Even if the name suggests it, no bento boxes are sold here. It's a normal sushi shop. Had yakiniku and a 6 maki, the latter had a very hard nori. It tastes ok

We got the ramen to take away. However, these really didn't live up to our idea of ​​ramen. The soup and the chicken didn't really taste like anything. In general, it wasn't really ramen. More of a bland soup with chicken and broccoli. There are better restaurants in Munich

The food was very tasty and the service was very friendly and quick. We were with the children. There was great material for painting to shorten the waiting time and even great kids' menus. Someone thought of that :-)

if in Munich, then in the BENTO-BOX - this has been the standard for the last 15 years. Now this habit has been broken: long waiting times when ordering, there was simply not much on the menu, the food was rather mediocre, especially the "burger" was a joke and then unfortunately the service was not up to scratch.

Hello, well we ordered sushi from you yesterday, we're usually happy, but this time it was delivered terribly, all the food in the bag had fallen out of the packaging and was lying loose in the bag + those were probably the smallest rolls I had I have ever seen it (but the price remained the same) the size used to be normal but yesterday it was a disaster... see photo and I have small hands!

Atmosphere is nice, and the waiters are quite helpful. But the taste of the sushi is average

One of four main courses came with the wrong meat. When we complained it said that according to the device we ordered chicken. However, this was entered by the service person and not by us. At first the blame was placed on us, then we were apologized. Unfortunately, a solution (e.g. we could simply get additional beef in the ramen, if necessary for an additional charge) was not offered. Overall the service was rather slow. The food was good so far, although I've also had spicier ramen.

This is the best tofu I have ever ordered from a Japanese restaurant. Tofu Katsu Bowl, I can only recommend it with udon noodles, yummy.

Honestly, its for sure overpriced. Even tho we used neo taste app. We spent 50 euros without drinks. I think it’s too much. We ordered burger with shrimps, sushi box and teriyaki chicken. All was bad :( I really was so disappointed because how could you make tasteless Asian food? Chicken was dry and with fat (it wasn’t fillet) and for Sushi also I can’t say it was wow, it was small portion like twice smaller than usually served in other places. The atmosphere is nice and the waiter was also very friendly, but the food and prices are not matching. If you want to eat something, I wouldn’t recommend this place. I put 3 starts only because of the chance to try all of this with the discount (10 euros), but if I knew that it’s not tasty at all, I wouldn’t go.

Was here for the first time today. I was not convinced by the value for money for my dish. Over €20 for a main course which was basically a small pork schnitzel. Nothing special in terms of taste. If I come here again, I'll eat something different. The service was generally nice and attentive, although our waitress seemed a little annoyed. (But their kind would be at home in a pub)

I was really shocked at the quality of the food at Bento Box on Leopoldstrasse 42. We ordered takeout and tipped in advance. In total we paid almost €70, and with tips it was around €75 or €78. What we got in return was simply unacceptable. The tuna was rotten and smelly, the peppers were rancid. Everything tasted old and spoiled. To make matters worse, our order included a menu that wasn't ours at all, and our actual order was completely missing. Of the five menus we ordered, we could only eat two to at least be full. However, you couldn't call it enjoying. Unfortunately we had to throw away the remaining three menus. We made the mistake of shopping there again. A really bad shop. I cannot recommend Bento Box on Leopoldstrasse 42 under any circumstances.

Ich war wirklich schockiert über die Qualität des Essens bei Bento Box auf der Leopoldstraße 42. Wir haben zum Mitnehmen bestellt und im Voraus Trinkgeld gegeben. Insgesamt haben wir fast 70 € bezahlt, und mit Trinkgeld waren es etwa 75 oder 78 €. Was wir dafür bekommen haben, war einfach unakzeptabel. Der Thunfisch roch nicht mehr frisch, die Paprika war alt. Alles schmeckte alt. Zu allem Überfluss war in unserer Bestellung eine Sushi Gruppe , das überhaupt nicht zu uns gehörte, und unsere eigentliche Bestellung war somit falsch. Fast die Hälfte ging in den Müll! Wir haben wieder den Fehler gemacht, dort einzukaufen. Ein wirklich schlechter Laden. Ich kann Bento Box auf der Leopoldstraße 42 keinesfalls empfehlen.

