We had breakfast at bona’me Düsseldorf on Saturday. The food was very tasty – classic Turkish breakfast dishes like menemen, sucuk, sesame rings, etc., were excellent. The price-performance ratio is good for Düsseldorf, comparable to other major cities. Orders are taken at the counter, not at the table, which works well. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, and the backrest on my bench fell off – not a big problem, but something that could be improved. Overall, a delicious breakfast of solid quality; I'd gladly go again, especially on weekdays when it's probably a bit quieter.

I'm writing this review as a pregnant woman who experienced this firsthand, and I truly wish I didn't have to. On February 2nd, 2026, we went to Bona'me in Düsseldorf for dinner. I was pregnant at the time and was really looking forward to a nice, relaxing evening. What happened afterward was an enormous strain on me, both physically and especially mentally. Even during the meal, we noticed several negative aspects, both in terms of taste and hygiene. Some of the food was inedible. However, things got much worse a few hours later: I suddenly became extremely ill. I vomited repeatedly, couldn't even keep water down, and my circulation collapsed. Eventually (after several hours), an ambulance had to be called, and I was admitted to the hospital. The vomiting continued there, and I received several IV infusions because my body was completely dehydrated. Eating and drinking were impossible. As a pregnant woman, this situation was not only extremely stressful physically, but above all emotionally… the fear for my unborn baby was immense and weighed heavily on me! My husband also subsequently experienced symptoms such as nausea and severe abdominal cramps. The hospital clearly communicated that it was food poisoning, which can occur within this timeframe. My husband was also advised to be admitted, but he declined so he could stay with me and support me. In the restaurant itself, we also observed highly questionable hygiene practices, including eating while preparing food, touching necks and backs, and continuing to work without hand hygiene. What shocks me even more is that we deliberately chose not to go public initially. My husband is a restaurateur himself and wanted to resolve the matter fairly and directly. We didn't want to harm anyone, leave a bad review, or involve the authorities. However, the reaction from Bona'me, especially from the responsible contact person, Dr. Stummel, was appalling. No genuine understanding, no reasonable compromise. Instead, even the hospital's clear statements were questioned. I find this attitude disrespectful and insensitive, especially towards a pregnant woman who has gone through such an ordeal. As "compensation," we were offered the option of being guests on our next visit. An offer that, given the circumstances, simply seems inappropriate and is, in fact, out of the question. Since our factual and direct contact was met with no reasonable compromise, we have now also reported the incident to the local authorities. You get the feeling that you have to raise your voice to be taken seriously. I am very disappointed with how we were treated and can only hope that such situations will be taken more seriously in the future so that other guests don't have to go through similar experiences!

Bona'me in Düsseldorf offers modern Kurdish-Turkish cuisine in a spacious, stylish self-service setting. Customers order at the terminal, pick up their food and drinks, and enjoy freshly prepared dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant boasts a wide selection of authentic dishes, freshly prepared mezze, pide, beyti, and meat and salad dishes, along with good value for money and friendly service. The portions are generous and the food is flavorful and well-seasoned.

I'm not sure what happened, but the linen soup tasted very different and was inedible. The server was very unobtrusive and wanted to clear the table quickly. The mezze platter was also not as expected; the dips were inedible, everything tasteless. With couscous, I at least expect fresh pomegranate seeds, not a frozen one. The bread was rock hard and not even warmed up. We enjoyed being there, but for the price, it's no longer acceptable.

I've been to this shop three times, and twice I ate something with meat: beyti and lahmacun. Both times I had to go to the hospital with food poisoning. That says it all!

A very delicious breakfast, a great restaurant for brunch, and a wonderful atmosphere. The food is prepared very fresh and deliciously, and there is a great selection on the food and drink menu. We really enjoy coming here.

So far, so good. The food tastes great, but unfortunately the portions aren't very large. The selection of plant-based dishes is very poor. For example, you can't even replace the sour cream dip with a vegan one.

