If you're looking for a relaxed beer garden where you can enjoy a good meal and drink in the summer evenings, this is the place for you. The portions are generous, and the champignon schnitzel I had was delicious. There's a sort of counter where you order and then pick up your drinks, which I didn't think was too bad, as you got your drinks very quickly.

I stopped by here at 2 p.m. and hadn't eaten anything yet. From the street, I could see that the lights were on. So I parked for an exorbitant price (the freaks, the Darmstadters) and went in. They told me they didn't open until 3 p.m. Great! Guys, if you don't open until 3 p.m., then turn off the lights and close the gate by then!!! Because then you wouldn't even think it might be open. Okay, since I'm already writing, I can't resist mentioning that I don't think the food here is very good anyway, and the surrounding area is pretty run down. The restrooms, in particular, are in desperate need of a facelift.

Highly recommended. Plenty of seating under the shade of the trees and under cover. Food orders are announced via buzzer.

Beer Garden Darmstadt – Summer Evening Under the Trees 🍻🌳 The beer garden in Darmstadt on Dieburger Straße didn't used to have a good reputation – but that's history. It has since blossomed into a truly beautiful place. We were there on a warm Saturday evening in summer, and it was well-attended. It's self-service, but everything runs smoothly and is organized. The staff is friendly, attentive, and really on the ball. You sit under large trees, just above Dieburger Straße – perfect for relaxing and observing the hustle and bustle and the cars below. The restrooms are clean, which isn't entirely unimportant when visiting a beer garden. 😉 Of course, Glorya was there too – my 11 cm tall stuffed giraffe with sparkling eyes and a great sense of atmosphere. She whispered to me: "Beer gardens are all well and good – but the viewing benches up here are my favorite spot! So please always keep a table free for us." 🦒✨ 👉 Conclusion: Friendly, fast, clean, and with a great atmosphere – a beer garden that's really fun again. 🍺

The food was good, the prices a bit high but understandable in Darmstadt. The ambiance was very nice, but the staff could be a bit friendlier... hence only 4 out of 5 stars.

My original review was deleted for "defamation reasons." I'm happy to adjust my wording, even though I couldn't find any defamation in my original review. I gave the beer garden another chance, but unfortunately, even after two visits, I and my companions weren't impressed. I repeatedly received unfriendly and curt answers at the checkout. In my personal opinion, the food didn't meet my expectations in terms of value for money or quality. I can't understand the very positive reviews, but I accept that these are individual impressions. My review is based solely on my personal experiences during my visits. If criticism is expressed, it should be understood as a suggestion to improve the service and offerings.

It couldn't be better. A beautiful place. A cold, well-tapped Grohe beer, a spicy and truly delicious paprika sausage. Seats in the shade and in the sun. The bread to accompany the sausage was sensationally good.

It's difficult to get seats. Considering how well the schnitzels are pounded, they're relatively expensive. But the food was good. The salad was a bit light on dressing, but that's a matter of taste. They provided an extra bowl of dressing upon request. Great playground and very friendly staff, all of whom are very helpful and hard-working.

It's big, and it has two areas: the restaurant and the self service. Service on the self service is you - so nothing to give points to. The have very good food, however, maybe a little bit overpriced. But everything was delicious, so it was worth it!

For me, the Dieburg beer garden is the best in the entire region. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual, and simply perfect for an after-work getaway with friends or a bike ride. The food is delicious, the beer is always ice-cold and on tap, the prices are fair, and the staff are consistently friendly and attentive – even when it's busy. It's not a trendy, trendy spot, but a truly honest, down-to-earth beer garden with good quality. Exactly what a beer garden should be. 👉 Absolutely recommend it – I come regularly and always enjoy it!

A lovely beer garden near the Mathildenhöhe and the Rose Garden. The prices posted on the menu are out of date, but the food is still really good. The roast pork, sauerkraut, gravy, and bread are missing. By the way, the bread is delicious.

A beautiful beer garden in the heart of Darmstadt. Despite its proximity to the busy road, you can barely hear the cars. The prices aren't exactly cheap these days, but that's the case everywhere. Accordingly, it's one of my favorite beer gardens in Darmstadt and the surrounding area.

A classic beer garden, we only had drinks. You get your own drinks. I find it very pleasant there!

