We had the pleasure of experiencing this beautiful inn as part of a wedding – and we were thrilled! The location is simply stunning, with a fantastic view that is especially unforgettable at sunset. The outdoor ceremony was even more atmospheric and truly perfect. The culinary experience was also outstanding: The in-house wedding cake was by far the best I've ever tasted. The four-course menu was also fantastic – a delight both visually and tastefully. Overall, an all-around perfect location for special occasions. We would return anytime and highly recommend this inn!

A truly lovely place to enjoy good food. We've been there several times because the kitchen does a remarkably solid job. The value for money is hard to beat. The owner has his team under control and an impeccable overview. While not everyone in the service team is a trained professional, they are very attentive. The ambiance is top-notch, with some potential for attention to detail here and there. The food is excellent for this price range. If you're interested in the food: the amuse-bouche and lobster soup, as well as the venison and potato side dish, were very good – the pea soup was a bit too sweet, and the chocolate cake a bit too dry. We'd be happy to come back!

On August 8, 2025, we celebrated our outdoor wedding ceremony followed by a reception at a wonderful mountain inn, and what can we say? The service was incredibly polite and attentive. The food was incredibly delicious, with something for every taste. Mr. Gerasch conjured up an American barbecue buffet inspired by our first wedding in America, with matching desserts and an incredibly delicious cake. I highly recommend it!

We celebrated our wedding here at the Berggasthaus Niedersachsen! If you're looking for the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding followed by a champagne reception, dinner, and party, this is the place to be. The outdoor wedding in Kastanienpark was a dream! Overall, this location up on the mountain is truly incredibly beautiful! After our ceremony, Oliver's team was immediately on the dance floor with champagne for a toast and was particularly attentive throughout the rest of the day! The cake that Oliver baked himself after the reception was incredibly delicious! It was even well-received by the guests, who aren't usually cake fans, and in the end, we ate the whole cake except for three slices! The appetizer, buffet, and dessert left nothing to be desired. Everything was incredibly delicious; you couldn't eat as much as was served. The service team was once again very attentive. As soon as the drink was finished, the next one was served, without having to wait forever. Absolutely fantastic! At the party that followed, the waitresses even got carried away with a few party dances, and they also had a ton of fun behind the bar, dancing along! At midnight, a few mini pizzas were served for those who were a little peckish! I have to say, as a bride and groom, we faced a lot of obstacles from various sides beforehand. But we discussed these problems with Oliver, and he always had an idea about what we could do differently and how we could avoid all the problems. And he really did everything possible for us to make this day unforgettable! We received nothing but positive feedback from our guests. Be it about the location, the food, the service, whatever. It was all positive! So, everything was done right! Thank you Oliver and team! You're simply amazing, and if anyone asks us where to have the perfect wedding, you're definitely our number one! I got to know the inn last weekend as a guest at a wedding. The food was excellent, as you would expect from one recommended in the world famous restaurant guide. The outdoor area was great and was used a lot because the weather was great. With the large area and the tree house there is also something for children. Only part of the inn was rented, so other guests started coming in after a certain time. Thanks to the pleasant and, for me, surprisingly relaxed approach of the team on site, the celebration still felt very private. The service was on par with the food, professional but not stuffy. Very nice restaurant with great cuisine and very good service. Risotto and ravioli as a starter were delicious, as was the veal liver and corn-fed chicken as a main course. We'd love to come back.

We had the vegan menu and were blown away! And that is rarely the case for us. We are not surprised that the restaurant has already had a Michelin star four times. Great food, great service and still down to earth, even with the prices. About 8 years ago we had a completely vegan wedding here and even the non-vegans loved the food. This time we won't wait so long again and will come back soon. Absolute recommendation for everyone, whether vegan or not.