Great location, exciting menu, delicious food. The service was quick and experienced, although she had her cell phone to her ear almost the entire time and was talking on the phone while she was serving. That seemed a bit uncharming. It's a shame, because otherwise it was a well-rounded culinary experience that wasn't exactly cheap. Gladly again, but then without cell phone service.

Ich hab diesen Ort am 14. Juli mit eine Freundin zum dritten Mal besucht. Die Kellner servieren dort immer widerwillig und brauchen sehr lange, bis sie an den Tisch kommen. Gestern ist eine Situation passiert, die diesen Ort für mich für immer geschlossen hat. Wir wollten uns nach dem Arbeitstag ruhig EM anschauen und etwas essen, deswegen haben wir 3 Ramen-Burger bestellt. Da ich seit mehr als 13 Stunden nichts gegessen habe, dachte ich, ich bestelle mich zwei. Normalerweise war das Essen, das wir bestellten, köstlich, aber dieser Menüpunkt gefiel uns überhaupt nicht. Es stellte sich heraus, dass sie völlig geschmacklos waren, aber da der Hunger überhand nahm, habe ich trotzdem eine gegessen. Da sowohl meine Freundin als auch ich in die Restaurants gearbeitet haben, beschlossen wir zu fragen, ob wir das Gericht, das ich nicht gegessen habe, durch ein anderes ersetzen und den Preisunterschied bezahlen könnten. Wir haben absolut höflich nachgefragt, ob es möglich wäre, weil soweit ich weiß, bieten einige Laden diese Möglich an. Die Kellnerin hat angefangen, das gesamte Lokal wütend anzuschreien und sich wie eine geradezu unhöfliche Person zu benehmen. Als Antwort auf eine adäquate Frage erhielten wir einen Skandal. Wir bezahlten stillschweigend das Essen und die Getränke und gingen, ohne etwas zu essen oder zu beenden, einfach schweigend weg. Solche Menschen müssen einen Maulkorb tragen, wenn sie ihre Aggression nicht kontrollieren können

Eleven of us had dinner and were served by Barbara. Thanks to the fast and organized service, we received drinks quickly and received starters and main courses at reasonable intervals. The food was of high quality and, in my opinion, very tasty. Prices are therefore not the lowest but are justified. We recommend.

Top food, top service! Fast and fine!

Food was OK. The waitress barely exists. Didn't respond at first when the food was ready (the chef rang the bell) and the restaurant was almost empty. Price performance wasn't good but maybe ok for the location.

Was given cold food and when I raised the issue I was racially abused and insulted, I have travelled extensively in Japan and any Japanese person would hang their head in shame at this place, stay far away from this place

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. Extremely expensive, the food is usually way too sweet or too sour/salty. A strange mix of music, and the only waitress stands in front of the restaurant making video calls.

Unfortunately the restaurant was disappointing, based on the reviews I expected more. The prices are very high, the cooking leaves a lot to be desired: very sweet, very salty, as if the lack of taste had to be disguised. Tofu tasted sour. According to Open Table, there is a children's menu, but it wasn't brought. Nothing was cleared away, no requests were asked, and the restaurant was almost empty. The ambience seems cheap, especially in connection with the pop music. I wouldn't recommend it.

The two of us were there at lunchtime on a Thursday. The service was friendly, but couldn't really look us in the eye 🤷🏻‍♂️ The starter and bowl main course were very good.

The ramen burger consisted of dried out meat and rock hard noodles, the sushi was served on hot plates with the tuna warm, the burrito was not seasoned, the salad was fresh but bland.

My disappointing experience at the Bento Box on Leopoldstrasse: My visit to the Bento Box on Leopoldstrasse yesterday was extremely disappointing. The pasta dish I ordered was oily and absolutely tasteless. It lacked any spice and made it impossible to enjoy. The sushi was also disappointing, possibly even “old”. The taste left a lot to be desired, and overall it just wasn't tasty. The staff didn't seem to be in a good mood either. No smiles, no friendliness - there was no positive atmosphere whatsoever. I will never eat at Bento Box again and cannot recommend it to anyone. The prices are simply too high for the quality (€69 for two people to get bad food) that is on offer. Every Running Sushi Restaurant offers better quality and service.

