The food is rather bland. It lacks any pizzazz. The atmosphere is far too loud and very cramped. The service is friendly and quick. The wait time for food is also okay.

A super cool place where all the staff are really friendly and make the evening enjoyable. We were there with a larger group, so we had to reserve three tables, but that wasn't a problem. The food and drinks were really delicious, and the selection of cocktails and drinks was fantastic!

The atmosphere is nice! The service is too! Unfortunately, we waited over an hour for the burgers. The patties were burnt on two burgers, and the fries on two portions were cold. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good dining experience!

A fairly quiet place, considering it's close to Freiburg's city center, with generous portions. Be patient, though, as the wait times for both ordering and eating are quite long by Italian standards.

Extremely good food :) We've been coming to Dresden for two years now, passing through from France, and we're always impressed! I highly recommend it to everyone :) Especially the Fuchs fries, the Wiener schnitzel, and the waffles just like Grandma used to make.

According to Google Maps, the Blaue Fuchs was open until 1 a.m. today, but the last round was at 11:30, and at 12:10, we and the other tables were kicked out. Completely understandable if you, as a server, want to finish work a little earlier when it's not busy... But we drove the 30 minutes to Freiburg just to go to the Blaue Fuchs, and it was a bit of a bummer, especially because all the tables were occupied, meaning it was pretty busy. So don't expect the times to be accurate. Also, the waitress was totally annoyed and didn't even offer us to-go cups, instead she just yelled us out. What a shame!

Packed on a Tuesday evening. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Especially impressive considering the number of people there. The beers are great and reasonably priced, too. We felt at home here.

Great restaurant right in the Altstadt. There's a nice outdoor area to sit when the weather is nice and you can hear the stream because it's so nearby. The service is really friendly and attentive and brought our drinks out quickly after we ordered them. And while this place is great to sit and have just a drink, we got lunch here as well. I got the Schnitzel and my date got the Hähnchenpfanne from the rotating lunch specials menu. Both were great, though I wasn't a huge fan of the mushroom(?) sauce that came with the Schnitzel. I needed a small pick-me-up after my beer, so my date got the €1 espresso that you can add to any lunch special and we shared that as a dessert. Very solid lunch spot if you're exploring Freiburg or just a nice place to sit and rest with a drink while you soak in the atmosphere.

We were there on a Friday afternoon. I was very expectant, as I've been there several times and have always been very satisfied. The food was good, although we did wait a long time for it, but this was acceptable. For dessert, we ordered two waffles when the table was cleared. Unfortunately, we had to wait 55 minutes for them... During that time, no one even came to order more drinks or let us know how long it would take. When I asked after 40 minutes, I was told the waffles would be there in 5 minutes. Unfortunately, not! This review is accordingly disappointing. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it. The Blue Fox has declined dramatically!

We'll definitely be back. My tarte flambée was simply perfect and enormous. And the non-alcoholic gin and tonic was very refreshing. Friendly, cheerful service.

We loved the food; the Caesar salad was delicious. The service was very friendly, considering we were tourists and a large group of nine people. Everything arrived safely, with excellent quality and service.

Highly recommended, especially for vegetarians/vegans! You may have to wait a bit for your food, but it tastes all the better for it.

We were there with a group of 19 people for lunch during the week. We had made a reservation in advance. We were all able to sit outside. The food was excellent and arrived very quickly. Within an hour of arriving, everyone was fed and very satisfied. I would definitely recommend it 👍🏼

There were fewer people than reserved, and the waiter immediately told me I should have called in. (The place was completely empty inside.) I couldn't change the booking online either. 🤡 The guy was completely unfriendly. I can't recommend it, and the drinks and food took a long time.

I had one of the best gnocchi of my life there! My husband was also very happy with his meal; it was a very good schnitzel with fried potatoes :) The service was super friendly and attentive. The prices are absolutely reasonable, and it's a great place to spend an evening with friends. We'll be back again and again :)

We've been coming back to the Blauer Fuchs for years. It's my favorite restaurant in Freiburg. I love the food and the atmosphere there.

A real disappointment! We've been here before and were really impressed, but this time it seemed as if the chef had changed, and with it, the quality had dropped. The atmosphere is nice, the service is okay, but unfortunately not attentive, anticipatory, or overly friendly. The food was a complete disappointment: extremely greasy, which made you feel like you'd just eaten at a fast-food restaurant. Not again, and especially not at these prices!

We had a really good meal here, and would love to come back!

In dit informele eetcafe kun je prima eten. Of het nu om vegetarische gerechten of om vlees gaat, je komt aan je trekken. Daarbij zijn de salades prima. De bediening is vriendleijk net als het prijspeil.

