A delicious (and large!) schnitzel, an Andechser beer and friendly service in a nice, rustic atmosphere. That's how it should be!

Top food, meat and fish perfectly prepared, salad also very tasty and not so unimaginative. Very nice staff. Unfortunately, a point is deducted because when it's full, it's incredibly loud and the air is cutting. Existing windows could not be opened because the lockable window handles were closed.

Some things change...and others, thank God, never do. Service and quality have remained very good for over 20 years. Here, XXL doesn’t just mean full, it means experiencing a lovely meal. Very good value for money even after the price increase!

Was a great tip.. make sure to reserve in advance.. Finding a parking space is a bit difficult so plan ahead.. but what a schnitzel... nomnomnom

Great place, very nice and attentive service. The schnitzel and mussels were very tasty. Unfortunately my goulash was bland and boring. The baked Camembert with toast tasted okay. Should have eaten the steak instead. Steaks are very good. But only 7 parking spaces that are always occupied. Completely stupid.

The three of us had dinner today. 2 meals were ok. Not one! My wife had ordered mussels, which were also served. The mussel meat was so tiny, gross, not even an appetizer! My wife complained about this immediately, but unfortunately nothing happened! Yes, it was then explained to us that the supplier was guilty, there was nothing we could do about it - without words -!!! We paid full price and my wife went home hungry.

A special place, in a tree trunk house with a cozy, warm atmosphere, super nice, competent service. Despite the short notice and the restaurant being full, we still got a place for 4 people. The eyes and the stomach were spoiled, the homemade lemon-elderberry jam was delicious, and our companions were also thrilled. THANKS

Comfortably furnished, slightly higher priced, schnitzel is plated large, but quite thin, but generous amounts of fries. A bit disappointed after the last visit: when paying by ec, the guest is offered in front of everyone to either give a 20% tip, a 10% tip or no tip. Since we all paid separately and the service wasn't great, we decided to use the "no tip" button. The waitress then left without a word after paying, which was only to be collected. No “thanks for the visit” no “have a nice evening” or “goodbye”. Will not visit the restaurant again. You don't want to have the feeling of being a second class guest in the restaurant anymore!

The amount of food is a bit overwhelming. The schnitzels didn't even fit on the plate. The restaurant is located in a commercial area, which I don't find that nice as an ambience. However, this is compensated for by the interior design.

Had schnitzel, was bigger than the plate, but very thin. Breading on both sides was twice as thick as the schnitzel. Very heavily fried, the breading was like sandpaper, and halfway through the schnitzel my tongue was so attacked that I couldn't eat the rest. I won't visit the restaurant again.

The food is very tasty and you don't have to wait long, the restaurant is also very comfortably furnished.

Had dinner there on Saturday evening, but you can't go there without a table reservation. It was full but you still felt like you were in good hands there. Very nice and attentive service. Had schnitzel with spaetzle, very tasty. You can also get the leftovers packed to take away. Price and performance are right here. We felt very comfortable.

Today we went to Walluf's most beautiful restaurant. We like to go out on Tuesdays and were here at the tree trunk house. There you can forget all your stress with a glass of wine and good food. I, as a die-hard Hessian, “love to eat hand cheese”, my wife comes from the Waterkant, she likes to eat mussels with her hand. We tried it out in a very cultured way that evening. We thought the food was perfect, we both enjoyed it. We can also only recommend the beer for dry throats. This is very clear because it comes promptly, fresh from Kirn an der Nahe. We think the atmosphere in the restaurant is phenomenal, the staff is first choice, we would love to come back again.

Simply a great restaurant, everything is right here, from the reservation to the daily special, roulade, two of which, a freshly tapped beer and, at the end, a strong espresso.

We don't know the store and went there without a reservation. Instead of being told in a calm and friendly tone that unfortunately there are no seats available, we are looking forward to a next visit with a reservation Never, never, ever enter this restaurant again and advise everyone not to, a little tip to the gentleman at the reception with his reservation book, please do some training in dealing with paying guests. Or find someone to do it for you, this gentleman is absolutely unsuitable... we ended up going to the Chinakrone in Wiesbaden with great hunger. I can recommend it to everyone...

In a rustic, beautiful ambience with a regional wine list and a long tradition, you will be served in the tree trunk house. The food was consistently down-to-earth, but the mmh delicious feeling was missing for me. The service was fine.

Extremely large and good tasting portions

We were there with a group of 10 people and had a very tasty meal. The schnitzels are very thin and look very large, and there are a lot of fries on a plate. The large salads were very tasty and well thought out, unfortunately the dressing was a bit sour and salty which spoiled the taste a bit. The dessert was super tasty but a large portion wouldn't have been bad compared to the schnitzel 🥲 The staff and service always tried to accommodate the number of people on site. Conclusion, we would like to come back and eat again and would like to try the menu again.

I had dinner at the tree trunk house last night. I had the chanterelle cream soup as a starter and the steak pan with chanterelles as my main course. It was very tasty. The waiter was very nice and even though there was company there, I didn't have to wait long for my food. I'll definitely come back.

Unfortunately, we haven't eaten at the Baumstammhaus for about 15 years. We were all the more pleased to see that neither the friendliness of the service nor the quality of the food had decreased even a bit. Compliment! Only the prices have (very understandably) changed a bit 😉

We sat outside, unfortunately there were a lot of smokers there, that can spoil the meal...the food is still very tasty, no question, the service was nice and attentive, but I honestly think the prices are I'm really getting a bit over the top, sorry...