I only post negative reviews when I've really felt let down by a venue, as I do respect the fact that it's always hard running a business. However this place just left me so stressed and disappointed, and I wanted to warn others in case they were hoping for something different when observing the queue to go into this place. If you're looking for a loud, self-service, practically canteen-like eatery with nice decor - by all means go for this place. But if you want a restaurant where you can actually relax and enjoy yourself, this place is not for you. You have to do absolutely everything yourself. Scan the code to get the menu. Go up to the self-order machines (often waiting in line there as they get busy), which have no English option (there is an English flag there but once you click it you still get everything in German), wait at your table for when it's ready (around 20 minutes when it's busy), then go and pick your dish and bring it to your table yourself through the crowd, and finally wait in line to pay at the end. Basically like a fast-food joint but without any smiles and certainly not fast! Vegan items are not specifically listed with any type of symbol. The only way you can hope to find anything vegan is by going to the vegetarian section of the menu and click on each item individually and see if there are eggs or dairy listed as allergens. When asking staff members about vegan options the rudest one shouted "NO ENGLISH NO ENGLISH" and left me there. A few of her colleagues either didn't speak English or didn't know what "vegan" actually means. I would expect that from a small town pub but not from a highly popular central restaurant in a vibrant city full of expats and tourists. There were very few, and I do mean very few vegan options. And there is seeminly noone there to help you in case you want to ask something about the menu or ordering process. It was super loud and crowded, and of course you do everything yourself so at this point you have to ask yourself - is it not a better and easier experience to simply buy yourself a salad from Rewe, certainly would be cheaper. I genuinely have no idea why this place is as popular as it is.

Busy place, lots of hustle and bustle- not everyone ‚s cup of tea. Food was average in taste, IMO, however a huge variety to choose from. Due to high number of guests and orders subsequently resulting in a high volume of orders, waiving times did try one’s patience with some dishes making it difficult or close to impossible to have a meal together with the family. Also, some dishes, such as Manti, weren’t prepared correctly, partially still raw, making the wait even longer. Generally, a happening place, but not for me, especially if you are visiting with family and hungry little children.

The food was very good. However, the noise level was incredibly high. There was loud music playing last night, which made everyone talk even louder. I could barely have a conversation with the person I was with. There was no beeping sound when ordering at the terminal. So I couldn't even order a drink while waiting to finally order food.

We ordered mantı (Turkish dumplings), and there was cheese inside. There were also two meatballs on the plate. It's really ridiculous; they're giving us cheese pastries instead of mantı.

The food is freshly prepared and tastes very good. However, it's a bit overpriced for Turkish food. The service concept is simply annoying.

We eat here regularly, but yesterday we ordered delivery and it was incredibly bad. The chicken beyti seemed to contain only carrots and cauliflower, which isn't usually the case when we eat in.

The köfte was burnt and, frankly, tasteless. The bulgur was also bland. The cashier was very friendly, but one of the waiters was the complete opposite.

We've always stayed in Deutz before, and I have to say I like it much better there. The food was okay.

Tea is not an extra charge at Turkish breakfast, but even if it were, they would serve the tea first, and there was no heater underneath, just a teapot. By the time the breakfast arrived, it was ice cold. The contents weren't very good, I'm sorry to say. A small plate resembling a salad only contained lettuce and two slices of cherry tomatoes. Considering the price and contents, we weren't satisfied. The place is nice, but I don't think it will be very successful if this service continues. I hope you read the reviews and make improvements, as we searched online and traveled quite a distance to get here.

Staying at the Luna Ruby Hotel next door, on a snowy night, bona’me represented the perfect (and easiest) choice to have dinner. Where we live there are not so many Middle Eastern restaurants, so with a mix of hunger and curiosity we went in. It is a self-service Kurdish-Turkish restaurant whose open design offers a direct view into the kitchen. On entering, you're handed a card, then at a terminal you place your order and wait for your buzzer to ring in order to collect drinks and dishes (pay attention to the fact that they must be collected separately and at different times) I liked the concept and the unusual (for me) food. Recommended.

Everything I’ve tried so far has been amazing. The chicken beyti was very tasty, though I felt there were more veggies than chicken. The cheese pide was thin, crusty, and I really enjoyed it. The Toblerone börek was also super delicious, but it’s huge — definitely something to share with at least three people. For breakfast, I only really liked the eggs with sucuk; the side dishes weren’t my favorite. Overall, still a great place with lots of dishes worth trying.

