Beck's in'n Snoor in Bremen

Reservations can be made easily online. Unfortunately there were only 2 menus for four people. The atmosphere is nice and rustic. We ordered 3x kale and 1x the Schnoor pan. The portion sizes are fair and the food is presented attractively. However, this came after only 10 minutes, which indicates that the food was warmed up. The meat in the Schnoor pan tasted the same as did the floury/woody-watery mushroom sauce, which wasn't good at all. The kale, on the other hand, was good, but the cooked sausage had already done a few more rounds in the pot. The piece of bacon didn't taste good either, the pee was good. When the staff cleared the plates they asked if it was tasty. We kindly said yes to the cabbage and pointed out that the Schnoor pan was not good at all. There was no reaction and the plates were cleared away without comment. With four people, four drinks and four dishes we paid €109. I definitely would have expected more for that.

Only the location in the middle of the Schnoor is worth mentioning. The food was just mediocre. The schnitzel is hidden under a not tasty breading and is far too small for the price. The fried potatoes were neither crispy nor seasoned in any way.

The fish, from Frost, was indifferent zero stars, vegetables from Frost one star, jäger schnitzel with brown sauce and ten mushrooms were for two stars. The beer and wine were good. The price was too high, compared to the quality. I bet it was all frozen food. Well my advice go there if everything else is taken, otherwise don't. McDonald's is a good alternative.

Tourist trap🙁 We ate at this restaurant based on the good reviews and were unfortunately disappointed. The schnitzel was mediocre, the mushrooms from a can and the spaetzle from a bag...the prices were awesome. Too bad...

We do not recommend this restaurant. Wanted to come in and have dinner at this restaurant. At first, we were examined appraisingly, then they rudely asked what we would like: drink or eat? We answered that we wanted to have dinner and drink beer. We wondered if the restaurant had outdoor seating on the terrace? It was very hot. The restaurant was empty. It had only a few diners at one table. We were again rudely told no. And they pointed to the table, sit here. We were stunned by such rudeness and unfriendliness. There was a pause and we were once again asked unfriendly whether we need a table or not? We refused to dine at this restaurant AND left. We did not expect that such a rude and unfriendly attitude towards customers was possible. After such a sad experience, we went to another restaurant, where we had a wonderful dinner and beer in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. We do not recommend this restaurant.

Like many other visitors, we simply strolled through the Schnoor district on Friday and Saturday. At some point we got hungry and we found this restaurant. As soon as we entered, we noticed that it was pleasantly different from the other locations. A restaurant that you would want and that we did not expect in this district. We quickly found what we were looking for on the menu... and that was a real surprise. A great meal and really on both days. We really didn't expect something like that. Price performance ratio absolutely top. Operation is great and the overall picture fits. Really only recommended. We are always happy to come back when the opportunity arises.

Great ambience, great service but the food wasn't of the quality we expected. The gnocchis are probably from a discounter, I would say the cheapest quality in terms of appearance and taste. I would have expected more. The side salad was ok. The salmon was ok, the sauce had little taste. The cheese is super good. The schnitzel was completely soaked and not the least bit crispy. The fries were good too!

It was rustic, delicious and all the waiters were super fond of children. We were looked after very well, served quickly and left full and satisfied. There is a great menu for children with several dishes to choose from.

We were on a gourmet weekend in Bremen with 8 people. At Becks in'n Schnoor we had a 3-course menu and had the choice of various starters, main courses and dessert. The service was very friendly and attentive. All of the dishes we selected were attractively presented and tasted good. Simply delicious. The guest room inside the half-timbered house has a rustic atmosphere.

(June 2, 24) Everything actually looked good, but the staff made us leave the restaurant and not come back! It seemed to be busy and we didn't have a reservation. The waiter who “welcomed us” wasn’t in the mood at all, didn’t really look at us or show us which table we should go to and only pointed roughly in one direction. When we arrived in the room there were two empty tables, one of which had a "reserved" sign and because there was no staff around, we sat down uncertainly at the one without a sign. That was of course completely wrong. But Even though we were seated and we noticed that there were new guests, nothing happened until we were finally given the menu and again until we were finally able to order It seemed that both waiters thought that our table was being served by the other and they kept walking past us without even looking at us, while other people around us who came later were already receiving their food When we got up, the waiters made comments along the lines of "I work here for 10 hours and just had a smoke right now, I don't need that." - It may be that the work can be hard, but we as customers don't need that! Then the waiters should take it out on their boss, but not on the customers! Because, as in our case, they don't come back in the end.

We were very satisfied with the food and drinks. The schnitzel with chanterelles was excellent! Nice ambience and attentive service.

