Very tasty burger and tasty coleslaw (we didn't have any other side dish). The service was friendly and quite attentive. Unfortunately the card payment device stopped working, but luckily we had cash with us. Personally, the store is a bit too dark for me.

Despite a reservation, we had to wait almost an hour and the food only came after we complained. The food was very good, the price/performance ratio was ok, but the toilet was only clean enough. But we would come again.

Very good burgers, unique atmosphere

Before we went to the restaurant, I looked at the bad reviews to see what was wrong with these great burgers. The first thing that comes to mind is of course “the vulcano”. This burger is served with a melted cheese that you can make even if you take off the metal ring. I really wanted to try it. It looks great, unfortunately the taste is just ok, the meat is, as others have said, a bit hard. We also had the loaded fries "Johnny's Fries" with pulled pork, which tasted ok. All in all the food was ok, nothing special. We ate outside, so I can't say much about the inside, except that the toilets looked cool with the red lights and black furniture.

The food was really delicious and the service was also very friendly. We didn't have a reservation and were still able to sit down. The rooms are a bit too dark for me.

I was at BASE.KITCHEN in Dortmund and enjoyed an incredibly delicious burger. Great quality, fresh ingredients and perfect taste. Absolutely recommended!

We visited the trade fair in Dortmund and looked in advance at where you could eat well. We didn't regret our decision one bit because the Vulkano Burger simply blew us away in terms of taste! Simply MEGA delicious!!! We also shared fries with a mango aioli, which also tasted delicious! A clear recommendation is the homemade lemonade 👌. We will definitely come back!

Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all - we had reserved a table on a Sunday for 5.30 p.m. to eat a delicious bowl: "Sorry, we don't have any more - we've run out of rice" ... well then we wanted to make do with a portion of sweet potato fries and a portion of French fries - we waited 75 minutes for them, including asking 4 times (once for the order, three times for the food)...

The wait for food was very long (75 minutes), even though only half the tables were occupied. And then part of the order was incorrect.

We waited over 80 minutes for our food, and then the wrong food arrived. The waitress didn't manage to bring cutlery to the table the entire time we were waiting. I'd rather not say anything about the condition of the restrooms; every train station is cleaner. Absolutely ridiculous for the price.

1/5 stars Because 0 is not an option. Ordered a burger and fries. Waited about 1.5 hours, then after asking for the fries they finally came because the burger wasn't ready. The fries were hard and cold, as if they had been sitting there for a while. The burger came another 10 minutes later. It was very hot and OK. There wasn't even an apology for it taking so long. The restaurant wasn't even half full. I don't understand the good rating at all! A disappointment, unfortunately.

My burger was completely charred, and for the price, that's a disgrace. The service forgot about us several times. The fries were incredibly dry. We had to sit outside where there weren't even any heaters, and we had to get our own blankets. I can't recommend it at all.

The fries were very crispy, the drinks were delicious, and the burger variations were exciting, but the combos weren't bad. The service was very good and friendly. There's nothing to complain about. There was an unpleasant smell in the restaurant. The burgers were very tasty, but quite small for a price of €16. This also applied to the fries. The 0.4l beer cost €5.90, which is very high for Dortmund prices.

1 hour waiting time. 100 guests and one service person for the entire store. Absolutely selfish as an operator to expect something like this from his guests and employees. Less greed for profit and more service character are urgently needed here. Food itself is good.

Burger ok, price wise but damn expensive for what you get. In addition to a 18 EUR burger, a 5 EUR homemade soda and another 7 EUR poutine and you're at 30 EUR per person. It definitely wasn't worth it. The service was no longer visible after the first order.

Went there for brunch yesterday and it was just great! The pancake variations are unique and simply incredibly delicious! Everything else looked amazing too! The staff was also very personable and friendly. We'll definitely be back!!

We have been to Base Kitchen many times. We always feel very comfortable there, the waitresses are always friendly and give you very good advice on the extensive menu if you wish. Both the pancakes for breakfast and the burgers for dinner are to die for. A bit sinful 😉, but they make you happy 😋. We always like to come by!

