The food was truly fantastic. But the restaurant and the dining room were very crowded. Unfortunately, the service suffered as a result. We had a very long wait for more drinks and more than an hour for the dishes to be cleared. It's a shame, otherwise it would have received a full star rating.

The pork was dry, to be expected at a beer price of €5.50 for a 0.3l. Never again!!!

The three of us spontaneously went there on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, there were no free tables inside, so we found a wind-free corner outside. After the waiter had already taken our drinks, he came back a short time later and directed us to another table for four. He explained that we shouldn't have pushed the two individual tables in the corner together to keep them free for two people each. Therefore, our wind-free corner didn't work out, and there was a bit of a draft at the new table. The beer garden was and remained half-empty, so it was completely pointless to herd us back and forth. Incidentally, the very two tables we had pushed together also remained empty. On top of that, we were given one set of cutlery too short, and my father had to run after the waiter to get some. Customer service takes a different approach. The food was okay; we were just barely full. The potato slices were dry and unseasoned.

A truly fantastic restaurant! The food is top-notch – fresh, delicious, and authentically Greek. What's especially nice is that you can sit comfortably both inside and outside. One small wish: some Greek music in the background would make the atmosphere even more perfect. A huge compliment to the waiters – super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We felt completely at home. Highly recommended! 🇬🇷✨

We (7 adults, 3 children) visited the very nice beer garden on August 9, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. We weren't able to place our order until over an hour later, and then waited another 45 minutes for the appetizers. It was no surprise, then, that the main course also took 50 minutes. You should definitely order the farmer's salad for €14 if you like lots of green onions with half a tomato, a few slices of cucumber, and three peppers—a disgrace. Even the "nightcap on the house" offered when ordering the bill took another half hour. When we asked a waiter to speak to the manager, nothing happened; no one came. Today, August 10, 2025, I see on the website that this waiter was one of the brothers who took over the place. He was even too cowardly to answer any questions. Never again!!!!!

We came here for dinner years ago (still under the old owner). Unfortunately, we received a very unfriendly welcome and were told there was no room. Just call, maybe there'd be a space. From that day on, almost 10 years later, we never went back. A week ago, we simply gave it another try and ordered takeout. My conclusion: absolutely fantastic. Incredibly polite staff. Since I didn't want to order by phone, I drove there and didn't even have to wait 15 minutes for my food. Super fast. Then at home, we unpacked the treats. Everything was beautifully arranged in the containers. Not just thrown in. And the food? Absolutely fantastic! Everything was delicious and we were really full. So, I definitely recommend this restaurant. And next time, we'll reserve a table and enjoy the wonderful ambiance.

Okay, a large terrace. That's wonderful, but when the waiter doesn't notice for 10 minutes that you've sat down at your assigned table, and then you have to wait a good hour for your food, it spoils your mood. And why, folks, are the portions so large that at least half the guests send something back or take a doggy bag with them?

The three of us ate there and had absolutely no complaints. The meat, the gyro... not to mention the fresh salad 😉... everything, including the side dishes and sauces, was truly delicious and served hot. The service was equally excellent; they asked us several times if everything was okay and if we needed anything else. We'll be happy to come back. 👍

We were there with several people. The first and last time. Ambiance and beer garden very nice. Unfortunately, inattentive service. People always walked past the table without noticing the empty glasses. Only by calling out did someone come. The food so-so. Additional payment for fried potatoes (2€) and that had absolutely nothing to do with fried potatoes. Potato wedges mixed in some tomato ingredient. Fried eggs are fried on both sides. Tzaziki just have a weak taste and no kick. The grilled one wasn't great either, it was pretty dry. It's not for nothing that food was left on every plate. Conclusion: there are a number of simple snack bars where you are better served

Very large portions. Courteous service, grilled squid was not to our liking. Ouzo every now and then. Very attentive and helpful when recommending wine. Dessert lava cake is a poem!

Very cozy atmosphere, delicious food (we had the meze plate and the bifteki plate, halvas for dessert), attentive service and good value for money.

Since the change of ownership we have been disappointed again and again. The most recent experience: Metaxa gyros where the sauce could only be guessed at, garnished with far too much cheese. Not nice to look at and above all unappetizing. My wife had a chef's salad, the gyro was barely seasoned and too dry. Overall, as regular guests, we have had too many bad experiences recently.

We were in the restaurant for the first time. We were very pleasantly surprised. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff was very attentive to us. The best part was the food. It tasted really great. Juicy, very well seasoned meat,... We can only recommend the restaurant. We will definitely come again! 👌

We were here for the first time today, the food was very tasty and plentiful. My 79th shrimp with rice and seaweed salad in a separate bowl (great), were cooked to perfection, butter tender, really delicious!! The staff was super friendly and very attentive!! The food and service were very good. But we had reserved a Christmas party for 16 people in advance with a name and time, and still all 16 people had to wait outside until a table was found and prepared for us. Because the waitress gave our reserved table to other people “accidentally” assigned. VERY CURIOUS but not nice for everyone (not just for us)

The food at the Bergischer Hof is still good, and the meat in particular always impresses with its quality. However, the other dishes have changed noticeably, which is unfortunate. The dessert on our last visit was particularly disappointing - unfortunately it did not meet previous standards. We hope that the previous high standard will be achieved again.

