Beethoven in Flingern in Düsseldorf

Since it was raining during our visit, we couldn't sit outside. It was a bit dark inside. We were all looking forward to a delicious breakfast, and everyone tried something different. The latte macchiato was delicious, and the prosecco with orange juice was also really refreshing. I would have preferred the seeded rolls and the thick wheat rolls to be fresh and crispy. We had a plate for two people, but there were only three small pieces of butter, which was insufficient for the amount of bread. The same was true of the cream cheese, which we used instead. The same applies to two people: three pieces of feta, one piece of tomato, one slice of cucumber, and one strawberry. I didn't even try the cheese; it looked like cheap supermarket Edam, wafer-thin. The raw ham was okay, but the cooked ham was just molded ham with no flavor. Disappointing for €34.90.

A really nice, trendy restaurant in the heart of Flingern! You can eat outside here when the weather's nice! We only had breakfast, but it was delicious!

Very cozy shop, good food, great service

Dining under a tree in the green city on a warm summer evening was very pleasant. The drinks were nice and cold, the waitress was polite and friendly, and even asked for our preferences. We had three schnitzels with chanterelle mushrooms. Fried potatoes instead of fries were no problem and also very tasty. The crowd that evening seemed to consist of teachers and those who would like to be teachers. I will be back. The parking situation is terrible, though...

Last summer, I ate there with my daughter. She had homemade spaetzle topped with cheese. They were served in a pan. After she had eaten almost all of it, we noticed that the coating on the bottom of the pan was coming off. It was easy to scrape it off with a fork. Not very healthy. We pointed it out to the waitress. I hope they've got new pans by now or are serving the spaetzle differently. Otherwise, it was actually pretty good.

I wanted the antipasti vegetarian. It was no problem and tasted great. Very friendly there :)

Unfortunately, the operator is always in a bad mood and has no interest in maintaining healthy relationships with the neighborhood, let alone being nice to regular guests. Died for me first, it's a shame about the rest.

A delightful spot! The atmosphere is lovely, creating a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home. I appreciated the good variety on the menu, offering something for everyone. I opted for the salad with avocado, and it was fresh and satisfying. While not the most groundbreaking salad I've ever had, it was certainly well-prepared and tasty. Overall, a good choice for a pleasant meal.

We stopped by today for a few drinks, and overall, the evening was a 10/10. We were served by Thomas and were very satisfied. He was able to give us tips on our selection and was generally very attentive, open, and funny, which greatly enhanced our visit! We'll definitely be back :)

An institution in Düsseldorf. I'm not there often but when I do it's good. Especially outside in summer.

Just as the television tower belongs to Düsseldorf, the Beethoven belongs to Flingern. For years I have always been a guest with anticipation and gone home with a satisfied feeling.

A constant location :-).. ...always worth a visit👍 update 12/2024....one point more than the highest in every category....the goose leg is a "poem" - the orange sauce is a dream - the potato dumplings (for me they are dumplings) “to melt away”🫠

1/13/25 - Since we were in Flingern, we had the opportunity to go to Beethoven again. My girlfriend and I both had a burger. She with salmon, I an umami burger with meat. Both very tasty. She wanted sweet potato fries. Normal fries arrived, but the second she pointed this out, the plate was immediately taken away in a very friendly and nice manner and shortly afterwards just as nicely brought back with the requested fries. Service was generally very pleasant - both the young woman and the two men. We'd love to come back.

Update: The service makes the music, and it's currently great here, we were back on Friday after a long time. And had a wonderful evening. The team was very relaxed and the drinks and food were very good. The only downside was a cream on the antipasti plate but the team was so good that there can be no deductions for that.

Been there again for a long time and it was very pleasant. You immediately feel at home. Really friendly service, solid food and drink. A place to feel good.

