- Location: Very central, directly on a busy main road. - Parking: Only on the street; there might be a paid underground parking garage or similar nearby. - Atmosphere: Very modern inside, lots of black and dark. It's a matter of taste. Not really suitable for a romantic evening (in the traditional sense). - Food and more: Many burgers, and you can customize your burger with your choice of toppings. The melted cheese and the bell-shaped lid are quite unique. - Service: Extremely attentive and friendly. We were offered several complimentary drinks because we arrived a bit late. - Prices: Moderate and excellent for the overall experience. - Other: Highly recommended; reservations are recommended for weekends. During the week, you can usually get in without one.

We were there yesterday, and the food was excellent. However, the service deteriorated; our table was no longer attended to regarding our drink order.

We went straight in when the place opened (5 pm), and the whole place reeked of grease. We got a table at the round table in the back, which is somewhat separated by a separate room. We had to throw open the windows to get out, and then, of course, we were sitting in the cold. The thick cobweb on the ceiling didn't look like Halloween decorations at all, but rather like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The floor was also extremely slippery and greasy. It definitely hadn't been freshly mopped. As for the food: it tasted okay, but the presentation was rather uninspired. The burgers were only lukewarm, and all in all, it felt cold, uncomfortable, and smelly for a somewhat higher price. We'll never be back.

Never had such a bad burger. Cold, tasteless, boring. And at such a high price. The cocktail was also a disaster. I don't understand how anyone could give this 5 stars. Incredibly bad and completely overpriced.

The burger patties were charred black on the underside, on both burgers. The sweet potato fries were also black. Why is this served? Why do I, as a customer, have to notice it first and then complain? The server didn't feel obliged to replace the food. Sad but true.

Everything was great. We enjoyed our meal, the service was great. As far as I remember, there's nothing to complain about! That was 3 years ago! Today, October 11, 2025, the worst burger ever. Frozen patty like a piece of rubber, cold, dry bun. The fries were mediocre at best. My girlfriend only finished it because she was so hungry and we had to wait over an hour. Really sad when you have to pay €16.90 or €14.90 for a burger!!!!

The burger at Base Kitchen was delicious and tasted really good. There's nothing to complain about here. However, the value for money wasn't right for me. For €18, the burger was much too small, so it didn't fill me up. Overall, a great taste experience, but too expensive considering the portion size. It's a shame.

We're at BASE.KITCHEN before almost every late BVB home game – and there's a good reason for that: a designated seat, super fast and friendly service, and outstanding taste. For us, they have the best burgers in Dortmund, a definite 10/10! 🍔🔥 The smaller menu makes sense, even if we miss the "Corona Bucket" a bit! 😉. The fact that cash payments have been abolished is completely understandable and legitimate given the break-ins. Overall: our regular spot outside the stadium!

Very, very long waits for food and drinks to arrive at the tables. The burgers were okay, but not outstanding as often portrayed on Instagram and other social media. Unfortunately, no cash payments are accepted.

Something went terribly wrong here, unfortunately, because the burgers at the next table looked good. We didn't even get that far, though. The waitress was only able to tell us which table we'd get after consulting with a colleague (we had a reservation!). By the time we got to the table, service had already ended. For 30 minutes, no one came to take our drink or food orders, and the restaurant was less than half full. We promptly went to another restaurant. I also tried to call the restaurant shortly before, but no one answered. I tried three times, had a dial tone forever, and finally got the recorded message "the number is out of service." If the number on Google and your website is no longer correct, please update it.

We reserved a table for four people four weeks ago for September 27th. This morning, September 26th, we received an email reminder of the reservation and three hours later we received a cancellation. Apparently, there were no more seats available. We find this outrageous. This is no way to treat customers.

Not recommended. My table was confirmed by email in the morning, but canceled by phone three hours later. When I told the lady that it was rather short notice, she just laughed. It was rude, even though my reservation was three weeks old, and it was canceled 24 hours in advance. Don't bother with this place.

We've been there several times and are always satisfied. The burgers and fries are great, as are the homemade lemonades. The vegetarian burger option is impressive both visually and tastefully. On every visit, we've had friendly staff and hardly any wait time. Highly recommended!