5 stars the first time. Very good and tasty food. The service was courteous and good. Price-performance ratio is OK. Unfortunately I have to revise my rating after the second visit. The baked feta cheese was cold in places (fridge-cold) and the pork tenderloin was inedible (dry and tough). However, the service was not interested in the complaint. There was no apology and no discount. The second visit to this restaurant was my last!

After a company stole our place, we were left standing in the cold for almost 30 minutes. After that I ordered snacks #30 and got fish snacks. I don't like fish. Unfortunately it wasn't standing anywhere. When I asked the waiter about it, he tried to take care of it and didn't come back. The slightly older operation caused additional unrest, why do you have to walk when operating? I've eaten there 3 times, now the last time, it was my last time...

Wir hatten auf den Freitagabend nicht reserviert und es war sehr voll. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und wir haben einen schönen Tisch im hinteren Teil bekommen. Der Service war klasse, das Essen kam schneller als erwartet und es schmeckte sehr, sehr gut. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.

Very nicely renovated. We had a very tasty meal. The waitresses are very attentive! The bowling alley has also been repaired again. Unfortunately we didn't take any photos of the food, which was very poorly presented.

Were there for the first time, the food was ok except that the gyros were way too dry and the potatoes had no salt and the salad dressing was too sour. We didn't have a reservation and sat down at a free table for two. There was no reservation sign anywhere. The waitress took the drink order. Then the boss came and asked us to leave, we weren't allowed to sit at the table but had to let us know beforehand, etc. He said the restaurant was full. I come from the catering industry and learned that in the past you didn't have to register, tables were marked as reserved. We left, the boss came after us and said there was still a table until 9 p.m. Well, we assumed, it was still early. We then sat in a pathologically lit hall with corresponding background noise. First we were delivered the wrong food, then the right one after about 30 minutes. After that, service came every 2 minutes and asked. a proper conversation is not possible. Well, and at the end we were charged a bottle of water or liquid gold for €7.50 (!!!!), which we didn't drink (we only noticed it when we got home). Conclusion: no, not a recommendation, there are better restaurants. and water for €7.50 is an outrage!!

We were able to reserve a table at short notice. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food was very, very tasty. It is rare to find a bifteki filled with two kinds of cheese and mustard and vegetables. Extremely delicious. At the end we each got an ouzo. We'll be back.

After the change of tenant, I changed my rating significantly downwards -Gyros far too dry, as if they had been kept warm in the oven for a long time. -Staff very nice. -Food comes very quickly. -Very loud. No second attempt on my part.

Beware of rip-offs - funeral service! We enjoyed being guests very often for years. We also held a family member's funeral there. 11 people were registered from the start. The table was also set for 11 people. 8 people were there. So far so good. When we received the collective bill from the funeral home, we noticed that they were billing for 12 people instead of 11 people. I then went to the restaurant personally and spoke to both the new and old owners about it. It was said that we might have eaten more. This wasn't the case as we only had coffee and the 2 bottles of water on the table. Cake and rolls were already for 11!!! people ordered. They probably wanted to check this and report back. I already had the impression here: it doesn't bother her. Very sad how they treat regular guests here. When further questions were asked, we were told that the case was still with the tax advisor. For me it's not about the €18.50 but about the audacity of how you treat guests. Bad service means you lose regular customers even when the food is good - a shame.

Wir waren in diesem Jahr dreimal in der Taverne Katogi und jedes Mal sehr zufrieden! Das Essen war immer lecker, besonders die Kartoffelscheiben, welche schön knusprig waren und nicht so fettig, als auch das Gyros! Die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte (die man sehr gut als Hauptgericht verzehren kann) war ebenfalls immer variantenreich und schmackhaft! Das Personal freundlich und zuvorkommend - wenn auch manchmal etwas desorganisiert - aber für uns war das kein Problem, wir waren ja nicht unter Druck und haben die Zeit genossen!

If you like Greek food like it is served in taverns in Greece, this is the place for you. Delicately seasoned with herbs and spices according to ancient Greek traditions, literally every bite was a pleasure. A real recommendation!

I can only recommend eating a meal in the beer garden on a sunny day. Even unusual coffee requests were creatively fulfilled... (I wanted a double espresso with milk in a latte cup....) gladly again

Food was delicious, prices went up and portions went down.

Food below average. Service tried hard but was completely overwhelmed. The outside terrace is quite nice, even if it is located directly on a busy street.

Our conclusion is: Never again! - As soon as it got dark, most of the tables had no light at all and the neighboring table had to use the cell phone flashlight. - when only a portion of fries was ordered as the main course, the waiter remarked: "no... no more money or what?" Absolutely inappropriate and outrageous... - the fries were also absolutely wobbly and when this was told to the waiter, he reacted snidely and offended, absolutely childish. - The light in the women's toilet was also broken and people suffering from epileptic seizures were best not to enter it. - every 5 minutes a waiter asked if everything was tasty. - the reservation was ignored. - generally inattentive service and unfriendly service - the ouzos from the ouzo plate only arrived after a long wait and demand. - the food wasn't really good for the price either.

