Biergarten am Zeiselberg in Schwäbisch Gmünd

The Zeiselberg itself offers a great view over Schwäbisch Gmünd. The new restaurant is nicely decorated. That's where the plus points end again... Even making a reservation over the phone was difficult and you were referred to the website in a rude manner. Price/performance rather not justified. Paid just under €80 for two people. But the food was rather bad than good. Ok for a small hunger but for the price you can easily cook for yourself for a week or go somewhere better to eat!!!! 2 small spinach dumplings with a few greens just under €16. The roast roast at €24 was local. Small salad and soup were also not very convincing. Ok for a sausage salad in summer. There doesn't have to be anything more. Too bad…..

I can agree with the negative reviews 1 to 1! Some were months ago, so you can see nothing is happening and they are not isolated cases! The Zeiselberg would be a gold mine...emphasis would be!!! But if even the boss himself isn't interested, then so be it! The fish mostly stinks from the head. Rarely have I seen such unfriendly, unmotivated staff. Sat for half an hour, didn't get anything to drink, there were 4 waitresses there, very little going on. Then I took the liberty of asking if we could order something: then this young bitch who didn't jump in my face was all, the colleague would come...but she never came, then approached the colleague who was walking past, is not his area. Then other guests came and waited too, but were served before us. The boss was present and noticed this. It's a shame, it turned out beautifully on the Zeiselberg, but that's all. The only thing that helps is new staff and a different operator!!!! Because with the prices, I expect something different!!! And as a guest you can choose the restaurant. Here once and never again. This won't happen anymore!!!!

The service was super accommodating and attentive. The food was really delicious, especially the burger with its hearty cheese. It's been a while here ;) Enough time to try out the beers ;)

The most beautiful thing is the view over Gmünd. Friendly staff. The menu is not large, the food is good but not great.

We spent a lovely lunch/afternoon here. The beer garden is great - but you only sit on beer benches. Tables and chairs are only available indoors. If there were a few tables and chairs available outside, this would be my 5th star. Food looks and tastes delicious. Priced upscale. Burger without fries 15.90 euros. Recommended!!

We can only rate the tea, which is carelessly served in a coffee cup for 4 euros. But that can be done better. Take a look at the tea in the city villa.

Stopped here briefly as a walker to drink some tea. When the price was 4 euros per cup, we lost our desire for tea. The tea itself was a run of the mill teapot tea from the supermarket. The cups weren't even really full. Very unfortunate.

The beer garden is really fantastic with plenty of seats. Great ambience with a great view of Gmünd. There is a play and climbing tower for the kids, which is really great. The service and food were good, so you can spend a few hours here. Unfortunately, parking is a bit poor, it's difficult to find anything in the surrounding area, so you have to walk up or down for a few minutes or, best of all, come by bike. I'm already looking forward to next summer and stay.

I can't say anything about the food. But there is little choice. But delicious beer 🍻 From up there you can see the town of Gmünd - very beautiful, especially at dusk. The service could be better. When I tried to order, 4 workers stood in front of the entrance and looked. through the area instead of just walking around and asking the guests.

Our waiter was really more than nice and accommodating. Even though the store was buzzing with people, the wait was very short. Wonderful atmosphere, especially when the beautiful lighting comes on at dusk. Food also delicious, large portions. Looking forward to next time.

Were there for the first time since the renovation. I felt like sausage salad again. This one tasted delicious. Unfortunately, the pickles weren't listed on the menu, which was a bit of a shame because I like to eat without them. In my opinion, the portion was a bit small for €12.80. Above all, my companion had a schnitzel with fries for just under €3 more, so in my opinion the ratio doesn't fit. Service was good and we were served in a reasonable time.

