bona me with our 2.5-year-old son. We always feel incredibly comfortable. Very child-friendly. The food is always great! We like the ordering system because you can order whenever you want. We eat at bona me any time of day, but I would especially recommend the breakfast. The freshly squeezed orange juice with it is fantastic!

Some of the food tastes good... but McDonald's feels like I'm in a cafeteria, only the staff are themselves, unfortunately. The mezzes weren't good at all; everything tasted the same. Beyti tasted good...

This was the third bona'me we've eaten at, and it was rather satisfactory. The food arrived before the drinks, but the service was slow. Our pager battery died, meaning we had to stand and wait at the bar, and the food was served cold. We ordered pide with baked beef and cheese, but the meat was different. Instead of beef, it had doner meat on it, and instead of two dips, there was only one. When we asked at the counter if we could have another bowl of dip, no one could help us. One of the four meals was ready much too late, and after everyone had finished eating, the fourth of us got our food. But it was still delicious, as always.

Food inedible self-service warm drinks and disrespectful prices

The food tastes great, but the portions are too small for the price. The drink selection, including homemade lemonades, could be larger. Still, definitely worth a visit!

Nice ambiance, mediocre food, rather overpriced for the quality. I had the mezze platter, pide, and tea. The food was so-so... I found the mezze platter, in particular, extremely disappointing and not worth the price. Of the approximately seven items, two were some kind of stale bread, and the rest were more like dips and a tasteless couscous salad. The pide was decent, and so was the tea. So, I might go there for a drink sometime, because the ambiance is nice. You can get much better food at any restaurant on Steindamm.

We ordered Beyti with chicken... The vegetables were overcooked... almost mushy. The minced meat pide... was actually just a cheese pide with a minced meat topping, which was apparently fried separately in a pan... It was quite disappointing...

No service, but a lady at the reception who neither asked if they were familiar with the concept nor explained how to order. Customers don't order at the table, but have to go to the counter to order digitally and then pick up their food and drinks individually. Both salads were quite greasy, whole tomatoes were included, large pieces of cucumber were cut up, and as a reward, we were given free garbage. Neither of us even ate 50% of our food, as it was neither tasty nor prepared with care. The interior was inviting and tastefully decorated. It was clean, too. The tiles in the bathrooms have a totally modern, rustic feel, and are truly beautiful. The staff were only partially understanding when I asked questions. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. The value for money is absolutely not right.

I ate at the restaurant yesterday and was unfortunately very disappointed. I ordered a mezze plate – no matter what I tried, everything tasted extremely garlicky and lacked a distinct flavor. The lentil soup was so thick that it was more like pudding – also unconvincing in terms of taste. Overall, the meal didn't live up to my expectations. I won't be visiting the restaurant again.

We came to this restaurant by chance for breakfast (a few months ago now). The concept of ordering at the terminal was different, it meant we had our drinks and food ready rather fast. The food was excellent, really tasty - shame we don't live in Hamburg and can't enjoy it more often.

Excellent Turkish restaurant, food and self service

Unfortunately, it's not as great as it was a year or two ago... the lady you contact if you have any questions didn't speak German. We got a broken water bottle, which we only noticed after we'd finished our drinks. That could have been extremely dangerous. At that point, I thought, "Whatever, it can happen." The vegetarian beyti was completely oversalted in places. I asked if the meat could be replaced in one dish: the lady said no problem. "They'll send back a completely different dish." When I politely pointed this out to her, she accused me of having to throw away three meals because of me. Such a shame.

Anyone who's comfortable with self-service and modern technology and enjoys incredibly delicious Kurdish-Turkish food has to go to bona'me! The menu isn't entirely intuitive, but it's still doable, on tablets at the counter. Orders are placed using an order card and a buzzer, then the buzzer buzzes for the food to be picked up. Finally, payment is made with the order card. The food is second to none. High-quality, hot, beautifully presented, an absolute Hamburg highlight—and a must-see!

Normally, I'm used to being asked if it's your first time there or if you're already familiar with the concept – and then it's explained to you. Unfortunately, that's not the case here. Anyone who asks quickly feels like they're disturbing the place. The cashier seemed annoyed and unfriendly to both me and other guests. Anyone familiar with the Bona'me Factory in Cologne will be disappointed: There, you can conveniently order at your table using a QR code, everything is brought to your table, and special requests are no problem. The service is friendly, the process is relaxed – a world of difference for me.

I only go there for the food. The pitas are incredibly good! But if you like a cozy atmosphere and want a drink, you should go somewhere else afterward.

Turkish restaurant. The breakfast experience was unmissable. It was amazing. However, the cream dish was canned and regular. But everything else was amazing and fresh, especially the simit. The baked goods were amazing.

Like Vapiano - self-service... not my thing. I couldn't find some of the dishes on the ordering terminal... The bread for the appetizer platter wasn't fresh anymore, which is a shame. The atmosphere was very loud and very crowded. The Boname iced tea was okay. Okay. In conclusion, okay for a very young crowd.

A self-service Turkish restaurant with German-style payment methods. The food is partly Turkish, with some changes to suit different tastes. The pide and beyti varieties were just right for our palate. I'd been there in Düsseldorf before, and I'd love to try them in Hamburg.

It was very tasty and the portions were generous. Since it's self-service, you don't have to deal with the staff. Unfortunately, it was very noisy there at lunchtime.

No. A terrible system with payment cards and transponders for ordering. So you have to go twice for a drink or a meal, and then end up waiting forever at the cash register to pay. I found it awful. Why should you tip here?! The atmosphere is like a train station concourse... sticky, sweaty air, and very loud, so you always have to shout... well, who likes that?!?
