Vorab, wir sind auf Empfehlung eines guten Freundes nach hier gekommen und vielleicht hatte die Brauhausküche keinen idealen Tag. Wie immer in kurzen Worten: Lokation: 9/10 Ambiente: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Speisen: 4/10 Getränke: 8/10 Preis/Leistung: 6/10 Kurzum: Die super Lage in direkter Nähe des alten Elbtunnels schwemmt die Touristen automatisch ins Lokal, was man der Qualität der Speisen leider deutlich anmerkt. Masse statt Klasse!

Went on a Monday night and it was surprisingly busy. Had a beef steak cooked medium with chips which was fine. Ice cream dessert was a bit boring. They had a seasonal Festbier which was excellent. Overall I would recommend.

Fast service, Nice menu with matis fish, mashed potatoes , dark beer and with lemonade , for 2 persons we paid 70 euro , reasonable

Ein riesiges und uriges Bier-Restaurant auf zwei Etagen verteilt mit sehr raschem Service. Einmal hatten wir den Spanferkel Krustenbraten und das 2. Mal natürlich die Haxen, dazu das hausgemachte Blockbräu aus der Brauerei, die man im hinteren Teil im Erdgeschoss hinter einer Glasfront sehen kann. Die urchige Hausmannskost hat uns sehr geschmeckt und in jedem Fall war man immer satt nach einen solchen Teller. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt durchaus, was man auch daran sieht, dass das grosse Lokal wirklich an beiden Abenden vollausgebucht war. Wir werden beim nächsten Hamburg-Besuch sicher wieder kommen.

Am liebsten keinen Stern, das schlimmste Essen was wir eh gegessen habe in Hamburg. Die Bratkartoffeln ist reinste Katastrophe ebenso wie der Backfisch. Das matje mit Brot war das schlimmste alles volle Fischgräte. Also wir werden nie wieder da Essen. Sie sollten sich schämen sowas anzubieten. Wenn ich an die Preise denke könnte ich kotzen. Wie hatte. Die Teller fast voll zurück geben lassen. Es gab keine Entschuldigungen .

Beautiful brewery right on the banks of the Elbe. Delicious beer and delicious food. But the salad portion could definitely be larger.

Super nice location with really fast service. However, the prices are ridiculous in relation to the quantity and quality. Pretzel "Basket" consists of a pretzel. For just under 16 euros, the “All Cheese” dish includes 1 half-ball of Obadzda, 2 slices of packaged Camembert, 2 slices of onion, 2 slices of cucumber, two half radishes, and 2 wafer-thin slices of horseradish. The price would not be acceptable even for homemade food.

Here you pay more for the name than for a unique restaurant. The location is fine, the service, depending on the person, ranges from awkward to uninviting to warmly welcoming. However, I expect a little more hygiene, especially in a place like this and because it is a tourist magnet. Sticky tables, stained chairs, unfortunately a bit unsightly. I wasn't expecting great quality, but it could have been a little more pleasant. It's a shame, but it still shows me why I personally don't like supporting such well-known businesses.

Super! Been there often, including visiting friends and family

Had the schweinshaxe on my first visit and had the "Viennese Style" Schnitzel on my second visit. Both tasted amazing, and the ambiance is great too!

The food on offer there is certainly a top price-performance ratio, but some of the waiters would really be better off cleaning the streets. Somewhat disrespectful and out of place. It's a real shame because the people in the kitchen are absolutely top notch.

Down-to-earth cuisine with no frills awaits you here. Whether vegetarian, fish or meat - everyone will find something here. The salad with golden perch in beer batter is recommended. The light beer is nice and tasty and goes well with it. The service is attentive and quick. At 12 noon on Saturday we had no trouble getting a seat.

A beautiful brewery right on Bridge 3. The roof terrace with a panoramic view over the harbor is also highly recommended. The naturally cloudy Blockbräu is a pleasantly fresh light beer with a mild original spice. Delicious! In the lower area, food is served from an open brewery kitchen. It was also noticeable that everything was very clean. Would love to come back.

Well located place to get straight to the ferry to the musicals. You should make a reservation. Great view on the roof terrace.

So for the beer and the location, the visit is definitely highly recommended! The food was okay so far, only the knuckle was great in terms of taste - with the other dishes (schnitzel, sausage, fries, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes) you can find fault with everything. But the prices are okay and fair, that would be complaining at a high level. (As is well known, the company belongs to the blockchain with Block House & Jim Block... so a lot of it will probably be finished)... But it's definitely enough to satisfy your hunger. But the beer is really worth mentioning: changing and seasonal beers are developed in-house by the master brewer and always implemented very well. We come here regularly to have a few beers. In summer you can also go on the huge roof terrace!