The best beer garden in the city center, the location is super classy. Just a 5-minute walk from Mathildenhöhe, and there's a bus stop right outside, so no need to use the car, which is often not possible after a visit. 😅 There are also plenty of bike racks for Radler drinkers. The owners put a lot of effort into it, and it shows. I don't have anything to do with children, but they're quite well-occupied there. If that bothers you, just don't sit right next to the playground; there are plenty of seats there. The trees also offer some shade so that the first beer doesn't shoot you straight into orbit. The beer is very good, by the way. The food is always good, and the portions are great! Well, what can I say? It's definitely worth it. I'll drag every visitor there after they've completed the "standard Mathildenhöhe program*. 😅☝️ Keep up the good work, and your markets that you offer in between are a great addition. The Christmas market in particular was a great idea!!

Super affordable and delicious beer, and they also serve food. We were even allowed to sit outside past 10 p.m., even though the place was already closed and my colleague broke about three wine glasses. Highly recommended!

Good schnitzel Too many kids & noise Parking is not easy

Today I ordered a steak with potato salad in the beer garden. When I picked up my steak from the grill station, everything looked fine at first glance. After chewing the first piece in my mouth, I noticed that it tasted completely charred. When I turned the steak over, I saw that it was completely burnt black. I took it back to the grill station and asked if they were serious about offering me such a service. An employee who happened to be standing next to me at the grill station immediately accused me of being rude. If something is wrong and you complain, you're immediately attacked like that is unacceptable. The grill master in charge accepted my complaint and politely gave me a new steak and told me to get lost and that he didn't want to argue with me. I think it's a disgrace to be treated like this. It's completely unacceptable. I'm a regular customer and this has never happened to me there before. I really like going to this beer garden, but this is unacceptable.

Considering its urban location, this is a very nice and surprisingly quiet beer garden. There are at least two or three play structures for children, but nothing large or special. A real beer garden recommendation for those close to the city!

I can fully recommend this beer garden! The beer was right for my taste ;) we had our 2 year old daughter with us and she also got her money's worth in the small playground! There are a lot of tables within sight of the playground, so as a parent you can sit down comfortably and enjoy one, two or even three beers. I would say there are hardly any such beautiful beer gardens around here anymore!!! Personally, I think it's a shame :( but that definitely ensures a return :D Perhaps it should also be mentioned that you order the food and drinks yourself at the checkout. Drinks are given straight away, and for the food you get a vibrating part that vibrates when the food is ready to be picked up :) I think it's very good... especially with children you can sometimes have to leave quickly, which isn't a problem because you don't have to wait for a waitress to pay :)

Very nice traditional Biergarten. The food and atmosphere are exactly how a Biergarten should be. Trees are massive and provide shade as well. The schnitzel is one of the best in Germany. The prices are always good as well. One of the best spots in Darmstadt for large gatherings.

Yesterday (September 14, 2024) was the beer garden's 50th birthday. There was free beer! Despite the cool temperatures, it was a pleasant afternoon and evening. There were a few special birthday treats, such as pork steak with potato salad, games for children, a crepe cart, and a raffle. A visit is highly recommended.

It was our first time there for a birthday party. The food was great and we were totally satisfied

It's a real beer garden. Self-service, but it goes very quickly. You're barely sitting down when the alarm goes off that you can pick up your food. It's big, there's always room. There are just no parking spaces. or Very expensive because of Mathildenhöhe.

My favorite Darmstadt beer garden. There are also some dishes for vegetarians, in contrast to the beer garden in the very north of Darmstadt. I like the beer. The location under the trees is particularly pleasant on hot days. We had been meaning to visit the beer garden for a long time, which we finally did! Ordering food and drinks went quite quickly! Price for the food (cream schnitzel, quark with potato wedges) is too high for the quality! The staff was friendly and picking up the place settings was also very quick! The facility, building of the grill station and cash register/food distribution fit perfectly. not to each other, roofs quite dirty, which could be better! In our opinion, it's quite nice to eat there, not necessarily.... Suitable for lingering over a glass of wine! All in all, a bit disappointed but finally visited!

I've been coming here for (very) many years. The beer garden is very cozy, there is delicious Grohe beer on tap. There are tasty steaks and bratwursts from the grill (probably not available on all days). The potato salad is a poem. I don't know the other dishes - apart from salad and fries... You can spend time here.