The Berggasthaus Niedersachsen exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The rustic furnishings with wooden paneling and warm light create a pleasant ambience that invites you to linger. The large window front offers a wonderful view of the wintry landscape, which gives the evening a special touch. **Service:** The service was consistently attentive and friendly. Our waiter was knowledgeable and took the time to explain the house specials to us. The evening was also pleasant, as the waiting times between courses were very reasonable and there was always a smile on the staff's faces. **Eat:** We started our dinner with a **Beef Tartare** which was absolutely delicious. The combination with the quail egg gave the dish a special sophistication and made you want more. The taste was perfectly balanced and the fresh preparation let us know that we were in good hands. For the main course we chose: - **Wienerschnitzel:** The schnitzel was excellently breaded, fried golden brown and tender. The side dishes complemented the dish perfectly and made it a classic treat. - **North Sea turbot:** The fish was perfectly cooked and scored with its delicate taste. The preparation was light and tasty, making the dish a highlight of the evening. The presentation of the food was attractive and the portions were more than sufficient. **Conclusion:** Our visit to the Lower Saxony mountain inn was a complete success. From the warm service to the tasty food to the relaxing ambience - it was a wonderful experience. I can highly recommend this restaurant, both for festive occasions and for a relaxed evening for two. Surely we will come back soon!

Tolle Location, tolles Essen, toller Wein - solide und nicht überteuert! Flexibel und nett - zum Menu wollte ich gern ein anderes Dessert. Das wurde ohne Umstände und Aufpreis umgesetzt. Die Bedienung war wohl neu und musste noch ein bisschen lernen, aber stets nett und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gern wieder und freuen uns auf ein Menu im Winter, wenn der Kamin an ist und draußen Lichter aufgestellt sind (so stelle ich es mir dort im Winter vor). Danke!

I will never forget this beautiful day on August 30, 2024. Oliver, you and your staff deserve a thank you that is hard to express. We are endlessly grateful and happy to be able to celebrate our special day with all of our loved ones at your mountain inn. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to celebrate our wedding celebration in 2020 and Oliver gave us such great advice that we made our 5th wedding anniversary our unforgettable day. No matter what worries or concerns I had, Oliver and his team literally took them away from me so that in the end I could worry and celebrate stress-free. For me it is clear that if I host another party it will only be at the Berggasthaus Niedersachsen. The food there is a dream, the service is more than accommodating and Oliver, you are a really great person. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You gave us everything we wanted.

Nach einer kleinen Wanderung haben wir diese tolle Location entdeckt. Schönes Gebäude, super Lage und auch ein toller Außenbereich, der gerade bei gutem Wetter zum Verweilen einlädt. Wir haben nur Getränke zu uns genommen - der Service war sehr freundlich. Ein Blick in die Karte ließ erahnen, dass hier auf hohem Niveau gekocht wird - das werden wir bei unserem nächsten Besuch ausprobieren!

I was overwhelmed by the ambience, getting there unplanned, not through the front entrance but via a historic staircase at the back of the property. That alone enchanted me. I had an excellent coffee in an incredible atmosphere. Deluxe feeling at a fair price. I haven't experienced anything like this in a long time.

How wonderful was my daughter's wedding. Incredible!!!!! We felt so well taken care of. The beautiful ambience, the super delicious food, the really super, delicious wedding cake, the small delicacies in between... with super chilled drinks... every guest enjoyed it... nothing more is possible. If you're willing to spend a lot on food, the mountain inn is a big recommendation! What I particularly like is that there is no pretentious arrogance on the part of the staff. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and doesn't frown if you hold the cutlery differently than at the royal court.

We got married in the mountain inn and it was just perfect. Beautiful place, the hospitality was absolutely professional and the food was of the highest quality. All wishes were fulfilled and everyone was happy. The young service staff in particular left a lasting impression on us and everyone else; it couldn't be more attentive and polite. We were able to celebrate our wedding in this wonderful location. There couldn't have been a better location. Yesterday we celebrated my brother's wedding at the Berggasthof Niedersachsen and it was almost perfect all around. Food 11/10 Service from the entire staff was very attentive, always friendly and to the fullest satisfaction at all times. I would go there again at any time and highly recommend it to every guest. Personally, I was more than positively surprised.

We were at a wedding reception and were thrilled by the ambience and the whole location. We were particularly impressed by the delicious food. The homemade wedding cake was not only a feast for the eyes but also particularly delicious. The boss and staff are very warm and competent and we felt very comfortable. Definitely recommended!

I tried drinking black tea there today and was clearly disappointed. The tea steeped for far too long and was very bitter. Only the female staff was motivated and tried hard. It's unusual not to get cake with coffee or tea in a place like this. Maybe the food justifies the Michelin star, but the ambience and service don't. My companions had coffee and cappuccino and were also dissatisfied.