Went to Bento last night, we were 3 adults and 2 kids… we were full of anticipation and hungry for Japanese food, unfortunately we were disappointed! The food came to the table in a mess, my starter at the end, my frame took forever and was very tasteless! Prices very expensive! Every Asian snack is better!!

So I refrained from giving a review here for a long time, because I've actually been going there for almost 20 years! For me, it was always a very nice Asian restaurant that somehow tried to stay western, which is why you only see Asian chefs in the kitchen and mostly German-looking staff. But now to the rating: In these 20 years, a lot has changed in terms of quality, service and price anyway. Food: I used to be able to get very excited about the food (among other things, I didn't have any allergies back then), but now it tastes pretty normal (I go there a maximum of 3 times a year). Sometimes there is gluten-free soy sauce, sometimes not (however, I would only recommend sushi, as the shirataki noodles or rice dishes are sometimes made with soy sauce, sometimes without, and then you never know whether gluten-free soy sauce was used). It tastes good, but it's nothing special (anymore), regardless of the 20-year magic. PS: Maybe also label the allergen card correctly. Price: partly because it has been a bit cheaper in recent years due to the 7% discount, you can now get 6 maki-cucumber sushi for almost €8, so I can recommend various places in the district with better service for less money. However, the food is always beautiful to look at! With a large sushi platter, the ginger, wasabi and of course the sushi are beautifully arranged. Service: I'm afraid we've been really unlucky the last few times, there wasn't enough staff there, so they didn't always notice us when we wanted to order something more. Even when ordering, the small, attentive detail was often forgotten, which we now come with children and who of course would like the small children's menu with painting supplies. Since we of course know how stressful this job is, we don't complain about things like that on site, especially when we're understaffed. With the drinks you now get more ice cubes than the drink and no more pretty decorations (i.e. with the iced teas). Ambiance: It's just unchanged. But it also has its charm because the bento box is so familiar. There are usually places for 2-4 people, but you can also put tables together inside and here and there 6 people can fit. Most of the time there are high stools to sit on and lots of dark tones overall. There is also a terrace outside, so when the weather is good you can watch people strolling along Leopoldstrasse. But you can also get smoke from smokers ;) Conclusion: So it is probably no longer visited as often as already mentioned. But it will definitely not be left off our list of restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat if you have celiac disease. (Attention, it is of course NOT DZG marked and therefore you enter at your own risk ;))

Love this place! It's one of my favorites. Had a couple of times where the food or service wasn't the best, but I think that's more the exception than the norm.

Service was slow unfortunately. I really liked the sushi overall. Price -performance was good in terms of sushi and noodles. There was a burger but made of noodle it was creative but terrible. Don't waste your money. And highly recommended eis-tee !!

Für den Preis, hätte das Essen besser sein müssen. Eher gemacklos, beim Ramen sind kaum Nudeln dabei und Toppings (Tofu, Hühnchen) kosten nochmal extra. Das Essen ist nicht schlecht, eher mittelmäßig, aber für den Preis erwartet man eigentlich etwas hervorragendes.

Essen ist nach über 2h immer noch nicht angekommen. Der Lieferstatus aktualisiert sich nicht und außer mit Storno wird einem nicht entgegen gekommen. Stand anscheinend schon länger an der Theke und wurde vom eigen Lieferservice nicht abgeholt, wäre dann wohl eh bei Ankunft kalt gewesen.

Bei meinem Ramen war das Fleisch roh und es war ein konstanter Toiletten Gestank in der Luft zudem kommt noch das unser Tisch von Anfang an schmutzig war. Das Ramen an sich war auch nicht das beste. Ansonsten war der Service recht gut.

Starter Mix hat normalerweise 5 Gyoza hat aber mir wurde nur 4 geliefert. Und mein Auswahl war gedämpft aber die waren nicht so.

