That was a perfect dinner with a family! Steaks are exceptional

Visited here 21/7/25 2pax 6pm for an early dinner. I had fond memories of this branch from back in 2013, and finally got to come back more than a decade later. Our order was taken quickly, and we had the goulash with a sirloin steak. Both dishes came in good time and as good as I remembered it all those years ago. I hope to visit again soon.

Very friendly staff & very good food

Seeing we speak English, they brought the menu in English. And a waiter speaking English took our orders. I liked that hospitality of the waiter. Just like other Block House restaurants, it is no different from a fancy restaurant except for its moderate prices.

Very rude (racist?) staff with French people. I left after my first beer without ordering the rest (she didn't want to take my order anyway...). French: Run away. The others, it's up to you.

I've been going to the Blockhaus since I was 4. Back then, it was in Hamburg. Back then, quality and good service were standard and guaranteed. Unfortunately, it has declined over the last 10 years. There are always good days, but also disappointing ones. Today was really bad. I had the special of the day: fries with turkey schnitzel. No ketchup, no lemon, nothing at all. They brought it to me with difficulty when I asked. The meat itself simply tasted like a deep fryer and sat in my stomach the whole lunchtime. I also said I didn't like it, but I still paid full price. On my way out, I saw that a customer had sour cream with it. My waitress told me that customers always had to order it themselves when I asked her about it. Not even at a motorway service station can you get fries and schnitzel without ketchup!!!! Then, as I was leaving, I wanted to smooth out the bad taste of some rubber animals that were lying on an open plate, so I asked for the tongs, at which the saleswoman rolled her eyes! Unbelievable! If she doesn't feel like working, she should leave it alone. Everyone else there is always nice, this lady never is... Black hair; glasses, a bit taller. The dog water was dirty too, which was already too much for the lady; that I had mentioned it. Better not to put any out before the dogs get sick from it.

Well, log cabins aren't what they used to be, and that will probably be the last time I go into a log cabin for a while.

As always, I'm very satisfied here. The food is excellent value for money. In contrast to Königstraße, the staff here are very friendly. Many thanks to Dugi for the service. Very clear and fast service, simply top-notch.

The service was very commendable; Mr. Dugi and his colleagues served us very friendly and attentively. The food was very well prepared and delicious. The salad was nice and fresh and crisp. The only complaint was the vitello tonnato – we were served a plate containing only thin slices of veal, decorated with capers and cucumber sticks. When we asked, the kitchen replied that the usual tuna sauce was hidden beneath the veal, and indeed, we found a wafer-thin layer beneath the meat. For us, as vitello tonnato lovers, this was an unusual interpretation of this dish. Therefore, one point deducted. In any case, the veal was very tasty. The steaks and the side dishes were also delicious. The crème caramel was divine!

Delicious food in an unparalleled atmosphere.

The service was all about selling, selling, selling – but lacking any tact – they still need to practice that 😂 It was really unpleasant. They just kept the remaining change; it was all too much for us, so we left it at that. Unfortunately, the meat was tough and didn't really taste like much. Otherwise, the staff were nice.

Today wasn't so great. The meat wasn't as usual, it was a bit tough, or one of the knives was blunt. It was a bit disappointing. Too bad.

Disappointing experience – inedible steak and poor service Unfortunately, a massive disappointment: My steak arrived completely burned, but raw inside. After complaining, it was grilled again – this time even more charred, but still completely (although inedible). Nevertheless, I was charged the full price, even though I couldn't eat the steak and it was returned. In the restaurant industry, the rule is: If a guest returns a dish due to poor quality, this should also be taken into account financially. Here, there was no goodwill of any kind – there was no reduced bill, and that would also have been inappropriate, since the food ultimately remained uneaten. Yet I had to pay the full price. It's a shame, because the restaurant has potential, but this way of treating a customer is unacceptable.

Blockhaus is always worth a visit.

Very central location near the main train station. The restaurant manager found a table for one person very quickly on a Sunday evening. Very friendly, pleasant service. The beef fillet steak was ordered medium, but it came out medium rare. But I prefer it that way rather than well done. The salad beforehand is really great, lovingly put together, with lots of ingredients and a good sauce. The steak comes with a baked potato and baked bread. Sour cream is also served separately. Overall a great steak. I had a large beer and a grappa to finish. The bill was €40. I would gladly come back; the quality is good and, above all, the service is very impressive.