Were there on Sundays at coffee time. As a rule, there is no cake, we were told. You first have to see whether there is anything left of an event. 😂😂It took forever until we were informed that there was nothing left. The coffee and cappuccino were undrinkable. The female staff tried very hard, the young man was completely unsuitable. We were very disappointed.

Our wedding celebration was perfect all around. Mr. Gerasch and his team were terrific, accommodating and nothing was missing. Food and service excellent. We are very happy to have celebrated here and would like to thank the Berggasthaus team

We went to this fabulous restaurant yesterday for my friend's birthday. I had wanted to go there for a long time. So the birthday was the perfect occasion for it 🤗 as I expected, the food was to die for. We chose the seven course menu. From the taste to the perfect garnish, words cannot describe it, simply wow! The ambience, this sweet house, the facilities, we were thrilled. Romantics will definitely get their money's worth here. The staff was very polite, friendly but not intrusive. Our evening was wonderful in this restaurant...except for my headache at the end 🙈 Many thanks to the team...

Wir wurden als unangemeldete Gäste um 20 Uhr abgewiesen, da die Küche schon geschlossen hätte. Schade, da wir uns auf der Website informiert haben, dass bis 22 Uhr warme Küche angeboten wird.

Tolles Ambiente mit herzlichen Service. Qualität der Speisen ist gewährleistet. Allerdings war die Käseplatte sehr minimalistisch geraten dafür ein Punkt Abzug. Ambiente einzigartig in der Region und sehr gepflegt. Ein schöner Ausflug mit schönen Waldspaziergang.

Sehr schöne Location zum Feiern

Positiv zu bewerten ist, dass der Chef tatsächlich kochen kann, was inzwischen auch in hochpreisigen Restaurants nicht mehr selbstverständlich ist. Genial schmeckte der gebackene Ziegenkäse auf Blattsalat. Die Ente war gut, aber nicht überragend. Die Lage ist wunderschön, gerade im Winter. Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend. Einzig negativ anzumerken ist, dass Gäste -auch abends- häufig Hunde in das Restaurant mitbringen.

Einfach nur toll, essen, wandern und danach wieder gemütlich einen Kaffee trinken.

Alles super, tolle Lage, super Küche, netter Service. Aber beim Kaffee geht noch was. Was als Espresso und Cappuccino auf den Tisch kam war leider eine Enttäuschung… schade nach dem tollen Essen.

Wir haben dieses Jahr im Juni unsere Hochzeitsfeier im Berggasthaus gefeiert und denken immer noch sehr gerne an diesen Tag zurück. Oliver Gerasch und sein Team haben den perfekten Rahmen für unsere Vorstellung von einer Hochzeits-Gartenparty geliefert. Der Garten bietet einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf den Deister und wir hatten mit unseren Gästen einen tollen Nachmittag bei bestem Wetter und abends eine schöne Party. Unsere Gäste waren sowohl von dem Anwesen als auch dem Essen restlos begeistert. Die Absprachen mit Herrn Gerasch liefen sehr professionell und angenehm und es wurden alle unsere Wünsche bedacht und umgesetzt. Das gesamte Serviceteam war den ganzen Tag stets freundlich. Wir hätten uns keinen besseren Ort für unsere Hochzeitsfeier vorstellen können!

Die kurze Anreise aus Hannover lohnt sich, sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, durch die Bank sehr gutes Essen und unglaublich herzlicher Service. Vielen Dank noch einmal.

Am 2. Oktober durften wir unsere freie Trauung und die anschließende Feier im Berggasthaus Niedersachsen verbringen. Es war eine rundum tolle Feier! Oliver hat uns von Anfang an toll begleitet und all unsere Wünsche möglich gemacht. So wollten wir gern ein Grill-Buffet haben, aber was uns und unseren Gästen dann aufgetischt wurde, hätten wir uns nicht träumen lassen. Wahnsinnig lecker und vielfältig! Und auch, dass zwei unserer Gäste an Zöliakie leiden wurde berücksichtig und toll umgesetzt - alle waren happy. Alle Servicekräfte waren sehr aufmerksam und uns hat es nie an etwas gefehlt. Wir würden es also jeder Zeit noch mal genau so machen und können das Berggasthaus aus tiefsten Herzen nur empfehlen!

