Been all over and this is one of the best Italian restaurants been to. The owner circulates through each table talking, the menu is great and the food top shelf. Cannot be beat.

We discovered this place because it was recommended to us. The place is very nice and the staff is friendly and kind. The owner is really nice and friendly and knows many languages. He made us feel good during dinner with his kindness. The food was good, maybe the only flaw was a little too much pepper but otherwise everything was fine. The dessert was not the best but the owner had recommended me another one but I insisted on this one. To go back!

Salvatore is an excellent, warm-hearted host who will give you a very personal welcome. Yosef too; the two are an unbeatable team. Yosef is very attentive and accommodating. The food is excellent and delighted us all evening. It was so good that we had dinner at Salvatore's again the next day. It was once again really good and easy to recommend. The best Italian in Frankfurt.

Pizza TOP But the owners/service/… totally unfriendly. We ordered pizza to take away and were treated rudely the whole time. It was only at the end when we paid, including a tip, that we were able to say goodbye in a friendly manner. We know Italians differently. Next time I'll order through wolt/… the prices are the same and then at least Wolt/… gets its share and we don't have to give it to each other.

Really not an exaggeration - but the most comfortable ambience, the tastiest food and the most courteous service. Absolutely recommended - if you don't like it, I'll pay the bill

So there were two of us there and at the beginning it was okay and since my friend was away for a while to do something, I thought I would wait for her because she didn't need long and I didn't want to eat anything until she got back becomes . When I saw her at the traffic lights I wanted to order and the waiter became rude and said either we order now or we have to leave and that was really rude that we decided to leave. They weren't happy that we didn't want to drink at the beginning and that it took us a while to decide. In my opinion, no matter how long it takes you to decide what you want, a waiter has to be friendly to the customers. The customer is king is not lived there, but quite the opposite. That's why I would say that it's not even worth one star for the service. I can't judge the food because we left because of the unfriendliness.

To run away! - unfriendly and rude service! As long as you have the impression that you are spending good money there, they make you look chichi and super friendly. If they realize that you only ordered a pizza, they suddenly become very impatient and accuse you of sitting there for an hour without ordering anything (which was completely far-fetched!) It only took us 10 minutes at most to choose something. Treating us badly just shows what these employees are all about - they want to make as much money as possible in the shortest possible time - this is not a place you like to settle down and it's not a nice atmosphere. Never again ! This condescending manner is simply disgusting...we are shocked and will never enter this restaurant again. P.s. It was the second time the boss was very unfriendly - too stupid of me to think they might have had a bad day. Apparently unfriendly behavior is a big deal there...

Dovevo aspettare l’arrivo del buio per ammirare i riflessi della città sul fiume e per ingannare l’attesa ho cenato in questo ristorante. Ho ordinato una bruschetta e una semplice pizza margherita. La bruschetta non rappresentava l’italianità: mancava la croccantezza esterna e la morbidezza interna e i sapori erano piuttosto indefiniti. La pizza, invece, si può dire più che sufficiente: ben lievitata e quindi digeribile. L’atmosfera è sfacciatamente quella dell’italiano emigrato: un po’ allegra e un po’ malinconica. Il locale è invitante. Però mi sono sentito come Francesco Panella nel format “Little Big Italy”. Il menu (vedi foto) è pieno di errori e di stereotipi (che fanno scena all’estero): che tristezza rendersi conto che la lingua è stata un po’ dimenticata: pennette alla “rabbiata”; spaghetti “cabonara”; pizza “salami”; pizza “mafioso”; pizza “quatro stagione”. Tutto condito con musica di sottofondo “… là dove il mare luccica …”, ma io non vedevo l’ora del luccichio di Mainhattan sul Meno.

Food very tasty and service very accommodating!! Last visit was seven years ago and still recognized! Starter platter for two is enough for three (we were too) - very tasty. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Pasta dishes were al dente and tasted excellent. Unfortunately we forgot to take pictures.

It was an experience for the palate. Starting with the oil plate with lettering made of balsamic cream and delicious bread, through the starter plate for two people - I have never eaten such a delicious salmon tartare - and as the main course, wafer-tender slices of beef fillet in hot olive oil with rocket and parmesame. A great red wine that Salvatore recommended to us.

Understandable when it's full and I'm just a person who doesn't leave a lot of money. Nevertheless, when you bring the food you can still be open to ordering a drink and not ignore the guest.... (Would have wanted to order the Montepulciano) Because of the good food I'll come back and drink a glass of wine 😉

Very cozy atmosphere, great service and really delicious food! If I'm in Frankfurt again, a must-go for me!

We were dining out as a group, and so reservation was made beforehand. The place is quite small in terms of adjusting both guests and food. The seated customers have to be disturbed quite a few times for service or otherwise. The appetizers were served at will, not a pleasant experience especially when each one was priced around €80. Only two people were serving in the entire restaurant, which makes the service inefficient - main course was late. The dishes served to one of my friends was wrong, firstly a non-vegetarian dish was served, next time also another dish (which was not ordered) was served. We compromised on the wrong food as we were already exasperated explaining the dish. Lastly, an inaccurate cheque was presented, which took us some time to clarify to the owner. Unfortunately, the experience was substandard. This is hospitality industry - we go out to enjoy with family & friends. But here we are being served wrong dishes, incorrect bills. Unacceptable experience to say the least!