You'll receive a very warm welcome, and the service team is very attentive. The food was superb, and the value for money was perfect. I'd be happy to go back.

The waitress didn't pay any attention upon arrival, even though the restaurant was barely busy. Afterward, I had to choose my own seat because the waitress was busy with other customers. It's a shame, but I can choose my own table in the future. The food was of so-so quality. The salad was snatched away without any fuss, five seconds after the last bite. Then came four small steaks (which were advertised), but they weren't as tender as usual. Vegetables? Mostly onions. Is the quality suffering? Plus point: Tomato ketchup was offered separately. As was the dessert menu, which I hadn't even ordered. And €6.70 for an apple juice spritzer... I hope I can enjoy it again next time I'm in Stuttgart....

The place is located near the train station. It is a nice place with friendly staff. For lovers of grilled meat it is the right place. My fillet was excellent. Absolutely recommended.

Fast and professional service, delicious, plentiful food.

We arrived without reservation and they seated us right away. The menu offers several options. I chose the one with a salad for starters and then a 225 gram fillet, which you can see in the photo accompanied by a potato stuffed with yogurt sauce and a garlic bruschetta.

We ate here last week. Unfortunately, the steak was a bit overcooked and tasted burnt with every bite. Otherwise, it was very, very tasty, and the service was super friendly and attentive. It's a bit of a shame that there are so many people milling around right in front of the restaurant, going about their daily business with beer, loud music, and conversation. So we didn't want to sit outside. Of course, the restaurant can't do anything about that—but it's still a shame.

It’s a restaurant that has an unbeatable standard in terms of meat. The accompaniments are all excellent. Special mention for the spinach. The salad is super fresh and the Italian dressing is delicious. The highlight of the show is the filet mignon. It’s simply heavenly. The service is very friendly. I reserved my table online. Everything worked very well. The fries were a little cold and the dessert choice a little limited. The menu is missing a hot brownie with vanilla ice cream.

The food was very well seasoned 🌿, prepared and to the point. The meat was very tender and well seared. The tartare was also super tasty. Nice staff, although full, waited less than 20 minutes. Burger very tasty, decent cooking level. Baked potato with sour cream and turkey steaks also very tasty. The bread and coleslaw were also worth a sin.

Rating for the Block House at the main train station (visit on March 6th, 2025, 12:00 p.m.) Today at 12:00 p.m. I was in the Block House at the main train station. Unfortunately, when I entered the restaurant I was greeted by a somewhat unfriendly waitress with glasses, which somewhat spoiled my first impression. Luckily, I turned to the waiter Elma – and that was the best decision. He was exceptionally friendly, helpful and really took his time. I placed a takeout order with him for my mom to the hospital and he packed everything carefully. His warm and professional manner made my visit completely positive. A big thank you to Elma for the great service! Employees like this make the difference. Because of him I would like to come back. 🤲🏽🙏🏽✨🌷☀️👏🏽

Delicious food and friendly staff.

Located in what appears to be a bustling tourist district in downtown Stuttgart, the Block House steakhouse comes through. I found the food to be good and the prices to be reasonable. I was not impressed with the service - lackluster at best - but that seems to be common here in Stuttgart. I had the Barbecue Steak Teller from the American Bistro section of the menu. It was a good cut of meat properly cooked. The fries were perfect. It came with a ramekin of BBQ sauce. I also ordered a side of Teriyaki-Pfefferrahm-Sauce which was ok, but didn't seem to have any hint of teriyaki that I could notice. It was good and affordable so I'll definitely return. Probably not on a Friday or Saturday night though. It gets busy.

If you want to eat a good steak, you definitely can't go wrong with Block House. The quality of the meat is excellent and the taste is very good. Without a reservation and during the usual "meal times" you have to allow some time until you are assigned a free seat. The ambience is nice and befits a steakhouse. The service is attentive and helpful. Quality of the food (steak, baked potatoes, salad, dessert) as already mentioned was very good. We'll definitely come back when we're in the mood for a good steak.