Das Abendessen am heutigen Tag war eindeutig die Krönung eines sehr schönen Urlaubs und der perfekte Ausklang für einen ereignisreichenTag. Wir verstehen nicht, warum dieses Restaurant "nur" vom Guide MICHELIN empfohlen wird - unserer Meinung nach hätte diese exzellente Küche auch einen Stern verdient. Die Gerichte sind ausgefallen und trotzdem bodenständig und auch der Service steht der Küche in nichts nach. Wir waren begeistert.

Ich durfte vor einigen Tagen dort als freie Rednerin eine Trauung machen und muss sagen es war toll. Die ganze Atmosphäre, das Personal usw sind absolut großartig. Ich habe mich als Dienstleisterin dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Ich wurde freundlich empfangen und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Selbst wenn man nicht heiratet kann man dort wunderschön essen gehen und einen tollen Spaziergang machen.

Wir haben Ende September unsere freie Trauung und unsere anschließende Hochzeitsfeier im Berggasthaus Niedersachsen gefeiert. Es war alles einfach nur perfekt! Das Essen, der Service, die Hochzeitstorte und die Location waren einfach super. Wir als Brautpaar und unsere Gäste waren mehr als zufrieden. Wir können das Berggasthaus Niedersachsen nur weiterempfehlen!

Eine wunderbare Hochzeit gefeiert, herrliche Location, sehr guter Service

Wir waren auf einer Hochzeit geladen, die im Berggasthof stattfand. Es gab nichts zu bemängeln. Alles top und sehr professionell; selbst auf den Regen gab es eine gute Lösung. Das Ambiente / die Weitläufigkeit ist vor allem für Familien mit Kindern sehr zu empfehlen :) Weiter so!

Auch für pflanzlich essende Personen eine edle Anlaufstelle. Wunderschöne Parkanlage, schön eingedeckt, netter Service. Es gibt immer ein veganes Menü mit wahlweise drei oder vier Gängen. Wir entschieden uns für drei Gänge. Es begann mit Brot, dazu wurde Butter gebracht, dann aber durch Olivenöl ersetzt. Ein Gruß aus der Küche folgte, köstlich. Die Vorspeise war ebenso sehr gut. Bei der Hauptspeise lagen statt hausgemachten Seitanschnitzeln leider unangekündigt panierte Selleriescheiben auf dem Teller, obwohl wir uns bereits im Vorfeld für das vegane Menü angemeldet hatten. Hätten wir dies vorher gewusst, hätten wir Gazpacho genommen. Das Personal zeigte sich verständnisvoll und kam uns in der Rechnung kulant entgegen. Beim Dessert war das Mousse au Chocolat leider sehr fest, das Sorbet war sehr gut. Man lud uns noch auf Espresso und Digestif ein. So war es trotz der kleinen Pannen (deshalb je einen Stern Abzug) dennoch ein sehr schöner Abend! Wir werden beim nächsten Menüwechsel sicher noch einmal einen Versuch starten. Das Ambiente ist wunderschön!

Wir waren am 7.7.23 bei einer Hochzeit in dem wunderschönen Gasthof. Von der ersten Minute an war es ein Verwöhnprogramm auf allerhöchstem Niveau! Perfekter Service, super aufmerksam. Das Essen mega lecker. Die location ein Traum und wirklich gepflegt. Ein perfekter Gastgeber, mit dem man auch tolle Gespräche führen kann und der sein Team so toll führt das man merkt das sie alle Spaß haben. Und das kommt eins zu eins beim Gast an. Ich würde gerne mehr Sterne geben als Google es vorsieht. Danke für den wunderschönen Tag 👍👍👍👍

Am 19.06.2023 haben wir unsere freie Trauung im Berggasthaus Niedersachsen durchführen dürfen. Did Location ist atemberaubend schön. Voller Natur, mehr als gepflegt. Herr Gerasch ist super professionell, mehr als verlässlich, versteht sein Handwerk, ist locker und immer freundlich. Der Service ist mehr als perfekt. Alle sind zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Speisen lassen keine Wünsche offen. Selbst unsere Extrawünsche zur Art der Hochzeitstorte und Veganer/vegetarischen Speisen wurden mit Liebe umgesetzt. Jede einzelne Speise wurde handfrisch selbst zubereitet und perfekt angerichtet. All‘ unsere Gäste waren mehr als begeistert und wir würden am liebsten sofort nochmal dort heiraten. All‘ unsere Wünsche und Erwartungen wurden bei weitem übertroffen! Mehr als 5 Sterne wert! Danke für alles!

