Bombay Palast in Chemnitz

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as it used to be. The lamb was too tough and tasteless, and the prices had been exorbitantly increased. It's a shame...we miss the Bombayplast team. Above all, it smells strongly of Indian smoke. It made me dizzy. It was unbearably sweet, a truly artificial stench. I wonder why it's so exaggerated here.

Friendly service and delicious food! Every dish we ordered was delicious. Fresh naan bread was available whenever we needed it. We love eating here!

Since the beginning of 2025 with new operator, very tasty cuisine, vegetarian and lamb recommended, there is always rice and naan bread with the dish, the ambience with constant sound and colorful lighting still takes some getting used to, but on request the volume has been reduced

We visited on December 23rd and received a very friendly welcome. We quickly chose a comfortable spot and were served promptly. The mango lassi was delicious. Our main courses arrived freshly prepared after a short wait. Unfortunately, my duck breast was a bit burnt, but the rest was excellent.

Ordered a meal for delivery this evening. The time worked out, and the food was perfect. BUT: - The driver didn't have a wallet, so he didn't have any change, and asked me to ask the neighbors. - When that didn't work, he came back 30 minutes later and still didn't have the necessary change. The bottom line is, he just gave me back whole bills and pocketed a €2.10 tip for himself. I've never experienced anything so brazen!

Ordered food: It arrived promptly, everything was hot. The food was typical for Indian delivery services, with very tasty and high-quality chicken. The sauce was also very good. A solid 4.5 stars on paper. But: I ordered mango lassi, which is also listed on the bill, but it simply wasn't included (small order with only three dishes). €5.00 wasted just like that. That's unacceptable.

I am a direct resident of this restaurant and also ate there once. The food is definitely quite good. What isn't good at all is the noise at night. It also happened once that a neighboring house complained loudly about the noise. The restaurant then viciously insulted and shouted back. Sorry, that's not my level. It doesn't work at all.

Unfortunately there are new operators here? And a new Name? Intresting...but no Problem my old review was already with new owners. 4 weeks ago. We have been there twice now and the quality of the food is not what it used to be. The waiters are not as friendly. Also, a fire door is open and that has been the case every time we have been there. It seems to be a residential building and that is certainly not great. Apart from that, I would be interested to know whether hygiene is as lax as fire safety. We will not be coming back in the future. There are other Indian restaurants in C. And we ordered also via liederando but the food is not the same like in the old owners kitchen.

We tried the delivery service. The food was okay, but nothing more. You can get salads like this anywhere. Overall, it wasn't anything special. The bread gets hard too quickly... Delivery was fast and friendly.

Absolutely top! The food was of absolutely fantastic quality. Even the lamb was buttery soft and extremely tasty. In addition, my special request for extra bread was accommodated - at no extra charge. On top of that there was a free salad, chips with dip and a mango smoothie. Nothing more is possible! Food was ordered home via Lieferando.

A prime example of excellent service in a comfortable atmosphere! Unfortunately we only had very little time, but the service responded perfectly to our situation. The food was very tasty and especially the meat was tender and really delicate. Thanks to the helpfulness of the team, we were able to leave the restaurant completely happy within our time. Next time we will definitely come back with more time to enjoy.

A must go restaurant in town with a good food and a great service. Edit: The name of the restaurant has changed (2024), as well as its taste, but I won't reduce the star rating out of respect for the previous operator. The new operator does not meet the standards for a five-star rating.

I've been eating at this restaurant for years. I've never been disappointed. Finally, we had a wonderful evening and were lovingly served by a young man. You couldn't feel better when every meal, whether main course or starter, blows your mind. Thanks for the many years.

It's a shame, we had purchased an official 2-for-1 voucher through mobile-gutscheine de, so we bought it for EUR 4.99, just like we always do in other big cities like Munich, Berlin, Dresden or Leipzig. However, if you are then informed when ordering that the voucher is only valid up to a value of EUR 15 (it is nowhere in the terms and conditions and has not been an issue in any other restaurant so far) and the rest would be charged extra, you don't feel like it more. In any normal downtown restaurant in a big city, a normal meal costs much more! I don't understand how anyone can take part in such an action. Normally the aim here is to attract customers rather than scare them away. In this case, management obviously doesn't seem to have understood that. As I said: just a shame!

Food wasn't good. Three different foods with three different levels of spiciness, all the same sweet paste. Salad tasted completely messed up. Never again!