Bistro Salvatore has really raised the level of his kitchen to new heights. Since years, he makes the best mussels in town. But his recent fish additions are out of this world. The octopus carpaccio is fabulous. But the real highlight is his new Lobster pasta dish, made with fettuccine freshly made daily by his Chef. This dish has become my absolute favorite Italian pasta dish in Frankfurt, hands down! Bravo, bravi👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I visited here a couple of months ago and the food was good I had pizza and my friend had pasta. The manager/ floor staff was a bit annoying and quite touchy . The restaurant is quite small so they pushed our table multiple times during our meal. We asked for the bill and found it had to be paid all together and the server seemed to have an attitude when we asked to pay with card.

Dee Salva ist seit eh und je ein richtiger Gastgeber..man fühlt sich extrem gut aufgehoben...alles geht ruck zuck...und wenn man nicht geizig ist, hat man einfach einen großartigen Abend.

Sehr familiäres und witziges Klima. Ihaber Brahim hat mit unserem Tisch witziges Smalltalk geführt. Essen war auch Top und gute Portionen für fairen Preis direkt am Main.

As Salvatore’s Bistro was literally steps from our hotel and had been recommended by the receptionist, we decided to give it a try on our first night in Frankfurt. Good food, good wine, good service and a good atmosphere. It therefore seemed logically to go again the following night – what a difference. We were met with “have you booked” and “you pay cash so you can sit here”… Within a few minutes of ordering our main course, Mr Salvatore came back to say that the dish I had ordered was not available and offered me “something special” – failing to mention, as it turned out, that this “special” dish was nearly 10€ more expensive than my original order. We decided against a dessert – not that we had been offered one because by this time we were being completely ignored – and eventually asked for two decaffeinated coffees. “We don’t do that” was the only response; who doesn’t do decaf coffee these days? At this point we put our money on the table and left. Nobody bothered to thank us for our custom or say goodnight This restaurant may be convenient for some of the local hotels but is situated on the corner of a very busy intersection. Take the trouble to walk another ten minutes or so and there are plenty of better options near the cathedral and market square where you can sit outside without inhaling traffic fumes and the constant noise of buses and cars going past. And not be ignored by the proprietor!

Bistro Salvatore was suggested by our hotel during our recent visit to Frankfurt. Our first evening meal was so delicious and Salvatore's service attentive that we decided to return the following evening, even if he had insisted being paid in cash, which is not uncommon in Germany. Upon our arrival the second evening, we were asked if we had made a reservation, which we hadn't, this evening or last evening. It wasn't a particularly busy night. Salvatore said, "well ok, you pay cash, sit here"....Excited to try something different this time on his menu, my friend decided to try a pasta dish, recommended by a lady at the table next to us, who said it was delicious. Salvatore returned to our table to say that it was suddenly no longer available and suggested another pasta dish, which of course we noticed was considerably more expensive when we received the bill. After that, I can say that we were ignored for the rest of our evening. It was like we didn't exist. And we noticed this time, that everyone was paying with their bank cards, so his excuse for cash only the night before had been a lie ! Sadly to say, our experience the second night was the completely opposite of the night before leaving a bitter taste in our mouth. You would think Salvatore would be pleased that a customer would choose to spend his hard earned money twice in his restaurant, but we felt like we've been had. Don't be fooled by his Italien charm, he is successful in his restaurant business by being ruthless. Too bad...

Absolut zufrieden Salvatore mein Freund ich komme gerne wieder.

Salva ist eine echte Frankfurter Institution, und das seit 53 Jahren! Mit seinen inzwischen 75 Jahren wirbelt er im stets vollen Restaurant hin und her und gibt jedem das Gefühl, zur Familie zu gehören. Hierbei hat er über die Jahre schon so manche „wichtige“ Menschen und „influencer“kommen und gehen sehen. Salva bleibt und dabei sich selbst treu. On 30 Jahren hab ich es noch nicht geschafft, die super lecker aussehende Pizza zu essen, weil ich immer bei den Highlights der Karte hängen bleibe. Legende ist hierbei die Tagliata auf dem glühend heißen Teller, mit Rucola und wer mag mit Steinpilzen… so einfach geht lecker! Salva, ich hoffe, du gehst frühestens mit 90 in Rente!!!

Der Kult-Italiener in Frankfurt. Immer einen Besuch wert. Speisen wie Pasta, Pizza oder auch das Rinderfilet alles top !!! Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

typisch italienische Atmosphäre. Klein, laut, persönlich. Anzumerken ist, dass nur 1 Tisch für 2 Personen vorhanden ist. Die übrigen Paare werden an größeren Tischen zusammengesetzt. Nicht für jeden passend. Der Service ist zunächst gewöhnungsbedürftig, dies legt sich aber mit der Zeit. Änderungswünsche werden entgegengenommen. Ebenfalls die Beratung zu dem Angebot der Tagesspeisen hat uns gefallen.

