The service was absolutely terrible!! Unfriendly and inattentive!! The atmosphere is exactly the same as it was 30 years ago!! And I don't even want to talk about the food. Even the smallest menu changes are a problem, and you get strange looks. We won't be going there again!!!

Always delicious, whether it's Balkan cuisine, schnitzel, or steak: you can rely on the kitchen! And everything else is just perfect, too: the service and friendliness, the drinks, and, above all, the value for money are all superb!

Fantastic food. I've rarely eaten something so good and delicious. The staff is very courteous and attentive. If we return to the area, this will be our first choice for dinner. The chef himself goes around and asks how we're doing – absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!

I like Croatian food because my husband is from Croatia. But this was completely unacceptable. My turkey steak tasted dry and tasteless. The cevapcici tasted of plastic and squeaked when I chewed it 😖 The asparagus was poorly peeled and the bottom wasn't even cleaned. One of them was dark inside – definitely anything but healthy. I didn't like the service because they were arguing so loudly about me ordering melted butter and then wanting an extra portion of hollandaise sauce (€4.85?!) that you could hear it all the way to the table. The atmosphere was rather stiff. I'm just used to it being different... And the price was amazing! Sure, everything has gotten more expensive. I only drank a spritzer, my husband had two beers (instead of 4/5), and the bill was €75?! My husband always tips well! But this time it just wasn't worth 60 cents – I hope they know what that means? I don't understand the good reviews at all. Authentic is different 🤷‍♀️

Went here again after a long time and was pleasantly surprised by the food. Therefore 5 stars, something has changed. Service, OK nice, but I personally don't like it when I still have cutlery in my hand because I've just eaten the last fork and the plate is already taken away. What in my opinion was absolutely not possible, there was a family with 2 children sitting at the next table and these children were extremely loud the whole time, you could hear them all the way to the toilet. The parents or even the operator could have prayed for some consideration, of course children are allowed to have fun, but that was really too extreme, a little quieter would have been nice, we would have liked to stay a little longer, but after an hour of constant strain on our ears and therefore a headache, we left.

Super large portions, everything freshly prepared. Price-performance ratio is right. Nice staff.

Review by Rainer and Daniel. We have eaten at the Bergischer Hof several times. The food is always a 10 out of 10!!! The boss Mico is always in a good mood and likes to make jokes. The rest of the staff is also always nice and friendly. Gladly again !!!!

We were extremely dissatisfied. There were lots of schnitzels on the website at a special price on Mondays...we were there on Monday 12/30/24 and there was no mention on the website of just a small Christmas card. Schnitzel ordered anyway at full price - my cordon bleu was probably frozen - dry, little in it, out of the deep fryer... the vegetables were frozen, pulled out of the water - not seasoned with a teaspoon of hollonndaise on top - the fries thin, unseasoned, different long with black spots (poor quality)..very bad everything...the salad from the buffet was wilting, the sauce didn't taste good...the host was uninterested and unfriendly...my The husband ordered hot chocolate, what he got was half a glass cup full - and not real cocoa but probably from a can (rip off) - I also ordered ice cream with hot cherries - what I got was a soup made of ice cream with 2 (!) cherries , the rest of the raspberry mash (real crap) - cream that wasn't freshly whipped - another failure. My husband was somewhat satisfied with his Jägerschnitzel. Never again...never ever again...for that money we can get delicious food somewhere else..

Today we spontaneously ordered and picked up a steak platter for two people. We are thrilled! A huge (!) portion that couldn't be done even with three people. 2 fillets, 2 rump steaks and 2 chicken steaks, plus more than enough vegetables, side dishes and salad. We'll definitely do this again soon! Absolute recommendation

The food was great and there were 11 people who were very rudely asked to leave after 2 hours. Absolutely bottom drawer. Never again have been there many times

I have never been greeted and served so rudely in my life as in this restaurant! The food was okay, but that was probably the best thing about this place. If looks could kill, we would all have died. I wanted to order an ice cream 1 hour before the end and was literally turned away. The waitress just said that I shouldn't order anything else because new guests would be arriving in an hour and the table had to be cleared. The neighboring table, where the wine glasses were still full, was also asked to stand up to make room for new guests! But the worst thing was that the waitress insulted us in Macedonian and unfortunately I could understand what was being said, namely insults. Overall an absolute disaster, I will never visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

We reserved a table for 16 people from 2:30 p.m. and left over €500. Staff very stressed and rather unfriendly. Shortly before 4 p.m. we were asked to pay because the table had been reserved again. It's a shame that you're treated like that and basically thrown out. But there are other restaurants that are open at Christmas.