Gestern gingen wir, 4 Personen, voller positiver Erwartung auf den Zeiselberg, um einen schönen Abend zu verbringen. Dieser endete überaus trocken und extrem deprimierend. Wir kamen gegen 20 Uhr an und nahmen draußen Platz. Es war gut besucht. Eine Bedienung lief eine halbe Stunde an uns vorbei und ignorierte uns gekonnt. Erst als wir sie wiederholt zu uns riefen, kam sie und nahm unsere Getränkebestellung auf. Sie sagte aber, dass es eine Weile dauern würde, weil der am Ausschank überfordert sei. Um 20.50 Uhr hatten wir endlich unsere Getränke. Es hieß dann,dass man bis um 21.30 Uhr Bestellungen aufgeben kann, also wollten wir um 21.10 Uhr das nächste Getränk bestellen,weil wir wussten, dass es lange dauert. Leider nahm man unsere Bestellung nicht mehr an, weil der am Ausschank überfordert war. Ganz ehrlich: der Biergarten steht an einer von Gmünds schönsten Stellen. Der Ausblick ist phänomenal. Leider passt alles andere überhaupt nicht. Es kann nicht sein, dass man 40 Minuten auf Getränke warten muss. Es kann nicht sein, dass Bedienungen blind für Gäste sind und sie stehenlassen. Leute, die nach uns kamen, wurden vor uns bedient. Eigentlich wollten wir noch was essen, aber nach dem Desaster mit dem 1. und gewollten 2. Getränk hatten wir keine Lust mehr drauf. Wir hätten eh nicht mehr bekommen. So ein Service ist unterirdisch. Und die paar Bewertungen vor mir bestätigen unsere Erfahrung leider. Ich habe in der Gastro gelernt, weiß also wie es läuft und normalerweise sehe ich drüber hinweg, aber das war eine Vollkatastrophe. Gmünd hat andere gute Gastro, da wird man wenigstens ordentlich bedient. Sollte man sich als Betreiber vielleicht zu Herzen nehmen - wenn es einem nicht egal ist.

Great for families. With a playground where you can comfortably enjoy good food while children play alone next to it. Not expensive but tasty. Cappuccino with delicious thick milk foam.

The kitchen closes at 8:31 p.m. We sat there earlier, the waitress took too long and didn't point this out to us. Closed due to prosperity. An impudence. The service is subpar, you can sit there all evening with an empty glass... no one comes. I will never go to this store again.

I took the journey to quench my thirst only to be told I wasn't allowed to order because I wasn't sitting at the table. Drinking while standing has apparently been banned recently. Aura -10000

Beer garden in Schwäbisch Gmünd with a nice ambience and view over the city. Very nicely redesigned with delicious German dishes. The food tastes great and the conditions are accommodating. We really enjoy eating here. Parking is best down in the city, about a 5 minute walk.

Sunday lunch there. At the entrance there is an information board saying “self-service today”. Ask the counter whether you have to pick up the food here. "Which food? Go out, take the card and find the food Or are they too STUPID TO READ!" We left the beer garden without eating and will definitely not be coming back.

Gehen sie raus, nehmen die Karte und bestellen. Oder sind sie zu BLÖD ZUM LESEN!!¡!! Wir beschweren uns über diesen Ton gegenüber Gästen und verlassen dieses Lokal ohne zu essen. Wir werden hier nicht wieder kommen und können dieses Lokal mit so einem Ton gegenüber Gästen nicht weiterempfehlen. Schade!! Das Lokal war um diese Uhrzeit schwach besetzt

Large portions (salad), delicious! Cool view. Tip: The best place to park is in Kornhausstrasse or city center. It's only about 5 minutes up the mountain on foot.

I rate the beer garden: So, a huge upgrade from before. (Decent menu with real dishes - in contrast to the "vesper menu" earlier. Ambience actually 5/5, but that's also the reason for the star deduction: Unfortunately, nothing has been done about the wasp infestation. I just don't understand why you can't hire professionals to locate and relocate the wasp nest. I can't figure out why you should be powerless. I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the story: Food was extremely good (I had sauerbraten, the wife had currywurst with fries). The portions were just right: as a glutton, I was full and all at a reasonable price. Great!! Food taste 5/5 Food price/performance 5/5 Small drawback: For a beer garden, you should actually also offer dark beer (wheat or black beer) for ambitious beer drinkers. The predominantly young waitresses are like bees, always looking out for everything. Service 5/5 I look forward to going again in the fall and winter. Unfortunately, due to the wasp infestation, I cannot fully recommend the restaurant - which I would be happy to do...