We ordered Chicken Korma online. And we have never had such bad Indian food. The bread was rubbery, the sauces were watery and unseasoned. It didn't taste anything. In a restaurant it would have gone back into the kitchen but at home you're more or less unlucky. We don't order anymore

Bombay Palace which is now called Taj Palace as it has changed hands. The atmosphere is still cozy. The food is very good. Everything from lamb, poultry, fish to vegetarian. There is also an offer for lunch. Before every meal there is a greeting from the kitchen with 3 dips. I don't know what the other reviewers have, when I visited the restaurant the food was always TOP. I first have to deduct a star for the service. Reason: The staff is extremely friendly, but still a little unsure about how to implement the work steps. The ordered dishes don't come at the same time, but I think that'll work out. Overall, definitely worth a visit. I'd love to come back.

I ordered duck and ordered chicken. Young 13 year old male was a bit aggressive. Should pay cash next time. Why? I don't want to go into that for financial reasons... there was a construction vacuum cleaner standing around, lots of toys next to the restaurant. The service was very nice but also very confused

In addition, the customers are taken care of with first-class service, really a great service. You can taste 100% of the effort and love in the food. We will definitely come back.

Were here today for the first time since the reopening. It was very disappointing. The food was very bland. According to the menu, fresh ingredients were supposed to be in the dish, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. (Champions) The sauces were very watery and there was also a lack of seasoning. Cleanliness in the restaurant also leaves something to be desired. (Dust) Things were much better with the old owner. Too bad!

This is our first time as a company Ordered lunch at the restaurant. It was chicken meat that ended up undercooked. We probably won't get any money back because the manager is unreasonable even though we offered to pick up the food again. The icing on the cake: we should bring the food back!!!! Why do you order food to be delivered? Due to time constraints. It was not picked up and all complaints are ignored. Never again!

We ordered from this restaurant for the first time via Lieferando. The meat was undercooked and we couldn't eat it. The owner wanted to pick up the food and we should get the money refunded. But now he doesn't agree to a refund from Lieferando! Impudence!

So two wrong dishes were delivered, the rice was forgotten and instead of one dessert two arrived. Today I had dinner again at the Bombay Palace, as always very tasty. You won't be disappointed there.

Bombay has (by far) the best cuisine in Chemnitz. The tandoori and vegetarian specialties are particularly recommended. The ambience appears very authentic and is lovingly furnished. Dessert menu is good, but could be expanded. Bottom line: massive, urgent recommendation 👍

Food is ok, the service is just subpar. More than 30 minutes passed from the time the first appetizer was served to the last. Another hour passed until all the main courses were on the table. All in all, completely haphazard. Forget drinks, forget starters and main courses too. For us it was the last time.

This is the second time I've been there and unfortunately I'm very dissatisfied. The food was very tasty, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately we had dirty glasses, they were replaced, then we wanted a bottle of Bacchus, the waitress came back and said "unfortunately we don't have any more" we asked for an alternative and she seemed very overwhelmed. After a while another waiter came with a bottle of Bacchus. We sat pretty far back in the corner on the other side there was a bed, which doesn't really belong in a restaurant, the toilets weren't the nicest anymore. All in all, it's all a bit grubby.

We have been coming to this restaurant for a long time and are always impressed by the friendly operators and waiters. The atmosphere is very cozy and you feel completely at home. Tasty and rich food with reasonable prices (the innkeepers can't help with the VAT increase, among other things) round off the visit. The waiters are discreet, friendly and very attentive. For us one of the best restaurants in Chemnitz! We say thank you

The food was very tasty, freshly prepared and plentiful! But: when ordering the drinks I had already mentioned two numbers (starter and main course). That was too much for the very friendly waitress, so after 15 minutes she came back with a piece of paper and pen to record it. However, with a very friendly apology. Ambience: pleasant and relatively quiet. Apart from the table next door with sweatpants and suspenders! It doesn't work at all.

The lunch menu was excellent value for money and even came with papadum. The food was good and the staff was very friendly. (I thought it was great that it wasn't that sharp. If you can tolerate more spiciness, you might want to upgrade to sharper).

Das Essen war wirklich lecker 😋 Der Service war dafür nicht so toll. Der Kellner hat sich selten sehen lassen. Wir hätten gerne noch Getränke gehabt - keine Chance. Zum Bezahlen ist dann unsere Gastgeberin (wir waren 14 Personen) an den Tresen gegangen 🤗

Man bat uns bar zu zahlen damit man das Geld am Fikus vorbei schleusen kann... Trotz das kaum Kunden da waren kam selten ein Kellner. Der Cappuccino schmeckte wie Spülwasser. Das einzig Gute war das Essen dort. Früher war es um Welten besser

Essen ist Top ( und schnell serviert ) ! Bedienung ist freundlich, Extra - Wünsche oder Nachschlag werden gern erfüllt. Bier schmeckt und ist sichtlich frisch vom Fass.

Chicken Curry- 3 Stücke Chicken. Gemüse Curry- Gemüse zerkocht. Leider keine Empfehlung!