The service was nonexistent. No greeting at first. The system wasn't explained, absolutely nothing. I felt completely ignored when ordering drinks. The food was tasty.

Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot recommend Bona'me. I've been there twice, and both times the price-performance ratio was unacceptable. Therefore, I wouldn't give it another chance. The lahmacun was truly the worst I've ever eaten – it seemed like there was hardly any meat on it, and it tasted almost entirely of tomato paste.

The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and offers various seating options suitable for different groups. Food is self-service. The open kitchen is a nice feature, allowing you to watch the dishes being prepared. We ordered a Beyti Köfte and a Lahmacun. The Beyti was honestly very good and filling. The presentation was also excellent. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Lahmacun. It was a complete disappointment: very dry and practically meatless. Furthermore, neither salad nor lemon was served with it – not even a slice of lemon, as everything was charged extra. A Lahmacun simply cannot be enjoyed like that and doesn't justify the price. If you'd like to try something different, I can recommend the Beyti or Manti-like dishes.

If you can call it service, the person at reception is very friendly. At first, I thought, "Hmm." But then I liked being able to order and be in control of everything. You're not interrupted during conversations and can decide for yourself. So I think it's great. They could perhaps be a bit more proficient in German for certain things, but it doesn't detract from the overall impression. 👌😊🍀

A very nice restaurant. Culture combined with excellent food. We come regularly. A wide selection, and the food is freshly prepared – you can taste the difference. Every single ingredient has been carefully considered; nothing is left to chance. The pide with Black Angus beef and cheese sauce is my favorite. The kısır is also delicious, and everything is really very good.

We had a wonderful meal. We had both dinner and breakfast the next morning. Great atmosphere and good food for a reasonable price. Not expensive. Definitely recommended.

I ate here with my family today. The food wasn't as great as other guests described. The selection wasn't very extensive. Our tables weren't clean; we pointed this out to a waiter, who came with a damp cloth and wiped the table. However, it was still dirty, even after I dried it with a paper towel. I had brought two knives, and they were also dirty. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot recommend it. All the hype surrounding Boname in Düsseldorf is, in my opinion, completely unjustified. The place seems to live solely off Instagram and social media, not on quality or good food. No one explains the concept of ordering from self-service kiosks. As soon as it gets a little busier – which is almost always the case – the already nonexistent quality drops even further. Food that you have to pick up yourself, like in a food hall, is average to disappointing in taste and completely overpriced. The value for money is simply disastrous. You pay far too much for what you get. The ambiance is nice for photos, yes – but that can't replace good food. You feel like you're only paying for the name and the hype. The bottom line: all show and no substance. A pure Instagram gimmick that lacks substance, quality, and a genuine restaurant concept. I visited once, but never again.

We ordered two large bottles of water and two Cokes Zero – unfortunately, all at room temperature. For food, we ordered one pide, one lahmacun, one manti, and other dishes, but I only tried the ones mentioned above. Unfortunately, none of it was recommendable. The dishes were far removed from authentic Turkish/Kurdish cuisine. The taste was simply different. The so-called "manti" bore no resemblance to the manti we know – neither in shape nor filling. The pide and lahmacun we ordered were cold and prepared without any care. I had visited bona'me several years ago and wanted to give the concept another chance, but it remains a disappointment for me.

Bona'me impresses with its modern, stylish decor that still manages to be cozy. You immediately feel at ease, and the atmosphere is thoughtfully designed and inviting. The menu is available digitally, which fits well with the modern concept – although it's a little difficult to navigate on a mobile phone. Ordering is also done online at the table, which works perfectly. You then pick up your food and drinks yourself, giving the experience a relaxed and uncomplicated feel. The selection of dishes is large and varied, and everything tasted absolutely fantastic – incredibly delicious and freshly prepared. The only downside: our two dishes weren't ready at the same time, which made eating together a little difficult. Nevertheless, it was a very positive experience overall. We'll definitely be back!

Hello to everyone who enjoys eating out! I was there yesterday and received a very warm welcome. Mr. Bo... was truly very attentive and addressed my issue. Huge praise to him personally! The food was delicious, as always. I can highly recommend it.