Long waiting times for beer and generally slow service Prices are too high for the performance I still come every now and then because that’s just how it is. Incidentally, the young waitress, blonde and with glasses, is not like the rest. She is motivated. I believe in the younger generation again

I gave my daughter a voucher. You couldn't credit her 17 euros back. In addition, the service was very bad. My daughter had to get up twice to get cutlery herself. The small plate for the 2 year old son didn't come at all. On the first visit to your restaurant there was a snail in the salad. They still didn't want to take him back!!!@

This is my first review because I want to praise my living room in Beethoven. Why living room, I don't visit any other restaurant in Flingern, because the food is great, the service is really friendly, the price-performance ratio there is still right. Where can you find a glass of 0.2l wine for €5.60 that doesn't come from a 5l box and is excellent? In summer you sit on the terrace, which is very nice and offers space for both sun worshipers also shade lovers. In winter you sit comfortably inside. There is also a separate room that you can use for birthdays, which I also did on May 4th this year. That made my birthday an experience. I only have one tiny point of criticism. If you eat there so often, I would like to see more variation in the evening menu. This is also done in the lunch menu. But this tiny point doesn't stop me from continuing to eat there regularly. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant, even if I have to worry about not finding a place in my living room ;)

Yes, good old Beethoven - he probably hasn't been here for 20 years and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food - lunch of penne with chicken pieces on cheese and rocket for €10.90 - great value for money. Service worker Kira lovingly looked after me as a guest. This increases the feel-good factor. Update: I've now tried several lunch dishes (see attached photos). Everything was delicious, sufficient portions. The chili burger is also convincing. At lunchtime from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. the food comes to the table quickly. This pleases those who perhaps only have a short lunch break.

Really good chili cheese burger. Very juicy and goes great with the Sriracha mayo. The fries are also very crispy. The Homeade passion fruit lemonade is recommended. Food + drinks are available at a top price-performance ratio in a nice location with the possibility of sitting outside. The service always takes a little longer than in other restaurants but is relatively friendly. I'd love to come back.

Absolutely recommended. Had an iced coffee there and ate a piece of cake 🍰. The iced coffee was good and the apple crumble cake was very tasty. The service was also very nice and attentive. 👌🏼 We ate outside and it was relaxed and cozy. We would love to come back and will definitely eat something real next time. ☺️

Really good food! The varied weekly menu is great - great for the lunch break. And everyone in service is always very friendly.

The breakfast was delicious. The atmosphere is quaint! We would have liked to drink more, but the waitress always had her back to us and unfortunately wasn't very attentive.

I would like to update my previous reviews as follows: Unfortunately, the gastronomic standard can no longer be determined. I still really enjoy coming, but not because of the quality of the food. Rotten salad and the unfriendly owner are now more of a standard. The young service staff often seem overwhelmed and bored. As a guest, I would like to be treated in a (hospitable) friendly and courteous manner. I'm disappointed. My old review from 2020: A nice restaurant with attractively presented food - there is also a good selection for vegetarians. The breakfast is rich and delicious. The quality and the gastronomic standard is reliably high (see below). The small selection of homemade cakes is worthwhile. Unfortunately the cream doesn't taste good. In summer you can sit on the spacious terrace. (Addendum to my experiences in December 2022: The kitchen has deteriorated a bit - a shame.)

Wie schon einige Male hatten wir eine angenehme und gute Zeit. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen liebevoll angerichtet und sehr sehr lecker. Wir hatten die Gemüsequiche und die vegane Falafel- Avocado-Bowl und können beides nur empfehlen! Das schöne Wetter hat auf der Terrasse das Seine dazu getan, das Treffen abzurunden

The BBQ cheeseburger is recommended. The meat is light and juicy and the fries are very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

The Beethoven in Flingern is a good place to go for a hearty breakfast. When the weather is nice you can sit outside in the sun and choose from a variety of dishes on offer. Next time we'll come for lunch.

The ambience and service was nice, but I had the worst meal in a very long time. The spaetzle pan was dry, carelessly prepared and simply didn't taste good.

Telephone Table reservation didn't work, we had to leave again with 6 people 😠

Very tasty pale ale and IPA, but they also come at a price. Down-to-earth cuisine. Great service and a nice, cozy atmosphere. Sometimes there's a rush through the doors when a lot of people come and go. But you also have more fresh air again. You can definitely spend some lovely hours here.

