A very beautiful place. Superb food in a fabulous setting.

I'd reconsider the idea of ​​greeting guests with "Dogs are not allowed here." We won't be making the detour there again anyway.

For a family reunion, we visited the Blockhaus am Wolzensee in Rathenow. The restaurant is beautifully situated directly on the lake and, with its rustic decor, initially makes a cozy impression. Unfortunately, the rest of the visit didn't confirm this positive first impression. The manager's demeanor was unfriendly. She humiliated me in front of the other guests, which created an unpleasant atmosphere, especially during a larger family gathering. The rest of the staff tried hard, but could only partially offset the negative overall impression. The food also didn't live up to expectations. The portions were quite small, and the dishes were rather mediocre in taste. The prices are clearly too high for the quantity and quality offered. Therefore, the value for money is unfortunately not right. One positive aspect is the beautiful location on Wolzensee, which is perfect for a leisurely stroll after dinner. However, the negative impressions outweigh the positive – especially at a family reunion where you'd actually like to feel at home.

The service was okay. Unfortunately, the food wasn't what I would have liked. I had pork medallions, which were unfortunately overcooked, the rosemary potatoes were peeled, and the vegetables were almost raw. All in all, I wouldn't recommend them. It's a real shame. The restaurant is located directly on Lake Wolzensee, a great location. In the summer, you can sit outside and look directly out onto the water. The decor is rustic.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't good. Why do they serve frozen vegetables? There are so many seasonal vegetables available right now that would go perfectly with the meat and fish dishes. The risotto wasn't a risotto. If the chef isn't adept at his craft, then take it off the menu. And what did you do with the sauces? Why did they have a pudding consistency? How much cornstarch do you put in them? Making a sauce base is so easy. Your service is friendly but a bit overwhelmed when it gets too busy. Unfortunately, there isn't a good restaurant in Rathenow—a shame. All the best to you anyway!

You're not allowed into the dining room with a small, dry dog ​​and a reserved separate table (not just with a large, wet dog!). No explanation as to why this was still possible six months ago. Definitely not recommended for dog lovers.

We celebrated our mom's 83rd birthday today. It was truly a warm welcome at the log cabin. We were very pleasantly surprised by the welcome, the food, and the service. A truly lovely, fun, and welcoming evening. The food was delicious, the service simply amazing. Polite and entertaining. Even the farewell was so personal and kind. We'd love to go again.

A great log cabin almost directly on the water. Very good food and super friendly service. We did have to wait a bit, but the manager explained that was due to a lack of staff. It wasn't an issue for us; it wouldn't be a nuisance! Because the cabin is a bit out of the way, I can imagine it might not be easy to find good, willing staff. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves and will be back. Keep up the good work.

We ate here on Friday. The blonde lady was quite unfriendly and rude. And the food? Oh God, I've never eaten so badly. Vegetables from a packet, ready-made sauces, and lukewarm food. And the game was never game. And the croquettes—what could you possibly go wrong with them, except for old oil? Conclusion: We do NOT recommend them.

Very idyllic, but very unfriendly. At the next table they at least asked if you wanted mayonnaise or ketchup or any sauce for your fries etc. We didn't have any. Probably because that was where the young ladies sat... the blonde lady who served us wasn't in the mood anyway. The food looked great until I noticed that everything was soaked in oil. The meat was otherwise great, but the side dishes were very, very salty. I could practically pour off the oil and soak it up with the cloth that was provided. I also asked beforehand whether I should have porcini mushrooms or chanterelles with the meat - I rarely eat mushrooms like that - and the only answer I got was: you must know... what a shame.

Ordered schnitzel with chanterelles. Tasted okay. There was very little sauce and only a handful of chanterelles. Overall, not worth the money, and the staff was unfriendly!

We went there for lunch today without a reservation. Since there were several reservations, we were assigned a table outside. We received friendly and quick service. We had to wait a while for the food, as it got windy and cold outside. When I asked if it was possible to get a table inside, the waiter already saw what I wanted and offered us a table inside. The food was delicious, and the selection was very large. This was our second time there and we really can't share a negative experience.

The manager is very unfriendly and should rethink the way he treats guests. My mom doesn't want to go there anymore... what a shame, really.

Furthermore, the restaurant seems to be chronically understaffed – the few employees seem stressed and unfortunately let the guests know it. On our second visit, we even left before ordering because the tone was so unpleasant. It's a real shame – guests shouldn't be treated like that.

BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION Very unfriendly staff. We were there on July 12th and were sent away three hours before closing because they were no longer in the mood to serve food. A week later, we went back and the waitress complained about why we were moving seats again, since the table was already set. If you treat customers like that, you shouldn't be surprised if you don't visit this place again.