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in the region with a great view over Schwäbisch Gmünd. What is quite new is that the Untergröningen Lammbrauerei runs the beer garden.

Quite nice so far, fantastic view over Gmünd. Extremely busy when the weather is good. Be sure to try the Zeisel wheat brewed especially for the events. Large slide for small and large children. Overall, very decent clientele, the service staff are quick and attentive. Toilet is available.

At first they ignored me for a long time, even though I kept calling the waiter. and after 20 minutes they came towards me and when I started to order they said that the kitchen was closed. I had a beer and 10 minutes later saw them bringing out food for people who arrived later than me! terrible place and service.

Benevolent 3 stars. First of all, the positive: the view here is phenomenal, the staff is quick and friendly and you can see that a lot of passion went into the design of the facility. So why only 3 stars? First of all, there is the parking situation - there are simply no parking spaces. For out-of-towners, that means parking in a parking garage in the city and then a long hike up the mountain. If the area were beautiful, this wouldn't be a problem, but here you mainly move on busy roads. The kitchen closes very early here, namely at 8:30 p.m. It wouldn't be a problem if this were properly communicated online, but it won't be. Together with my first point of criticism, this is a bigger problem, since by the time you're back from the mountain and into the city you usually won't be able to get anything to eat anywhere else. Finally, anyone who expects an idyllic oasis of peace here based on the beautiful photos can be prepared for disappointment: it is mostly loud here. On the one hand, this is because the restaurant is still very new and therefore currently has a lot of visitors, but on the other hand, because you can hear the noise from the street at the foot of the mountain very well.

Ich versuche das mal einigermaßen neutral und ohne der Enttäuschung, die uns noch „im Magen“ liegt zusammenzufassen: Definitiv die beste Aussicht in Gmünd für einen Biergarten. Bei schönen Wetter Sonnenunterganggarantie. Allerdings ist die Lage allein in der Gastronomie nicht ausschlaggebend. Service und Essen und Behandlung der Gäste spielt auch eine Rolle. Das ist - aus welchen Gründen auch immer - noch nicht bei der Eigentümer Familie angekommen. Oder sie wissen es nicht. Wir hatten Salat und Schweizer Wurstsalat. Salat war ok. Schweizer Wurstsalat voller Brühe. Eher suppenähnlich und geschmacklos. Essig und Öl in der Brühe? Nicht feststellbar. Reklamiert. Antwort aus der Küche: Kommt so aus dem Eimer. Muss so sein. Nachfrage bei anderen Gästen am Tisch, ob es Ihnen auch so ging oder was sie meinen: selbiges. Schlechtester Wurstsalat im Leben (und wir waren alle über 50 Jahre alt…). Ok - kann passieren. Nur eben ungünstig wenn es am Anfang bei einem lokal vorkommt. Was allerdings den Vogel abschoss, war der Restaurantleiter, als Regentropfenzu verspüren waren. Meine Begleitung hörte beim Gang zur Toilette: „Schnell abkassieren, sonst , sind die ganzen Gäste nachher ohne zu bezahlen weg. Anschließend fing er an, die Sonnenschirme, die bei 27 Grad auch die paar Regentropfen abgehalten hätten, zuzumachen. Man könne ja auch (Anmerkung: ins Gewächshaus stein sitzen). Eine Frechheit. Naja ausser unserem Tisch haben das die meisten hingenommen. Trotzdem eine Frechheit. Wir bekamen dann noch mit, dass er sich pber uns lustig machte. Und er meinte, er hötte die Anweisung bei Unwetterwarnung zuzumachen. Naja- ist eben inmer schwieriger (auch in der Gastronomie) gutes ind ausgebildetes Personal zu finden. Irgendwie auch schade, wenn man solche Menschen Personal führen lassen muss und den Kontakt zu den Gästen halten lassen muss). Für und ein klares: nie wieder. Auch wenn die Lage gut ist, aber wie gesagt: Geschmack und Service sind 2/3. mindestens. Oh- Gewitter hat sich verzogen. Fehlalarm. Eventuell doch kein lokaler Restaurantleiter?