Es ist bereits zum 3. Mal passiert, dass die Preise im Internet nicht mit den Preisen in der Speisekarte vor Ort stimmen. Bereits letztes Jahr hatte ich telefonisch Essen bestellt und beim Bezahlen wurde mir ein höherer Betrag mitgeteilt. Ich hatte es dann vor Ort gesagt und man hat mir dann mitgeteilt, dass es noch „alte" Preise wären. Es wäre toll, wenn man das auch auf der Speisekarte der Internetseite ebenfalls ändern würde. Jetzt am Wochenende ist mir das schon wieder passiert. Anmerkung vom Besitzer: „Das Internet ist alt". Ähmmmm Nach langer Diskussion habe ich den Preis bezahlt, der im Internet steht. Es kann doch nicht sein, dass Salvatore es nicht schafft, in 1 JAHR seine Preise im Internet zu ändern. Es ist eine Unverschämtheit und es war das letzte Mal, dass ich dort essen war, geschweige denn auch etwas bestelle. Auch wenn man vor Ort Gast ist, muss man die Geschichten von Salvatore am Tisch ertragen, die keiner hören will. Ich bin mit meinen Gästen dort und es interessiert mich einfach nicht, ob der Besitzer in seiner Jugend irgendwelche Sportabzeichen gemacht hat. Es ist schlichtweg Angeberei und einfach übergriffig, sich an den Tisch zu stellen und während man mit seinen Gästen dort sitzt ein Gespräch anzufangen und zu prahlen. Das mag bei einigen ziehen, aber etwas mehr Zurückhaltung würde ihm sicherlich guttun. Der Tunfischsalat für 11,50 EUR ist nicht das Geld wert. Die Tomaten waren nicht reif, noch hart und hatten keinen Geschmack.

Im Bistro Salvatore wurden wir verwöhnt mit einer grandiosen familiären Atmosphäre, tollem Service und super Empfehlungen. Sobald wir reinkamen fiel uns die Herzlichkeit des Personals und des Betreibers auf. Wir wurden mit offenen Armen empfangen und wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt. Die Muscheln zur Vorspeise waren eine Offenbarung. Wir haben nirgends so eine tolle Muschel-Vorspeise gegessen. Der Satz meiner Frau: „davon bitte noch mal 5 Portionen“ sagt eigentlich alles. Doch damit nicht genug. Die Tagliatta waren der absolute Wahnsinn und auf den Punkt serviert! Die Pasta Putanesca ebenfalls ein Traum! Die Empfehlung des Weins ebenfalls ein Volltreffer. Alles in allem können wir abschließend nur sagen: unser „Go-to-Italiener“ in Frankfurt! Vielen Dank für einen wunderbaren Abend an das gesamte Team!

Bistro Salvatore was recommended by the desk clerk at our hotel. He didn't steer us wrong. Truly authentic family Italian food. Pasta the way your Italian grandmother made it. Excellent service and attention to detail as well. One note, like most small non-tourist restaurants in Frankfurt, if you arrive at Salvatore without a reservation, expect to sit at a community table. The best restaurants in Frankfurt don't run on walk-ins.

Arrivato stanchissimo da una giornata intensa tra viaggio e fiera, Salvatore è riuscito a rimettermi in moto con ottimo cibo, vino e conversazione divertente. Cucina Italiana, posto da tornare...

Mon épouse et moi cherchions une adresse le long de la Main afin de compléter notre voyage. Salvatore lui-même nous a accueillis et invités à nous assoir sur la terrasse de son resto. Nous n'avons aucunement regretté cet arrêt, car le service et la nourriture sont excellents. Salvatore a pris le soin de nous expliquer les choix de nourriture et de vins suite à nos critères, soit italiens. Son assistant au service a fait aussi sa part pour rendre la soirée agréable par une température idéale. Mon épouse a pris du veau et j'ai pris des pâtes, accompagnés d'un vin rouge italien. Nous avons complété avec un Tiramisu et une grappa. Merci à l'équipe pour cette belle soirée !

If you want an authentic italian experience, you have to come here. It was our 2nd time here and it was great again. Food is super tasty, staff very friendly and attentive (including famous Salvatore himself) and atmosphere very relaxed. A must vidit when in Frankfurt.

Anläßlich einer Familienfeier waren wir im Bistro Salvatore. Das Restaurant liegt gegenüber vom Main, der Standort ist optimal. Man hat einen Blick auf die Skyline von Frankfurt und auch auf den Main. Das Restaurant ist klein und sehr gemütlich (Reservierung erforderlich), die Küche ist gehoben. Die Bedienung ist Aufmerksam und sehr herzlich. Ich verstehe bezugnehmend auf den Service, die negative Bewertung nicht. Aber wie es in den Wald rein schallt, schallt es wieder raus!! Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

What could be better than a really warm welcome after a long day! The food was excellent and the ambience great