Oh you happy...! Unfortunately not! The service staff really managed to ruin our Christmas get-together with the family. It was a disaster from start to finish. Starting with the male waiter's outbursts of anger because he didn't react quickly enough when he asked who the Coke belonged to, to a loud insult towards us in his language that one of our family members understands, to another outburst of anger when we were just given a coffee wanted to reorder - whatever is wrong with generating more sales - up to the climax: explaining to my grandmother not to order desert anymore because other guests would be coming in an hour anyway. CRAZINESS! I've experienced a lot, but I've been spared this experience so far. Shameful behavior. At the end, people complained loudly that some of the group paid individually with the words "what kind of Christmas is this for you - I've never seen everyone pay individually like that!" The waitress, who was also completely incompetent, was visibly angry that there was no tip and angrily threw the receipts around after she had crumpled them up. So, without exaggeration, it was truly a complete disaster. NEVER AGAIN !!!! Endlessly disrespectful.

Long-established restaurant offering delicious Balkan food. The prices are okay. The staff is very friendly and always asks if everything is OK or if anything else is needed. We go here regularly and have never been disappointed. We'd love to come back.

The food is rather average. Onion soup a little flat with vegetable broth. The minced steak was made from dry minced meat. The price is ok. The ambience is also ok - as you would expect. The service is good.

Inconspicuous from the outside and easy to miss. Inside is also rather antiquated. But if you can overlook this, you will be able to count on very good cuisine. I have eaten many dishes there. meat and fish. Everything was always perfectly prepared and served very well. The salad bar allows you to have a starter course. Monday to schnitzel day. The meat comes from the local butcher. I'm currently going there more regularly with a friend who just appreciates the cuisine and doesn't need a special ambience. Then the whole thing fits.

Super restaurant....My dear wife felt the need to bathe in their delicious cream sauce, she liked it so much. And then this huge portion. And the salad was also excellent and fresh. A real treat to have such a freshly prepared crispy salad. Also very nice and competent service who is always there at the right time. Overall, we are more than satisfied and will definitely come back to Bergischer Hof to eat super delicious food. The menu offers plenty of choice and there is something for everyone. Highly recommended.......

The food is excellent - prices are appropriate but appropriate for the quality. The service seemed overwhelmed/somewhat rough; there was probably a lack of staff that day. Ambience is quite nice, sanitary facilities are well maintained. Parking spaces are scarce due to the location, restaurant - unfortunately there are no own parking spaces. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not air-conditioned. Unfortunately, there is only the sidewalk/entrance area for smokers - it gets tight there.

Schnitzel lady art and schnitzel kruste were disappointing. The schnitzels were soggy. The fried chops were mixed with bacon and were floating in the fat...so they were limp and not well done. The fries were limp and tasteless. The accompanying salad, which you can put together yourself at the salad bar, was once again disappointing. It was all luke warm and not chilled.

The meal was okay. But the service is terrible. Unfortunately 🙁 Extremely long waiting time and totally unfriendly waiter who lost his tone. Thanks but last visit to the store.

Luckily we were invited here by friends over five years ago. All the dishes are so delicious that I eat them within a very short time. The pancakes are also great and simply perfect. The staff is super pleasant.

I ordered pickup from the local today. Due to a cold, I went to the restaurant with an FFP2 mask to pick up the food! When I went to pick up the food, the owner said he couldn't understand me because of my mask and he said the restaurant wasn't a hospital and I should please take off my mask. I have never experienced such absolute disgrace and unfriendly behavior! First and last time ordered from this restaurant!