Unfortunately not well organized. After 8 p.m. there is no longer anything to eat. That must not be. The waitresses were completely overwhelmed at times, even though hot weather had been forecast for days. Very very sad. I used to love going there. It's been a catastrophe since this season, so unfortunately that's it for now 😔 How can you leave a previously well-running business to such an operator and then ruin it like that...

After about 1.5 hours the long-awaited meal arrived, 2 currywurst with fries, lukewarm, practically inedible, sausage salad tended to be unseasoned and undressed. Upon request, vinegar/oil, salt and pepper were received, but vinegar turned out to be diluted vinegar essence: underground. Large salad plate: Carelessly piled up raw food with tasteless yogurt dressing. What was positive was the ambience and the Bierappel beer.

MEGA location, great beer garden. Unfortunately no more. Was there on a Sunday afternoon when the weather was beautiful. Unfortunately, the poorly staffed service was already overwhelmed at 12:30. A pity!

Crispy fries but completely over-seasoned, schnitzel from the freezer and all for just under €16. The only positive thing is the portion. Solid sausage salad. Soft drinks taste like powder dissolved in water. Apart from the beautiful view, there are few reasons for a second visit. A pity.

Service:... difficult... Arrived at 4:45 p.m., first we were "ignored" as a group of eight with four kids, then we had to wait until 5 p.m. because then there was a shift change. At our request, we at least ordered paper in advance because the tablet was not yet available. Eating: even more difficult.. Ready-made spaetzle with overly seasoned ready-made sauce for children. Sausage salad ok, but too expensive for the portion at almost €13. Ambiance: good, play tower for children, great view, unfortunately no parking spaces available.

Beautiful view and the new restaurant looks really great but unfortunately the food selection is very limited, even for a beer garden, and I also think the price is clearly too high. A mini portion of undressed sausage salad for almost 13 euros is hefty...we won't be eating there again in the future.

We don't look “German” and if we come without a German companion, we are treated extremely inhospitably (the waitress doesn't come, the boss is ALWAYS unfriendly to us and even though it says online that it's open until 10 p.m. we arrive more than half an hour early turned away even if we just wanted to order something to drink). This is not only my repeated experience here, but also many other acquaintances who also don't look “German” have reported this. Impudence and impudence. Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars.

Really nice panorama view, with a special "selfie platform". There are some foods available as well, but their focus is clearly on the drinks. Inside it is also very elegant and modern.

Beautifully located beer garden with a new building that also offers indoor seating. The location with a view over Gmünd is of course great. Thanks to the large tree and some parasols, there are also relatively many shaded areas. The food and menu are beer garden standard. However, the menu does have a few more special beers and drinks on offer. The food quality is good, the prices are okay.

I think the price of the food is a bit high for a beer garden, but it tastes great and the view makes up for it 😄

What use is the most beautiful view if there is not enough food on offer? Admittedly, the restaurant is still under construction, but that's no reason to offer next to nothing for vegetarians. The only offer in this regard was vegetable spaetzle, which was far too heavy for the evening. My request for a cheese salad or at least a cheese sandwich was brusquely rejected with the remark, “If you don't like that, you can leave” - even though vegetarian dishes are advertised on the Internet. The same unfriendly waitress also didn't think it was necessary to comply with the request of one of our friends and turn down the music. We will avoid this restaurant in the future.