Unfortunately the waiter was very overwhelmed. When the shop is full, it's no surprise that you're the only waiter. The burgers look great, but unfortunately they only taste average, maybe that was because they were only lukewarm. By the way, it would be helpful to have somewhere to put the ring for the cheese. The plates were too small for that. The atmosphere is more like a pub than a restaurant.

It was supposed to be a surprise for my wife's birthday. It was a disappointment, food bad, staff bad, I can't recommend it. I've never experienced having to go to the staff myself to order something to drink. Unfortunately we have to apologize for not having dinner with you yesterday. Unfortunately our food was more dry than juicy. Kitchen staff walks around in the guest room with dirty work clothes.

Clear recommendation for the Virgin Frozen Daiquiri and the Pistachio Lava Pancakes. The service could be much more attentive.

5 stars alone for our waiter Abud, who basically managed the full place by himself and bridged the waiting times in a really charming way. It was really nice to work with him! Food and such took a little longer, probably normal for an event nearby on the same evening. Props to Abud! :)

I was there 10 months ago and everything was okay then. That was during the week. Yesterday, Friday at 8 p.m., the two of us wanted to eat there. It remained the will. We had reserved online. We were given a table on the left, perfectly fine. However, the service was worse than ever before anywhere or at any time. Unavailable. We were there for half an hour and were not asked for drinks or food 🤷🏻‍♂️😬. It took 10 minutes for the service to even get to the area. Each time she walked purposefully to different tables and disappeared just as quickly, without looking left or right. Of course we could have screamed loudly or run after them 😬. After half an hour in which we were not noticed in any way, we left. We then went to the Greek restaurant around the corner, very tasty, food was there 20-25 minutes after arrival. In the Base Kitchen, the neighboring tables also had difficulty ordering. In the corner opposite, order only upon request. As I said, the service didn't notice us. Hardly anyone had drinks, let alone food. That's not possible, especially given the prices. Given the prices, the service simply has to work. Very, very disappointing. We would have told reception when we left, but there was no one in sight.

There were four of us there today. Ate burgers and the like. At the Jack Burger, the pattie was thin and way too dry. Double cheese was forgotten. The rest is so-so. Beer and shandy too warm. All of this could be better, especially considering the prices...

Flawless process, top service, great food. It was very cold in the bathroom, but it was hard to avoid it in this weather because it had to be ventilated, so it still got full marks.

I had a super relaxing evening there. The tables could really be a bit larger if you have several things to eat. The kitchen responded to the customer's wishes. The best thing: All burgers can be selected as vegan! The ambience is basically black, which makes it look classy and good. All in all, the store offers room for improvement due to the old building and other stores create a much more feel-good atmosphere, also thanks to the acoustics. It's still good and worth a visit. The Vulcano burger also really picked me up.

Excellent restaurant. Very friendly, food tasty, filling and served quickly. Great limos. We sat right in the middle of it all, which created a difference in the atmosphere. Then a 20-minute digestive walk to the stadium (just straight ahead), which is a great location.

Rating for BASIC KITCHEN in Dortmund Five of us went to BASIC KITCHEN for brunch – and what can I say? Each of us had a different main course, and each one was an absolute taste experience! The selection ranged from savory to sweet dishes, covering everything you could possibly want for brunch. But the real highlight were the desserts: pancakes, donuts and waffles that tasted simply heavenly. My God, I have rarely experienced such delicious food! The staff was absolutely great, super attentive, friendly and always there when you needed something. In addition, the store was spotlessly clean – an all-round perfect atmosphere. BAMS! This brunch experience is definitely worth repeating.