Great location, very friendly staff BUT calling the salad a "big salad" is really cheeky; However, it would be a starter for the price of a main course! But taste good

The place is close to Landungsbruecke, an area with a lot of tourism and movement. We ordered a Hungarian style Goulash and a Hamburger Steak. The Hamburger Steak was VERY salty, soggy and the only decent thing were the fries (salty too). The Goulash meat was VERY tough and the sauce barely had any flavor. The only decent thing was the mashed potatoes. We ordered a house blonde beer and there was nowhere to get it...Super bitter, very carbonated and barely tasted like beer. Ultimately, a disaster of a dinner.

Fantastic place for a cozy evening. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio for the food was not as expected. Small map and very clear in terms of quantity! The service was friendly and quick.

It's great to sit on the roof terrace but you don't need a mini side salad for almost €8.

I was in Hamburg for two days and ate there on both days. Once in the evening and once at lunchtime and I had reserved in advance on both days. So when I ate there in the evening, I wasn't all that impressed. I had to wait 15 minutes for my drink after ordering. I then ordered my food and again had to wait almost 25 minutes for my food. Other guests who came after me got their drinks and food faster and before me. It was very crowded, but you don't have to wait 15 minutes for a drink... When I was there at lunchtime everything went much faster and it wasn't quite as crowded as the night before. This time the drink I ordered came very quickly and I didn't have to wait long for my food this time either. The food was very tasty but quite expensive. What struck me negatively were the drinks prices. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the prices. Had a 0.5 liter Alster water and it cost €6.50. Since the beer comes from the brewery there, I can understand the high price. What I can't understand is the price for a small 0.33 liter cola. It costs a whopping €5! I think the prices of non-alcoholic drinks should be revised again! The service staff were nice and making reservations went well. But I will come back next time I visit Hamburg.

Very impressive place (especially on the terrace), good beer, but mediocre food. A turkey salad (or presumed to be such) has two pieces of meat (of obvious frozen origin) and a few salad leaves, served on a flat plate; cost: 17.90 euros.

We ate there twice, the minced steak was unfortunately only mediocre and the turkey salad was also okay for the money, we would have expected more. Very nice waiters

50% of the food was forgotten, after reminding again the last meal came 40 minutes later. No proper apology or compensation. Full price was collected.

The view was beautiful, tables and benches were full of old birds... We had goulash, but probably sauce from the bag, hardly any seasoning.

The hamburger steak came even though I ordered medium and it was delicious :) My wife ordered the herring and it was also very delicious. I enjoyed Riesling wine for myself and my wife was happy with Weizen beer. It's a local place with a very good view.

It's really great there, we were up on the sun terrace with a view of the water and the food was great and the service was friendly 👍

Large, multi-level restaurant on the harbor. Terrace with a great view. The service was attentive, friendly and quick. The food was generally delicious. Rustic, hearty German cuisine. However, only 3 stars here because the selection of vegetarian alternatives and the portion were relatively small. We had a smaller map than shown on the internet. The large salad with fried fish was more of a fried fish with a side salad, because the salad was really small/not much. Also not diverse (leaf lettuce, cucumber, peppers). No bread included. The rest of the group enjoyed it (with meat). So maybe just a restaurant for exclusive meat eaters.

Very good brewery with the opportunity to sit on the great terrace when the weather is nice. Despite the size, it's not a tourist rip-off. The food was very tasty, the beer was very tasty and the service was very friendly despite the crowds.

Unfortunately, this had nothing to do with the good Block House food. The BIG SALAD consisted of a few wilted leaves and soft tomatoes. A pity. At lunchtime only one area was protected by parasols, others were not opened. We had to sit inside. Our waiter was ok.

It is beautifully located directly at the Landungsbrücken. The view from the terrace is really great. There is nothing to complain about in terms of service. I've been there twice now and I think it's good there. The food is also delicious.

After our drinks only came after we asked several times (other guests who came after us had already had their food), our food came much later (ordered at the same time and less elaborate than that of the other guests), which tasted more like frozen food but was reasonably priced Handwork lay. 1 fried fish and 2 pretzels... Wait an hour and keep asking. At least the drinks could have been brought if later guests had even half eaten their schnitzel...

Great place to eat traditional german food in a nice enviroment. The rooftop terrace is really nice. Will come back in the future for sure.

We were in Hamburg last week. We visited the well-known Block Brau brewery. It is located on the banks of the Elbe. The beer was very tasty, the food was not. We ordered knuckle, it wasn’t even fresh. Very dry and it looks like it was frozen 3 times. It cost 20 euros. That's why the food is 2 stars. The atmosphere and service are 5 stars.