I recently visited the restaurant on the Zeiselberg in Schwäbisch Gmünd with my family and was impressed by the beautiful location and the relaxing atmosphere. The beer garden offers fantastic views over the city. The ambience under the large linden trees gave me a traditional beer garden feeling, which was very pleasant. The menu is small, but the snack dishes on offer (such as the sausage salad) were very tasty and go well with the regional beers. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I also found it particularly positive that there is a playground with a large slide, which makes the restaurant very family-friendly. I also noticed the well-equipped and super clean changing facility. As a mom, I really appreciate that. We would love to come back to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful view.

Grandma's sheet cake: Everyone probably has Grandma's cake in their mind's eye, right? It's a shame that the ready-made cake that's cold from the freezer ends up being disappointing. Plus the “good” ready-made spray cream. Normally I eat everything out of modesty, but that cake, sorry, wasn't possible. For the price, in my opinion it should definitely be possible to bake a sheet cake yourself (and yes, we are gastro entrepreneurs ourselves). It's a shame, it's a real shame. All I can say about the rest is: Without this view, I don't think it will last long ;)

A very nice restaurant on the Zeiselberg in Schwäbisch Gmünd. I was there in the evening, it was very nice and you have a view of the whole city. It's also very nice for the children. There is a very long slide to the end of the Zeiselberg. Generally very good. A house is now being built there so that you can eat there all year round. There is free WiFi. General 4/5

Am 12. Mai 2024 war die Neueröffnung nach Umbau. Es gibt nun ein echtes Lokal mit einem schönen Innnenbereich, welcher rundherum verglast ist und man somit einen schönen Ausblick auf Gmünd hat. Der Biergarten selbst ist unverändert, nur Biertische und Bänke. Schlne Lage und toller Ausblick. Die Karte ist eigentlich dieselbe wie vor dem Neubau, nix spannendes.

Typisch schwäbische Vesperküche, einzig vermutlich veganes Gericht ist der kleine Salat, andere Optionen gibt es nicht. Die Getränkekarte ist auch übersichtlich, aber das Wichtigste ist vorhanden, schließlich ist das ein Biergarten und keine Bar. Tolle Atmosphäre und schöner Ausblick!!!

Sehr schöner Biergarten über den Dächern von Schwäbisch Gmünd. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal läd ein um den Sonnenuntergang bei leckerem Essen und Trinken zu genießen.Nur was schade ist ,daß die Portionen wenn man einen Wurstsalat bestellt nicht mehr so sind wie sie schon mal waren. Und das für 9.50 € .

Sehr schöne Aussicht. Tolle Rutsche für die Kinder. Wenn man richtig Hunger hat, kann man das Essen essen. Aber nicht zum genießen geeignet. Zu diesem Platz passt einfach das Essen und der Service nicht. Lieber Selbstbedienung und dafür besseres Essen.

Wir hatten hier einen schönen Nachmittag bei großer Hitze. Hier weht ein angenehmes Lüftchen und man sitzt im Schatten unter großen Bäumen.Der Service war sehr freundlich und der Wurstsalat mit frischem Brot sehr lecker und der Isodrink schön kalt. Die Aussicht ist klasse von hier oben. Gerne wieder!

Schöner Biergarten in top Lage, super Aussicht auf Gmünd unter großen Bäumen, der Wurstsalat war früher schon mal besser Speißekarte ausbaufähig. Preise für die Qualität zu hoch, freundliches Personal, Spielplatz mit großer Rutsche am Platz.

Ein Ort mit schöner Aussicht auf Schwäbisch Gmünd.Eine Speisekarte mit reichlicher Auswahl von schwäbischen Gerichten,warm oder als Vesper.Die Preise sind absolut gut.Hervorzuheben ist auch ein sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal.Für Kinder gibt es auch eine Riesenrutsche.Ich komme immer wieder gerne an diesen Ort.

Aussicht und Ambiente sind toll. Aber das kommt davon, wenn man keine Pommes in einem Biergarten im Angebot hat!!
