The food was great. Ivan deserves a raise! He was a fantastic waiter! He practically fed me.

The restaurant presents itself well both inside and out. The service is very attentive, and the transition to English is seamless. The highlight of the dinner was the Hereford rib-eye steak. The meat was delicious, although the doneness wasn't quite what I ordered – instead of medium, I received something medium-well done. The side dishes for the main course are relatively sparse. The salad that accompanies the order is served as a starter, leaving the steak somewhat unsatisfactory. Despite some minor complaints about the main course, dessert was exceptional. The lava cake was the perfect size and proportions, and its flavor was exquisite. This menu item significantly improved my overall rating. Rating: 5/5.

The ambiance is truly inviting, and you immediately feel comfortable. We had seats right next to the open kitchen. Unfortunately, we observed that the food wasn't freshly cooked but rather squeezed from foil or trays and placed on the plates. It seems everything is just reheated, with only the steak being freshly grilled. This shocked us. During the meal, we weren't asked if we'd like another drink or if everything was alright. When we declined a tip at the checkout, we weren't even given a goodbye or thanked for our visit. The waiter stormed off the table in a huff. Very poor manners for a waiter. Anyone who appreciates good food should avoid this place.

Yesterday, I went to Blockhouse with some friends. The service was absolutely perfect. We had waiter Martin. The food was also incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. I eat out quite often, but most restaurants don't impress me. Usually, it's okay, but nothing more. Blockhouse puts every other restaurant in Erfurt to shame. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for the perfect meal and the most attentive service in Erfurt.

We had lunch here for my birthday. Besides the wonderful service and the lovely little birthday surprises, my 7-month-old nephew was treated like royalty. He even received a small gift at the end. Children and babies are welcome at this restaurant. Of course, all the food and drinks were of the highest quality and delicious. If you have children and are looking for a good steakhouse in Erfurt, this is the place to go. To top it all off, we received a memory folder with a specially taken photo inside. Many thanks to the steakhouse team for the wonderful birthday lunch.

Excellent and friendly service, a prime location in the heart of Erfurt, a very good selection of steaks, and the price-performance ratio is excellent for fine dining/upscale dining. We love eating at Blockhouse and highly recommend it!

However, the portion was a bit small for the price, so we were hungry again after only half an hour. The service was exceptionally kind and friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant; it almost feels like being in an American restaurant.

Service 10 out of 5! They made the impossible possible. They went out of their way to get us a table. Highly professional. The steak, which is what it's all about, was fantastic. We felt completely at ease. Many thanks to the whole team.

The welcome was very friendly and we immediately felt comfortable (even with a small child)! It was the second Sunday of Advent, and we still got a table without a reservation. We were looked after the whole time without being intrusive. The food was delicious, but next time I would swap the fries for a baked potato. The "chain" feel initially put me off, but I was wrong! Keep up the good work!

What we experienced here was beyond disrespectful. The waiter—the young man with the tattooed arm—initially seemed polite, but as soon as we asked questions about the food or wanted a small change, his mood soured and he became noticeably unfriendly. The fact that he then badmouthed us behind our backs, and that we even overheard it, is simply unprofessional and shameful. Given the similar reviews, this behavior unfortunately doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. The restaurant urgently needs to reconsider who it employs and how it trains its staff—this kind of treatment of guests is a serious quality issue. On the plus side: the food was very good.

The food was okay. They were very accommodating to allergies. Unfortunately, the allergens weren't listed directly on the menu, which isn't ideal. The meat was cooked medium as requested, but unfortunately, it was overcooked at the beginning (you could taste the burnt, black crust). The service was a bit too pushy and rushed. Saying no is difficult to accept if you don't want an appetizer; you get the feeling you're pressured to order something extra. The atmosphere is very loud and somewhat cramped. It was definitely better in the past, which is a shame…

I'm writing this review because of the staff's behavior. Today I came in and was served wonderfully by an older man. But the sideways glances from the younger staff. I was there in September, and it seemed to me they were at the very least discussing the customer, at the very most wondering if she was Russian. Apparently, judging by my accent. Today I was served by a wonderful man, but seeing the same young men, I felt uneasy and wanted to leave the place as soon as possible. Regarding the food, it was a bit bland. The meat lacked salt. I ordered the Mrs. Ramsteak. Also, butter should really be served with the steak. Therefore, staff should discuss customers behind closed doors. Not at their workstations :)

I have never written a restaurant review before, but this time I felt I had to, because as a Spaniard, I was genuinely embarrassed by the behavior of a fellow countrywoman. The food was good, but the atmosphere was very disappointing. The staff member at the bar repeatedly shouted very loudly and in a rather rude manner in Spanish – apparently assuming that no one could understand her. However, one should always expect that guests might understand the language. This behavior was very disturbing and unprofessional for us.

Steak & Burger Excellent service – consistently reliable, friendly, and professional. We've always been completely satisfied with the service. The steaks are generally very good and a safe bet. The hamburgers are more a matter of taste: they taste different from the usual varieties, not bad, but definitely a unique style. Some will love them, others might find them an acquired taste. Overall, a solid choice for steak lovers in Erfurt.