Became expensive. Unfortunately too expensive... Some dishes also look bought and not homemade. It's really too much for that. In summer it's often nice up on the terrace, but you still can't ignore the increased prices...

Weihnachten mit der Familie 17 Personen, essen war ok nur CHEF und Personal sehr unfreundlich es wurde Essen gebracht was nicht bestellt wurde und zum Schluss sollten wir ein essen bezahlen was keiner hatte. Es war wieder mal toll dort einzukehren. Das Essen war absolut Top und mega lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente ist nicht das neuste aber das muss es absolut nicht. Das Essen ist absolut ein Besuch Wert.

Delicious food at a reasonable price.

Da fällt mir montan nur folgendes ein: große und sättigende Mahlzeiten, prompte Bedienung und günstige Preise.

Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Das Ambiente ist sehr einfach und die Präsentation der Speisen sind einige Jahre zurückgeblieben, daher absolut kein überzeugendes Highlight. Wir bestellten uns die Schweinefiletmedaillons „Bergischer Hof“ mit Champions und Bratkartoffeln und das Cordon Bleu mit Kroketten und Kaisergemüse. Dazu gibt es jeweils einen Salat den man sich selbst am Buffet zusammenstellen kann. Das Essen gleicht dem Niveau einer Kantine und das merkt der Gast am verkochten TK-Gemüse und an der Sauce Hollandaise aus dem TetraPack. Auch wenn die Portionen sind sehr groß und preislich günstig sind, hat die Qualität noch sehr sehr viel Luft nach oben. Es ist geschmacklich nicht berühmt. Trotz allem, das Restaurant war an Allerheiligen um 18:00 Uhr fast voll und dadurch ist eine Reservierung empfehlenswert.

Na ja..., sogenanntes Kaisergemüse aus TK Ware in Fertig Hollandaise ertränkt, fade Pommes, "Salat Buffet" zur Hälfte aus Dosenware und Eimersoße, Pljeskavica scheinbar Convinience in der Friteuse erwärmt und sehr geschmacksarm...., dafür waren die Preise sehr stramm!! Erstaunlicherweise war der Djuvedjreis sehr gut und hat mich als Einziges wirklich überzeugt!

Das Haus atmet den Charme einer vergangenen Zeit, als "jugoslawische" Restaurants noch zahlreich waren. Es ist innen blitzsauber, erinnert aber im Ambiente an die 70er bis 90er Jahre. Es war sicher einmal ein echtes Balkanrestaurant, bietet aber heute ein weit breiteres Angebot mit Steaks, Schnitzeln, Salaten usw. Der Service ist außerordentlich freundlich und zügig, die Preise fair. Besonders zu empfehlen der Montag jeder Woche, wenn alle Schnitzelvariationen - und es sind viele - zum tollen Einheitspreis von € 11,90 angeboten werden, und das inkl. kleinem Salatbuffet und Beilage! Ein empfehlenswertes Haus für alle, die ehrliche Hausmannskost ohne Chichi suchen.

Traditionelles altes Restaurant das schon lange dort in Betrieb ist. Es ist immer wieder Urig und weckt alte Erinnerungen da man dort schon als Kind war. Das Essen ist super und die Mitarbeiter sind stets freundlich bemüht ;-)

Super Essen, ich hatte ein wirklich tolles Steak. Wir haben (oben) aber sehr lange vor unseren leeren Gläsern gesessen und keiner hat es gemerkt oder Mal gefragt ob wir noch was trinken möchten, obwohl der Laden nicht unendlich voll war. Das Ambiente ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber gemütlich und sauber. Das Essen hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt, das ist ja die Hauptsache!

Wer eine gute Balkan Küche essen will muss unbedingt dort essen. Preis/Leistung ist super und das Fleisch ist wie immer auf den Punkt. Der Chef und das Team sind Top.

Sehr rustikales, gemütliches Restaurant. Die Portionen sind sehr groß. Ich hatte das Zanderfilet, was sehr lecker war. Auch der Wein ist sehr gut. Am besten gefallen hat mir das sehr freundlich Personal.