We were there today and tried to eat. The place wasn't empty, but it wasn't full either. Nevertheless, we weren't served within 25 minutes, even though we went to the counter to ask if we could order at the counter. The restaurant itself is extremely dark, and the restrooms aren't inviting either. We had plenty of time to check everything out. Then, hungry, we moved on to Ciccios. I would recommend it anytime.

We were at base Kitchen for almost three hours, and it was an absolute disaster. During that time, we barely managed to get two drinks—everything took an incredibly long time. The food: cold burgers and fries, two of the four dishes were completely forgotten, and when something finally arrived, it was the wrong burgers. We ordered three identical portions of fries with truffle mayo, but we got three completely differently presented plates—total lack of planning in the kitchen. The chef clearly has no clue, and there were far too few staff on hand, which was also evident in the poor organization. Overall, an extremely disappointing visit

It was my favorite burger joint. It's a shame they've taken all vegan/vegetarian options off the menu. The wait times were always okay, but we were happy to put up with it for good food. We probably won't go there anymore. It's a shame.

The prices are quite high, for example, €5.90 for a portion of fries. Sauce not included. Service was okay. All the bowls were so spicy that you could barely taste anything. We wouldn't take the trip again.

We paid just under €55 for a burger, a bowl, and fries with cheese sauce. After waiting over 40 minutes (probably even longer), the food finally arrived. But we were extremely disappointed: all the plates were returned almost untouched because the food tasted really bad. We only tried a few bites and then gave up. Even the drinks were brought extremely slowly. The server was friendly, but that's not enough when the service and food are so poor. One thing is for sure: we'll never be back.

Nice vegetarian/vegan option. The size of the burgers isn't worth the price. 👎🏻 The fries (typical swimming pool portion) with the topping were rather overpriced, but delicious. All in all, the service definitely needs to be more attentive. The staff we had were nice, though 🙌🏻 And the food should arrive warm at our table. We won't be eating there again.

The server was very nice, even though he was very busy. The Heart Attack was a really delicious burger, along with sweet potato fries with aioli sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

📍 Location & First Impression Based on my positive experience at base Burger, I was very excited to see what base kitchen had to offer – after all, the concept is deliberately designed to pursue its own unique style. There's definitely an immediate sense of recognition, probably due to the identical style: dark, stylish interior with an urban touch, a cool atmosphere, and a casual vibe. Anyone familiar with base Burger will feel right at home here. 🍽️ Food & Menu The food was – as expected – delicious. Fresh, well-seasoned, and appetizingly presented. With my dog by my side, the visit was completely uncomplicated, which I really appreciate. But: If you see yourself as an independent concept, more originality on the menu would have been desirable. From what I saw, the menu was almost (if not completely) identical to that of base Burger. The creative differentiation I had hoped for – perhaps through new bowls, different specials, or a slightly more experimental offering – unfortunately didn't materialize. That's a shame, because in my opinion, base kitchen is wasting a lot of its potential. 🧑‍🍳 Service The team was friendly and attentive – I've also experienced this from the Base family, and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was relaxed; we felt welcome. 🚗 Parking Parking spaces aren't exactly plentiful. If you're coming by car, you should bring some time and patience, or plan on a short walk. 📋 Conclusion – My Personal Impression I had a pleasant visit to base kitchen and can definitely recommend the place – especially if you're new to the concept. However, for those returning from the sister restaurant, there's a slight feeling of "I've seen it all before." A few bolder steps toward their own culinary signature would do the whole thing good – then base kitchen wouldn't just be base Burger in a new guise.

I ordered two chicken burgers and only received a deluxe pork burger. Since you state on Uber Eats that you're halal (I took a screenshot of it), I'm going to ask the health department to investigate how you manage to sell halal products and pork. It's a disaster! The burger ended up in the trash. I got a refund from Uber right away, but it's still a disaster! Very, very poor service.

After waiting over an hour for our two burgers, we asked the waitress how long it would be. She told us about 10 minutes. After another 15 minutes, we left the place without eating anything. Definitely NOT a recommendation!

We have eaten here twice already. The burgers and fries are really good. To the man who worked tonight: we have rarely been served so pleasantly and cheerfully, keep it up, because we walked out of the restaurant with a big smile. Only you should eat fries next time in Amsterdam:-)

It was very crowded and loud, and the waitress was very nice and polite. However, I was sitting at a table with a woman who was allergic and had a coughing fit because the waiter had too much aftershave on. We've never had any problems otherwise, but the smell was extremely strong.