Good service, partial self service which makes everything more easy. However the food is neither Turkish nor continental. Taste is OK. But not reflecting Turkish cousine. I can call here as German touch on Turkish cousine. There are some courses here that I have seen the first time like pide with Avocado, or chicken beyti. We ate tava lamacun wich was not good at all, It was like a lahmacun searching for identity. Köfte beyti was better. All in all not bad place to eat. Atmosphere is cosy.

I would definitely recommend a Turkish restaurant, but I think the only problem (from what we ate) is that the lahmacun isn't standard; it's pan-fried. It's good, but could have been better. The beyti was good, though. There are many different varieties of all the dishes, but some don't have the standard ones. The beyti was with steak, for example, but they also have avocado. The atmosphere is great. You order from the screen and pick it up. When it's ready, it beeps and tells you where to get it.

The food is not the best, the service is confusing and rushed. We got a qr code card and a buzzer and we were left on our own to figure out how to order or get the food. I believe both servers and customers were stressed out about the weird system. Food was really mid. Falafel was not fried??? and the salad was ridiculously drenched in balsamic but no other sauce. If we have to add olive oil, salt etc and find our own cutlery somewhere in the restaurant at least let us decide to have less balsamic?

The Concept & Ambiance The restaurant uses a modern, self-service system similar to Vapiano: you order at terminals and pick up your food and drinks. This is convenient in principle, but the experience feels more like a chain restaurant than a proper restaurant. The decor is stylish, the ambiance pleasant, and the location, with its terrace and large dining room, feels urban and welcoming. It was definitely clean. Service & Family-Friendliness For families with small children, things are a bit mixed: there are high chairs, but they didn't fit our table properly—our son wasn't sitting comfortably because the chair wasn't high enough. That was rather annoying. The service was adequate, but the self-service concept means that personal attention isn't really a priority. The decor is stylish, the ambiance pleasant, and the location, with its terrace and large dining room, feels urban and inviting. It was definitely clean. Service & Family-Friendliness For families with small children, the situation is mixed: there are high chairs, but they didn't fit our table well—our son wasn't sitting comfortably because the chair wasn't high enough. Food & Drinks Here are my biggest criticisms: • Sucuk: I ordered sucuk, but unfortunately, some of it wasn't cooked through properly. That was disappointing – you expect at least a decent preparation for such a classic. • Drink (Pomme Grenade Sherbet Iced Tea): What was advertised as sherbet iced tea tasted, in my opinion, practically just like sparkling water. The flavor was very weak; there was little to no real aromatic kick. • Beyti Kofte: The meat was practically swimming in a mixture of yogurt and oil. That was overdone and, to my taste, unappetizing – too much fat, too little balance. • Manti: They were okay – not much negative to say, but nothing outstanding either. • Appetizers (Meze): The worst flaw: We received three small bowls of dip, which were well-filled, but ice-cold. This significantly detracted from the food – dips simply don't taste good cold. And there were only three tiny strips of bread to accompany the amount of dip. In my opinion, that's a very unfortunate combination – lots of dip, but practically no bread for dipping. It almost feels like a design flaw or a cost-cutting measure at the expense of enjoyment. Prices & Value for Money Here it's quite clear: the value for money isn't right for me. For what we received – mediocre preparation, strange textures, disappointing drinks – I felt the prices were too high. Considering the portion sizes and the quality, I expected significantly more. Conclusion Bona'mé isn't a bad place: modern concept, good location, stylish restaurant, and generally family-friendly. But it's just not enough to truly impress me. Some dishes are unbalanced, the drink was disappointing, and with the appetizers, you get the feeling they were trying to cut corners – too little bread for dipping, ice-cold meze. Therefore, we give it 3 stars. For an average, urban oriental restaurant, it's okay, but for the price I would have expected more.