I was in Bremen for a day. Unfortunately only for such a short time. Of course, what couldn't be missing was delicious Labskaus. While strolling through the Snoorviertel I came across this place and definitely had to stop and linger. You will find a very nice, attentive and friendly staff here. You really feel very comfortable there. So far I only have the comparison to Hamburg, but I definitely liked this Labskaus much better. Thank you very much for that, I felt very comfortable

Beck's in'n Snoor is a nice, quaint restaurant that fits the neighborhood perfectly. The portions are generous and the quality of the food corresponds to the prices. The waiters are attentive and friendly, making the overall experience enjoyable. However, I was negatively surprised at the reception by a person who was obviously the landlord or owner. His unfriendly manner, harshly welcoming many guests in broken German, left a bad impression. Phrases like "Food? Eat? This way, no discussion" were not only rude, but also inappropriate for the charming character of the restaurant.

Excellent experience. Cozy, small and warm place. We had dinner by the window, towards the beautiful alley. I took a dish with 4 different types of herring cooking, all excellent. Right price. Staff a little cold, but correct and clear in their explanations. Not a nice image of the waiter smoking and drinking beer outside the restaurant.

Unfortunately, my plaice was served to me with a lot of oil on my plate. As a result, everything became saturated with oil and was no longer crispy, tasty, but greasy. The fish itself was very tasty. The parsley potatoes were rather poor.

Super good and plentiful food. Delicious Bremen home cooking. You'll definitely be full and the price is right. On the left photo there is matjes with buttered potatoes and green beans on the right are fried with fried potatoes, pickles and apple compote. Both highly recommended

Great food, friendly staff, perfect service

Went to try a real traditional German food, but ended buying a steak with locally grown vegetables (this time it was asparagus). The steak was probably the best I ever tried. Was sorry for my days in Longhorn and outback restaurant. Even boiled potatoes were cooked with love. And cherry on the cake - the amazing view of the old historic part of the city with houses from 1600s...

Beautiful place continues the vibe of Schnoor district, nice finish of the long walk but beware — kitchen closes somewhere around 21! Menu in English is available on website, have fun turning pages:) I enjoyed fish stew and smoked fillet of trout on toasts. Non-alco Beck’s Beer is meh, not even close to regular Pilsner.

We recommend! We had asparagus with potatoes and a small rump steak and asparagus with potatoes and scrambled eggs. Plus a Becks or Alsterwasser, an espresso to finish - perfect! The asparagus was perfectly cooked, the potatoes were tasty and also perfectly cooked. The steak was cooked as ordered and tasted perfect! The scrambled eggs were plentiful and tasty. The service was super nice - everything was just right. Finally, the price: everything is within the scope of what is considered to be decent quality these days. We would therefore be happy to come back when we are in Bremen again! Thank you! 😊

Everything very good! Good food, delivered quickly, large portions. The atmosphere in the special place, in German style. Service at the level, very attentive, kind, they also speak English (an advantage for tourists). I went with the children, they delighted me that they have a children's menu at a decent price and generous portions. Plus each child's menu could be colored, pencils were provided for that. With this you won me over for good! At the end, the children also received a little attention, each a biscuit. Thank you for your high level of customer service, I would definitely return and recommend everyone to visit. Prices are good, generous and tasty plates, attentive service and customer care. The meal was delicious. I ordered Pann Fisch, which had two kinds of fish, one of which was salmon, and I don’t know the other one, but they were both very fresh. There are a lot of potatoes, and shrimps are added to the sauce, which tastes very delicious. I ordered the soup part, Bremer Hochzeitssuppe. Inside are asparagus, meatballs, eggs (in chunks, much like steamed eggs cut into cubes) and vegetables, asparagus. It’s really recommended to pair with bread!

We had dinner in the restaurant with 25 people at the weekend. The communication in advance went smoothly. The reception was very friendly and organized, the staff tried hard and competent. While Bremen is incredibly hospitable, this place is quite interesting. Courtesy is zero.

While walking around the Shnor district, we decided to have lunch and ended up in this wonderful place. The atmosphere is nice, the staff are warm and friendly, and the decor matches the area. Since we came for lunch, there was also a lunch menu, which we took advantage of. We took M16 Marktteller and M15 Salatteller. In the first course, it is worth noting the perfectly cooked meat, which was very soft, plus an additional salad was served with this dish. We also liked the second course, hot chicken salad with sauce. Plus the price, of course, is a serious difference between the lunch menu and the rest of the menu.

Fabulous Bremen, fabulous Schnor district and just a fabulous atmospheric restaurant. Excellent service, excellent cuisine, large portions, very friendly and competent waiters (they understood us even with our clumsy German); I want to come back here again and again. The place has some kind of magic of its own: an elderly couple at the next table even offered to take a photo of us, for which special thanks to them. Excellent dark beer Löwenbrau. We were there with 5 people in the early afternoon on a Sunday. We were greeted very grumpily and unfriendly. There were a lot of staff at the counter and no one felt responsible for serving us. It felt like we were causing a disturbance. When someone deigned to serve us, he was also very unfriendly. It's a shame it seemed more like a tourist trap to us. We didn't want to try the food. Then stayed with a drink. Definitely not recommended.