Amazing place with amazing staff. Definitely stop off here when in Ios. Could not rate it higher!!!

More than disappointed! We sat outside in the beer garden, the chairs were much too hard and when we asked for cushions, they promised some but none were brought. Alone. We had to wait 20 minutes to get our drinks. And then again waiting for our food order to be taken, so in total we waited a good two hours for the food. Then you lose your good mood. With the ouzo platter we waited in vain for the ouzo that was included.

The place is simply too full now... Service is no longer up to par - it's a shame! Had to wait 1.5 hours for food today. It was really extremely long... The food wasn't as usual either, unfortunately only a few leftover pieces of meat were brought to the plate. Far from being in the usual quantity and quality. Drinks came after 40 minutes, after the starter. It's really hard to believe for us today. When asked, the answer was that we didn't order any drinks at all... No, that was it for us today with Katogi... It's a shame, it would be better if the focus was on fewer guests and better service instead...

Super delicious food in a cozy atmosphere and with very attentive service! We had gyros baked in Metaxa sauce with cheese, a small salad and extra tzatziki - everything was really tasty. The portions are very large, we had the rest packed up and took home with us. You can sit both inside and outside. There are a lot of places outside, we managed to get a place without a reservation without any problems. There is also a large parking lot right in front of the door. Can only recommend the restaurant! :-)

Meat was incredibly dry. It just kept growing in the mouth. Sat there for over 40 minutes without a drink. When clearing away the dry meat was mentioned and people also asked “interestedly”. No excuses nothing!! Invoice required. After another 45 minutes we went to the front. We should have to wait there. After a few minutes they said the card machine was out. Paid without tip. But it wasn't asked again. Paid full price. Completely exorbitant prices for the food and the “service”… money for nothing: I’m just annoyed!

Unfortunately not recommended after the change of ownership. We were there on Wednesday. Admittedly there were a lot of guests there. There were no more gyros, we had to wait over an hour for the food, and the service was completely overwhelmed. Then came the worst bifteki I've ever eaten, unfortunately a total disappointment. Sorry, that's not really my style and maybe an exception, but for me it won't happen again.

Besuchten das Lokal am 03. Juli.2024 . Es war gut besucht , Nur schade das die Wartezeit fürs Essen recht lang sind. Die Servicekräfte sind junge adrette gut aussehende südländische Burschen und Damen. Genau dieses Ambiente möchte man auch als Gast bei einer Griechischen Taverne erleben. Kommen immer gerne wieder leider waren die letzten Tage keine Reservierung für uns möglich da alles ausgebucht war.

Ein schönes Lokal in dem man sowohl drinnen als auch draußen sitzen kann. Es gibt auch eine Kegelbahnen und einen Festsaal. Hunde habe ich auch gesehen und sind dort wohl willkommen. Man wartet länger aufs Essen, aber das ist auch normal für ein Restaurant denn es ist schließlich kein Imbiss. Keiner der Kellner war zu uns unfreundlich, im Gegenteil. Man gab sich wirklich Mühe

We've heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and read the other reviews, but unfortunately we can't understand that at all after this visit. The price-performance ratio is not right at all. With the lamb fillet on spinach for €30 you get a huge portion of frozen spinach with tiny pieces of lamb meat, there is no question of fillet. The bread that was served with the starters was hard, probably from the lecture. I don't think there's anything else to say about a bottle of mineral water 0.75 for 7.50... The ambience also needs improvement, the telephone that rings all the time for reservations is in the middle of the restaurant and is answered there, where you can overhear every conversation. For half the price it would be a solid restaurant but I expect a lot more and I can't understand the other good reviews

Been there with a larger group. No more gyros at 7 p.m. The bifteki as an alternative wasn't particularly good (where was the cheese). Paying at the end was a challenge. No comparison with its predecessor.

Kein Ambiente, nichts was an Griechenland erinnert, weder drinnen noch draußen. Das Fleisch völlig durchgebraten, die Salatsauce war schleimig, offenbar ein Fertigprodukt, das Tsatsiki glibberig. Die Preise sind für diese (mindere) Qualität zu hoch. Zudem sind die Stühle im Biergarten derartig unbequem und ohne Polster, dass sich der Po danach malträtiert anfühlt. Keine Empfehlung!

Brazen rip-off! I had canceled the included ouzo at one dish, but still had to pay for it. The innkeeper wasn't willing to simply calculate it out. This ruins the entire stay.

Ate well, sat well. Very child-friendly staff. The outdoor area will soon be redesigned. Then it will be even more beautiful for children.

Price/performance is unbeatable. Yes, the prices are on the high side, but the quality and portions are commensurate. I'd rather spend 1-2€ more and have e.g. a well-prepared meat (butter-tender). Friendly service at all times.