The food was grotesque and extremely pricy. Service was great and quick! But the food was absolutely not worth the price. I had the pasta, which costs 15€ and it tasted like my 7 year old nephew made it.

The location is unique and truly magnificent. In the best weather on the terrace, with a view of the harbor. This is a dream. The food is solid and the beer is tasty. Of course slightly higher prices, but OK for the location. Melanie's excellent service deserves special mention. She was super friendly, not intrusive and really made the visit pleasant. Food was good. Service not so great. After 9 p.m. it got uncomfortable.

Service was good, food came quickly and was hot. The block quality fries including mayonnaise, that's about it for the positive things. The knuckle was crispy, but very dry. The schnitzel wasn't crispy, but the taste was ok. The cream mushrooms shown on the menu were billed as mushroom cream sauce. €4.50 for four half mushrooms is bordering on outrageous. The sauce certainly wasn't cooked without powder. The menu specifically said creamed mushrooms (as of 07/24). The maximum you would otherwise pay for 0.33 liters of Sprite is a maximum in a disco or an upscale restaurant. For me it was the first and last visit. During the meal we were not asked if everything was OK. A later criticism of the haxe was only answered by saying that no guest had ever complained about it. The other guests at my table have been there several times and have also complained about the poor quality.

Went to the Blockbräu at the Landungsbrücken today and to be honest I was disappointed. I didn't think the price/performance was that good. We gave the cutlery back because there was still leftover food from the last guest stuck on it. Mayonnaise was forgotten (although it was added later, but it was still weak given the manageable number of guests). The portion of salad was manageable and partly... very large pieces of lettuce. Unfortunately there was no bread with it. Location is great but the rest still has room for improvement. For the money I get more for my money somewhere else (close to the Alster).

Rarely have I been able to enjoy such a smooth, fruity, pleasant beer. What’s more, in such a great atmosphere. Nice staff, hardly any waiting times for drinks. I had to take another bottle with me. This will then be served at home in Hesse. Today: July 27th, 24 I came here with the family. Everyone excited and fed up. The beer is still a delight

The service is really great. The view on the terrace is great. The food was delicious, but there is not the entire menu on the terrace, which can be read at the entrance below. You probably have to sit down for that. We had the light beer to drink, goulash, spaghetti with vegetable bolognese, the meatballs as a snack and the fried fish fillets.

Fits, delicious drinks (own beer) and the food anyway (hearty). When the weather is good, the roof terrace is a must.

After my stomach operation I was so happy about this little potato soup. The soup was delicious, the atmosphere was great and afterwards I took a great walk through the old Elbe tunnel.

Salad may come. partly out of the bag and is probably not always the freshest, service is quick but impersonal, typical tourist stall...there are better things in the nearby area (also in terms of price/performance) EDIT: I didn't have a chance to get in touch, until I had eaten there was no complaining at the table. I think you can see in the picture that the salad wasn't freshly prepared. It's nice that you claim that they are freshly prepared - but somehow that's not true ;-).

The food and the view was great. The beer was okay, but the menu only offered two kinds....poor for a brewery. Hefeweissen or Helles. One of the waiters was a bit rude, but that's the German mentality. We can recommend the fish filet though, which was fresh and delicious.

Yesterday we visited the roof terrace. The location is great. The food was quite expensive, but the location made up for it. The mashed potatoes were outstanding! Unfortunately I was a little unhappy with the beer. I don't like light or wheat. But that doesn't affect the rating. My husband had the wheat and thought it was delicious. The service was very friendly. We'd love to come back.

An excellent pub with delicious beer, although the selection is limited. I tried the goulash soup and it was very tasty.

Delicious food, something for everyone, rounded off by good drinks, right at the port of Hamburg, what more could you want? Top service, of course a little too loud for normal conversations, but then you just have to talk a little louder 😊

The Blockbräu, both the Helle and the Weizen, were very well balanced, tasty and served well chilled. The service was at best polite, not very friendly and in no way warm. The food was at best edible. The rump steak, ordered rare, was medium rare to medium. Goulash and the spaghetti with vegetable bolonaise were quite bland, the sauces lacked any finesse and were very reminiscent of convenience products. The serving style matched the slingshot service, loveless, uninspired, industrial, a tourist trap. The great view on the roof terrace made up for it a little. To drink a good beer, a good port of call, the food...well...

Very busy but service was fast. Menus were delicious. A little loud there, otherwise everything was flawless.

We went to Blockbrau last saturday and although we were late for our reservation, it wasn't a problem. The brews were great, the meat tender and a relaxed atmosphere. The people who work here are enthousiastic en service minded. Would recommend for a typical fun German experience.