Well-known, typical Bremen inn with rustic charm in the Schnoor district. Home-style regional cuisine. Fast, friendly service despite the high number of guests at lunchtime. Decent portions, the price-performance ratio is right! The crab soup, cutter plaice with crabs and bacon and plaice with braised cucumbers were very tasty. Plus a tapped Haake-Beck. Even if you were a stranger you felt comfortable!

We were here for a vacation, 4 adults, 2 children and an infant. If I could give 10 stars I would. The service was incredible, every wish was fulfilled, whether the children's food came with the starter or the little coloring books for the kids. Everything was fresh and tasted just fantastic. The ambience is just plain old and you can't help but feel comfortable. If we didn't live over 800 km away it would definitely have become one of our regular restaurants. A small, rustic restaurant. The food was very tasty, I had the brawn. One small point should be noted...the toilets are really small. Having a few extra pounds on your hips can cause problems.

Service, prices and ambience were fine. The crab soup and drinks as well. I tried a Bremer Knipp for the first time... and unfortunately I realized that it's absolutely not my thing. I needed a schnapps in the hotel. The company can't do anything about it, so I'll remain neutral in my assessment.

Price performance for tourists... I lived in Bremen for several years and visited pretty much all the restaurants in Schnorr. Many of them are extremely good. See also other reviews in my account. Unfortunately, I can only advise against a visit to Becks. In my personal opinion, the kitchen consisted of frozen food and ready-made products. If the owner or chef has changed in the meantime, you are welcome to invite me to a test meal and I will adjust the rating according to the quality.

Comfortably furnished guest room, but unfortunately very dirty. The staff's warning about the impossible condition of the toilets was ignored. The food was okay, but didn't always correspond to the description on the menu. B. smoked mackerel was served instead of halibut, without any indication. The mushroom cream sauce for the schnitzel was a simple brown gravy and the 28.50 euro steak was almost cooked through instead of medium rare. All in all, it was a very negative experience. We won't eat there again even though we've really enjoyed it in the past. Update March 2, 2024 After the review has been online for 16 months, the restaurant operator is trying to delete it via Google. There it is claimed that it is a fake review. You can't handle criticism there...

Venison goulash with 2 pieces of meat, with hair inlay. The wedding soup was very bland. The best thing is the waiter. Young willing motivated. The older staff should attend the guest service training. No excuse for messy and expensive venison goulash. Nothing. Working past the guest as it appears to make the measurements. Sorry but not recommended. The owner actually forgot that I had made a reservation under my name on Christmas Day and is denying a visit! Cheeky!! If you delete criticism, it explains the many positive reviews here. I stand by my assessment and the experiences I had!

Old stylish place but didn't look clean. There's not much vegan options available. On the roasted potatoes that I have ordered was pieces of bacon😑.

We were seated very awkwardly, upstairs in the passage area. It was narrow and stuffy. The fried potatoes were great, but the meat was unfortunately very well done and hard. Unfortunately the sauce was made with canned mushrooms. The pasta wasn't warm, but the salmon was good. The portion of fries was very generous, but unfortunately the vegetable thaler didn't taste good. There were six mushroom slices in the mushroom cream sauce. We didn't like it that much.

I went there just to see inside, the whole corner was just too beautiful. So I ordered a beer, and the staff there just treated me as I wasn’t there. I had to sit on the bar, they didn’t even look at my face. At the end, I’ve said goodbye, and they just ignored me. I thinks it’s just a shame, because where they are located, and all the Atmosphere was just so good, and at the end I just wanted to get away from there as soon as possible.

We had one of the two tables outside on the street, but the waiter overlooked us. I was also stung 3 times by a wasp, including in !!! T-shirt in the back. My desperate attempt to get out of the shirt, as I heard from guests, greatly amused the waiter standing at the window... but he neither came to offer anything to relieve the pain nor to ask for more drinks... Once and never again! Anyway, I find it surprising how many bad and 1☆ reviews there are for this place - without anything seeming to change! Really not recommended!

Where should I start here? The evening at Becks in’n Snoor was mixed. We were a relatively large group that spontaneously got a table, for which we were very grateful. The waiter was rather mediocre, almost annoyed. Nowhere on the menu does it say that the fried potatoes traditionally come with bacon, so when our pescatarian at the table got fish and fried potatoes with bacon, the waiter didn't want to see it, let alone take it back. No, he went one better and asked whether it was for religious reasons or why he couldn't just eat it. This is hard to beat in terms of tactlessness. Even if it were, it's really none of the waiter's business. The food was okay for everyone at the table, nothing special. Prices are quite okay. The ambience is a bit old, but it has its charm.

Ein wunderschönes, altes Gebäude und ein wunderbarer Charme des Lokals. Ich hatte das Geschnetzeltes Züricher Art. Es war okay, aber leider dann doch nicht die absolute Erfüllung. Wer keinen Fisch mag, hat es in Bremen vielleicht auch nicht ganz einfach :D Aber es war rundum gemütlich (trotz riesiger Reisegruppe am Nebentisch) - von daher: 4 Sterne!