Wir waren erstmalig im Berggasthaus und sind zuvor eher zufällig auf diese Location gestoßen. Für die Feierlichkeiten anlässlich der Taufe unserer jüngsten Tochter waren wir im Berggasthaus eingekehrt. Zuvor erfolgten sehr nette und gut beratende Vorabsprachen mit Herrn Gerasch. Unser 3-Gang Menü war wirklich hervorragend, für diese Qualität gibt man gerne mehr aus, für uns definitiv gehobene Gastronomie. Für die Kinder konnten wir spontan die Speisen wählen, ebenfalls klasse und sehr individuell. Darüber hinaus war auch der Service hervorragend. Jeder Wunsch wurde einem erfüllt. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen und bedanken uns bei Herrn Gerasch und seinem Team für einen tollen Tag.

Was für eine unvergessliche Feier in einem wunderbaren Ambiente! Wenn man einen Sommernachtstraum für mehr als 80 Gäste plant, dann genau so. Stilvoll authentisch und voller Wertschätzung. Liebenswerter Empfang der Gäste im Garten mit Ausblick in die Hügel, zuvorkommendes und freundliches Personal und tolle Getränke. Das Essen am Buffet später war sehr vielfältig und hervorragend, das Fleisch auf den Punkt. Bemerkenswert bei einer solch großen Feier. Bis spät in die Nacht war das Fest auch im Gasthaus eine Wucht. Vielen Dank, dass wir uns so willkommen fühlen durften.

Wir waren auf einer großen Feier in diesem wunderschönen Ambiente,das allerdings etwas renovierungsbedürftig ist(Toiletten,Außenplatten,Holz auf den Sitzbänken gebrochen) Wir hatten ein Grillbuffet, das Essen war lecker,allerdings war der Chef nicht sehr auskunftsfreudig und zuvorkommend,wenn er nach seinen Speisen gefragt wurde. Die Servicekräfte waren bemüht,teilweise aber überfordert....für den Anspruch, den das Restaurant selbst stellt,eher mäßig. Nur die Lage reißt es raus....

Jeder muß letztendlich selbst entscheiden, ob das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt - wir waren eingeladen, da stimmte es. Unsere Gastgeber????

Wir haben im Berggasthaus Niedersachsen eine wunderschöne Mai-Hochzeit in der Größenordnung von ~ 80 Gästen gefeiert und können uns gar nicht oft genug bei Oliver Gerasch und seinem tollen Team für den rundum schönen Tag bedanken. Oliver Gerasch ist sehr freundlich, höchst professionell und erfahren sowie unkompliziert und verlässlich. Das Essen sowie die Torte waren köstlich und reichlich, unsere Gäste haben alle geschwärmt. Das Service-Personal war äußerst freundlich, aufmerksam, gut gelaunt und kompetent. Die Location selbst liegt wunderschön am Wald- und Feldrand und hat unseren Traum von einer eleganten und stilvollen „Gartenhochzeit“ mit viel Grün und Blick auf den Deister mehr als erfüllt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist top, wir sind rundum glücklich und können das Berggasthaus Niedersachsen wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Toll, etwas teurer aber lecker und ein wunderschöner Garten

"Ein magischer Ort" seit vielen Jahren... ist das Berggasthaus Niedersachsen in Gehrden am Waldrand. Idyllisch gelegen, gemuetlich, Kueche gut sortiert, spannend zubereitet und sehr fein, Personal freundlich, Inhaber ne Wucht (auch dank exzellenter Weinempfehlungen), ... alles toll! Komme gerne wieder - am liebsten ins Kaminzimmer - auch ohne offizielle Einladung :-)