We liked the presentation and the taste of the food, but I didn't like the pita. I got a strong pepper instead of the meat flavor in the pita. The crunch was nice, but the sauce topping overpowered the meat, so I wasn't even sure if there was any meat. Unfortunately, the pita was a complete failure. 😔 I think the pita needs work. A new recipe should be tried. Other than that, we loved everything that was served. The atmosphere was nice, and the ordering system was functional. Unfortunately, the pita wasn't the only thing that didn't suit that beautiful atmosphere. The shish kebab and the appetizer platter were very good, and I can recommend them.

It was a place we went to during our stay in Düsseldorf and we liked it very much. The food is really delicious and the portions are very sufficient, the pitas are very tasty, the tea after the meal was really good. We would also like to thank Bora Bey who was very helpful to us.

bona’me Düsseldorf impresses with delicious food, fresh ingredients, and a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are prepared quickly, and you pick them up yourself at the counters. It can be a bit noisy during peak hours, but overall it's a great restaurant that I'd happily return to.

Overall, our visit was quite mixed. The food was okay, but the portions were simply a bit too small for my taste; especially with the cheese pide, you could hardly taste the topping. That explains the three stars for the food. The ambiance was really great, so five stars for that. And yes, the wait was a bit long, and the value for money could be better. I don't mean to be unfair, but overall, it was just an average experience.

The whole concept isn't welcoming. You have to queue at an ordering terminal to order everything. Then you have to wait until your pager rings to pick it up. It has nothing to do with a relaxed meal. I wouldn't recommend having breakfast there on a Saturday. It was very loud because there were many families with small children, who naturally created quite a commotion. That's nothing like a relaxing Saturday breakfast. It's more like a cafeteria. The tables aren't cleared when you're finished... they're cutting costs by leaving the customers to do everything themselves and raking in the cash. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

My boyfriend and I love Bona'me. It's our number one when it comes to food. When it was still in Dortmund, we went there every week. Before that, we always drove to Cologne for it. Now we drive all the way to Düsseldorf to eat at Bona'me. The food is so incredibly delicious!!! The tacos, Bona'me Pide, Sê Meze 1, and Şerbet are our absolute favorites. Please come back to Dortmund! 😭♥️

Hi everyone, I usually love going to Boname and the food is fantastic. Today we were there again, as we are every week, and unfortunately we got a piece of glass in our hand and another in our backside. There were also small pieces of glass on the floor and on the bench. This is completely unacceptable and can cause serious injuries. Best regards

We were here on a Saturday evening. I have to say, the food was really delicious and I would definitely recommend it. However, the atmosphere is like a large cafeteria, a train station waiting room, or a fancier, crowded McDonald's! Absolutely not suitable if you want to have a relaxed meal with friends. We didn't like the concept at all. There's no table service, so I can't give it any stars for that. You order at self-service kiosks, get a buzzer, and then have to pick up your food and drinks at different stations. Naturally, you can't eat together comfortably because the food is ready at different times at the different stations. People constantly had to get up, interrupt their conversation, and pick something up from a station. We were seated right in front of the food counter in the aisle. You can't reserve tables. It was incredibly chaotic. Additionally, you had to watch out that you didn't get bumped into with your food from some direction... It might be better on a quieter day, but on a Saturday night... Absolutely stressful, so loud that you couldn't understand your own conversations and afterwards you were hoarse and had a headache from having to talk over the noise all evening. The concept was a complete failure for me. A shame, considering how good the food was.

I didn't like the Düsseldorf branch. My meal was half an hour late. It wasn't crowded. I ate my other main course. My meal was definitely forgotten. We had to get up from the table and ask 4 times.

You have to order your food yourself at the counter. You have to get up and pick up each item individually. Drinks too. So, if you order three dishes, you have to go back and get up three times. Everything arrives separately, with varying wait times. The tea is unfortunately just water and not at all Turkish or flavorful. The taste was okay.

Distinctive and unique dishes Highly recommended

Some of the food is delicious, but what's really unacceptable given the prices is the annoying Vapiano system! Guests are constantly running back and forth to pick up their drinks and food. I would definitely prefer waitress service. It's a nice place, nicely decorated, but I probably won't be returning.

There are truly many delicious things to suit every taste. One small drawback: as is often the case, searching for them on your phone is a bit tedious.

Very good and fresh food. Great concept. Even the boss took the time to say hello and wish us a lot of fun. We had a great time.