Where do I start? €210... I reserved an outside table weeks in advance for 5 people (+ baby + 3 dogs). We were seated on the terrace, which was totally pointless because it was incredibly crowded. From 12:30 to about 4:00 p.m., the front (lawn) seats were unoccupied, even though they said "reserved." I don't understand why. When I asked if the awning could be extended a little more, I was told: "I'll have to ask, I don't know anything about that" (which was then forgotten). It would make more sense to number the menu. As customers, we simply can't pronounce some things well, and the waiter had to look at the menu and then write down what we wanted. Venison goulash came as a "fillet" with potatoes and mixed vegetables (looked like it came from the Rewe frozen food section), so goulash doesn't look like anything to us. Tuna steak: vegetables were cold. Overall, the food was okay, but not outstanding for the price. What we also found quite odd was that you had to pay for the toilets, which beachgoers also use. I've never met a restaurant that doesn't offer clean restrooms for its guests. We wouldn't go there again.

Wir waren gestern Nachmittag nach einem Ausflug am Wolzensee mit Großeltern und Hund zu Kaffe und Kuchen auf der Außenterasse des Blockhauses eingekehrt. Nach einer 1/2 Stunde unterm Tisch wurde unser Hund unruhig und legte sich mit dem mit der Brust auf Ftauchens Schoß und wollte kuschen, als wir lautstarkes Geschrei vom vermeindlichen Eigentümer oder Pächter vernahmen: "Das könnten wir zu Hause machen. Andere würden sich noch auf die Kissen setzen wollen!" Der Hund war jedoch nicht auf den Kissen, diese waren sauber! Der Herr konnte sich jedoch nicht beruhigen und inzinierte sich vor allen Besuchern. Selbst als die Großeltern gezahlt hatten, wir derweil mit dem Hund das Lokal verlassen hatten, wurden die Großeltern von den Betreibern noch dumm angemacht. Absolut unmöglich! Wir werden jedenfalls das Lokal auf Lebenszeit meiden und warnen vorsorglich alle Hundefreunde und Tierliebhaber! Unserer Meinung nach sollte die Betreiber gleich ein Schild am Eingang anbringen, dass Hunde nicht erwünscht sind. Es steht außer Frage, dass wir grundsätzlich für Schäden, die unser Hund verursacht, auch gerade stehen. Aber darum ging es überhaupt nicht.

To round off a day with the family, we decided to reserve a table. The good reviews have only reinforced the positive impression of the website and menu. We placed a lot of emphasis on what the menu offered because our family prefers different dishes (that's the reason for eating out). So went there on the day of the reservation and sat down. The interior is relatively small but cozy, very quiet on the day (just after Christmas). Well and then the medium to large shock: the menu is halved, specifically the part that made us decide to choose this restaurant. So that meant there were no burgers and pasta (and other things; at least 3 sides simply disappeared). So choosing what to eat was rather difficult. Nevertheless, everyone found something. The starters were good, as were the main courses (mainly schnitzel). All in all a lovely evening and good food. The defect in the menu was due to the upcoming company holidays, but we would have liked this to have been mentioned when making the reservation. Definitely recommended in summer with a full menu and nice weather.

Some of the food is really below average. You notice that you have landed in the country and there is no competition here. So if you just pop unseasoned mixed vegetables out of the steamer onto your plate, you should probably start with a fast food chain. If you complain about the food, you get a rude response and instead of compensation or alternatives, you end up with the full bill. So I've never experienced anything like that. And then the kitchen staff comes out and puts their arm around your shoulder in a pseudo-nice way, WITHOUT ASKING. Professionalism is really a foreign word here.

Unfortunately very disappointed with the food! Scallopina del Pepe Verde. The pork medallions were completely burnt on top and tasted bitter...the vegetables were as if they had been thawed and completely unseasoned, not even a hint of salt could be tasted. The rosemary potatoes were just as tasteless. The green pepper sauce was a joke! Diluted hollondaise sauce with green peppercorns. The cream on the ice cream came from the spray bottle. It tastes better at every snack bar... the prices for this food are not appropriate The only thing you could eat was the starter. I will never eat there again.

The food is higher priced but tends to be average. Fries were good. The location outside is nice, inside you have the feeling of being in a private office. Absolutely difficult toilet situation: you share this with bathers next door: one per gender: you have to insert 20 cent coins to go to the toilet or wash your hands, and if it's occupied, you can wait a long time because bathers and restaurant visitors are each other Have to share 1 toilet. Went to the log cabin at lunchtime today. When we arrived we were the only guests, when we left there were 8 more people. The service was there regularly, asking if everything was okay but never intrusive, perfect all around. The food...especially bruschetta, which there was nothing wrong with. For the main course, my colleague had a cheeseburger XXL, on request without tomato and double bacon, which was also taken into account and the taste was probably very good. My Wiener Schnitzel in mushroom cream, short and sweet, perfect 👌 I think the location is great and the only criticism or improvement, maybe I overlooked it. Any refreshing drink for summer, as an option with alcohol that is served nice and cold would be the i point. And if you come with children, not in sight but within earshot, a playground for impatient kids.

Very nicely located on the lake, there is also a swimming area next door... And the concerts that take place there are amazing, right in front of the lake. I always enjoy coming there.