The schnitzel was OK, the fries were too salty, and I had to reorder sauce twice because the first reorder was forgotten. I also ordered lemon iced tea once instead of the peach flavor I ordered, but the service was friendly and everything else at my table seemed to be fine. The ambiance only got 2 stars because there were no cushions outside, and because of that, and because the chairs at my table were too low, I wasn't comfortable sitting.

Large and beautiful outdoor seating area by the canal with plants and parasols. Very attentive, friendly and fast service. Small selection of food but delicious snacks, e.g. fries (in-house “creation” under the name “Pommes Fuchs-style”) and tarte flambée.

Lea was a very nice waitress. I have a +1 spot available for the couple at the table's wedding—if you're interested. Party hats required.

We actually just wanted to have a quick nightcap beer, I think! The atmosphere was so great that we immediately sank. The blue fox crew was awesome, Nico behind the bar not only provided us with cold beer boards, but also conjured up magical shots. The evening was simply fun with Hannah, Mia and Noemy. We'll definitely be back on the mat on the next trip to Freiburg. Keep it up, you're great!

Eigentlich wollten wir nur schnell ein Absackerbierchen trinken, denkste! Die Stimmung war so genial, dass wir direkt versackt sind. Die blaue Fuchs Crew war der Hammer, Nico hinter der Bar hat uns nicht nur mit kalten Bierbrettern versorgt, sondern auch magische Shots gezaubert. Mit Hannah, Mia und Noemy wurde der Abend einfach lustig. Beim nächsten Freiburg Trip stehen wir definitiv wieder auf der Matte. Macht weiter so, ihr seid spitze!

The Blue Fox always attracts us with its ambience and delicious offerings. If you want to have a leisurely drink, you can sit comfortably in the fresh air and enjoy spirits in the warmer seasons. The interior also offers a lot of seating, although some of them are quite adventurous. Only the service is very patient in some places and you need a bit of patience. Particularly recommended: anything with fox fries

Not recommended! (Men are served in a friendly manner, but women are served listlessly) Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was anything but satisfactory. The service was unfriendly and inattentive, making us feel unwelcome. We were a group and sat outside. While serving, we noticed that the waitress was extremely friendly to the men, even though it was clear that these men were taken, this created a strange atmosphere whereby the women at the table were served quickly and listlessly by the waitress, a shame and was noticed by several people who sat around us after we asked them for their perspective. The food was disappointing, it was served carelessly and rather simply slapped on top. The taste wasn't great either (you'll get it better if you make it yourself). For the prices we would have expected significantly better quality. Overall, a very disappointing experience that we certainly won't repeat.

The visit was a total failure and very disappointing. Definitely not recommended. We were guests on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy and the waiters seemed slightly overwhelmed. Unfortunately we waited 1.5 hours for our food order. When it's busy, it's easy to wait a little longer for your food, but the impression that our order was forgotten is very present (when we asked, the food suddenly arrived after 5 minutes). Unfortunately only two dishes came at first, the third was only brought after another 5 minutes. The salad dressing for two of the dishes had little taste and was rather sparse. Cheese spaetzle and vegan burgers were okay. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel on the recommendation of the waitress. The meat was very tough and therefore not edible in places. The lemon for the schnitzel was completely missing. The spaetzle as a side dish looked good, but was bland and tasteless. I've never eaten such bad spaetzle. The gravy, which was served in a separate glass on the plate, was just as tasteless. The sauce was watery and tasted that way; Poured over the spaetzle or the schnitzel, nothing has changed for the better. On top of that, the knives were blunt. Unfortunately, it wasn't even possible to express your displeasure to the waitress or ask for a lemon for the schnitzel; our table was completely ignored after the food was served. None of the waitresses felt responsible for clearing away the empty dishes, even though she had been to the next table twice in the meantime.

Wir wurden am Freitag, den 13.12.2024 unfreundlich vom Personal angegangen und wurden ignoriert. Weil das Restaurant voll war und wir keinen anderen Platz gefunden haben und im Weg standen. Obwohl wir dann an einen Tisch gewechselt sind, haben wir keine Getränke erhalten.

If you're looking for bland food, you've come to the right place. With the crispy chicken I can say that it was way too dry and there wasn't enough sauce to disguise it. The fries weren't seasoned and the fried potatoes only tasted like fat. In addition, there is no bone in a breast fillet. In total, fries, chicken breast fillet and some sour cream cost around 18 euros. It really wasn't worth it. I won't visit this restaurant again.

We were there today at 9:30 p.m. After we weren't served for over half an hour, we were suddenly told that the kitchen would close at 10 p.m. Too bad...