Bottle of seltzer €7.50 is already Havy 0.2l wine €6.90 white autumn was my last visit here, price performance is at the top. We sat outside and were even visited by rodents who stole the leftover food on the floor.

We decided to sit outside, but the space is enclosed and the cigarettes from other tables were really disturbing. It was raining and the tents had leaks onto the seats. The food portions are ENORMOUS! We could've easily shared a dish. The restaurant doesn't accept credit cards.

My favorite restaurant for 10 years and have eaten here almost 100 times in that time, that says it all. Quaint restaurant with just the right (large) portions, delicious schnitzels and plenty of fries. Very nice staff and always friendly service You can always find parking spaces in the area; I've never had to walk longer than 2 minutes in a decade. And only cash is truth.

Really great! Food, service, ambience, great. Service very accommodating. I don't like breaded schnitzel with the sauce - no problem, you can also get the sauce extra or the schnitzel without breading. The second one was really tasty with clever ingredients and was completely sufficient as a “small” portion.

We had reserved for 4 people and were there on time. Since it started to rain, a room with cozy tables was completely closed to visitors who were sitting outside under umbrellas and wanted to move inside. We had to sit at a narrow table right next to the passage and were not allowed to take any of the tables in the free room. If someone decided to sit down for a table outside when it was forecast to rain, then if they wanted to move they could have taken the table assigned to us. The food wasn't the same as I knew it before. Large portions, but the schnitzel was very light and even with hardly any air bubbles and little spicy breading. The fries were way too dark. Much darker than other visitors' photos. The food was a disappointment for me

The people who think the food here is good either can't get anything decent at home or have no sense of taste anymore, it just doesn't taste good, it's overpriced and overrated

It was once again very good. Friendly, nice, clean and tasty. Not an xxl restaurant. Portions are the house portions and are also available smaller upon request. Otherwise there is something to take with you 😁. Child friendly ❤️. A culinary delight in terms of taste. Schnitzel not dry, steaks on point. The salmon is a poem ❤️.

Something that you don't necessarily expect in an industrial area. A massive wooden house, exactly with the coziness, lots of outdoor seating with parasols and wonderful food. The service is always very friendly and helpful. It's fun to stay here, highly recommended.

Apart from the fact that my companion was just wrong, the food really wasn't good, the salad wasn't tasty and the sauce didn't taste good at all, the schnitzel was recommended with cream sauce, personally the schnitzel didn't taste like anything and There was far too much, it was torture to eat half of it, where then came the sauce, which didn't taste good either. Fries were ok, but just like fries. Cola was served with ice cubes in winter and didn't taste like cola, but like bad water. Also far too few and the fries on a plate, where you don't get any more if the other person is too greedy for fries. Then the evening for two is just a drama. The black-haired waitress is very unfriendly and arrogant, a bit too confident in herself, she also makes fun of the customers' looks behind the bar, a very disrespectful waitress That was the first and last time there and I can't recommend it, it's too expensive and doesn't taste good

An absolutely different place. It's not often that you can eat in a restaurant that only exists in Bavaria or Austria in our region. Very nice staff. Delicious food and absolutely quite large portions. Regional and seasonal dishes, such as asparagus, are also offered.

Food was top as always. The service was very nice. But we waited almost an hour for the food even though there wasn't much going on. Which really bothers me personally. Are all the wobbly wooden chairs!!! (I always feel like the chair is about to fall apart). I would still like to come back.

Our favorite when it comes to good German cuisine. We've tried everything here before and every time it was delicious. The schnitzels are of course the classic there, but you should also try the rump steak. The prices have gone up a bit but where have the prices been?!! At least the quality has not decreased in any dish. We always like to come back

The “senior schnitzel” is a normal schnitzel in other restaurants. That was enough for me and the fries were great.

We were there on a Sunday evening with a table reservation. Had to wait almost 1.5 hours for our food. The schnitzels are very large but the taste could be improved. Unfortunately they tasted like they came from the deep fryer. With the paprika schnitzel you had to look for the sauce and the onion schnitzel had boiled onions rather than fried. In addition, everything was very tasteless. The only plus point was the service, which repeatedly apologized that the guests had to wait so long. I expect more value for money for these prices.

Super great restaurant. A log cabin where all rooms have a theme. We ate in the music room, it was super cozy and very, very tasty. Even though it was full, the service was always there. Highly recommended!!!

The tree trunk house is built on a rustic slope and is located in an industrial area. The selection of dishes is large, as are the portions. But I wouldn't take my minced steak again. Too big and unfortunately a bit too bland.

Wir waren mit Freunden im Baumstammhaus und direkt von der freundlichen Bedienung begeistert! Auch auf Allergien (Glutenunverträglichkeit) wurde Rücksicht genommen und super beraten. Man kannte die Karte perfekt und hat entsprechend empfohlen. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Portionen riesig. Alufolie zum Einpacken gab es direkt mit an den Tisch. Wir können das Baumstammhaus absolut empfehlen und werden wiederkommen.

We were there for dinner and had a reservation. We had Jägerschnitzel and Winzer Schnitzel, each with fries and salad. Everything was wonderful. The Winzer Schnitzel can be seen in the photo. The service was friendly and quick. We can recommend. All the best to the team