Die Einrichtung und das Essen selbst waren eigentlich gut. Allerdings fand ich es störend, dass das Restaurant zwar um 11.30 Uhr öffnet, mir jedoch gleich zu Beginn gesagt wurde, dass alles erst eine halbe Stunde später bereitstünde. Abstoßend fand ich auch, dass sich zwischen den Fenstern und Sitzbänken Spinnenweben, Spinneneier und zahlreiche tote Insekten befanden. Diese Bereiche scheint niemand zu reinigen. Als mein Essen schließlich fertig war, musste die Küche mehrfach klingeln, bis die Bedienung sich endlich bemüßigt sah, das Essen an den Tisch zu bringen. Und das, obwohl ich der einzige Gast war. Mein Essen war daher leider etwas kalt. Die Bedienung war nicht unfreundlich, aber vermittelte auch nicht gerade den motiviertesten Eindruck.

Nettes Restaurant mit schwachem Service! Sushi und andere asiatische Speisen gut, zum Teil ausgefallen, aber nicht immer ganz frisch.

Sehr nüchterner und wenig einladender Einrichtungsstil, die Sitze sind ziemlich unbequem und laden nicht zum Verweilen ein. Die Freischankfläche ist auffallend schmutzig , leider gilt dies auch teilweise für den Innenraum. Nach mehreren Besuchen läßt sich feststellen, dass die Qualität der Speisen nicht immer gehalten werden kann. Manchmal isst man hier überraschend hervorragend, manchmal bereut man den Besuch dieses Restaurants. Der Service ist freundlich, manchmal etwas langsam und unaufmerksam. Nähe U-Bahn, direkt an der Leopoldstrasse…

Leckere Gerichte in einem schönem Restauran. Es gibt doch also noch ein Blattpapier für die Kinder zu zeichnen. Ein Minus: Wlan funktioniert nicht, deswegen bekammen wir keine Rechnung. Der Kellnner war nett mit ein paar Zeilen auf einem Stück Papier.

Sehr gutes Essen. Sitze nicht besonders bequem. Öffentlich gut erreichbar, Parkplätze sind Glückssache. Preise angemessen. Ergänzung 8/2021 Während der Covidphase war ich ein bisschen enttäuscht. Aber jetzt ist der Service wieder gut. Nahe am fünften Stern... Aber den geb ich nicht ohne Perfektion. Ergänzung 8/22 Nach dem Umbau, der ist gelungen. Sitze etwas besser. Service sehr freundlich, aber ein kleines bisschen lahm. Essen hätte etwas heißer sein können. Noch immer kein fünfter Stern. Ergänzung 5/23 alles wie gehabt.

Gutes Sushi und eine riesige Auswahl an ausgefallenen asiatischen Gerichten. Wir waren an einem ruhigen Sonntag Nachmittag dort und wurden super schnell bedient. Die Preise sind wie immer bei Sushi und frischem Fisch relativ hoch. Dennoch eine Empfehlung.

Ich kam nur um Crunchy rolls mit zu nehmen. Schon fast schade, dass ich mich nicht reingesetzt habe - das Restaurant ist mordern stylisch und ansprechend eingerichtet. Die Bedienungen waren mega lieb und auf zack und das Sushi (besonders die grosse Auswahl an Soßen dazu) war seehr köstlich. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. ☺️

Nothing about my experience there was terrible, it just simply disappointed. With us paying about 30-35 Euros per person we did just expect better. As for the food itself: The fried pork gyoza were okay, a bit unevenly cooked between the pieces but otherwise fine. The tuna however was tough and one piece was sliced way too thin, paired with the huge chunk of rice it was hard to eat and not enjoyable either. In general it almost seemed like there was no attention to detail. The pieces’ sizes both in width and length were quite different, the two tuna pieces looked different enough to seem like two different cuts. The sauce that came with the gyoza had a piece of spring onion swimming in it, soy sauce was dripping from the bottle and hadn’t been cleaned up, water and oil stains were still visible on the table.

Barbara hat uns super nett und schnell bedient. Die ramen war leider ziemlich fad und waren nicht sehr originell.

Wir hatten zunächst Vorspeisen bestellt. Leoder kam das Hauptgericht zuerst und erst viel später die Nachspeise. Nachdem wir die Frage stellten, ob denn nicht zuerst die Vorspeise kommen sollte hieß es, dass es noch kommt. Ohne eine Erklärung oder Ähnliches. Essen war lecker aber der Service naja..