The food was very, very tasty, although the walls and ceilings were black, but it looked stylish. The waiters were very nice but in the end we were overlooked even though we had ordered four more drinks. After three quarters of an hour we didn't feel like waiting anymore. My husband ran to the waiter who served us, but he told another waitress and it took another while before she came. Still, I gave you 5 stars...it was full on Saturday evening and later. Maybe tell the waiters that they have to look around every now and then. Nevertheless, we will be happy to come back :) Thumbs up!

As a Pokémon trainer looking for a bite to eat, I didn't feel out of place here. On the contrary, I was warmly welcomed in this oasis of gastronomic perfection. The citizens here are not ordinary citizens. No, these are burgers on a mission: to tantalize your taste buds and make you question all the other burgers you've ever eaten. The combination of flavors is so balanced that you would almost think there is a team of molecular gastronomy experts in the kitchen.

The food was actually quite good, but if a hair is found in the food, you should first apologize and either come over and serve again or/and not count the money from the food. But it wasn't like that. You counted the food as normal. We are all human and we don't always have to be cheerful, nice or motivated, but when things like this happen you have to be professional and not wait for the tip. You should give the remaining money as normal.

Had a very tasty breakfast. Everything was perfect and extra requests like getting tofu instead of bacon were fulfilled. The affogato was also particularly good and rounded off the breakfast. There is a small minus point in the ambience and atmosphere, which could be a little more inviting and not so noisy.

Went to this restaurant for the first time today August 18th, 2024. The lady at the service was friendly, attentive and prompt. She also asked us if everything was okay. The food came after 25 minutes. It tasted very tasty. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star for the cleanliness of the restaurant. dirty cutlery (which was exchanged immediately upon notification). Stains on the table and lots of leftover food on the floor.

Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and the timing between courses was just right. As for the food, it certainly did not disappoint. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, with flavors that were both vibrant and satisfying. Overall, it was a wonderful brunch experience, and we left feeling content and well taken care of. Inventive recipes, great selection. Patty's unfortunately a little crispier, slightly juicier burgers would have rounded the whole thing off perfectly! The selection of fries (Juicy Lucy Fries 👌) was simply great, and the homemade drinks and dessert made up for the dry burgers. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

We came because of the good reviews and “gluten-free” burgers. When asked, no attention is paid at all to possible contamination during preparation. There are gluten-free buns, but they go into the same toaster as the gluten-containing buns. Unfortunately, it is not possible for people with celiac disease to eat burgers here. The normal fries are no problem. However, it is a shame to advertise gluten-free buns and not ensure a separate preparation that is safe for those affected. Maybe that will change in the future. I would be happy!

We were there for brunch today and unfortunately we waited over 50 minutes for our food. Only when we asked were we told that something was wrong with the transfer of information to the kitchen. The restaurant was quite empty (max. 7 tables occupied), so I would have liked the three service staff to have informed us of the situation earlier. Furthermore, today there was only espresso and milk coffee; all other coffee specialties would not be possible to order for reasons unknown to us. We won't be coming there again, especially since we had a bad experience with a very unfriendly waiter there some time ago. The shop used to be much fuller - in my opinion, a bad sign, especially in Dortmund's Kreuzviertel, as the other cafés there are fully booked long in advance, especially for brunch.

We visited BASE.KITCHEN on a weekday evening when it was fairly quiet. The service was friendly and the food came quickly, which was very positive. The food itself was an absolute 10 out of 10! The sweet potato fries and the regular fries in particular were incredibly tasty - probably the crispiest I've ever eaten. The ambience, however, left something to be desired, which is why I only give it four out of five stars. The prices are relatively high, but acceptable given today's times. A small point of criticism concerns the towel paper in the toilet: it was quite thin and could either be replaced with thicker paper or, better yet, with a hand dryer fan. In addition, the parking situation is quite difficult as there are hardly any parking spaces. However, if you come by bike or motorbike, you can park directly in front of the restaurant. Overall, a highly recommended experience that we would be happy to repeat.

We went there for a brunch on Sunday. The waiting time for the order was a bit longer than we expected, probably because of the amazing pancake tower that turned out to be the highest point of the brunch!