Three times in Rostock in the summer, and three times in Erfurt in the fall. The Mastercut steak is amazing, and so is the filet mignon. Excellent service. It's a shame this steakhouse isn't in Halle (Saale). I'd say we're huge fans, having been for almost 20 years. 😅

Lunch at the Blockhaus am Anger: a dry rosé, fresh salad, and a medium-rare T-bone steak. Juicy, rustically presented, with honest flavor – no frills, just the way you like it. Solid service, and good value for money. Top-notch for a chain steakhouse.

We didn't have a reservation, but a very friendly waiter still seated us, even though everything was already reserved for later. The staff was very friendly, funny, and entertaining. The appetizer salad is always delicious, and our steak was excellent. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is modern, cozy, and comfortable at the same time—with a great view of the old town. A big compliment also to Basel, whose friendliness and attentiveness made the service particularly pleasant. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back!

The steaks are really good and the service is very friendly... It's also great for children; they get something to color and a gift at the end. The prices are a bit steep, of course... but what do you expect from a steak restaurant? We always enjoy coming here.

It was our first time there, and I have to say, the taste was really good. But the portions are ridiculous. I had two tiny pieces of meat, a bit of potato gratin, and some vegetables for a whopping €25. I think it was our first and last visit, as I don't think the price-performance ratio is fair.

We visited Block House Erfurt for the first time in a long time, and we were totally disappointed. You'd expect more for the money; the taste was nothing special, and half the food was missing. You sit at the table with empty glasses, and no one asks if everything's okay or if you'd like another drink. We'd definitely prefer Texas again for our next trip.

The portions are getting smaller and smaller, and the service, unfortunately, is getting worse. Empty plates sat on the table for 20 minutes without being noticed by the supervisor or waitress. Is this high-end chain restaurant? What a pity.

Great location with a quiet outdoor seating area right by the Angerbrunnen fountain. An ideal stop to relax and refuel after a long walk in the city. We particularly enjoyed the passion fruit Aperol and the burata. The goulash soup was very small but delicious. Like everything else we ordered. The price/performance ratio is perfectly acceptable. Hence 5 stars deluxe. Top service. Top location. Top food. And Tabaluga is right next door. 😂

Today at the Block House in Erfurt, I found out that the pepper cream sauce with green pepper I ordered didn't contain a single green peppercorn and was slightly spicy/sweet and fruity. The waiter who brought it and the waitress who took my order clearly stated that it was the pepper cream sauce. I still doubt it, as I remembered it differently from a previous visit. The steak was OK, not great. So: a steak mecces, expensive, the staff are questionable. I prefer the Louisiana in Erfurt a thousand times over.

Awful awful service... The service is so bad in Erfurt BlockHouse. The waiters dissappear and you wait forever for your order. Then they bring the salad and the cold steak and forget to bring butter, bread and sauce. The Erfurtrter Block House definitely needs a good manager to control the staff. We paid more than 100 euro fir this shitty service.

We were at the Blockhaus in Erfurt a week ago Saturday and, as always, felt very, very comfortable. Martin's service was outstanding: attentive, warm, and with a pleasant, friendly conversation that made the visit special. We were there for dinner. Summery weather. We sat outside. Our server, Julia, was amazing. 🤩 Friendly, witty, direct, and confident. A very personable woman and well-informed about everything in the restaurant. You can rely on Julia's recommendations. But when she says something is "good," that's an understatement. When she recommends something as good, it's going to be amazing. The price-performance ratio was right. We'll be happy to come back.

Without us having asked for it, we received a small birthday present from the house, including a photo and sparkling wine. The food was delicious; the steaks were super tender and cooked to perfection, and the appetizers were also very tasty. I can highly recommend the waiter, David. He was funny, relaxed, and simply personable. He joked around with the kids and us too. We felt very comfortable. The food arrived quickly and was delicious.

Yesterday we had a delicious meal with a reservation. There were three of us for lunch, and it wasn't very busy. The food came quickly and was perfect. The steak menu is highly recommended. The food prices are fair, but, as is often the case, the drinks are a bit overpriced. Overall, it was a nice visit and I highly recommend it.

The food was okay, but not what I expected at Block House. The meat was very tender but completely flavorless; it didn't even taste remotely like beef. It's a real shame; I had hoped for more. What was truly outstanding was the service; it's rarely been as good as this one. Other restaurants could learn a thing or two from that.

Simply amazing!!! We celebrated a birthday. I can only say that the food and the service from all the staff made for a wonderful evening... The tenderloin and the potato gratin, as well as the birthday surprise from the staff, were exceptional. We especially remember Julia, the restaurant manager. Always delicious... 😋 Very friendly service. Here in Erfurt, you can also sit outside – with the soothing sound of a fountain in the background. But the scandals surrounding the Block family, which we hear and read about in the press, somehow make me doubt whether I want to spend my money here.

Hello, I was on vacation, sorry about that ;) ... luckily, Julia took wonderful care of us. A super dedicated team – from the kitchen to the service and even the chef! They catered to the guests' wishes (thanks to Murat – we're still smiling today ;) ). We felt completely at home and 'almost' like we were with friends, even though it was our first time in Erfurt. We would have liked a large beer... but you can't have everything ;) We 100% recommend the Block House – even when the place is full – they always find a solution to get a table.