The service still needs improvement: Drinks took a long time! Food took a very long time! Payment took a long time, after three requests. Even though we had a reservation and arrived 20 minutes early (we were already seated), we were still running low on concert tickets. The food was quite tasty, but the fries were completely cold under the pulled pork and salad. The restaurant was quite noisy; some acoustic elements would have been helpful.

Nice location. Unfortunately the service is overwhelmed, there are long waits for drinks and food. We asked for fries as a starter to simply bridge the time, as Dortmund fans were filling the place up a bit... well, we got our bowl and burger with fries served all at once. The fries with the pulled pork were cold and we canceled our dessert order after 30 minutes and 3 other tables left too... It was just the spectacle that was depressing, and the staff didn't apologize either. In my time in the restaurant industry, something like this would never have happened. The customer is not king in this restaurant.

Of all the restaurants I've been to here in Germany, this one gave me the best service I've ever had. My server was so friendly, smiled and even made small talk. He also spoke very good English. The food came out so fast but tasted delicious. I am obsessed with the peaches and mustard sauce. The soul eater burger I ordered was an absolute monster both in flavor and size. The juicy lucy fries were very refreshing. The place had beautiful decor and was very comfortable. If I didn't live so far away, I'd eat here regularly. 10/10 experience.

Very good burgers, unique atmosphere

Before we went to the restaurant, I looked at the bad reviews to see what was wrong with these great burgers. The first thing that comes to mind is of course “the vulcano”. This burger is served with a melted cheese that you can make even if you take off the metal ring. I really wanted to try it. It looks great, unfortunately the taste is just ok, the meat is, as others have said, a bit hard. We also had the loaded fries "Johnny's Fries" with pulled pork, which tasted ok. All in all the food was ok, nothing special. We ate outside, so I can't say much about the inside, except that the toilets looked cool with the red lights and black furniture.

We visited the trade fair in Dortmund and looked in advance at where you could eat well. We didn't regret our decision one bit because the Vulkano Burger simply blew us away in terms of taste! Simply MEGA delicious!!! We also shared fries with a mango aioli, which also tasted delicious! A clear recommendation is the homemade lemonade 👌. We will definitely come back!

Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all - we had reserved a table on a Sunday for 5.30 p.m. to eat a delicious bowl: "Sorry, we don't have any more - we've run out of rice" ... well then we wanted to make do with a portion of sweet potato fries and a portion of French fries - we waited 75 minutes for them, including asking 4 times (once for the order, three times for the food)...

The wait for food was very long (75 minutes), even though only half the tables were occupied. And then part of the order was incorrect.

We waited over 80 minutes for our food, and then the wrong food arrived. The waitress didn't manage to bring cutlery to the table the entire time we were waiting. I'd rather not say anything about the condition of the restrooms; every train station is cleaner. Absolutely ridiculous for the price.

1/5 stars Because 0 is not an option. Ordered a burger and fries. Waited about 1.5 hours, then after asking for the fries they finally came because the burger wasn't ready. The fries were hard and cold, as if they had been sitting there for a while. The burger came another 10 minutes later. It was very hot and OK. There wasn't even an apology for it taking so long. The restaurant wasn't even half full. I don't understand the good rating at all! A disappointment, unfortunately.

My burger was completely charred, and for the price, that's a disgrace. The service forgot about us several times. The fries were incredibly dry. We had to sit outside where there weren't even any heaters, and we had to get our own blankets. I can't recommend it at all.

1 hour waiting time. 100 guests and one service person for the entire store. Absolutely selfish as an operator to expect something like this from his guests and employees. Less greed for profit and more service character are urgently needed here. Food itself is good.

There was an unpleasant smell in the restaurant. The burgers were very tasty, but quite small for a price of €16. This also applied to the fries. The 0.4l beer cost €5.90, which is very high for Dortmund prices.

Burger ok, price wise but damn expensive for what you get. In addition to a 18 EUR burger, a 5 EUR homemade soda and another 7 EUR poutine and you're at 30 EUR per person. It definitely wasn't worth it. The service was no longer visible after the first order.