The Beethoven is a living room. You enter the location and immediately feel at home. The staff is young and friendly. There is something for everyone on the menu and the prices have remained absolutely stable. The drinks menu is diverse. The wines at 0.2 are still at 6.50 or 6.90. what more do you want. Bar Café Restaurant - 3in1 and everything is great. We were here on a Monday without a reservation and were lucky, it got very full very quickly. Orders came quickly, service staff are attentive and friendly. There is also a good vegetarian selection

We had brunch here. Unfortunately we waited an hour for a coffee. Then another 30 minutes for the food after we asked to order food. Waiters were friendly. The place doesn't seem to care about a proper waiter/cook to customer ratio as everything was very slow. Otherwise the food was ok.

The best hamburgers ever are here. All the ingredients are fresh, the meat cooked to perfection, the onions and jam finely balanced, the cottage cheese spicy, the rösti as it should be. All the other dishes at the table were also celebrated. The service was nice and friendly and the ambience gives you that Feeling of coming home.

Super toller Service, obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten , hat man für uns ( 7Personen) Platz gefunden. Wir haben leider nichts gegessen, daher kann ich hierzu keine Bewertung abgeben. Aber es sah alles sehr lecker aus. Insgesamt eine sehr angenehme, familiäre Atmosphäre. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Es war super lecker und die blonde Bedienung war ausgesprochen freundlich, aber der etwas ältere Barmann der auch bedient hat geht ja mal gar nicht, ich arbeite selbst in der Gastro, und habe noch nie einen so unfreundlichen Menschen in der Dienstleistung getroffen. Unfreundlich, kein Blickkontakt, spricht nicht mit einem, wenn die Gäste freundlicher als das Personal sind, dann läuft was schief. Hätten gerne noch was bestellt, aber, dadurch ist uns die Lust vergangen, Schade.

Das Beethoven: unmittelbar in der Nachbarschaft, quasi perfekt für nach der Arbeit, wenn man keine Lust zu kochen hat oder für ein paar Bier am Wochenende. Das Essen ist solide, nichts besonderes, aber es schmeckt. Preise sind auch ok im Vergleich zu anderen Lokalen im Umkreis. Das Ambiente wirkt lieblos zusammen gewürfelt, ja sogar eine Bildschirmwerbetafel findet sich im Gastraum, sehr ungemütlich. Die sehr jungen und nicht erfahrenen Bedienungen sind nett, wenn auch zeitweise überfordert. Warum nur 1 Stern ? Überschattet wird das Beethoven, was m.E. (deutlich) mehr Potenzial hätte, von seinem unfassbar launischen Besitzer / Betreiber. Wagt es nicht ihn anzuschauen geschweige denn anzusprechen. Man wird nicht gegrüßt und wenn man noch ein Bier bestellen möchte bekommt man nur böse Blicke zurück. So schade um die eigentlich tolle Location, vielleicht einfach mal die Pacht abgeben und sich eine Auszeit nehmen und sich Gedanken machen, was im Leben einen so unfassbar unzufrieden macht. Ich komme erstmal nicht mehr wieder.

Ich habe zu Mittag gegessen in diesem Lokal. Die Stimmung ist urig, das Personal sehr freundlich. Hier bedient der Chef (?) noch selber mit. Die Mittagskarte war sehr abwechselungsreich. Ich hatte mich für die Erbsensuppe mit Wiener Würstchen entschieden-sehr lecker. Mit Brot dazu. Toiletten auch gut. Der Händetrockner wurde aber nicht von einem Ingenieur angebracht ;-)

Sehr freundliche Bedienung und aufmerksam. Das Essen,Pfannkuchen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und war reichlich. Cafe, kalte Getränke und Essen wurden schnell gebracht. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Bis bald.

"Gemütliches Ambiente ist nicht alles!" Ich verstehe nicht warum dieser Laden so hoch gelobt wird. Fehlt hier den Gästen der Vergleich zu anderen Lokalen? Fällt bei mir leider nur unter Durchschnitt, zu viele "Fails" die nach Verbesserung schreien. Habe hier gefrühstückt, wobei man eigentlich nicht viel falsch machen kann. Vielleicht gebe ich dem Laden noch mal eine 2te Chance, da er in der unmittelbaren Nachbarschaft liegt.