It is very narrowly furnished and very loud, the employee was also very loud.

You are assigned a place and you take off your clothes. Then at some point you find out that the grill is broken, thank you never again.

The food was delicious! The service this time was not so good. The server wasn't attentive at all. We sat with our plates after we finished eating for a good 15 minutes before they were cleared even though she walked by the table quite a few times seemingly with nothing to do. After she finally cleared the plates and we turned down the desert, she disappeared from the dining room, after 20 minutes or so, we had to go to the bar and ask for our check, which was brought by another server.

Something went wrong with our reservation. The lady at reception treated us in an impossible way and was very rude. You don't have to put up with something like that, we left... the very last thing like that.

We got there shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday. We hadn't reserved a table. The staff toured the inn with us and enabled the four of us to eat there. The food came quickly, it tasted excellent and the steaks were cooked extremely well. A steak with bread was accidentally brought to the table even though fries were ordered as a side dish. Another portion of fries was brought without any problems or additional costs. The staff was very nice and helpful.

After waiting for 20 minutes we left without service. There was little going on.

The quality of the food has impressed us for many years. We ate delicious steaks and the side dishes and salads were also delicious. Highly child-friendly. Even without a reservation, you can often get a table with a short wait.

I have been to you many times. Today my child and I got together. My child slept during dinner and hardly ate his children's plate at all. After I finished eating the worker came to me and asked if she should clean up, I said it would be for the kids to take away, and at the end of the checkout she said I didn't say anything. It's totally fine if she admits she didn't hear, rather than saying I didn't say it, and that children's plates aren't that expensive and I can pay for them again (actually I ordered a whole new one). Dissatisfied experience.

A good older restaurant, the tables are a bit too low for tall people (1m80 upwards) the food is very tasty, the location is also good, can't fault it and can be recommended.

Rarely have I had such a good steak. Despite the full restaurant, super nice and great service, fast service, delicious salad as a starter with fresh ingredients and delicious dressing. Main course with delicious baked potatoes and sour cream, wine recommendation went well. The restaurant is absolutely recommended.

I'm honestly surprised at the new price of the lunch special from €12.30 to €13.90. Huge increase and I seem to remember reading somewhere that the management wanted to reduce meat prices. With an increase of € 1.60 I hardly believe that 😒

I had the pleasure of being at the Block House Stuttgart at the end of the year. It was incredibly crowded and I was very grateful that I had reserved a table for myself and my companion in advance. I can't say what it's like on other days - but I can highly recommend a reservation. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed by a lady who was in charge of management and escorted to our table. This was truly exceptional as she was extremely friendly and accommodating. Shortly afterwards, an extremely dedicated waiter came to our table, who immediately brought us the cards and took our drink order. The service up to this point has been absolutely great - exactly how I imagine it! The menu was clear and clearly structured, which I think is great. There wasn't an endless selection of variations or add-ons like other steak restaurants. This made it quick and easy for us to decide on our dishes. And what can I say? The food was simply excellent. I haven't eaten as good a steak restaurant as I did here in a long time. You'll see it in the pictures - the quality was excellent, every detail was right, and it was a real treat! After dinner, I took the legendary pepper mixture to take home with me - a must for every fan of this house. I can only recommend everyone to come here. The food is first class and the service is second to none.

The steaks are tender and juicy - a real pleasure for the senses every time! The butter garlic bread is simply irresistible, I can never get enough of it. Even at home I continue to enjoy it. I really enjoy coming here with my friends to enjoy a delicious dinner and have a great time. The service is also very good. This year I even want to celebrate my birthday here!

We went to the Block House for dinner and ate all rump steak, the food was great, the location was great and our service was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing that bothered us was that we made a reservation and still had to wait a few minutes for our table.

Arrived shortly before closing time. But we still got something to eat. We both ordered medium sirloin steak. Mine was medium, my companion's was too well done. And unfortunately the meat of my companion was somehow sour, i.e. overturned. He received a new one after complaining. It was just that it was very done. But at least it didn't tip over. Otherwise everything was ok. It's just a shame when it's very difficult to find a restaurant that's open on a Sunday evening in a "big" city like Stuttgart...
